1Synthesis of novel nanomaterials and their application in efficient removal of radionuclides显示文摘With the development of nuclear energy, large amounts of radionuclides are inevitably released into the natural environment. It is necessary to eliminate radionuclides from wastewater for the protection of environment. Nanomaterials have been considered as the potential candidates for the effective and selective removal of radionuclides from aqueous solutions under complicated conditions because of their high specific surface area, large amounts of binding sites, abundant functional groups, pore-size controllable and easily surface modification. This review mainly summarized the recent studies for the synthesis, fabrication and surface modification of novel nanomaterials and their applications in the efficient elimination and solidification of radionuclides,and discussed the interaction mechanisms from batch experiments, spectroscopy analysis and theoretical calculations. 6Endostatin enhances antitumor effect of tumor antigen-pulsed dendritic cell therapy in mouse xenograft model of lung carcinoma显示文摘Objective: To investigate the antitumor effect of endostatin combined with tumor antigen-pulsed dendritic cell(DC)-T cell therapy on lung cancer.Methods: Transplanted Lewis lung cancer(LLC) models of C57BL/6 mice were established by subcutaneous injection of LLC cells in left extremity axillary. Tumor antigen-pulsed DC-T cells from spleen cells and bone of mice were cultured in vitro. Tumor-bearing mice were randomly divided into three groups, including DCT+endostatin group, DC-T group, and phosphate-buffered saline(PBS) control group. Microvessel density(MVD) of tumor tissue in tumor-bearing mice was determined by immunohistochemistry(IHC). The expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α) were determined by Western blotting and IHC staining. The proportions of CD8+ T cells, mature dendritic cells(m DC), tumor-associated macrophages [TAM(M1/M2)], and myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSC) in suspended cells of tumor tissue were determined by flow cytometry. The expressions of interleukin(IL)-6, IL-10, IL-17, transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β) and interferon-γ(IFN-γ) in suspended cells of tumor tissue were detected by enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay(ELISA).Results: DC-T cells combined with endostatin remarkably suppressed tumor growth. MVD of mice in DCT+endostatin group was significantly lower than that of the control group and DC-T monotherapy group. The expressions of VEGF, IL-6 and IL-17 in tumors were markedly decreased, but IFN-γ and HIF-1α increased after treating with DC-T cells combined with endostatin, compared to control group and DC-T group. In the DCT+endostatin group, the proportions of MDSC and TAM(M2 type) were significantly decreased, m DC and TAM(M1 type) were up-regulated, and CD8+ T cells were recruited to infiltrate tumors, in contrast to PBS control and DC-T monotherapy. 7Hydrodynamic process of Tibetan Plateau lake revealed by grain size:Case study of Pumayum Co显示文摘Under the background of global warming,some lakes on the Tibetan Plateau(TP) are potentially sensitive to temperature change.With a case study of Pumayum Co,where glacier meltwater is important to supply(we call this a glacier-fed lake hereafter),we analyze the sensitivity of lake sediment grain size to temperature change.This is done by resolving the modern hydrodynamic process,coupled with comparison of paleoclimatic proxies.According to the spatial distributions of parameters,percentage of grain size and the grain size frequency distribution curve,hydrodynamic processes are analyzed.Five clastic sedimentation types are thereby discriminated.In the open lake area,suspended load transport is the main transport agent.Grain Size Trend Analysis(GSTA),a sediment dynamics model,reveals a trend toward eastward transport.This indicates that the largest and glacier-fed river,the Jiaqu River,influences the entire lake(not just the subsurface alluvial fan),and that lake sediment grain size may serve as a temperature indicator.Time series comparison between grain size of a short core from the central lake and meteorological data confirms this temperature indication,which in turn shows reliability of the method discriminating the hydrodynamic process.This case study will improve the ability of paleoclimatic reconstruction using lake sediment in glacier-fed lakes on the Tibetan Plateau.JU JianTing ZHU LiPing FENG JinLiang WANG JunBo WANG Yong XIE ManPing PENG Ping ZHEN XiaoLin LÜXinMiao 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,19:7
8Mycorrhizal symbiosis modulates the rhizosphere microbiota to promote rhizobia–legume symbiosis显示文摘Plants establish symbioses with mutualistic fungi,such as arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM)fungi,and bacteria,such as rhizobia,to exchange key nutrients and thrive.Plants and symbionts have coevolved and represent vital components of terrestrial ecosystems.Plants employ an ancestral AM signaling pathway to establish intracellular symbioses,including the legume–rhizobia symbiosis,in their roots.Nevertheless,the relationship between the AM and rhizobial symbioses in native soil is poorly understood.Here,we examined how these distinct symbioses affect root-associated bacterial communities in Medicago truncatula by performing quantitative microbiota profiling(QMP)of 16S rRNA genes.We found that M.truncatula mutants that cannot establish AM or rhizobia symbiosis have an altered microbial load(quantitative abundance)in the rhizosphere and roots,and in particular that AM symbiosis is required to assemble a normal quantitative root-associated microbiota in native soil.Moreover,quantitative microbial co-abundance network analyses revealed that AM symbiosis affects Rhizobiales hubs among plant microbiota and benefits the plant holobiont.Through QMP of rhizobial rpoB and AM fungal SSU rRNA genes,we revealed a new layer of interaction whereby AM symbiosis promotes rhizobia accumulation in the rhizosphere of M.truncatula.We further showed that AM symbiosis-conditioned microbial communities within the M.truncatula rhizosphere could promote nodulation in different legume plants in native soil.Given that the AM and rhizobial symbioses are critical for crop growth,our findings might inform strategies to improve agricultural management.Moreover,our work sheds light on the co-evolution of these intracellular symbioses during plant adaptation to native soil conditions.Xiaolin Wang Huan Feng Yayu Wang Mingxing Wang Xingguang Xie Huizhong Chang Like Wang Jicheng Qu Kai Sun Wei He Chunyan Wang Chuanchao Dai Zhaohui Chu Changfu Tian Nan Yu Xuebin Zhang Huan Liu Ertao Wang 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,3:6
9NLP1 reciprocally regulates nitrate inhibition of nodulation through SUNN-CRA2 signaling in Medicago truncatula显示文摘Most legume plants can associate with diazotrophic soil bacteria called rhizobia,resulting in new root organs called nodules that enable N2 fixation.Nodulation is an energy-consuming process,and nodule number is tightly regulated by independent systemic signaling pathways controlled by CLE/SUNN and CEP/CRA2.Moreover,nitrate inhibits legume nodulation via local and systemic regulatory pathways.In Medicago truncatula,NLP1 plays important roles in nitrate-induced inhibition of nodulation,but the relationship between systemic and local pathways in mediating nodulation inhibition by nitrate is poorly understood.In this study,we found that nitrate induces CLE35 expression in an NLP1-dependent manner and that NLP1 binds directly to the CLE35 promoter to activate its expression.Grafting experiments revealed that the systemic control of nodule number involves negative regulation by SUNN and positive regulation by CRA2 in the shoot,and that NLP1’s control of the inhibition of rhizobial infection,nodule development,and nitrogenase activity in response to nitrate is determined by the root.Unexpectedly,grafting experiments showed that loss of CRA2 in the root increases nodule number at inhibitory nitrate levels,probably because of CEP1/2 upregulation in the cra2 mutants,suggesting that CRA2 exerts active negative feedback regulation in the root.Zhenpeng Luo Jie-shun Lin Yali Zhu Mengdi Fu Xiaolin Li Fang Xie 2021Plant Communications2021,2,3:5
10A nanocleaner specifically penetrates the blood-brain barrier at lesions to clean toxic proteins and regulate inflammation in Alzheimer's disease显示文摘Insurmountable blood-brain barrier(BBB) and complex pathological features are the key factors affecting the treatment of Alzheimer's disease(AD).Poor accumulation of drugs in lesion sites and undesired effectiveness of simply reducing Aβ deposition or TAU protein need to be resolved urgently.Herein,a nanocleaner is designed with a rapamycin-loaded ROS-responsive PLGA core and surface modification with KLVFF peptide and acid-cleavable DAG peptide [R@(ox-PLGA)-KcD].DAG can enhance the targeting and internalization effect of nanocleaner towards neurovascular unit endothelial cells in AD lesions,and subsequently detach from nanocleaner in response to acidic microenvironment of endosomes to promote the transcytosis of nanocleaner from endothelial cells into brain parenchyma.Then exposed KLVFF can capture and carry Aβ to microglia,attenuating Aβ-induced neurotoxicity.Strikingly,rapamycin,an autophagy promoter,is rapidly liberated from nanocleaner in the high ROS level of lesions to improve Aβ degradation and normalize inflammatory condition.This design altogether accelerates Aβ degradation and alleviates oxidative stress and excessive inflammatory response.Collectively,our finding offers a strategy to target the AD lesions precisely and multi-pronged therapies for clearing the toxic proteins and modulating lesion microenvironment,to achieve efficient AD therapy.Ting Lei Zhihang Yang Xue Xia Yuxiu Chen Xiaotong Yang Rou Xie Fan Tong Xiaolin Wang Huile Gao 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,12:4
11Metabolic Dysfunction-associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD) and Viral Hepatitis显示文摘A new definition of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)was proposed in 2020.The change from nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)to MAFLD highlights the metabolic abnormalities that accompany fatty liver.The diagnosis of MAFLD does not require exclusion of secondary causes of liver diseases and alcohol consumption.Thus,MAFLD may coexist with other types of liver diseases,such as viral hepatitis,a disease that remains the most common cause of liver disease-related death.With the increasing prevalence of MAFLD,patients with coincidental MAFLD and viral hepatitis are frequently encountered in clinical practice.In this review,we mainly summarize the mutual relationship between hepatitis B/C and systematic metabolism dysfunction related to MAFLD.We discuss the impact of MAFLD on progression of viral hepatitis and the therapies.Some unaddressed clinical problems related to concomitant MAFLD and viral hepatitis are also identified.Xiaolin Wang Qing Xie 2022Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,1:3

14Ultra-low thermal conductivity of two-dimensional phononic crystals in the incoherent regime显示文摘Two-dimensional silicon phononic crystals have attracted extensive research interest for thermoelectric applications due to their reproducible low thermal conductivity and sufficiently good electrical properties.For thermoelectric devices in high-temperature environment,the coherent phonon interference is strongly suppressed;therefore phonon transport in the incoherent regime is critically important for manipulating their thermal conductivity.On the basis of perturbation theory,we present herein a novel phonon scattering process from the perspective of bond order imperfections in the surface skin of nanostructures.We incorporate this strongly frequency-dependent scattering rate into the phonon Boltzmann transport equation and reproduce the ultra low thermal conductivity of holey silicon nanostructures.We reveal that the remarkable reduction of thermal conductivity originates not only from the impediment of low-frequency phonons by normal boundary scattering,but also from the severe suppression of high-frequency phonons by surface bond order imperfections scattering.Our theory not only reveals the role of the holey surface on the phonon transport,but also provide a computation tool for thermal conductivity modification in nanostructures through surface engineering.Guofeng Xie Zhifang Ju Kuikui Zhou Xiaolin Wei Zhixin Guo Yongqing Cai Gang Zhang 2018npj Computational Materials2018,,1:2
15Arabidopsis ENOR3 regulates RNAi-mediated antiviral defense显示文摘Viruses can infect host plants to cause severe diseases and substantial agricultural loss, while plants have evolved RNA interference(RNAi) strategy to defend against viral infection. Despite enormous efforts, only a few host proteins in RNAi pathway were shown to mediate antiviral defense, including RNA-dependent RNA polymerase 1(RDR1), RDR6, DICER-LIKE 2(DCL2) and DCL4. In this study, we carried out a genetic screen for antiviral factors of RNAi pathway in Arabidopsis rdr6 background via inoculation with a 2 bdeficient Cucumber Mosaic Virus(CMV-D2b). We identified a mutant susceptible to CMV-D2b, referred to as enhancer of rdr6(enor) 3-1 rdr6, and found that ENOR3 encodes a functionally unknown protein with high homology to the mammalian Non Imprinted in Prader-Willi/Angelman(NIPA) magnesium transporters. ENOR3 inhibits accumulation of CMV-D2b and acts additively with RDR1, RDR6, DCL2 and DCL4 in antiviral defense. 17Accurate construction of cell membrane biomimetic graphene nanodecoys via purposeful surface engineering to improve screening efficiency of active components of traditional Chinese medicine显示文摘Biomimetic nanoengineering presents great potential in biomedical research by integrating cell membrane(CM) with functional nanoparticles. However, preparation of CM biomimetic nanomaterials for custom applications that can avoid the aggregation of nanocarriers while maintaining the biological activity of CM remains a challenge. Herein, a high-performance CM biomimetic graphene nanodecoy was fabricated via purposeful surface engineering, where polyethylene glycol(PEG) was used to modifying magnetic graphene oxide(MGO) to improve its stability in physiological solution, so as to improve the screening efficiency to active components of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM). With this strategy, the constructed PEGylated MGO(PMGO) could keep stable at least 10 days, thus improving the CM coating efficiency. Meanwhile, by taking advantage of the inherent ability of He La cell membrane(HM) to interact with specific ligands, HM-camouflaged PMGO showed satisfied adsorption capacity(116.2 mg/g) and selectivity. Finally, three potential active components, byakangelicol, imperatorin,and isoimperatorin, were screened from Angelica dahurica, whose potential antiproliferative activity were further validated by pharmacological studies. 18Primary tumor location in lung cancer:the evaluation and administration显示文摘Lung cancer continues to be the leading cause of cancer-related death in the world,which is classically subgrouped into two major histological types:Non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)(85%of patients)and small-cell lung cancer(SCLC)(15%).Tumor location has been reported to be associated with the prognosis of various solid tumors.Several types of cancer often occur in a specific region and are more prone to spread to predilection locations,including colorectal cancer,prostate cancer,gastric cancer,ovarian cancer,cervical cancer,bladder cancer,lung tumor,and so on.Besides,tumor location is also considered as a risk factor for lung neoplasm with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease/emphysema.Additionally,the primary lung cancer location is associated with specific lymph node metastasis.And the recent analysis has shown that the primary location may affect metastasis pattern in metastatic NSCLC based on a large population.Numerous studies have enrolled the“location”factor in the risk model.Anatomy location and lobe-specific location are both important in prognosis.Therefore,it is important for us to clarify the characteristics about tumor location according to various definitions.However,the inconsistent definitions about tumor location among different articles are controversial.It is also a significant guidance in multimode therapy in the present time.In this review,we mainly aim to provide a new insight about tumor location,including anatomy,clinicopathology,and prognosis in patients with lung neoplasm.Xueqi Xie Xiaolin Li Wenjie Tang Peng Xie Xuefen Tan 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,2:2
