1Programmable soft bending actuators with auxetic metamaterials显示文摘Soft robotics has been receiving increasing attention due to its flexibility and adaptability offered by embodied intelligence. A soft robot may undergo complex motions including stretching,contraction,bending,twisting,and their intricate combinations.Among these basic motions,bending plays a central role when a robot accomplishes tasks such as locomotion,grasping and manipulation. Although a rich repertoire of bending mechanisms has been reported,a systematic and rational design framework is still lack. In this paper,we provide a novel design strategy for soft bending actuators which allows integral modeling and design optimization. Nowadays,metamaterials are emerging as a new tool for soft robots,by encoding the desired complex motions directly within the material architectures,leading to conformable monolithic systems. We combine pneumatic actuators and flexible metamaterials to provide an alternative solution to soft bending actuators,with advantages of compact design,large bending motion,and convenient fabrication. A regular pneumatic chamber is embedded inside auxetic and non-auxetic metamaterials,and bending is generated when inflated. We carry out dimensionless analysis to identify the key design variables. To provide insight into design optimization,we develop a computation framework by modeling metamaterial structures with beam elements and the inner chamber with shell elements as an integral part,allowing efficient simulation of the coupled system. 2Structural basis for bivalent binding and inhibition of SARS-CoV-2 infection by human potent neutralizing antibodies显示文摘Neutralizing monoclonal antibodies(nAbs)to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)represent promising candidates for clinical intervention against coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).We isolated a large number of nAbs from SARS-CoV-2-infected individuals capable of disrupting proper interaction between the receptor binding domain(RBD)of the viral spike(S)protein and the receptor angiotensin converting enzyme 2(ACE2).However,the structural basis for their potent neutralizing activity remains unclear.Here,we report cryo-EM structures of the ten most potent nAbs in their native full-length IgG-form or in both IgG-form and Fab-form bound to the trimeric S protein of SARS-CoV-2.The bivalent binding of the full-length IgG is found to associate with more RBDs in the“up”conformation than the monovalent binding of Fab,perhaps contributing to the enhanced neutralizing activity of IgG and triggering more shedding of the S1 subunit from the S protein.Comparison of a large number of nAbs identified common and unique structural features associated with their potent neutralizing activities.This work provides a structural basis for further understanding the mechanism of nAbs,especially through revealing the bivalent binding and its correlation with more potent neutralization and the shedding of S1 subunit.Renhong Yan Ruoke Wang Bin Ju Jinfang Yu Yuanyuan Zhang Nan Liu Jia Wang Qi Zhang Peng Chen Bing Zhou Yaning Li Yaping Shen Shuyuan Zhang Long Tian Yingying Guo Lu Xia Xinyue Zhong Lin Cheng Xiangyang Ge Juanjuan Zhao Hong-Wei Wang Xinquan Wang Zheng Zhang Linqi Zhang Qiang Zhou 2021Cell Research2021,31,5:4
3Three-dimensional temperature reconstruction of diffusion flame from the light-field convolution imaging by the focused plenoptic camera显示文摘The plenoptic imaging technique provides a promising approach to the non-invasive three-dimensional measurement, especially for the high-temperature combustion diagnosis. We establish a light-field convolution imaging model for diffusion flame in this work, considering the radiation transfer process inside the diffusion flame and the light transfer process inside the focused plenoptic camera together. The radiation transfer process is described by the radiation transfer equation and solved by the generalized source multi-flux method. Wave optics theory is adopted to describe the light transfer process, combining Fresnel diffraction and the phase conversion of the lens. The flame light-field image is obtained by the light-field convolution imaging model and adopted as the measurement signal to reconstruct three-dimensional temperature field. The inverse problem of temperature reconstruction is solved by the least square QR decomposition method. The simulative temperature reconstruction work is conducted, including the inverse analysis, the uncertainty analysis, and the measurement noise influence. All the results show that the proposed measurement method is available to reconstruct three-dimensional temperature with satisfactory accuracy and acceptable uncertainty. 4Antibiotics-mediated intestinal microbiome perturbation aggravates tacrolimus-induced glucose disorders in mice显示文摘Both immunosuppressants and antibiotics (ABX) are indispensable for transplant patients. However, the former increases the risk of new-onset diabetes, whereas the latter impacts intestinal microbiota (IM). It is still unclear whether and how the interaction between immunosuppressants and ABX alters the IM and thus leads to glucose metabolism disorders. This study examined the alterations of glucose and lipid metabolism and IM in mice exposed to tacrolimus (TAC) with or without ABX. We found that ABX further aggravated TAC-induced glucose tolerance and increased insulin secretion. Combined treatment resulted in exacerbated lipid accumulation in the liver. TAC-altered microbial community was further amplified by ABX administration, as characterized by reductions in phylum Firmicutes, family Lachnospiraceae, and genus Copyococcus. Analyses based on the metagenomic profiles revealed that ABX augmented the effect of TAC on microbial metabolic function mostly related to lipid metabolism. The altered components of gut microbiome and predicted microbial functional profiles showed significant correlation with hepatic lipid accumulation and glucose disorders. In conclusion, ABX aggravated the effect of TAC on the microbiome and its metabolic capacities, which might contribute to hepatic lipid accumulation and glucose disorders. 5Antioxidative and immunological effects of Cyclocarya paliurus polysaccharides on the spleen injury of diabetic rats显示文摘OBJEVTIVE:To investigate the effects of Cyclocarya paliurus(C.paliurus)polysaccharides on the spleen injury of diabetic rats.METHODS:Animals were divided into 6 groups,including normal group,model group,control group,low-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment,middle-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment and high-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment.Histological analysis of spleen was analyzed using hematoxilin and eosin.Levels of biological parameters and anti-oxidative enzymes were determined by spectrophotometry.Interleukin-7(IL-7)and IL-10 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.RESULTS:Compared with that of model group,superoxide dismutase,catalase,glutathione peroxidase,glutathione reductase level increased 78.63%(P<0.05),51.76%(P<0.05),2.95 times(P<0.01)and 41.11%(P<0.05)in the high-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment,respectively.IL-7 and IL-10 increase 1.66(P<0.01)and 1.21 times(P<0.01)in the high-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment,respectively.CONCLUSION:It is suggested that C.paliurus polysaccharides may play a protecting role for spleen injury of diabetic rats by enhancing the antioxidative ability and evaluating the immunity.XIA Xichao LI Bin QIU Ju TIAN Gang CHEN Changdong LA Ming ZHANG Ke QI Jinxu LI Yanyan GAO Huashan SHAO Xiangyang SU Congying WANG Mengqi OUYANG Jingfeng 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,5:2
6Synthesis of 2-Isopropyl Naphthalene Catalyzed by Et_3NHCl-AlCl_3 Ionic Liquids显示文摘In this paper, 2-isopropyl naphthalene has been synthesized by the reaction of naphthalene and isopropyl bromide, using triethylamine hydrochloride-aluminum chloride ionic liquid as the catalyst. The effect of the catalyst composition, the reaction time, the reaction temperature, the ionic liquid dosage, as well as the molar ratio of the reagents on the 2-isopropyl naphthalene yield was systematically investigated. The optimal reaction conditions cover: an AlCl3 to Et3NHCl ratio of 2.0, a reaction time of 3 h, a reaction temperature of 15.0 ℃, a volume fraction of ionic liquid to the mixture(isopropyl bromide, n-dodecane and n-hexane) of 9%, and a naphthalene/isopropyl bromide molar ratio of 4.0. Under the optimal reaction conditions, the conversion of isopropyl bromide reached 98% and the selectivity of 2-isopropyl naphthalene was equal to 80%. The test results verified good catalytic activity upon using Et3NHCl-AlCl3 ionic liquid as the catalyst for alkylation of naphthalene with isopropyl bromide. 8Joint association analysis method to dissect complex genetic architecture of multiple genetically related traits显示文摘Genome-wide association study(GWAS)has been a standard approach to discover the genetic determinants underlying complex traits.It is a major challenge in GWAS how to improve analysis power,uncover complex genetic correlation,and reveal gene-gene and gene-environment interactions through integrated analysis of multiple genetically related traits.To combat these challenges,we proposed a mixed linear model-based joint association analysis method for multiple traits,which include epistasis and geneenvironment interaction in the mapping model and utilize within-trait variance and between-trait covariance simultaneously;A F-statistics based on Wilks statistics is used to test the significance of each SNP and paired interacted SNPs,each genetic effects of QTS are estimated and tested by the MCMC method based on a QTS full model.Simulations showed that the multi-trait GWAS method could provide increased power in detecting pleiotropic loci affecting more than one trait,and can unbiasedly estimate effects of QTS.To demonstrate the performance of the proposed method,we analyzed four blood lipid traits in Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis(MESA)Cohort and two yield-related traits in a rice immortalized F2 dataset.A software package was developed for the proposed method.Feng Lin Guoan Qi Ting Xu Xiangyang Lou Yongbo Hong Haiming Xu 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,5:2

11Detection of diverse viruses in alimentary specimens of bats in Macao显示文摘Bats carry a variety of viruses, and some of them cause public health problems. Macao, which is famous for its gambling industry, has a complex population structure. The globalization in such an international metropolis has enhanced the chance of disease transmission. Therefore, surveillance of zoonotic viruses is necessary for the early warning of potential emerging infectious diseases.Here, we report the first surveillance of bat viruses in Macao. In this study, we collected 1004 samples involving 10 bat species from 7 sites from April 2015 to May 2016, and examined the presence of viruses using nucleic acid-based methods. Coronaviruses, adenoviruses and paramyxoviruses were detected in these samples, with a high prevalence of coronaviruses. While,none was positive for hepatitis A virus, hepatitis E virus or hantavirus. 13Opening of Band Gap of Graphene with High Electronic Mobility by Codoping BN Pairs显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)materials with a high density and low power consumption have become the most popular candidates for next-generation semiconductor electronic devices.As a prototype 2D material,graphene has attracted much attention owing to its stability and ultrahigh mobility.However,zero band gap of graphene leads to very low on-off ratios and thus limits its applications in electronic devices,such as transistors.Although some new 2D materials and doped graphene have nonzero band gaps,the electronic mobility is sacrificed.In this study,to open the band gap of graphene with high electronic mobility,the structure and property of BN-doped graphene were evaluated using first-principles calculations.The formation energies indicate that the six-membered BN rings doped graphene has the most favorable configuration.The band structures show that the band gaps can be opened by such type of doping.Also,the Dirac-cone-like band dispersion of graphene is mostly inhibited,ensuring high electronic mobility.Therefore,codoping BN into graphene might provide 2D materials with nonzero band gaps and high electronic mobility.REN Xiangyang XIA Sha ZHANG Zhiguo MENG Xing YU Hongmei WU Qi ZHANG Wenyi LI Aiwu YANG Han 2019Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2019,35,6:1
14NOVEL METHOD OF MOVING TARGET DETECTION FOR DUAL-CHANNEL WAS RADAR BASED ON COMPRESSED SENSING显示文摘We propose a ground moving target detection method for dual-channel Wide Area Surveillance(WAS) radar based on Compressed Sensing(CS).Firstly,the method of moving target detection of the WAS radar is studied.In order to reduce the sample data quantity of the radar,the echo data is randomly sampled in the azimuth direction,then,the matched filter is used to perform the range direction focus.We can use the compressive sensing theory to recover the signal in the Doppler domain.At last,the phase difference between the two channels is compensated to suppress the clutter.The result of the simulated data verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method.Sun Xiaoyu Qi Xiangyang 2014Journal of Electronics(China)2014,31,2:1
