1Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and other fluorochemicals in viscera and muscle of farmed pigs and chickens in Beijing,China显示文摘Eleven perfluorinated compounds(PFCs) were determined in tissue samples from farmed pigs and chickens(n=143) that were purchased in Beijing in March 2009.The total PFCs mean concentration was the highest in pig liver(3.438 ng g-1 wet weight(ww)),followed by pig kidney(0.508 ng g-1(ww)),pig heart(0.167 ng g-1(ww)),chicken liver(0.098 ng g-1(ww)),chicken heart(0.050 ng g-1(ww)),pork loin(0.018 ng g-1(ww)),and chicken breast(0.012 ng g-1(ww)).Among the PFCs analyzed,perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS) was the predominant compound in viscera and muscle of farmed pigs and chickens.In addition,a strong linear correlation(r = 0.932) was observed between the concentrations of PFOS and perfluoroundecanoic acid(PFUnDA) in pig liver.Our preliminary conclusion is that there is little potential risk of exposure to PFCs via the consumption of these products in Beijing.WANG JieMing SHI YaLi PAN YuanYuan CAI YaQi 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,31:24
2Evaluation of perfluorinated compounds in seven wastewater treatment plants in Beijing urban areas显示文摘The presence of perfluorinated compounds(PFCs)in seven major wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)in Beijing was investigated in the current study.We detected nine PFCs in all the wastewater and sludge samples.Perfluorooctane acid(PFOA)is the dominant PFCs in influents and effluents,while perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS)is the major contaminant in sludge.The highest PFC concentration was found in plants at Qinghe and Jiuxianqiao WWTP,while the lowest was found at Fangzhuang WWTP.The total values of PFC range from 2.88 to 176 ng/L in influents,from 5.48 to 498 ng/L in effluents,and from 1.21 to 32.0 ng/g(dry wt)in sludge.The fact that effluents usually contain higher levels of PFCs than influents suggests that additional PFCs are produced during the wastewater treatment processes.However,PFOS decreases in effluents than in influents in 62%of the water samples.This may be due to the adsorption and removal of the sludge during the active process.Perfluoroalkyl carboxylates(PFCAs)were found significantly correlated with each other in the effluents,which may indicate their similar sources or the existence of their potential precursors in the wastewater or treatment processes.The mass flows of PFC discharges into WWTPs are 0.4–51.4 mg/day,and the mass flows of PFCs in effluents exceed those in influents by 127%.Domestic and commercial wastewaters are suggested to be the major sources of PFC pollution in WWTPs in Beijing.PAN YuanYuan SHI YaLi WANG JieMing CAI YaQi 2011Science China Chemistry2011,54,3:16
3Comprehensive analysis of NAC transcription factors and their expression during fruit spine development in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)显示文摘The cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.)is an important vegetable crop worldwide,and fruit trichomes or spines are an important trait for external fruit quality.The mechanisms underlying spine formation are not well understood,but the plant-specific NAC family of transcription factors may play important roles in fruit spine initiation and development.In this study,we conducted a genome-wide survey and identified 91 NAC gene homologs in the cucumber genome.Clustering analysis classified these genes into six subfamilies;each contained a varying number of NAC family members with a similar intron–exon structure and conserved motifs.Quantitative real-time PCR analysis revealed tissue-specific expression patterns of these genes,including 10 and 12 that exhibited preferential expression in the stem and fruit,respectively.Thirteen of the 91 NAC genes showed higher expression in the wild-type plant than in its near-isogenic trichome mutant,suggesting their important roles in fruit spine development.Exogenous application of four plant hormones promoted spine formation and increased spine density on the cucumber fruits;several NAC genes showed differential expression over time in response to phytohormone treatments on cucumber fruit,implying their essential roles in fruit-trichome development.Among the NAC genes identified,12 were found to be targets of 13 known cucumber micro-RNAs.Collectively,these findings provide a useful resource for further analysis of the interactions between NAC genes and genes underlying trichome organogenesis and development during fruit spine development in cucumber.Xingwang Liu Ting wang Ezra Bartholomew Kezia Black Mingming Dong Yaqi Zhang Sen Yang Yanling Cai Shudan Xue Yiqun Weng Huazhong Ren 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:10
4Direct generation of an ultrafast vortex beam in a CVD-graphene-based passively mode-locked Pr:LiYF4 visible laser显示文摘We report on the direct generation of passively mode-locked vortex lasers in the visible spectral region, for the first time to the best of our knowledge, using a Pr :Li YF4(Pr:YLF) crystal as the gain medium. A stable mode-locked TEM00 mode has been achieved with a maximum average output power of 75 m W using a graphene saturable absorber mirror. The mode-locked pulse width is measured to be as short as about 73.4 ps at a repetition rate of about 140 MHz, and the laser wavelength is at about 721 nm with spectral width of about 0.5 nm. By slightly misaligning the laser resonator, a first-order Laguerre-Gaussian mode(LG0,1) has also been obtained with output power reduced to about 22 m W. The achieved LG0,1 mode has been verified via a home made improved Fizeau interferometer. 5Perfluorinated compounds in milk, milk powder and yoghurt purchased from markets in China显示文摘The exposure to perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) through the diet for humans is of great concern. Among the diet, dairy products are in great demand. This paper reports the study on the levels of 9 perfluorinated acids and 2 fluorotelomer acids in milk, milk powder and yoghurt purchased from Chinese markets from 2008 to 2009. The analytes were quantitated by high performance liquid chromatography/electrospray tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS/MS). In milk samples, perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA) and perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA) were detected frequently, both in 68% of samples. In milk powder samples, perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS), perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and PFNA were the only detected PFCs and none of them was observed in more than 35% of samples. In yoghurt, PFOA was the most frequently detected compound, found in 69% of samples. None of fluorotelomer acids was observed in any samples. The mean concentrations of total PFCs were 178 pg/g (wet weight) in milk, 98 pg/g (dry weight) in milk powder and 42 pg/g in yoghurt (wet weight). It is notable that the data of this study indicate significant differences (P<0.001) among three kinds of packaging of milk in the concentration of total PFCs. A preliminary human health risk assessment of milk and dairy products consumption was conducted in this study. 7Distribution of methylsiloxanes in benthic mollusks from the Chinese Bohai Sea显示文摘Methylsiloxanes are a class of silicone compounds that have been widely used in various industrial processes and personal care products for several decades. This study investigated the spatial distribution of three cyclic methylsiloxanes(D4–D6) and twelve linear methylsiloxanes(L5–L16) in mollusks collected from seven cities along the Bohai Sea. D4–D6(df = 71%–81%) and L8–L16(df = 32%–40%) were frequently detectable in the mollusk samples, while L5–L7 were not found in any mollusk samples. Cyclic methylsiloxanes(D4–D6) were found in mollusks with the mean concentrations of 15.7 ± 12.3 ng/g ww for D4,24.6 ± 15.8 ng/g ww for D5 and 34.0 ± 23.0 ng/g ww for D6. Among the seven sampling cities, the cyclic methylsiloxanes were predominant in mollusks, with the total cyclic methylsiloxanes(sum of D4–D6, ∑ CMS) accounting for 74.2%–80.7% of the total methylsiloxanes. ∑ CMS along the coastline demonstrated a clear gradient, with the highest concentrations in mollusks at the sampling sites located in the western part of the Bohai Sea and the lowest concentrations in mollusks from cities located in the eastern part of the Bohai Sea. 8Selective separation of polychlorinated naphthalene (PCNs), hexabromocyclododecanes (HBCDs) and tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) in soil matrices显示文摘A method for the selective separation of polychlorinated naphthalene (PCNs), hexabromocyclododecanes (HBCDs) and tetrabro-mobisphenol A (TBBPA) in complex matrices was developed. In the present study, the type of sorbents and the volume and composition of eluting solvents were investigated in detail. Under the optimal conditions, the recoveries of PCNs, HBCDs and TBBPA in different fractions were determined with liquid/gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC or GC-MS/MS), which was nearly close to 100%. To investigate the feasibility of the developed method, it was applied to isolate target compounds from spiked soil extracts. PCNs, HBCDs and TBBPA could be subsequently eluted with hexane, hexane/dichloromethane (1:1), and hexane/dichloromethane (1:3), and the recoveries of the analysts from three fractions were satisfactory (70.9%-107%) with the exception of -HBCD at low levels. 10Health-related quality of life among rural residents aged 45-69 years in Hua County, Henan Province, China: Results of ESECC Trial for esophageal cancer screening with endoscopy显示文摘Objective: There have been few population-based studies evaluating health related quality of life(HRQOL) in rural populations in China, and this study aimed to assess the current status of and risk factors for HRQOL in a general rural population in high risk region of esophageal cancer in China.Methods: From November 2015 to September 2016, 12,085 permanent residents aged 45–69 years from 257 villages in the Endoscopic Screening for Esophageal Cancer in China(ESECC) trial(Clinical Trials.gov:NCT01688908) randomly selected from Hua County, Henan Province, China were interviewed. The EQ-5 D-3 L,a generic measure of HRQOL, and a questionnaire were used to assess their HRQOL and potential risk factors.Results: Among all the participants, 30.62% of the participants reported problems in at least one EQ-5 D dimension. Pain/discomfort(25.52%) was the most frequently reported problem followed by anxiety/depression(7.97%), mobility(5.82%), usual activities(2.61%) and self-care(1%). These rural residents had a mean EQ-5 D index score of 0.948, and lower EQ-5 D index scores were associated with older age, female gender, lower levels of household annual per capita income, living alone, using shallow wells as main source of drinking water, exposure to family members smoking, testiness, unhealthy dietary habits, overweight or obesity, upper gastrointestinal cancer related symptoms and chronic diseases.Conclusions: Rural residents in China have a relatively low quality of life. Health promotion programs in this population should focus on the elderly, especially elderly women and the elderly living alone. Improving basic living circumstances and primary medical care services should be priorities. 11TPTVer: A Trusted Third Party Based Trusted Verifier for Multi-Layered Outsourced Big Data System in Cloud Environment显示文摘Cloud computing is very useful for big data owner who doesn't want to manage IT infrastructure and big data technique details. However, it is hard for big data owner to trust multi-layer outsourced big data system in cloud environment and to verify which outsourced service leads to the problem. Similarly, the cloud service provider cannot simply trust the data computation applications. At last,the verification data itself may also leak the sensitive information from the cloud service provider and data owner. We propose a new three-level definition of the verification, threat model, corresponding trusted policies based on different roles for outsourced big data system in cloud. We also provide two policy enforcement methods for building trusted data computation environment by measuring both the Map Reduce application and its behaviors based on trusted computing and aspect-oriented programming. To prevent sensitive information leakage from verification process,we provide a privacy-preserved verification method. Finally, we implement the TPTVer, a Trusted third Party based Trusted Verifier as a proof of concept system. 12Oral microbiome and risk of malignant esophageal lesions in a high-risk area of China:A nested case-control study显示文摘Objective:We aimed to prospectively evaluate the association of oral microbiome with malignant esophageal lesions and its predictive potential as a biomarker of risk.Methods:We conducted a case-control study nested within a population-based cohort with up to 8 visits of oral swab collection for each subject over an 11-year period in a high-risk area for esophageal cancer in China.The oral microbiome was evaluated with 16 S ribosomal RNA(rRNA)gene sequencing in 428 pre-diagnostic oral specimens from 84 cases with esophageal lesions of severe squamous dysplasia and above(SDA)and 168 matched healthy controls.DESeq analysis was performed to identify taxa of differential abundance.Differential oral species together with subject characteristics were evaluated for their potential in predicting SDA risk by constructing conditional logistic regression models.Results:A total of 125 taxa including 37 named species showed significantly different abundance between SDA cases and controls(all P<0.05&false discovery rate-adjusted Q<0.10).A multivariate logistic model including 11 SDA lesion-related species and family history of esophageal cancer provided an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)of 0.89(95%CI,0.84-0.93).Cross-validation and sensitivity analysis,excluding cases diagnosed within 1 year of collection of the baseline specimen and their matched controls,or restriction to screenendoscopic-detected or clinically diagnosed case-control triads,or using only bacterial data measured at the baseline,yielded AUCs>0.84.Conclusions:The oral microbiome may play an etiological and predictive role in esophageal cancer,and it holds promise as a non-invasive early warning biomarker for risk stratification for esophageal cancer screening programs.Fangfang Liu Mengfei Liu Ying Liu Chuanhai Guo Yunlai Zhou Fenglei Li Ruiping Xu Zhen Liu Qiuju Deng Xiang Li Chaoting Zhang Yaqi Pan Tao Ning Xiao Dong Zhe Hu Huanyu Bao Hong Cai Isabel Dos Santos Silva Zhonghu He Yang Ke 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,6:3
13Development and validation of a questionnaire-based risk scoring system to identify individuals at high risk for gastric cancer in Chinese populations显示文摘Objective:This study aimed to develop and validate a risk scoring system to identify high-risk individuals carrying malignant lesions in stomach for tailored gastric cancer screening.Methods:A gastric cancer risk scoring system(GC-RSS)was developed based on questionnaire-based predictors for gastric cancer derived from systematic literature review.To assess the capability of this system for discrimination,risk scores for 8,214 and 7,235 outpatient subjects accepting endoscopic examination in two endoscopy centers,and 32,630 participants in a community-based cohort in China were calculated to plot receiver operating characteristic curves and generate area under the curve(AUC).To evaluate the performance of GC-RSS,the screening proportion,sensitivity and detection rate ratio compared to universal screening were used under different risk score cutoff values.Results:GC-RSS comprised nine predictors including advanced age,male gender,low body mass index(<18.5 kg/m^(2)),family history of gastric cancer,cigarette smoking,consumption of alcohol,preference for salty food,irregularity of meals and consumption of preserved food.This tool performed well in determining the risk of malignant gastric lesions with AUCs of 0.763,0.706 and 0.696 in three validation sets.When subjects with risk scores≥5 were evaluated with endoscopy,nearly 50%of these endoscopies could be saved with a detection rate of over 1.5 times achieved.When the cutoff was set at 8,only about 10%of subjects with the highest risk would be offered endoscopy,and detection rates for gastric cancer could be increased 2-4 fold compared to universal screening.Conclusions:An effective questionnaire-based GC-RSS was developed and validated.This tool may play an important role in establishing a tailored screening strategy for gastric cancer in China.Ren Zhou Hongchen Zheng Mengfei Liu Zhen Liu Chuanhai Guo Hongrui Tian Fangfang Liu Ying Liu Yaqi Pan Huanyu Chen Zhe Hu Hong Cai Zhonghu He Yang Ke 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,6:3
14High power and energy generation in a Nd:YAG single-crystal fiber laser at 1834 nm显示文摘We report on a diode-end-pumped high-power and high-energy Nd:YAG single-crystal fiber laser at 1834 nm.Two 808 nm diodes injecting about 58 W pump power into the Nd:YAG fiber have generated 3.28 W continuouswave and 1.66 W Cr:ZnSe-based passively Q-switched lasers. Slope efficiencies with respect to pump powers are8.7% for the continuous-wave laser and 4.9% for the Q-switched laser. The extracted maximum pulse energy is about 266.9 μJ, and the corresponding maximum pulse peak power is 2.54 kW. These performances greatly surpass previous results regarding this specific laser emission because the laser gain medium in the form of fiber can significantly mitigate thermally induced power saturation thanks to its significantly reduced thermal lensing effect. 17One-pot molten salt method for constructing CdS/C_(3)N_(4) nanojunctions with highly enhanced photocatalytic performance for hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘The construction of heterojunction photocatalysts for efficiently utilizing solar energy has attracted considerable attention to solve the energy crisis and reduce environmental pollution.In this study,we use the energy released from an easily-occurred exothermic chemical reaction to serve as the drive force to trigger the formation of Cd S and C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposites which are successfully fabricated with cadmium nitrate and thiourea without addition of any solvents and protection of inert gas at initial temperature,a little higher than the melting point of thiourea.The as-prepared Cd S/C_(3)N_(4) materials exhibit high efficiency for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)with the HER rate as high as 15,866μmol/(g·hr)under visible light irradiation(λ>420 nm),which is 89 and 9 times those of pristine C_(3)N_(4) and Cd S,respectively.Also,the apparent quantum efficiency(AQE)of Cd S/C_(3)N_(4)–1:2–200–2(Cd S/C_(3)N_(4)–1:2–200–2 means the ratio of Cd to S is 1:2 and the reaction temperature is set at 200℃ for two hours)reaches 3.25%atλ=420±15 nm.After irradiated for more than 24 hr,the HER efficiencies of Cd S/C_(3)N_(4) do not exhibit any attenuation.The DFT calculation suggests that the charge difference causes an internal electric field from C_(3)N_(4) pointing to Cd S,which can more effectively promote the transfer of photogenerated electrons from Cd S to C_(3)N_(4).Therefore,most HER should occur on C_(3)N_(4) surface where photogenerated electrons accumulate,which largely protects Cd S from photo-corrosion.Weijia Zhao Hongyun Niu Yongliang Yang Hongzhou Lv Jungang Lv Yaqi Cai 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,2:2

20Porous covalent organic frameworks-improved solid phase microextraction ambient mass spectrometry for ultrasensitive analysis of tetrabromobisphenol-A analogs显示文摘Owing to frequent environmental monitoring of tetrabromobisphenol-A(TBBPA)analogs and their potential ecotoxicological effects on organisms,analysis of trace levels of TBBPA analogs with more non-polar and less water-soluble characteristics is of great significance for studying their environmental behaviors and toxic effects.Herein,a fast and sensitive technique is developed for directly detecting aqueous TBBPA analogs,including TBBPA mono(allyl ether)(TBBPA-MAE),TBBPA mono(2,3-dibromopropyl ether)(TBBPAMDBPE),TBBPA mono(2-hydroxyethyl ether)(TBBPA-MHEE)and TBBPA mono(glycidyl ether)(TBBPAMGE),by combining solid phase microextraction(SPME)based on porous covalent organic frameworks(Porous-COFs)with constant flow desorption ionization-mass spectrometry(CFDI-MS).As chromatographic separation is replaced by constant flow desorption,each sample can be analyzed within 7 min.The hierarchical porous structures(microporous,mesoporous and macroporous)of COFs lead to the enhanced mass transfer and the easier accessibility of active sites to TBBPA analogs,so that the extraction efficiency is 2.3-3.6 times higher than pure microporous COFs,and far superior to commercial coatings.The detection limit and quantification limit of this method are 0.1-1 and 0.4-3.2 ng/L,respectively.Ultratrace levels of TBBPA analogs from 5.0 ng/L to 66 ng/L have been successfully detected in river and sea water samples,showing great potential for subsequent studies of their environmental behaviors and toxicological effects.Wei Gao Min Li Yun Fa Zongshan Zhao Yaqi Cai Xiangfeng Liang Yongliang Yu Guibin Jiang 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,8:1
