1A preventive control strategy for static voltage stability based on an efficient power plant model of electric vehicles显示文摘With the increasing integration of wind farms and electric vehicles(EVs)in power systems,voltage stability is becoming more and more serious.Based on vehicle-to-grid(V2G),an efficient power plant model of EVs(E-EPP)was developed to estimate EV charging load with available corresponding response capacity under different charging strategies.A preventive control strategy based on E-EPP was proposed to maintain the static voltage stability margin(VSM)of power system above a predefined security level.Two control modes were used including the disconnection of EV charging load(‘V1G’mode)and the discharge of stored battery energy back to power grid(‘V2G’mode).A modified IEEE 14-bus system with high penetration of wind power and EVs was used to verify the effectiveness of preventive control strategy.Simulation results showed that the proposed strategy can not only improve the static voltage stability of power system with considerable wind generation,but also guarantee the travelling comfort for EV owners.Mingshen WANG Yunfei MU Hongjie JIA Jianzhong WU Xiuping YAO Xiaodan YU Janaka EKANAYAKE 2015Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2015,3,1:25

4Transcription factor WRKY22 regulates canker susceptibility in sweet orange (Citrus sinensis Osbeck) by enhancing cell enlargement and CsLOB1 expression显示文摘Pathological hypertrophy(cell enlargement)plays an important role in the development of citrus canker,but its regulators are largely unknown.Although WRKY22 is known to be involved in pathogen-triggered immunity and positively regulates resistance to bacterial pathogens in Arabidopsis,rice and pepper,the CRISPR/Cas9-mediated partial knockout of CsWRKY22 improves resistance to Xanthomonas citri subsp.citri(Xcc)in Wanjincheng orange(Citrus sinensis Osbeck).Here,we demonstrate that CsWRKY22 is a nucleus-localized transcriptional activator.CsWRKY22-overexpressing plants exhibited dwarf phenotypes that had wrinkled and thickened leaves and were more sensitive to Xcc,whereas CsWRKY22-silenced plants showed no visible phenotype changes and were more resistant to Xcc.Microscopic observations revealed that the overexpression of CsWRKY22 increased cell size in the spongy mesophyll.Transcriptome analysis showed that cell growth-related pathways,such as the auxin and brassinosteroid hormonal signaling and cell wall organization and biogenesis pathways,were significantly upregulated upon CsWRKY22 overexpression.Interestingly,CsWRKY22 activated the expression of CsLOB1,which is a key gene regulating susceptibility to citrus canker.We further confirmed that CsWRKY22 bound directly to the W-boxes just upstream of the transcription start site of CsLOB1 in vivo and in vitro.We conclude that CsWRKY22 enhances susceptibility to citrus canker by promoting host hypertrophy and CsLOB1 expression.Thus,our study provides new insights into the mechanism regulating pathological hypertrophy and the function of WRKY22 in citrus.Qin Long Meixia Du Junhong Long Yu Xie Jingyun Zhang Lanzhen Xu Yongrui He Qiang Li Shanchun Chen Xiuping Zou 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:5

6Potential mechanism of Huatan Qushi decoction on improving phlegm-dampness constitution using microRNA array and RT-qPCR targeting on hsa-miR-1237e3p显示文摘Background:Metabolic diseases pose considerable burden on the healthcare system worldwide,indicating the significance of prevention and treatment.In constitution theory of traditional Chinese medicine,phlegm-dampness constitution(PDC)is the common basis of metabolic diseases.In clinical practice,Huatan Qushi(HTQS)decoction targeting on PDC can effectively improve metabolic indicators.However,its underlying biochemical mechanism still remains unclear.Methods:Eight PDC participants received HTQS decoction for three months.Their blood was collected at baseline and 1 and 3 months after intervention started.Related biomedical indicators were detected.High-throughput sequencing and RT-qPCR were used for validation.Due to the missing data,repeated measures with missing values in mixed models were used.Results:After 3-month treatment,HDL-C level increased(P<.001)and FBG,FINS,and HbA1c all showed decreasing trend at different time points(all P<.05).After miRNA high-throughput sequencing,compared with the baseline,differential miRNAs at 1 and 3 months were screened,and target gene prediction and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis were performed.The results displayed that metabolic disease-related pathways mainly included pathways in cancer,PI3K-Akt signaling pathway,etc.Further,RT-qPCR showed that hsa-miR-1237e3p differed statistically(P=.008).Then we validated the target genes of hsa-miR-1237e3p in the“Pathways in Cancer”pathway including SDF1,AC,CRK,and HGF,also known as upstream target genes of PI3K/AKT pathway.The results showed that two indicators of CRK and HGF were in statistical significance(P=.045 and P=.036,respectively).Conclusion:PDC serves as a common basis for various metabolic diseases.Through adjusting PDC,HTQS decoction can improve biomedical indicators including blood glucose,HbA1c,insulin,and HDL-C.The target pathway is“Pathways in cancer”.Specifically,HTQS decoction acts on targets of CRK and HGF by regulating hsa-miR-1237e3p,and probably exerts effects on their downstream PI3K/AKT pathway.Xiuping Zhang Ji Wang Baoxing Liu Haiqiang Yao Yu Chen Yuqing Yin Xuejing Yang Lingru Li 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2021,8,1:3

8A survey of HIV infection and related high-risk factors among men who have sex with men in Suzhou,Jiangsu,China显示文摘A cross-sectional study using the snowball sampling method was conducted in May 2008 to investigate human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection status and related high risk factors among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Suzhou city of Jiangsu province. The researchers carried out a face-to-face questionnaire interview among MSM, and collected their blood samples to test for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Among the 280 respondents, 91.1% had homosexual acts in the past 6 months and 87.5% had multiple homosexual partners; 46.4% had heterosexual sex in the past 6 months and 33.1% had multiple heterosexual partners. The rate of continued condom use was 44.3% in homosexual sex in the past 6 months, while the rate in heterosexual sex was 33.9%. Laboratory test results showed that the prevalences of HIV and syphilis were 7.1% (20/280) and 15.0% (42/280), respectively, but no HCV-positive person was found. In the multivariate logistic regression model, subjects with a monthly income of more than RMB $ 1,000 (OR=4.83,95% CI=1.44-16.22), subjects who often went to bars for sexual partners (OR=2.25, 95%CI=1.21-4.20), and subjects who had more than one sexual partner in the past 6 months (OR=0.49, 95%CI=0.25-0.97) and had sex with fixed sexual partners in the past 6 months (OR=0.42, 95%CI=0.25-0.75) were significantly associated with the rate of continued condom use in homosexual sex in the past 6 months. Unprotected sex and multiple sexual partners were more common among MSM in Suzhou city; furthermore, the prevalences of HIV infection and syphilis were relatively high. 9SARS-CoV-2 crosses the blood-brain barrier accompanied with basement membrane disruption without tight junctions alteration显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 has been reported to show a capacity for invading the brains of humans and model animals.However,it remains undear whether and how SARS-CoV-2 crosses the blood-brain barrier(BBB).Herein,SARS-CoV-2 RNA was occasionally detected in the vascular wall and perivascular space,as well as in brain microvascular endothelial cells(BMECs)in the infected K18-hACE2 transgenic mice.Moreover,the permeability of the infected vessel was in creased.Furthermore,disin tegrity of BBB was discovered in the infected hamsters by administration of Evans blue.Interestingly,the expression of claudin5,ZO-1,occludin and the ultrastructure of tight junctions(TJs)showed unchanged,whereas,the basement membrane was disrupted in the infected animals.Using an in vitro BBB model that comprises primary BMECs with astrocytes,SARS-CoV-2 was found to infect and cross through the BMECs.Consistent with in vivo experiments,the expression of MMP9 was increased and collagen IV was decreased while the markers for TJs were not altered in the SARS-CoV-2-infected BMECs.Besides,inflammatory responses including vasculitis,glial activation,and upregulated inflammatory factors occurred after SARS-CoV-2 infection.Overall,our results provide evidence supporting that SARS-CoV-2 can cross the BBB in a transcellular pathway accompanied with basement membrane disrupted without obvious alteration of TJs.Ling Zhang Li Zhou Linlin Bao Jiangning Liu Hua Zhu Qi Lv Ruixue Liu Wei Chen Wei Tong Qiang Wei Yanfeng Xu Wei Deng-Hong Gao Jing Xue Zhiqi Song Pin Yu Yunlin Han Yu Zhang Xiuping Sun Xuan Yu Chuan Qin 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,10:2
10Mitochondrion-targeted PENTATRICOPEPTIDE REPEAT5 is required for cis-splicing of nad4 intron 3 and endosperm development in rice显示文摘Endosperm as the storage organ of starch and protein in cereal crops largely determines grain yield and quality.Despite the fact that several pentatricopeptide repeat(PPR)proteins required for endosperm development have been identified in rice,the molecular mechanisms of many P-type PPR proteins in endosperm development remains unclear.Here,we isolated a rice floury endosperm mutant ppr5 that developed small starch grains and an abnormal aleurone layer,accompanied by decreased starch,protein,and amylose contents.Map-based cloning combined with a complementation test demonstrated that PPR5 encodes a P-type PPR protein that is localized to the mitochondria.The mutation in PPR5 caused reduced splicing efficiency of mitochondrial NADH dehydrogenase 4(nad4)gene intron 3 and reduced complex I assembly and activity.Loss of PPR5 function greatly upregulated expression of alternative oxidases(AOXs),reduced ATP production,and affected mitochondrial morphology.We demonstrate that PPR5,as a P-type PPR protein,is required for mitochondrial function and endosperm development by controlling the cis-splicing of mitochondrial nad4 intron 3.Long Zhang Yanzhou Qi Mingming Wu Lei Zhao Zhichao Zhao Cailin Lei Yuanyuan Hao Xiaowen Yu Yinglun Sun Xin Zhang Xiuping Guo Yulong Ren Jianmin Wan 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,2:2
11Rice FLOURY ENDOSPERM 18 encodes a pentatricopeptide repeat protein required for 5′ processing of mitochondrial nad5 messenger RNA and endosperm development显示文摘Pentatricopeptide repeat(PPR) proteins, composing one of the largest protein families in plants,are involved in RNA binding and regulation of organelle RNA metabolism at the posttranscriptional level. Although several PPR proteins have been implicated in endosperm development in rice(Oryza sativa), the molecular functions of many PPRs remain obscure. Here, we identified a rice endosperm mutant named floury endosperm 18(flo18) with pleiotropic defects in both reproductive and vegetative development.Map-based cloning and complementation tests showed that FLO18 encodes a mitochondriontargeted P-type PPR protein with 15 PPR motifs.Mitochondrial function was disrupted in the flo18 mutant, as evidenced by decreased assembly of Complex I in the mitochondrial electron transport chain and altered mitochondrial morphology. Loss of FLO18 function resulted in defective 5′-end processing of mitochondrial nad5 transcripts encoding subunit 5 of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide hydrogenase. 12Mn-doped ZnS quantum dots/methyl violet nanohybrids for room temperature phosphorescence sensing of DNA显示文摘Mn-doped ZnS quantum dots/methyl violet nanohybrids were explored to develop a novel room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) sensor for the detection of DNA. Methyl violet (MV) as the electron acceptors was adsorbed on the surface of the quantum dots (QDs) to quench the RTP of the Mn-doped ZnS QDs through an electron-transfer process under excitation. The addition of DNA recovered the RTP signal of the Mn-doped ZnS QDs due to the binding of MV with DNA and the removal of MV from the surface of the Mn-doped ZnS QDs. Under the optimal conditions, the enhanced RTP intensity of the Mn-doped ZnS QDs/MV nanohybrids linearly increased with the concentration of DNA from 0.08 to 12 mg L-1 with the detection limit of 33.6 μg L-1. The relative standard deviation for eleven replicate detections of the reagent blank was 3.7%. 13Distinct neuronal excitability alterations of medial prefrontal cortex in early-life neglect model of rats显示文摘Object:Early-life neglect has irreversible emotional effects on the central nervous system.In this work,we aimed to elucidate distinct functional neural changes in me-dial prefrontal cortex(mPFC)of model rats.Methods:Maternal separation with early weaning was used as a rat model of early-life neglect.The excitation of glutamatergic and GABAergic neurons in rat mPFC was recorded and analyzed by whole-cell patch clamp.Results:Glutamatergic and GABAergic neurons of mPFC were distinguished by typi-cal electrophysiological properties.The excitation of mPFC glutamatergic neurons was significantly increased in male groups,while the excitation of mPFC GABAergic neurons was significant in both female and male groups,but mainly in terms of rest membrane potential and amplitude,respectively.Conclusions:Glutamatergic and GABAergic neurons in medial prefrontal cortex showed different excitability changes in a rat model of early-life neglect,which can contribute to distinct mechanisms for emotional and cognitive manifestations.Yu Zhang Xiuping Sun Changsong Dou Xianglei Li Ling Zhang Chuan Qin 2022Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2022,5,3:2

19Bioactive constituents of animal-derived traditional Chinese medicinal materials for breast cancer:opportunities and challenges显示文摘Breast cancer is globally the most common invasive cancer in women and remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths.Surgery,radiotherapy,chemotherapy,immunotherapy,and endocrine therapy are currently the main treatments for this cancer type.However,some breast cancer patients are prone to drug resistance related to chemotherapy or immunotherapy,resulting in limited treatment efficacy.Consequently,traditional Chinese medicinal materials(TCMMs)as natural products have become an attractive source of novel drugs.In this review,we summarized the current knowledge on the active components of animal-derived TCMMs,including Ophiocordyceps sinensis-derived cordycepin,the aqueous and ethanolic extracts of O.sinensis,norcantharidin(NCTD),Chansu,bee venom,deer antlers,Ostrea gigas,and scorpion venom,with reference to marked anti-breast cancer effects due to regulating cell cycle arrest,proliferation,apoptosis,metastasis,and drug resistance.In future studies,the underlying mechanisms for the antitumor effects of these components need to be further investigated by utilizing multi-omics technologies.Furthermore,large-scale clinical trials are necessary to validate the efficacy of bioactive constituents alone or in combination with chemotherapeutic drugs for breast cancer treatment.Chaochao YU Yi LI Guopeng CHEN Chaoyan WU Xiuping WANG Yingwen ZHANG 2022Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2022,23,7:1
