1Transcription factor ZmNAC126 plays an important role in transcriptional regulation of maize starch synthesis-related genes显示文摘Maize(Zea mays L.)is one of the most important food crops in the world,and starch is the main component of its endosperm.Transcriptional regulation plays a vital role in starch biosynthesis.However,it is not well understood in maize.We report the identification of the transcription factor ZmNAC126 and its role in regulation of starch synthesis in maize.Transcriptional expression of ZmNAC126 was higher in maize endosperm and kernels than in roots or stems.ZmNAC126 shared a similar expression pattern with starch synthesis genes during seed development,and its expression pattern was also consistent with the accumulation of starch.ZmNAC126 is a typical transcription factor with a transactivation domain between positions 201 and 227 of the amino acid sequence,is located in the nucleus,and binds to CACG repeats in vitro.Yeast one-hybrid assay revealed that ZmNAC126 bound the promoters of ZmGBSSI,ZmSSIIa,ZmSSIV,ZmISA1,and ZmISA2.Transient overexpression of ZmNAC126 in maize endosperm increased the activities of promoters pZmSh2,pZmBt2,pZmGBSSI,pZmSSIIIa,and pZmBT1 but inhibited the activities of pZmISA1 and pZmISA2.ZmNAC126 thus acts in starch synthesis by transcriptionally regulating targeted starch synthesis-related genes in maize kernels.Qianlin Xiao Yayun Wang Hui Li Chunxia Zhang Bin Wei Yongbin Wang Huanhuan Huang Yangping Li Guowu Yu Hanmei Liu Junjie Zhang Yinghong Liu Yufeng Hu Yubi Huang 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,1:5
2Three-dimensional dissipative stress space considering yield behavior in deviatoric plane显示文摘Naturally deposited soils are always found in the complex three-dimensional stress state.Constitutive models developed for modeling the three-dimensional mechanical behavior of soils should obey the basic laws of thermo-mechanical principles.Based on the incremental dissipation function,a new deviatoric shift stress is derived and then introduced into the existing constitutive models to describe the yield behavior in the deviatoric plane for geomaterials.By adopting the proposed shift stress,the relationship between dissipative stress tensors and true stress tensors can be established.Therefore,the threedimensional plastic strain can be calculated reasonably through the associated flow rule in the three-dimensional dissipative stress space.At the same time,three methods that are conventionally adopted for generalizing constitutive models to model the three-dimensional stress-strain relationships are examined under the thermo-mechanical framework.The TS(transformed stress)method is shown to obey the thermo-mechanical rules and the TS space adopted in TS method is actually a translational three-dimensional dissipative stress space.However,it is illustrated that the other two approaches,the method of using failure criterion directly and the method of using g()function,violate the basic rules of thermo-mechanical theories although they may bring convenience and simplicity to numerical analysis for geotechnical engineering.Comparison between model predictions and experimental data confirms the validity of the proposed three-dimensional dissipative stress space.YAO YangPing CUI WenJie WANG NaiDong 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,8:4
3Progress of Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA)显示文摘Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA) will take the advantage of the ultra-low background of CJPL lab and high current accelerator based on an ECR source and a highly sensitive detector to directly study for the first time a number of crucial reactions occurring at their relevant stellar energies during the evolution of hydrostatic stars. In its first phase, JUNA aims at the direct measurements of^(25)Mg(p,γ)^(26)Al,^(19)F(p,α)^(16)O,^(13)C(α,n)^(16)O and ^(12)C(α,γ)^(16)O reactions. The experimental setup,which includes an accelerator system with high stability and high intensity, a detector system, and a shielding material with low background, will be established during the above research. 6A Population Genetic Analysis of Continuously Selected Chlamys farreri Populations显示文摘This study applied an optimized one-step 2b-RAD library construction strategy and performed simplified genome sequencing of 539 individuals from three continuously selected Chlamys farreri populations. SNP screening was performed using RAD typing software and population genetic parameters for the continuously selected populations from three generations(G1, G2, G3) were determined. The results showed that the optimized one-step 2b-RAD library construction strategy greatly simplified the experimental process, making it suitable for efficiently constructing a large number of libraries. A total of 18450 SNP markers were identified, which evenly distributed throughout the genome. Population genetic analysis of these three generations showed that the mean value of observed heterozygosity was 0.275 ± 0.177, 0.272 ± 0.181 and 0.275 ± 0.166, respectively. Meanwhile, the mean value of expected heterozygosity was 0.275 ± 0.141, 0.274 ± 0.145 and 0.280 ± 0.133, respectively. The Wright's fixation index(F) was 0.04291, 0.04976 and 0.06685, respectively. Markers deviated from Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium accounted for 10.34%, 12.64%, and 23.11%, and the Shannon diversity index was 0.0999 ± 0.0404, 0.0921 ± 0.0388 and 0.0733 ± 0.0308. FIS(also known as the inbreeding coefficient) of the three populations was 0.0256, 0.0323 and 0.0468, respectively. We suggested that the 2b-RAD method is well suited to population genetic studies of aquacultured organisms. 7Development of pot-cover effect apparatus with freezing-thawing cycles显示文摘‘Pot-cover effect’ refers to the phenomenon of moisture accumulation beneath the pavement under condensation or desublimation because the vapor transfer in the soil is blocked by the pavement. To study this phenomenon in the laboratory, we have developed the pot-cover effect apparatus with freezing-thawing cycles(PEAFC), which consists of three parts, namely, the vapor transfer system, the temperature control system, and the temperature and water content monitoring system. The major functions of this apparatus include: simulation of both vapor transfer and freezing-thawing cycling in the soil, real-time monitoring of the temperature and the water content in soil samples, and one-dimensional heat and moisture transfer in the samples. The FDR(frequency domain reflectometry) sensors of the apparatus are calibrated and a calibration formula is proposed to eliminate the water content measurement errors induced by temperature changes. Constant temperature difference tests and a freezing-thawing cycling test are conducted with the apparatus. Results indicate that the apparatus can control the water replenishment in the soil samples, monitor the vapor transfer in the samples in real time, and simulate the vapor transfer process under the condition of the freezing-thawing cycling in the soil. 18Epidemiological and clinical characteristics of burns in the older person:a seven-year retrospective analysis of 693 cases at a burn center in south-west China显示文摘Background:Burns are one of the major traumas that may affect older individuals.The purpose of this study was to investigate the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of geriatric burns at a major center in south-west China.Methods:This retrospective study was conducted at the Institute of Burn Research,Southwest Hospital of Army Medical University between 2010 and 2016,and the data collected from medical records included admission date,age,gender,premorbid disease,burn etiology,injured anatomical location,burn area and depth,inhalation injury,number of surgeries,length of stay(LOS),clinical outcome,and medical cost.Results:Of the 693 older burn patients included,60.75%were male and 56.85%were aged 60–69 years.Burns peaked in December–March and June.Flamewas the most common cause of burns,making up 51.95%of all cases,and also dominated in the burn patients aged 60–69 years.Limbs were the most common anatomical sites of burns(69.41%),and the median total body surface area(TBSA)was 5%(interquartile range[IQR]:2%–15%).The percentage of the patients who underwent surgeries and number of surgeries significantly increased in the cases of contact burns,younger age and full-thickness burns.Six deaths resulted in a mortality of 0.9%.The median LOSwas 16 days(IQR:8–29 days),and the main risk factors were more surgeries,better outcomes,and full-thickness burns.The median costwas 20,228 CNY(IQR:10,457–46,581.5 CNY),and major risk factors included longer LOS,larger TBSA,and more surgeries.Furthermore,compared to the earlier data from our center,the proportion of older adults among all burns(7.50%vs.4.15%),proportion of flame burns(51.95%vs.33.90%),and mean age(69.05 years vs.65.10 years)were significantly higher,while the proportion of premorbidities(16.9%vs.83.9%),mortality(0.9%vs.7.5%)and median TBSA(5%vs.21%)were significantly lower.Conclusions:This study suggested that closer attention should be paid to prevent burn injuries in older people aged 60–69 years,especially males,regarding incidents in the summer and winter,and flame burns.Moreover,tailored intervention strategies based on related risk factors should be under special consideration.Wei Qian Song Wang Yangping Wang Xiaorong Zhang Mian Liu Rixing Zhan Yong Huang Weifeng He Gaoxing Luo 2020Burns & Trauma2020,8,1:0

20Ultrasonic cavitation-enabled microfluidic approach toward the continuous synthesis of cesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystals显示文摘Ligand assisted reprecipitation(LARP)is a widely used method for cesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystals(NCs)synthesis.Nevertheless,the ultrafast kinetics of LARP,as well as the inefficient transport properties and discontinuity of batch reactors,challenge the particle size control and experimental repeatability.To address these issues,an ultrasonic cavitation-enabled microfluidic approach was developed to achieve the continuous synthesis of cesium lead halide perovskite via LARP.It was found that the mixing between the good solvent and antisolvent in the microchannel was greatly enhanced by intensive ultrasonic cavitation.The mixing time could be reduced to below 10 ms under the irradiation of 35 W ultrasound.By modulating the mixing degree,LARP was proved to be a mixing-sensitive process.The effects of ultrasonic power,ultrasonic treatment time,total flow rate,water additive,and reprecipitation temperature on the synthesis of CsPbBr_(3) NCs were systematically investigated.As compared to CsPbBr_(3) NCs synthesized in the batch reactor,the sample synthesized via the ultrasonic cavitation-enabled microfluidic approach possessed stronger photoluminescence intensity and better repeatability.Moreover,the ultrasonic cavitation-enabled microfluidic approach could also realize the continuous synthesis of cesium lead halide perovskite NCs with different halide compositions to cover a wide visible spectrum(426-661 nm).The ultrasonic cavitation-enabled microfluidic approach paved the way for the large-scale of high-quality cesium lead halide perovskite NCs.Mingzhi Li Zhikai Liu Wang Yao Chao Xu Yangping Yu Mei Yang Guangwen Chen 2023Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2023,59,7:0
