1Surface Characterization and Cell Response of Binary Ti-Ag Alloys with CP Ti as Material Control显示文摘In this study, the surface passive films, dissolution behavior and biocompatibility of Ti-Ag alloys (with 5%, 10% and 20% Ag) were evaluated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) tests, electrochemical corrosion tests, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) tests, dissolution tests and in-vitro cytotoxicity tests. The surface films on the Ti-20Ag alloy are rich in Ti and much deficient in Ag with respect to alloy composition, as identified by XPS. Compared to CP Ti, Ti-5Ag and Ti-20Ag alloys show larger impedances and lower capacitances, which can be associated with an increase of the passive layer thickness. Moreover, all Ti-Ag alloys exhibit negligible or low metal release in the test solutions. The in-vitro cytotoxicity results show Ti-Ag alloys seem to be as cytocompatible as CP Ti. From the viewpoint of surface passive film and cytotoxicity, Ti-5Ag and Ti-20Ag are considered to be more suitable for dental applications.B.B. Zhang K.J. Qiu B.L. Wang L. Li Y.F. 3STUDY ON STRUCTURES OF Al-CuAl_2 EUTECTIC SOLIDIFIED UNDER ELECTROMAGNETIC STIRRING显示文摘An investigation on electromagnetically-stirred solidification of Al-CuAl2 eutectic system is presented in this paper. With electromagnetic stirring in solidification, structural transition from lamellar to rod-like eutectic has been found in the as-cast structures, and provided strong stirring is applied, proeutectic growth of α-Al phase is enhanced. Moreover, the interphase spacing of eutectic is clearly increased with melt flow intensified. 4Characterization of high-pressure die-cast hypereutectic Al-Si alloys based on microstructural distribution and fracture morphology显示文摘The fracture behavior of high-pressure die-cast hypereutectic(HPDC) Al-Si alloys was investigated using a high-resolution laboratory CT and synchrotron X-ray tomography with a particular focus on the influence of HPDC microstructure. Results showed that microstructure of the alloy was mainly comprised of primary silicon particles(PSPs), Al dendrites, Cu-rich phases and pores. Most of the coarse PSPs, Cu-rich phases and pores were located in the center of the specimen. The rapid solidification of HPDC led to a heterogeneous microstructural feature. Elemental Cu was enriched in the frontiers of solid-liquid interface, causing the formation of large size dendritic arms. The pores were formed in the interdendrites which endured high stress intensity under high applied stress. Microcracks were originated from pores and further connected Cu-rich phases causing intergranular fracture. PSPs worked as obstacles causing piling-up dislocations in the phase interface. In the regions where large size of PSPs enriched in, PSPs ruptured rather than debonded from matrix, indicating transgranular fractures of PSPs. 7MICROSTRUCTURE AND MACROSEGREGATION OF Al-7%Si ALLOY SOLIDIFIED UNDER COMPLEX EFFECTS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC AND CENTRIFUGAL FORCES显示文摘Macrosegregations and microstructures of Al-7%Si alloy solidified under complex of fects of magnetic field and centrifugal forces are studied by means of a set of selfdesigned electromagnetic centrifugal casting (EMCC) device. It is shown that electromagnetic field (EMF) has an important effect on the macrosegregation of centrifugal casting specimen of Al-7%Si alloy in two respects: one is that there exists always a kind of convection in the liquid in front of the S/L interface caused by effect ofthe electromagnetic force; the other is that different atomic clusters of solidparticles with different physical characteristics are subjected to quite different electromagnetic (Lorentz) force. Therefore, their movements get changed. In addition, the formation process of a complex band structure consisting of primary α-Al dendrites and (α-Al+β-Si) eutectics in hypoeutectic Al-Si alloys during EMCC and the effect of EMF are discussed.Y.F. 8THE INFLUENCE OF Mo DIFFUSION ON THE THERMAL BEHAVIOR OF TBCs ON Ni_3Al BASED ALLOY IC-6显示文摘Conventional two-layered structure thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) were preparedonto γ'-Ni3Al based alloy IC-6 by electron beam physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD).Isothermal oxidation and thermal cycling tests were carried out to investigate theeffect of Mo content at the interface between bond coat and ceramic top coat causedby diffusion. It has been found that the alloy coated with TBCs presented the lowestoxidation weight gain value for the reason that the ceramic top coat in TBC systemcan effectively stop Mo oxides evaporating. The life time of TBCs has close relationwith Mo content at the interface between the bond coat and top coat. Spallation ofceramic top coat occurred during thermal cyclic testing when Mo atoms accumulatedat the interface up to certain amount to decline the combination between the bond coatand top coat.D.B. Electromagnetic stirring can lead to columnar formation in the cuter region and equiaxed in the inner, and otherwise cause the lamellae coarsened and the microstructure morphology to change from lamella to rod and then to block,if the electromagnetic stirring is intensified.W.Q.
