1Root microbiota shift in rice correlates with resident time in the field and developmental stage显示文摘Land plants in natural soil form intimate relationships with the diverse root bacterial microbiota. A growing body of evidence shows that these microbes are important for plant growth and health. Root microbiota composition has been widely studied in several model plants and crops; however, little is known about how root microbiota vary throughout the plant's life cycle under field conditions. We performed longitudinal dense sampling in field trials to track the time-series shift of the root microbiota from two representative rice cultivars in two separate locations in China. We found that the rice root microbiota varied dramatically during the vegetative stages and stabilized from the beginning of the reproductive stage, after which the root microbiota underwent relatively minor changes until rice ripening. Notably, both rice genotype and geographical location influenced the patterns of root microbiota shift that occurred during plant growth. The relative abundance of Deltaproteobacteria in roots significantly increased overtime throughout the entire life cycle of rice, while that of Betaproteobacteria, Firmicutes, and Gammaproteobacteria decreased. By a machine learning approach, we identified biomarker taxa and established a model to correlate root microbiota with rice resident time in the field(e.g., Nitrospira accumulated from 5 weeks/tillering in field-grown rice). 2The first all-season sample set for mapping global land cover with Landsat-8 data显示文摘We report the world's first all-season training and validation sample sets for global land cover classification with Landsat-8 data.Prior to this,such samples were only available at a single date primarily from the growing season.It is unknown how much limitation such a single-date sample has to mapping global land cover in other seasons of the year.To answer this question,we selected available Landsat-8 images from four seasons and collected training and validation samples from them.We compared the performances of training samples in different seasons using Random Forest algorithm.We found that the use of training samples from any individual season would result in the best overall classification accuracy when validated by samples in the same season.The global overall accuracy from combined best seasonal results was 67.2% when classifying the 11 Level-1 classes in the Finer Resolution Observation and Monitoring of Global Land Cover(FROM-GLC) classification system.The use of training samples from all seasons(named all-season training sample set hereafter) produced an overall accuracy of 67.0%.We also tested classification within 10° latitude 60° longitude zones using all-season training subsample within each zone and obtained an overall accuracy of 70.2%.This indicates that properly grouped subsamples in space can help improve classification accuracies.All the results in this study seem to suggest that it is possible to use an all-season training sample set to reach global optimality with universal applicability in classifying images acquired at any time of a year for global land cover mapping.Congcong Li Peng Gong Jie Wang Zhiliang Zhu Gregory S. 3A practical guide to amplicon and metagenomic analysis of microbiome data显示文摘Advances in high-throughput sequencing(HTS)have fostered rapid developments in the field of microbiome research,and massive microbiome datasets are now being generated.However,the diversity of software tools and the complexity of analysis pipelines make it difficult to access this field.Here,we systematically summarize the advantages and limitations of microbiome methods.Then,we recommend specific pipelines for amplicon and metagenomic analyses,and describe commonly-used software and databases,to help researchers select the appropriate tools.Furthermore,we introduce statistical and visualization methods suitable for microbiome analysis,including alpha-and betadiversity,taxonomic composition,difference comparisons,correlation,networks,machine learning,evolution,source tracing,and common visualization styles to help researchers make informed choices.Finally,a stepby-step reproducible analysis guide is introduced.We hope this review will allow researchers to carry out data analysis more effectively and to quickly select the appropriate tools in order to efficiently mine the biological significance behind the data.Yong-Xin Liu Yuan Qin Tong Chen Meiping Lu Xubo Qian Xiaoxuan Guo Yang Bai 2021Protein & Cell2021,12,5:20
4Microfluidic Generation of Microsprings with Ionic Liquid Encapsulation for Flexible Electronics显示文摘Inspired by helical or spiral veins,which endow plants with excellent fexibility and elasticity to withstand storms,we present novel hollow microsprings with ionic liquid encapsulation for fexible and stretchable electronics.Te microsprings were generated by using a coaxial capillary microfuidic device to consecutively spin poly(vinylidene fuoride)(PVDF)presolution and an ionic liquid,which formed laminar fows in the coaxial injection microfuidic channels.Te fast phase inversion of PVDF helps to form the core-shell structure of a microfber and guarantees the in situ encapsulation of ionic liquid.Te hybrid microfber can then spiral and be further solidifed to maintain the helical structure with increasing fow rates of the injection fuids.Because of the feasible and precise control of the injection fuids during the microfuidic spinning,the resultant microsprings have controlled core-shell structures,helical pitches,and corresponding electromechanical properties.By further embedding them into stretchable flms,the simple paradigm of a fexible device shows great conductive performance in tensile tests and even motion cycles,which could be explored as a promising candidate in stretchable sensors,fexible electronics,and electronic skins.Yunru Yu Jiahui Guo Lingyu Sun Xiaoxuan Zhang Yuanjin Zhao 2019Research2019,,1:14
5Host-Associated Quantitative Abundance Profiling Reveals the Microbial Load Variation of Root Microbiome显示文摘Plant-associated microbes are critical for plant growth and survival under natural environmental conditions.To date,most plant microbiome studies involving high-throughput amplicon sequencing have focused on the relative abundance of microbial taxa.However,this technique does not assess the total microbial load and the abundance of individual microbes relative to the amount of host plant tissues.Here,we report the development of a host-associated quantitative abundance profiling(HA-QAP)method that can accurately examine total microbial load and colonization of individual root microbiome members relative to host plants by the copy-number ratio of microbial marker gene to plant genome.We validate the HAQAP method using mock experiments,perturbation experiments,and metagenomic sequencing.The HA-QAP method eliminates the generation of spurious outputs in the classical method based on microbial relative abundance,and reveals the load of root microbiome to host plants.Using the HA-QAP method,we found that the copy-number ratios of microbial marker genes to plant genome range from 1.07 to 6.61 for bacterial 16S rRNA genes and from 0.40 to 2.26 for fungal internal transcribed spacers in the root microbiome samples from healthy rice and wheat.Furthermore,using HA-QAP we found that an increase in total microbial load represents a key feature of changes in root microbiome of rice plants exposed to drought stress and of wheat plants with root rot disease,which significantly influences patterns of differential taxa and species interaction networks.Given its accuracy and technical feasibility,HA-QAP would facilitate our understanding of genuine interactions between root microbiome and plants.Xiaoxuan Guo Xiaoning Zhang Yuan Qin Yong-Xin Liu Jingying Zhang Na Zhang Kun Wu Baoyuan Qu Zishan He Xin Wang Xinjian Zhang Stephane Hacquard Xiangdong Fu Yang Bai 2020Plant Communications2020,1,1:3
6Fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5)/PM_(1.0)) in Beijing,China: Variations and chemical compositions as well as sources显示文摘Particulate matter(i.e.,PM_(1.0) and PM_(2.5)),considered as the key atmospheric pollutants,exerts negative effects on visibility,global climate,and human health by associated chemical compositions.However,our understanding of PM and its chemical compositions in Beijing under the current atmospheric environment is still not complete after witnessing marked alleviation during 2013–2017.Continuous measurements can be crucial for further air quality improvement by better characterizing PM pollution and chemical compositions in Beijing.Here,we conducted simultaneous measurements on PM in Beijing during 2018–2019.Results indicate that annualmean PM_(1.0) and PM_(2.5) concentrations were 35.49±18.61μg/m^(3) and 66.58±60.17μg/m^(3),showing a positive response to emission controls.The contribution of sulfate,nitrate,and ammonium(SNA)played an enhanced role with elevated PM loading and acted as the main contributors to pollution episodes.Discrepancies observed among chemical species between PM_(1.0) and PM_(2.5) in spring suggest that sand particles trend to accumulate in the range of 1–2.5μm.Pollution episodes occurred accompanied with southerly clusters and high formation of SNA by heterogeneous reactions in summer and winter,respectively.Results from positive matrix factorization(PMF)combined with potential source contribution function(PSCF)models showed that potential areas were seasonal dependent,secondary and vehicular sources became much more important compared with previous studies in Beijing.Our study presented a continuous investigation on PM and sources origins in Beijing,which provides a better understanding for further emission control as well as a reference for other cities in developing countries.Lining Luo Xiaoxuan Bai Shuhan Liu Bobo Wu Wei Liu Yunqian Lv Zhihui Guo Shumin Lin Shuang Zhao Yan Hao Jiming Hao Kai Zhang Aihua Zheng Hezhong Tian 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,11:3

9Linkages of flow regime and micro-topography:prediction for non-native mangrove invasion under sea-level rise显示文摘Flow regime is a key driver of invasive aquatic organisms,and the invasiveness of mangrove species may be simultaneously attributed to plant traits and flowing hydrological conditions at the estuary scale.We focused on hydrological and topographic conditions for a non-native mangrove species,Sonneratia apetala,in Zhangjiang Estuary of Fujian,China.A hydrological model and a micro-topographic model were used to predict its dispersal and early establishment,and field surveys and simulated experiments were integrated to estimate its future dispersal patterns.The mesohaline mudflat with a salinity of 8~10 PSU at the mangrove seaward edge was the most likely colonization area for S.apetala under current conditions.The south-western region of the estuary with native mangroves was the most likely area for its colonization according to the unstructured-grid finite-volume community ocean model(FVCOM)in September,when the largest tidal currents within a year and the maximum fruit maturity period occur.Approximately 42%of the mudflats throughout the whole estuary may be available for seedling establishment under the future sea-level rise RCP 4.5 scenarios compared with 44%for current establishment;however,the RCP 8.5 scenarios would significantly decrease seedling establishment by 2100 due to serious tidal inundation according to the micro-topographical model.Luzhen Chen Hongyu Feng Xiaoxuan Gu Ying Dong Peng Cheng Xudong Guo Qiulian Lin Ting Tang Yihui Zhang Xudong Zhu Shengchang Yang 2020Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2020,6,1:1
10Cholesterol-associated lysosomal disorder triggers cell death of hematological malignancy:Dynamic analysis on cytotoxic effects of LW-218显示文摘The integrity of lysosomes is of vital importance to survival of tumor cells.We demonstrated that LW-218,a synthetic flavonoid,induced rapid lysosomal enlargement accompanied with lysosomal membrane permeabilization in hematological malignancy.LW-218-induced lysosomal damage and lysosome-dependent cell death were mediated by cathepsin D,as the lysosomal damage and cell apoptosis could be suppressed by depletion of cathepsin D or lysosome alkalization agents,which can alter the activity of cathepsins.Lysophagy,was initiated for cell self-rescue after LW-218 treatment and correlated with calcium release and nuclei translocation of transcription factor EB.LW-218 treatment enhanced the expression of autophagy-related genes which could be inhibited by intracellular calcium chelator.Sustained exposure to LW-218 exhausted the lysosomal capacity so as to repress the normal autophagy.LW-218-induced enlargement and damage of lysosomes were triggered by abnormal cholesterol deposition on lysosome membrane which caused by interaction between LW-218 and NPC intracellular cholesterol transporter 1.Moreover,LW-218 inhibited the leukemia cell growth in vivo.Thus,the necessary impact of integral lysosomal function in cell rescue and death were illustrated.Po Hu Hui Li Wenzhuo Sun Hongzheng Wang Xiaoxuan Yu Yingjie Qing Zhanyu Wang Mengyuan Zhu Jingyan Xu Qinglong Guo Hui Hui 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,10:1
11OBV(obscure vein),a C_(2)H_(2)zinc finger transcription factor,positively regulates chloroplast development and bundle sheath extension formation in tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)leaf veins显示文摘Leaf veins play an important role in plant growth and development,and the bundle sheath(BS)is believed to greatly improve the photosynthetic efficiency of C_(4) plants.The OBV mutation in tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)results in dark veins and has been used widely in processing tomato varieties.However,physiological performance has difficulty explaining fitness in production.In this study,we confirmed that this mutation was caused by both the increased chlorophyll content and the absence of bundle sheath extension(BSE)in the veins.Using genome-wide association analysis and map-based cloning,we revealed that OBV encoded a C_(2)H_(2) L domain class transcription factor.It was localized in the nucleus and presented cell type-specific gene expression in the leaf veins.Furthermore,we verified the gene function by generating CRISPR/Cas9 knockout and overexpression mutants of the tomato gene.RNA sequencing analysis revealed that OBV was involved in regulating chloroplast development and photosynthesis,which greatly supported the change in chlorophyll content by mutation.Taken together,these findings demonstrated that OBV affected the growth and development of tomato by regulating chloroplast development in leaf veins.This study also provides a solid foundation to further decipher the mechanism of BSEs and to understand the evolution of photosynthesis in land plants.Jinghua Lu Chunyang Pan Xin Li Zejun Huang Jinshuai Shu Xiaoxuan Wang Xiaoxiao Lu Feng Pan Junling Hu Hui Zhang Wenyue Su Min Zhang Yongchen Du Lei Liu Yanmei Guo Junming Li 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:1

14High-performance self-powered ultraviolet to near-infrared photodetector based on WS_(2)/InSe van der Waals heterostructure显示文摘van der Waals heterostructures(vdWHs)based on two-dimensional(2D)materials without the crystal lattice matching constraint have great potential for high-performance optoelectronic devices.Herein,a WS_(2)/InSe vdWH photodiode is proposed and fabricated by precisely stacking InSe and WS_(2)flakes through an all-dry transfer method.The WS_(2)/InSe vdWH forms an n–n heterojunction with strong built-in electric field due to their intrinsic n-type semiconductor characteristics and energy-band alignments with a large Fermi level offset between WS_(2)and InSe.As a result,the device displays excellent photovoltaic behavior with a large open voltage of 0.47 V and a short-circuit current of 11.7 nA under 520 nm light illumination.Significantly,a fast rising/decay time of 63/76μs,a large light on/off ratio of 105,a responsivity of 61 mA/W,a high detectivity of 2.5×10^(11) Jones,and a broadband photoresponse ranging from ultraviolet to near-infrared(325–980 nm)are achieved at zero bias.This study provides a strategy for developing high-performance self-powered broadband photodetectors based on 2D materials.Jinping Chen Zhen Zhang Yi Ma Jiying Feng Xiaoyu Xie Xiaoxuan Wang Aoqun Jian Yuanzheng Li Zhuxin Li Heng Guo Yizhi Zhu Qiannan Cui Zengliang Shi Chunxiang Xu 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:1
15The advantages of penehyclidine hydrochloride over atropine in acute organophosphorus pesticide poisoning:A meta-analysis显示文摘Background:Penehyclidine hydrochloride(PHC)has been used for many years as an anticholinergic drug for the treatment of acute organophosphorus pesticide poisoning(AOPP).The purpose of this meta-analysis was to explore whether PHC has advantages over atropine in the use of anticholinergic drugs in AOPP.Methods:We searched Scopus,Embase,Cochrane,PubMed,ProQuest,Ovid,Web of Science,China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP),Duxiu,Chinese Biomedical literature(CBM),WanFang,and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),from inception to March 2022.After all qualified randomized controlled trials(RCTs)were included,we conducted quality evaluation,data extraction,and statistical analysis.Statistics using risk ratios(RR),weighted mean difference(WMD),and standard mean difference(SMD).Results:Our meta-analysis included 20,797 subjects from 240 studies across 242 different hospitals in China.Compared with the atropine group,the PHC group showed decreased mortality rate(RR=0.20,95%confidence intervals[CI]:0.16–0.25,P<0.001),hospitalization time(WMD=-3.89,95%CI:-4.37 to-3.41,P<0.001),overall incidence rate of complications(RR=0.35,95%CI:0.28–0.43,P<0.001),overall incidence of adverse reactions(RR=0.19,95%CI:0.17–0.22,P<0.001),total symptom disappearance time(SMD=-2.13,95%CI:-2.35 to-1.90,P<0.001),time for cholinesterase activity to return to normal value 50–60%(SMD=-1.87,95%CI:-2.03 to-1.70,P<0.001),coma time(WMD=-5.57,95%CI:-7.20 to-3.95,P<0.001),and mechanical ventilation time(WMD=-2.16,95%CI:-2.79 to-1.53,P<0.001).Conclusion:PHC has several advantages over atropine as an anticholinergic drug in AOPP.Siyao Zeng Lei Ma Lishan Yang Xiaodong Hu Cheng Wang Xinxin Guo Yi Li Yi Gou Yao Zhang Shengming Li Shaotong Zhang Xiaoxuan Wu Meihong Li Jing Lei Bingqian Li Chengfei Bi Like Ma Qingpeng Luo 2023Journal of Intensive Medicine2023,3,2:0
16Assessing the contribution of global wildfire biomass burning to BaP contamination in the Arctic显示文摘Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)have become cause for growing concern in the Arctic ecosystems,partly due to their stable levels despite global emission reduction.Wildfire is considered one of the primary sources that influence PAH levels and trends in the Arctic,but quantitative investigations of this influence are still lacking.This study estimates the global emissions of benzo[a]pyrene(BaP),a congener of PAHs with high carcinogenicity,from forest and grassland fires from 2001 to 2020 and simulates the contributions of wildfire-induced BaP emissions from different source regions to BaP contamination in the Arctic.We find that global wildfires contributed 29.3%to annual averaging BaP concentrations in the Arctic from 2001 to 2020.Additionally,we show that wildfires contributed significantly to BaP concentrations in the Arctic after 2011,enhancing it from 10.1%in 2011 to 83.9%in 2020.Our results reveal that wildfires accounted for 94.2%and 50.8%of BaP levels in the Asian Arctic during boreal summer and autumn,respectively,and 74.2%and 14.5%in the North American Arctic for the same seasons.The source-tagging approach identified that local wildfire biomass emissions were the largest source of BaP in the Arctic,accounting for 65.7%of its concentration,followed by those of Northern Asia(17.8%)and Northern North America(13.7%).Our findings anticipate wildfires to play a larger role in Arctic PAH contaminations alongside continually decreasing anthropogenic emissions and climate warming in the future.Shijie Song Boqi Chen Tao Huang Shuxin Ma Luqian Liu Jinmu Luo Huizhong Shen Jiaxin Wang Liang Guo Min Wu Xiaoxuan Mao Yuan Zhao Hong Gao Jianmin Ma 2023Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2023,,2:0
