2Status of hyperhomocysteinemia in China: results from the China Stroke High-risk Population Screening Program, 2018显示文摘A nationwide survey was conducted from October 2018 to September 2019 to assess the prevalence of hyperhomocysteinemia(Hhcy)and its influencing factors in China.A standardized questionnaire was used to collect information.Hhcy was defined as the level of serum homocysteine(HCY)≥15.0µmol/L.The H-type hypertension(HHYP)was defined as hypertension with an elevated serum HCY(≥15.0µmol/L).Finally,110551 residents≥40 years of age from 31 provinces in the mainland of China were included.Overall,the median serum HCY level was 10.9µmol/L(interquartile range 7.9–15.1).A total of 28633 participants(25.9%)were defined as Hhcy.The Hhcy prevalence ranged from 7.9%in Shanghai to 56.8%in Tianjin.The data showed that serum HCY levels were associated with age,male gender,cigarette smoking,hypertension,diabetes,ethnicity,endurance in exercise(inverse),and fruit and vegetable intake(inverse).In addition,15486 participants were defined as HHYP,and the rate was 14.0%.HHYP was an independent predictor of stroke with an adjusted odds ratio of 1.752(95%CI 1.338–2.105).The geographical distribution pattern of the Hhcy epidemic reflects dynamic differences,and national strategies should be carried out to further improve the care of patients with Hhcy across China.Wenjun Tu Feng Yan Baohua Chao Xunming Ji Longde Wang 2021Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,6:12
3Dual-Material Electron Beam Selective Melting:Hardware Development and Validation Studies显示文摘Electron beam selective melting(EBSM) is an additive manufacturing technique that directly fabricates three-dimensional parts in a layerwise fashion by using an electron beam to scan and melt metal powder. In recent years, EBSM has been successfully used in the additive manufacturing of a variety of materials. Previous research focused on the EBSM process of a single material. In this study, a novel EBSM process capable of building a gradient structure with dual metal materials was developed, and a powder-supplying method based on vibration was put forward. Two different powders can be supplied individually and then mixed. Two materials were used in this study: Ti6Al4 V powder and Ti47Al2Cr2 Nb powder. Ti6Al4 V has excellent strength and plasticity at room temperature, while Ti47Al2Cr2 Nb has excellent performance at high temperature, but is very brittle. A Ti6Al4V/Ti47Al2Cr2 Nb gradient material was successfully fabricated by the developed system. The microstructures and chemical compositions were characterized by optical microscopy, scanning microscopy, and electron microprobe analysis. Results showed that the interface thickness was about 300 μm. 5Polyimide-derived carbon nanofiber membranes as anodes for high-performance flexible lithium ion batteries显示文摘The strategy of N-doping in carbon materials could provide additional Li-ion storage sites to improve their electrochemical properties. Heteroatom-containing polymers could serve as good precursors to fabricate doped carbons due to the capability to in situ dope heteroatoms into the structures. In this work,electrospun heterocyclic polyimide(PI) nanofiber membranes containing biphenyl and pyrimidine rings were carbonized to fabricate freestanding and flexible heteroatoms-containing carbon membranes.When the polymer membranes were subjected to various calcination temperatures(from 550℃ to950℃) and durations(0.5-10 h), the structural evolutions strongly affect their electrochemical properties as anodes for lithium ion batteries. It demonstrated that the reversible specific capacity of obtained sample treated at 650℃ for 3 h could achieve 695 mAh/g at 0.1 A/g and retain 245 mAh/g at 1.5 A/g after300 cycles. 6Carbon isotope fractionation during shale gas transport: Mechanism, characterization and significance显示文摘The gas in-place(GIP)content and the ratio of adsorbed/free gas are two key parameters for the assessment of shale gas resources and have thus received extensive attention.A variety of methods have been proposed to solve these issues,however none have gained widespread acceptance.Carbon isotope fractionation during the methane transport process provides abundant information,serving as an effective method for differentiating the gas transport processes of adsorbed gas and free gas and ultimately evaluating the two key parameters.In this study,four stages of methane carbon isotope fractionation were documented during a laboratory experiment that simulated gas transport through shale.The four stages reflect different transport processes:the free gas seepage stage(Ⅰ),transition stage(Ⅱ),adsorbed gas desorption stage(Ⅲ)and concentration diffusion stage(Ⅳ).Combined with the results of decoupling experiments,the isotope fractionation characteristics donated by the single effect(seepage,adsorption-desorption and diffusion)were clearly revealed.We further propose a technique integrating the Amoco curve fit(ACF)method and carbon isotope fractionation(CIF)to determine the dynamic change in adsorbed and free gas ratios during gas production.We find that the gases produced in stage Ⅰ are primarily composed of free gas and that carbon isotope ratios of methane(δ13C1)are stable and equal to the ratios of source gas(13C 10).In stage Ⅱ,the contribution of free gas decreases,while the proportion of adsorbed gas increases,and the δ13C1 gradually becomes lighter.With the depletion of free gas,the adsorbed gas contribution in stage Ⅲ reaches 100%,and the δ13C1 becomes heavier.Finally,in stage Ⅳ,the desorbed gas remaining in the pore spaces diffuses out under the concentration difference,and the δ13C1 becomes lighter again and finally stabilizes.In addition,a kinetic model for the quantitative description of isotope fractionation during desorption and diffusion was established.Wenbiao LI Shuangfang LU Junqian LI Pengfei ZHANG Siyuan WANG Wenjun FENG Yongbo WEI 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,5:4
7A recombinant receptor-binding domain in trimeric form generates protective immunity against SARSCoV-2 infection in nonhuman primates显示文摘A safe and effective vaccine is critical to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.Here,we developed a trimeric SARS-CoV-2 receptor-binding domain(RBD)subunit vaccine candidate that simulates the natural structure of the spike(S)trimer glycoprotein.Immunization with the RBD trimer-induced robust humoral and cellular immune responses,and a high level of neutralizing antibodies was maintained for at least 4.5 months.Moreover,the antibodies that were produced in response to the vaccine effectively cross-neutralized the SARS-CoV-2501Y.V2 variant(B.1.351).Of note,when the vaccine-induced antibodies dropped to a sufficiently low level,only one boost quickly activated the anamnestic immune response,conferring full protection against a SARSCoV-2 challenge in rhesus macaques without typical histopathological changes in the lung tissues.These results demonstrated that the SARS-CoV-2 RBD trimer vaccine candidate is highly immunogenic and safe,providing long-lasting,broad,and significant immunity protection in nonhuman primates,thereby offering an optimal vaccination strategy against COVID-19.Limin Yang Deyu Tian Jian-bao Han Wenhui Fan Yuan Zhang Yunlong Li Wenqiang Sun Yanqiu Wei Xiaodong Tian Dan-dan Yu Xiao-li Feng Gong Cheng Yuhai Bi Yong-tang Zheng Wenjun Liu 2021The Innovation2021,2,3:3

9Surpassing electrocatalytic limit of earth-abundant Fe^(4+)embedded in N-doped graphene for(photo)electrocatalytic water oxidation显示文摘Developing highly active,cost-effective,and environmental friendly oxygen evolution reaction(OER)electrocatalysts facilitates various(photo)electrochemical processes.In this work,Fe3N nanoparticles encapsulated into N-doped graphene nanoshells(Fe_(3)N@NG)as OER electrocatalysts in alkaline media were reported.Both the experimental and theoretical comparison between Fe_(3) N@NG and Fe_(3)N/NG,specifically including in situ Mossbauer analyses,demonstrated that the NG nanoshells improved interfacial electron transfer process from Fe_(3)N to NG to form high-valence Fe^(4+)ions(Fe^(4+)@NG),thus modifying electronic properties of the outer NG shells and subsequently electron transfer from oxygen intermediate to NG nanoshells for OER catalytic process.Meanwhile,the NG nanoshells also protected Fe-based cores from forming OER inactive and insulated Fe_(2)O_(3),leading to high OER stability.As a result,the as-formed Fe^(4+)@NG shows one of the highest electrocatalytic efficiency among reported Fe-based OER electrocatalysts,which can as well highly improve the photoelectrochemical water oxidation when used as the cocatalysts for the Fe_(2)O_(3) nanoarray photoanode.Wenjia Xue Feng Cheng Menglu Li Wenjian Hu Congping Wu Bing Wang Kuowei Liao ZhenTao Yu Yingfang Yao Wenjun Luo Zhigang Zou 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,3:2

11Laparoscopic vs.open surgery for gastrointestinal stromal tumors of esophagogastric junction:A multicenter,retrospective cohort analysis with propensity score weighting显示文摘Objective:Laparoscopic resection is increasingly performed for gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs).However,the laparoscopic approach for GISTs located in the esophagogastric junction(EGJ-GIST)is surgically challenging.This study compares the efficacy of laparoscopic surgery and the open procedure for EGJ-GIST through the propensity score weighting(PSW)method.Methods:Between April 2006 and April 2018,1,824 surgical patients were diagnosed with primary gastric GIST at four medical centers in South China.Of these patients,228 were identified as EGJ-GISTs and retrospectively reviewed clinicopathological characteristics,operative information,and long-term outcomes.PSW was used to create the balanced cohorts.Results:PSW was carried out in laparoscopic and open-surgery cohorts according to year of surgery,sex,age,body mass index(BMI),tumor size,mitotic rates and recurrence risk.After PSW,438 patients consisting of 213 laparoscopic(L group)and 225 open surgery(O group)patients were enrolled.After PSW,the following measures in the L group were superior to those in the O group:median operative time[interquartile range(IQR)]:100.0(64.5-141.5)vs.149.0(104.0-197.5)min,P<0.001;median blood loss(IQR):30.0(10.0-50.0)vs.50.0(20.0-100.0)mL,P=0.002;median time to liquid intake(IQR):3.0(2.0-4.0)vs.4.0(3.0-5.0)d,P<0.001;median hospital stay(IQR):6.0(4.0-8.0)vs.7.0(5.0-12.0)d,P<0.001;and postoperative complications(10.3%vs.22.7%,P=0.001).The median follow-up was 55(range,2-153)months in the entire cohort.No significant differences were detected in either relapse-free survival(RFS)[hazard ratio(HR):0.372,95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.072-1.910,P=0.236]or overall survival(OS)(HR:0.400,95%CI:0.119-1.343,P=0.138)between the two groups.Conclusions:Laparoscopic surgery for EGJ-GIST is associated with the advantages of shorter operative time,reduced blood loss,shorter time to liquid intake,and shorter length of stay,all without compromising postoperative outcomes and long-term survival.Wenjun Xiong Yuting Xu Tao Chen Xingyu Feng Rui Zhou Jin Wan Yong Li Guoxin Li Wei Wang 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,1:2

14A Novel High-Entropy Amorphous Thin Film with High Electrical Resistivity and Outstanding Corrosion Resistance显示文摘This study explores a novel WNbMoTaV high-entropy thin film(HETF)in amorphous structure via pulsed laser deposition system.The formation of amorphous structure of this high-entropy alloy is ascribed to the high cooling rate during the deposition process.The HETF shows a smooth surface with a height fl uctuation of less than 13 nm.This film has a high electrical resistivity of~320.6μΩ·cm and a low corrosion current density of 0.088μA/cm 2.The corrosion resistance of the HETF at ambient temperature is superior to the conventional AISI 316 L stainless steel.The high electrical resistivity and excellent corrosion resistance of the HETF are mainly attributed to its chemical disorder,cocktail effect and homogeneous amorphous structure.This experimental phenomenon not only provides a basis for the preparation of amorphous alloy films with low glass forming ability by pulsed laser deposition system,also promotes the potential application of WNbMoTaV HETF in the microelectronic components as resistivity sensors.Chuang-Shi Feng Tian-Wei Lu Tian-Li Wang Man-Zhen Lin Junhua Hou Wenjun Lu Wei-Bing Liao 2021Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2021,34,11:1

16Maternal genetic history of ancient Tibetans over the past 4000 years显示文摘The settlement of the Tibetan Plateau epitomizes human adaptation to a high-altitude environment that poses great challenges to human activity.Here,we reconstruct a 4000-year maternal genetic history of Tibetans using 128 ancient mitochondrial genome data from 37 sites in Tibet.The phylogeny of haplotypes M9a1a,M9a1b,D4g2,G2a’c,and D4i show that ancient Tibetans share the most recent common ancestor with ancient Middle and Upper Yellow River populations around the Early and Middle Holocene.In addition,the connections between Tibetans and Northeastern Asians vary over the past 4000 years,with a stronger matrilineal connection between the two during 4000 BPe3000 BP,and a weakened connection after 3000 BP,that are coincident with climate change,followed by a reinforced connection after the Tubo period(1400 BPe1100 BP).Besides,an over 4000-year matrilineal continuity is observed in some of the maternal lineages.We also find the maternal genetic structure of ancient Tibetans is correlated to the geography and interactions between ancient Tibetans and ancient Nepal and Pakistan populations.Overall,the maternal genetic history of Tibetans can be characterized as a long-term matrilineal continuity with frequent internal and external population interactions that are dynamically shaped by geography,climate changes,as well as historical events.Ganyu Zhang Can Cui Shargan Wangdue Hongliang Lu Honghai Chen Lin Xi Wei He Haibing Yuan Tinley Tsring Zujun Chen Feng Yang Tashi Tsering Shuai Li Norbu Tashi Tsho Yang Yan Tong Xiaohong Wu Linhui Li Yuanhong He Peng Cao Qingyan Dai Feng Liu Xiaotian Feng Tianyi Wang Ruowei Yang Wanjing Ping Ming Zhang Xing Gao Yichen Liu Wenjun Wang Qiaomei Fu 2023Journal of Genetics and Genomics2023,50,10:1
