2Nitrogen and phosphorus balance analysis of cultivated land in Jiangsu plain,China显示文摘Jiangsu plain is located along the downstream of the Yangtze River, the north part of which is also the coast area of the Yellow Sea. The specific location makes the local environmental issues regionally important. This paper studied arable land area, plantation structure, livestock sector data, which shows that livestock sector contributes a big amount of nitrogen and phosphorus, in terms of the demand from the agriculture use in Jiangsu plain. But actually, there is still much mineral fertiliser used in agriculture, which causes the N and P produced from livestock sector being an important source of pollution to the environment. 3Effect of thermo-mechanical treatment on mechanical and elastic properties of Ti–36Nb–5Zr alloy显示文摘The evolutions of phase constitutions and mechanical properties of a β-phase Ti–36Nb–5Zr(wt%) alloy during thermo-mechanical treatment were investigated. The alloy consisted of dual(β t α″) phase and exhibited a double yielding phenomenon in solution treated state. After cold rolling and subsequent annealing at 698 K for 20 min, an excellent combination of high strength(833 MPa) and low modulus(46 GPa) was obtained. The high strength can be attributed to high density of dislocations, nanosized α phase and grain refinement. On the other hand, the low Young's modulus originates from the suppression of chemical stabilization of β phase during annealing, which guarantees the low β-phase stability. Furthermore, the single-crystal elastic constants of the annealed Ti–36Nb–5Zr alloy were extracted from polycrystalline alloy using an in-situ synchrotron X-ray technique. The results indicated that the low shear modulus C44 contributes to the low Young's modulus for the Ti–36Nb–5Zr alloy, suggesting that reducing C44 through thermo-mechanical treatment might be an efficient approach to realize low Young's modulus in β-phase Ti alloys. 5Holocene climatic and environmental changes recorded in Baahar Nuur Lake core in the Ordos Plateau, Inner Mongolia of China显示文摘A 5.3 m lake core was drilled in Baahar Nuur Lake in the Ordos Plateau, and measurements of meangrain size, organic δ 13C (δ 13Corg), organic carbon content (TOC), C/N, carbonate content, carbonate δ 13C(δ 13Ccar) and δ 18O (δ 18Ocar) were conducted for retrieving the Holocene chronosequence of climaticchanges based on 15 AMS 14C dates. The record documented four major stages of climate change inthe Ordos Plateau: (IV) a cold and dry condition before ~7.65 14C ka BP; (III) a warm and humid stagebetween ~7.65 and ~5.40 ka BP; (II) a generally drier and cooler climate since ~5.40 ka BP with twohumid events occurring from ~4.70 to ~4.60 ka BP and from ~4.20 to ~3.70 ka BP, and (I) a dry climatecharacterized by complete desiccation of the lake after 3.70 ka BP. 6Mineral Potential Mapping for Tungsten Polymetallic Deposits in the Nanling Metallogenic Belt, South China显示文摘The Nanling belt in South China has considerable resources of tungsten polymetallic commodities and is one of the most important metallogenic belts in the world. Data-driven weights-of-evidence(WofE) and fuzzy logic models are used to evaluate the tungsten polymetallic potential of the Nanling belt. Initially, seven ore-controlling factors derived from multi-source geospatial datasets(e.g., geological, geochemical, and geophysical) are used for data integration in the two models. Two mineral potential maps are generated that efficiently predicate the locations of the deposits. The WofE map predicate 81% of the deposits within 13.6% of the study area, whereas the fuzzy logic map predicate 81.5% of the deposits within 13% of the area. The predictive maps are syntheses of spatial association rules, which provide better understanding of those factors that control the distribution of mineralization and trigger eventual exploration work in new areas. Subsequently, in order to evaluate the success rate accuracy, the receiver operating characteristic curves and area under the curves(AUCs) for the two potential maps are constructed. The results show that the AUCs for the WofE and fuzzy logic models are 0.775 7 and 0.840 6, respectively. The higher AUC value for the fuzzy logic model implies that it delineate a greater number of favorable areas compared with the WofE model. 7ASAF: altered spontaneous activity fingerprinting in Alzheimer’s disease based on multisite fMRI显示文摘Several monocentric studies have noted alterations in spontaneous brain activity in Alzheimer's disease (AD), although there is no consensus on the altered amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations in AD patients. The main aim of the present study was to identify a reliable and reproducible abnormal brain activity pattern in AD. The amplitude of local brain activity (AM), which can provide fast mapping of spontaneous brain activity across the whole brain, was evaluated based on multisite rs-fMRI data for 688 subjects (215 normal controls (NCs), 221 amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) 252 AD). Two-sample t-tests were used to detect group differences between AD patients and NCs from the same site. Differences in the AM maps were statistically analyzed via the Stouffer's meta-analysis. Consistent regions of lower spontaneous brain activity in the default mode network and increased activity in the bilateral hippocampus/parahippocampus, thalamus, caudate nucleus, orbital part of the middle frontal gyrus and left fusiform were observed in the AD patients compared with those in NCs. 8Short-term biochar effect on soil physicochemical and microbiological properties of a degraded alpine grassland显示文摘Soil remediation is an important part of the restoration process of degraded terrestrial ecosystems.Due to its unique properties,biochar is being used widely as an effective soil modifier in agricultural systems,but research is still rare on biochar application in grassland ecosystems,especially in degraded alpine grasslands.In this study,we conducted a plot experiment to investigate the effect of biochar application on soil physicochemical properties and microorganisms at the 0–20 cm soil depth of a degraded alpine grassland in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,China.The experiment consisted of four corn straw biochar application levels(0%,0.5%,1%and 2%,with the percentage representing the ratio of biochar weight to the dry weight of soil in the surface 20 cm soil layer).When the biochar addition increased from 0%to 2%,total nitrogen,total organic carbon and available phosphorus in the 0–10 cm soil layer increased by 41%,55%and 45%,respectively,in the second year after biochar addition.Meanwhile,soil electrical conductivity decreased,and soil water content increased.Total microbial,fungal and bacterial biomasses in the 0–10 cm soil layer increased from 9.15 to 12.68,0.91 to 1.34,and 3.85 to 4.55μg g^(-1),respectively.The relative biomasses of saprophytic fungi and methanotrophic bacteria decreased,while the relative biomasses of ectomycorrhizal fungi and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi increased.These results indicate that biochar has a great potential in improving microbial activity and soil fertility in soil remediation of the degraded alpine grassland.Jinsheng LI Xinqing SHAO Ding HUANG Kesi LIU Jianying SHANG Qian ZHANG Tianci ZHAO Xiaomeng YANG 2022Pedosphere2022,32,3:3
9Heterostructured ZnFe_2O_4/Fe_2TiO_5/TiO_2 Composite Nanotube Arrays with an Improved Photocatalysis Degradation Efficiency Under Simulated Sunlight Irradiation显示文摘To improve the visible light absorption and photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide nanotube arrays(TONTAs), ZnFe_2O_4(ZFO) nanocrystals were perfused into pristine TONTA pipelines using a novel bias voltageassisted perfusion method. ZFO nanocrystals were well anchored on the inner walls of the pristine TONTAs when the ZFO suspensions(0.025 mg m L^(-1)) were kept under a60 V bias voltage for 1 h. After annealing at 750 °C for2 h, the heterostructured ZFO/Fe_2 TiO_5(FTO)/TiO_2 composite nanotube arrays were successfully obtained. Furthermore, Fe^(3+)was reduced to Fe^(2+)when solid solution reactions occurred at the interface of ZFO and the pristine TONTAs. Introducing ZFO significantly enhanced thevisible light absorption of the ZFO/FTO/TONTAs relative to that of the annealed TONTAs. 11A β-type TiNbZr alloy with low modulus and high strength for biomedical applications显示文摘The effect of thermo-mechanical treatment on the mechanical properties of a novel β-type Ti–36Nb–5Zr(wt%) alloy has been investigated.The solution treated alloy consists of β and α″ phases and exhibits a two-stage yielding with a low yield stress(around 100 MPa). After cold rolling at a reduction of 87.5% and subsequent annealing treatment at 698 K for 25 min, a fine microstructure with nanosized α precipitates distributed in small β grains as well as high density of dislocations was obtained to achieve a yield strength of 720 MPa and a ultimate tensile strength of 860 MPa. In spite of the formation of α precipitates, the β-stabilizers are not enriched in the parent β matrix due to the short duration and low temperature of the thermal treatment, resulting in a low chemical stability of β phase. The low stability of β phase and the small volume fraction of α precipitates produce a low Young's modulus of 48 GPa. 12Effects of live rock on removal of dissolved inorganic nitrogen in coral aquaria显示文摘Maintaining stable water quality is one of the key processes for recirculating coral aquaculture. Traditional aquarium systems which mainly utilized a nitrification of nitrifying bacteria attached to the surface of massive artificial filter material are difficult to maintain the oligotrophic conditions necessary for coral aquaculture. This study investigated the removal effects of dissolved inorganic nitrogen(ammonia and nitrate) by live rock(LR), a key component in the 'Berlin system' coral aquarium. The expression levels of bacterial functional genes, AOA3,amo A and nos Z, were measured on the exterior and interior of LR. The nitrifying and denitrifying bacterial abundance on LR was quantified and the nitrogen nutrient regulatory effects of LR were evaluated. The results demonstrated that LR mainly removed ammonium(NH_4^+) from the water with a mean efficiency of 0.141 mg/(kg·h), while the removal of nitrate(NO_3~–) was not significant. Bacterial diversity analysis showed that ammonia-oxidizing bacteria(AOB) were the most common bacteria on LR, which accounted for 0.5%–1.4% of the total bacterial population, followed by denitrifying bacteria, which accounted for 0.2% of the total population, and the ammonia-oxidizing archaea(AOA) were the least common type(<0.01%). The low abundance of denitrifying bacteria may be responsible for the poor nitrate(NO_3~–) removal of LR. 15Operando reconstruction towards stable CuI nanodots with favorable facets for selective CO_(2) electroreduction to C2H4显示文摘Cu-based electrocatalysts with favorable facets and Cu^(+)can boost CO_(2) reduction to valuable multicarbon products.However,the inevitable Cu^(+)reduction and the phase evolution usually result in poor performance.Herein,we fabricate CuI nanodots with favorable(220)facets and a stable Cu^(+)state,accomplished by operando reconstruction of Cu(OH)_(2) under CO_(2)-and I--containing electrolytes for enhanced CO_(2)-to-C_(2)H_(4) conversion.Synchrotron X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS),in-situ Raman spectroscopy and thermodynamic potential analysis reveal the preferred formation of CuI.Vacuum gas electroresponse and density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that CO_(2)-related species induce the exposure of the(220)plane of Cu I.Moreover,the small size of nanodots enables the adequate contact with I^(-),which guarantees the rapid formation of Cu I instead of the electroreduction to Cu^(0).As a result,the resulting catalysts exhibit a high C2H4 Faradaic efficiency of 72.4%at a large current density of 800 m A cm^(-2) and robust stability for 12 h in a flow cell.Combined in-situ ATR-SEIRS spectroscopic characterizations and DFT calculations indicate that the(220)facets and stable Cu^(+) in CuI nanodots synergistically facilitate CO_(2)/*CO adsorption and*CO dimerization.Wenjie Xue Hongxia Liu Xinqing Chen Xiaoju Yang Ruoou Yang Youwen Liu Minghao Li Xuan Yang Bao Yu Xia Bo You 2023Science China Chemistry2023,66,6:1
16Brasenia-inspired hydrogel with sustained and sequential release of BMP and WNT activators for improved bone regeneration显示文摘Although bone morphogenetic protein(BMP) and WNT signaling play pivotal roles in bone development,homeostasis, and regeneration, the applications of proteins to stimulate corresponding signaling pathways showed limited outcomes in the repair and regeneration of bone defects that might be attributed to the reciprocal interventions of these pathways. In order to satisfy the combinational and sequential activation of BMP and WNT pathways, inspired by the heterogeneous hydrogel-liked structures of Brasenia, heterogeneous alginate/chitosan hydrogels were fabricated and spatially loaded with FK506 and BIO to achieve sustained and sequential release of the activators. Alkaline phosphatase staining, alizarin red staining and q RT-PCR results suggested that FK506 and BIO enhanced osteoblastic differentiation in vitro when used separately. Besides, by mixing and matching the activators and the hydrogel layers, a superior releasing mode that a combination of early FK506 release and following BIO release was identified via both in vitro and in vivo explorations for most efficient bone regeneration. 19Electronic energy loss and ion velocity correlation effects in track production in swift-ion-irradiated LiNbO_(3):A quantitative assessment between structural damage morphology and energy deposition显示文摘The primary motivation for studying how irradiation modifies the structures and properties of solid materials involves the understanding of undesirable phenomena,including irradiation-induced degradation of components in nuclear reactors and space exploration,and beneficial applications,including material performance tailoring through ion beam modification and defect engineering.In this work,the formation mechanism of latent tracks with different damage morphologies in LiNbO_(3)crystals under 0.09-6.17 Me V/u ion irradiation with an electronic energy loss from 2.6-13.2 ke V/nm is analyzed by experimental characterizations and numerical calculations.Irradiation-induced damage is preliminarily evaluated via the prism coupling technique to analyze the correlation between the dark-mode spectra and energy loss profiles of irradiated regions.Under the irradiation conditions of different ion velocities and electronic energy losses,different damage morphologies,from individual spherical defects to discontinuous and continuous tracks,are experimentally characterized.During ion penetration process,the ion velocity determines the spatiotemporal distribution of deposited irradiation energy induced by electronic energy loss,meaning that the two essential factors including electronic energy loss and ion velocity coaffect the track damage.The inelastic thermal spike model is used to numerically calculate the spatiotemporal evolutions of energy deposition and the corresponding atomic temperature under different irradiation conditions,and a quantitative relationship is proposed by comparison with corresponding experimentally observed track damage morphologies.The obtained quantitative relationship between irradiation conditions and track damage provides deep insight and guidance for understanding the damage behavior of crystal materials in extreme radiation environments and selecting irradiation parameters,including ion species and energies,for ion beam technique application in atomic-level defect manipulation,material modification,and micro/nanofabrication.Xinqing Han Qing Huang Miguel L.Crespillo Eva Zarkadoula Yong Liu Xuelin Wang Peng Liu 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,21:0
20The effect of seafloor topography in the Southern Ocean on tabular iceberg drifting and grounding显示文摘Antarctic tabular icebergs are important active components in the ice sheet-ice shelf-ocean system.Seafloor topography is the key factor that affects the drifting and grounding of icebergs,but it has not been fully investigated.This study analyzes the impact of seafloor topography on the drifting and grounding of Antarctic tabular icebergs using Bedmap-2 datasets and iceberg route tracking data from Brigham Young University.The results highlight the following points.(1) The quantitative distributions of iceberg grounding events and the tracking points of grounded icebergs are mainly affected by iceberg draft and reach their peak values in sea water with depths between 200 m and 300 m.The peak tracking point number and linear velocity of free-drifting icebergs are found in the Antarctic Slope Front(water depth of approximately 500 m).(2) The area of possible grounding regions of small-scale icebergs calved from ice shelf fronts accounts for 28%of the sea area at water depths less than 2000 m outside the Antarctic coastline periphery(3.62 million km2).Their spatial distribution is mainly around East Antarctica and the Antarctic Peninsula.The area of possible grounding regions of large tabular icebergs with long axes larger than 18.5 km(in water depths of less than 800 m) accounts for 74%of the sea area.(3) The iceberg drifting velocity is positively correlated with ocean depth in areas where the depth is less than 2000 m(R=0.85,P<0.01).This result confirms the effect of water depth variations induced by seafloor topography fluctuations on iceberg drifting velocity.LI Tian LIU Yan CHENG Xiao OUYANG LunXi LI XinQing LIU JiPing Mohammed SHOKR HUI FengMing ZHANG Jing WEN JiaHong 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,4:0
