1The pathological role of ferroptosis in ischemia/reperfusion-related injury显示文摘Ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) is a pathological process that occurs in numerous organs throughout the human body, and it is frequently associated with severe cellular damage and death. Recently it has emerged that ferroptosis, a new form of regulated cell death that is caused by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation, plays a significantly detrimental role in many I/R models. In this review, we aim to revise the pathological process of I/R and then explore the molecular pathogenesis of ferroptosis. 2Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell transplantation promotes adult neurogenesis in the brains of Alzheimer's disease mice显示文摘In the present study,we transplanted adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells into the hippocampi of APP/PS1 transgenic Alzheimer’s disease model mice.Immunofluorescence staining revealed that the number of newly generated(BrdU+)cells in the subgranular zone of the dentate gyrus in the hippocampus was significantly higher in Alzheimer’s disease mice after adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell transplantation,and there was also a significant increase in the number of BrdU+/DCX+neuroblasts in these animals.Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell transplantation enhanced neurogenic activity in the subventricular zone as well.Furthermore,adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell transplantation reduced oxidative stress and alleviated cognitive impairment in the mice.Based on these findings,we propose that adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell transplantation enhances endogenous neurogenesis in both the subgranular and subventricular zones in APP/PS1 transgenic Alzheimer’s disease mice,thereby facilitating functional recovery.Yufang Yan Tuo Ma Kai Gong Qiang Ao Xiufang Zhang Yao Gong 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,8:16

4Relationship Between Serum DNA Replication, Clinicopathological Characteristics and Prognosis of Hepatitis B Virus-associated Glomerulonephritis with Severe Proteinuria by Lamivudine Plus Adefovir Dipivoxil Combination Therapy显示文摘Objective To explore the relationship between HBV DNA and the clinical manifestations, pathological types, injury severity, and prognosis with HBV-GN. Methods 102 patients with HBV-GN were divided into 3 groups, according to the serum titer of the HBV DNA. 24-h urine protein excretion, and other parameters were measured. Renal biopsy were performed. The association between HBV DNA and the pathological stage of membranous nephropathy was analyzed in 78 patients with HBV-MN. 24-h urine protein excretion was used for the evaluation of the prognosis, and the relationship between HBV DNA and prognosis were analyzed. Results Several findings were demonstrated with the increase of serum HBV DNA: 24-h urine protein excretion, plasma cholesterol, and triglycerides increased significantly(P<0.05), while the plasma level of albumin decreased significantly(P<0.05); The changes of serum creatinine, C3 and C4 were found but no statistical significance. Glomerular deposition of HBVAg increased, and the pathological injury was more severe. The clinical remission rate was lower in the high replication group after treatment as compared with the low replication group(P<0.01). 5Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 6A novel scalable synthesis process of PPTA by coupling n-pentane evaporation for polymerization heat removal显示文摘In this study,we compared the effect of n-pentane and ice-water bath on removing the thermal effect in the poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide)(PPTA) polymerization process.The results indicate that the n-pentane can help to transfer the reaction heat faster and better.Adding suitable amount of n-pentanes into the PPTA preparation process not only improve the heat transfer,but also reduce the motor power in the polymerization process.Moreover,the introduction of n-pentane properly does not result in decrease of the inherent viscosity(η_(inh)) of polymer.Instead,it leads to increased viscosity of polymer during the PPTA preparation process.The results indicate that n-pentane can effectively transfer the reaction heat and avoid overheating during the polymerization of PPTA.Tao Zhang Guo Hua Luo Fei Wei Yan Yan Lu Wei Zhong Qian Xin Lin Tuo 2011Chinese Chemical Letters2011,22,11:8
7Ascorbic acid secretion in the human stomach and the effect of gastrin显示文摘AIM To investigate the changes of gastricmucosal ascorbic acid secretion in patients withnonulcer dyspepsia and the effect of gastrin onit,and to relate any observed changes to H.pylori infection and mucosal histology.METHODS Ascorbic acid secretions in patientswere examined by collecting continuouslygastric juice for one hour after having aspiratedand discarded fasting gastric juice.Using theclearance rate(mL/min)of ascorbic acid fromblood to gastric juice represented ascorbic acidsecretion in the gastric mucosa.Ascorbic acidconcentrations in plasma and juice weremeasured by ferric reduced method.RESULTS Gastric ascorbic acid secretions inH.pylori-positive patients(1.46 mL/min,range0.27-3.78)did not significantly differ fromthose in H.pylori-negative patients(1.25 mL/min,0.47-3.14)(P>0.05).There were nosignificant differences in ascorbic acidsecretions between patients with mild(1.56 mL/min,0.50-3.30),moderate(1.34 mL/min,0.27-2.93)and severe(1.36 mL/min,0.47-3.78)inflammation(P>0.05).There were nosignificant differences in ascorbic acidsecretions between patients without activity(l.45mL/min,0.27-3.14)and with mild(1.32mL/min,0.61-2.93),moderate(1.49mL/min,0.50-3.78)and severe(1.43 mL/min,0.51-3.26)activity of chronic gastritis either(P>0.05).Ascorbic acid secretions in patientswith severe atrophy(0.56 mL/min,0.27-1.20)were markedly lower than those in patientswithout atrophy(1.51 mL/min,0.59-3.30)and with mild(1.43 mL/ min,0.53-3.78)andmoderate(1.31 mL/min,0.47-3.16)atrophy(P<0.005).There was a significant negativecorrelation between ascorbic acid secretion andseverity of atrophy(correlation coefficient=-0.43,P<0.005).After administration ofpentagastrin,ascorbic acid secretions weremarkedly elevated(from 1.39 mL/min,0.36-2.96 to 3.53mL/min,0.84-5.91)(P<0.001).CONCLUSION Ascorbic acid secretion ingastric mucosa is not affected by H.pyloriinfection.Gastric ascorbic acid secretion ismarkedly related to the severity of atrophy,whereas not related to the severity ofinflammation and activity.Gastrin may stimulategastric ascorbic acid secretion.A decreasedascorbic acid secretion may be an importantfactor in the link between atrophic gastritis andgastric carcinogenesis.Bi Guang Tuo Yong Hui Yan Zheng Long Ge Gang Wei Ou Kui Zhao 2000World Journal of Gastroenterology2000,6,5:6
8Abiogenic hydrocarbons in commercial gases from the Songliao Basin,China显示文摘This paper discusses the kinetic fractionation, composition and distribution characteristics of carbon and hydrogen isotopes for various alkane gases formed in different environments, by different mecha- nisms and from different sources in nature. It is demonstrated that the biodegradation or thermode- gradation of complex high-molecule sedimentary organic material can form microbial gas or thermogenic gas. The δ 13C1 value ranges from -110‰ to -50‰ for microbial gases but from -50‰ to -35‰ (even heavier) for thermogenic gases. Controlled by the kinetic isotope fractionation, both microbial and thermogenic gases have δ 13C and δ D values characterized by normal distribution, i.e. δ 13C1< δ 13C2< δ 13C3< δ 13C4 and δ DCH4< δ DC2H6< δ DC3H8<δ DC4H10, and by a positive correlation between the δ 13C and δ D values. Simple carbonbearing molecules (CH4, CO and CO2) can form abiogenic alkane gases via polymerization in the abiological chemical process in nature, with δ 13C1 heavier than -30‰. Moreover, controlled by the kinetic isotope fractionation, abiogenic alkane gases are characterized by a reverse distribution of δ 13C values and a normal trend of δ D values, namely δ 13C1> δ 13C2> δ 13C3> δ 13C4 and δ DCH4<δ DC2H6< δ DC3H8< δ DC4H10. The δ 13C values and δ D values are negatively correlated. Natural gases from 26 commercial gas wells distributed in the Xujiaweizi and Yingshan-Miaotaizi faulted depressions in the Songliao Basin, China, show δ13C1 values ranging from -30.5‰ to -16.7‰ with a very narrow δ D range between -203‰―-196‰. These gases are characterized by a reverse distribution of δ 13C values but a normal distribution of δ D values, and a negative correlation between their δ 13C and δ D values, indicating an abiological origin. The present study has revealed that abiogenic hydrocarbons not only exist in nature but also can make significant contribution to commercial gas reserviors. It is estimated that the reserve volume of alkane gases with abiogenic characteristics in these 26 gas wells in the Songliao Basin is over 500×108 m3. 11Long-term variations of X-ray pulse profiles for the Crab pulsar:data analysis and modeling显示文摘The pulse profiles of the Crab pulsar(as well as some other pulsars)vary with time.They can lead to a major source of intrinsic timing noise,which lacks a detailed physical model.The phase separation?between the first left peak(P1)and the second right peak(P2)is a key parameter that shows the variations of pulse profiles for the Crab pulsar.It was found that the evolution of?has a tendency with increasing rates of 0.82?±0.25?,0.80?±0.54?,and 0.77?±0.28?per century for the 2-6,6-15,and15-60 ke V bands,respectively.Furthermore,the flux ratios(P2/P1)of X-ray pulse profiles in the three bands were calculated,and the derived flux ratios were consistent with the radio and X-ray measurements of the Insight-HXMT.In addition to discovering the physical origin of the pulse changes,the high-SNR X-ray pulse profiles were simulated in the annular gap model,and two model parameters(e.g.,the maximum emission heights of the two peaks)were observed to slightly affect the variations of peak separation.We fitted the long-term variations of emission heights of the two peaks and discovered that the emission heights showed increasing tendencies with time.Variations of these emission heights induced a characteristic period derivative,and a complete formula for both the magnetic dipole radiation and wind-particle-induced variations of the moment of inertia was used for the pulsar’s spin-down to obtain the variation rate˙αof the magnetic inclination angle,which was-1.60?per century.Intrinsic timing noise is observed to be mainly induced by the variations of pulse profiles,which might correlate with a characteristic spin period derivative arising from the fluctuations of the emission regions.This work will lay a foundation for understanding the origin of intrinsic timing noise and making high-precision timing models in the future.LunHua Shang YuanJie Du XiangQun Cui ShiJun Dang JiGuang Lu JunTao Bai QiJun Zhi YouLi Tuo LinLi Yan LiangWei Huang XinYuan Zhang XiaoMin Bei QingQing Lin GuoJun Qiao Hua Shen RiHong Zhu 2020Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,10:2

Based on previous researches on the electrification of sandstorms by the scholars both at home and aboard,the authors conducted the simulation experiments on the electric fields of sandstorm-triggered creeping-saltating sand, suspending sand and watered suspending sand in the large-scale wind tunnel. 14Heterostructured ZnFe_2O_4/Fe_2TiO_5/TiO_2 Composite Nanotube Arrays with an Improved Photocatalysis Degradation Efficiency Under Simulated Sunlight Irradiation显示文摘To improve the visible light absorption and photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide nanotube arrays(TONTAs), ZnFe_2O_4(ZFO) nanocrystals were perfused into pristine TONTA pipelines using a novel bias voltageassisted perfusion method. ZFO nanocrystals were well anchored on the inner walls of the pristine TONTAs when the ZFO suspensions(0.025 mg m L^(-1)) were kept under a60 V bias voltage for 1 h. After annealing at 750 °C for2 h, the heterostructured ZFO/Fe_2 TiO_5(FTO)/TiO_2 composite nanotube arrays were successfully obtained. Furthermore, Fe^(3+)was reduced to Fe^(2+)when solid solution reactions occurred at the interface of ZFO and the pristine TONTAs. Introducing ZFO significantly enhanced thevisible light absorption of the ZFO/FTO/TONTAs relative to that of the annealed TONTAs. 15In-situ doping-induced lattice strain of NiCoP/S nanocrystals for robust wide pH hydrogen evolution electrocatalysis and supercapacitor显示文摘Developing high-efficiency multifunctional nanomaterials is promising for wide p H hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) and energy storage but still challenging. Herein, a novel in-situ doping-induced lattice strain strategy of NiCoP/S nanocrystals(NCs) was proposed through using seed crystal conversion approach with NiCo_(2)S_(4) spinel as precursor. The small amount of S atoms in NiCoP/S NCs perturbed the local electronic structure, leading to the atomic position shift of the nearest neighbor in the protocell and the nanoscale lattice strain, which optimized the H* adsorption free energy and activated H_(2)O molecules, resulting the dramatically elevated HER performance within a wide p H range. Especially, the NiCoP/S NCs displayed better HER electrocatalytic activity than comical 20% Pt/C at high current density in 1 M KOH and natural seawater: it only needed 266 m V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE) and660 m V vs. RHE to arrive the current density of 350 m A cm^(-2) in 1 M KOH and natural seawater, indicating the application prospect for industrial high current. Besides, NiCoP/S NCs also displayed excellent supercapacitor performance: it showed high specific capacity of 2229.9 F g^(-1) at 1 A g^(-1) and energy density of87.49 Wh kg^(-1), when assembled into an all-solid-state flexible device, exceeding performance of most transition metal phosphides. 18Insight-HXMT observations of the Crab pulsar显示文摘We report on X-ray emission properties of the Crab pulsar(PSR B0531+21) using observations by Insight-HXMT during its first year after launch. We obtained high signal-to-noise profiles in the X-ray energy band 11–250 keV. We have confirmed an increase in the flux ratio of the second peak over the main peak with increasing energy, consistent with other missions. The separation of the two peaks shows no significant trend with increasing energy. 20Interspecific Hybridization Between Crassostrea angulata and C. ariakensis显示文摘Interspecific hybridization can generate heterosis, which is proven to be a useful tool in selective breeding programs for oyster culture. Crassostrea angulata and C. ariakensis are two important economic shellfish species in China. We conducted 2 × 2 reciprocal crosses to determine whether these two species can cross-fertilize and their hybrids can hatch, survive and perform heterosis. Fertilization was found symmetrical without delay. The rate of fertilization success of C. angulata ♀× C. ariakensis ♂ was lower than that of C. ariakensis ♀× C. angulata ♂, and the success rate of both hybridizations was lower than that of two intraspecific crosses each. During the planktonic period, survival rate of the progeny was lower in the hybrid crosses than in the intraspecific crosses. On day 360, mean shell height of the progeny of C. angulata ♀× C. angulata ♂ was highest, which was followed by that of C. angulata ♀× C. ariakensis ♂, C. ariakensis ♀× C. ariakensis ♂ and C. ariakensis ♀× C. angulata ♂ in a descending order. Morphology of adults produced by the hybrid crosses was similar to that of C. angulata. Both hybrids underwent normal gonad development and produced mature gametes in the mating season.
