1Slope Seismic Response Monitoring on the Aftershocks of the Wenchuan Earthquake in the Mianzhu Section显示文摘Previous investigations have shown that the seismic response of slopes during the Wenchuan earthquake was highly variable.The present study tries to give an answer to the question:Which are the main factors affecting the seismic response degree of slopes? With the support of the China Geological Survey Bureau,we set 3 monitoring sections in Jiulong slope,Mianzhu city,China with the aim to record the site response of the slope during the aftershocks of the Wenchuan earthquake.After the Wenchuan earthquake,which happened on 12 May 2008,30 aftershocks have been recorded in these monitoring points.We analyzed 11 records,with magnitudes ranging from ML = 4.6 to ML = 3.1.The amplification factors of the horizontal compound PGA and 3D compound PGA have been determined for the 3 points at different elevations on the slope.Results showed that the dynamic response of the slope on the earthquake was controlled by factors such as topography and the thickness of the Quaternary overburden.WANG Yunsheng LUO Yonghong WANG Fuhai WANG Dong MA Xiao LI Shun DENG Xi 2012Journal of Mountain Science2012,9,4:6
2Comparison of Two Air Pollution Episodes over Northeast China in Winter 2016/17 Using Ground-Based Lidar显示文摘This study analyzes and compares aerosol properties and meteorological conditions during two air pollution episodes in 19–22(E1) and 25–26(E2) December 2016 in Northeast China. The visibility, particulate matter(PM) mass concentration, and surface meteorological observations were examined, together with the planetary boundary layer(PBL) properties and vertical profiles of aerosol extinction coefficient and volume depolarization ratio that were measured by a ground-based lidar in Shenyang of Liaoning Province, China during December 2016–January 2017.Results suggest that the low PBL height led to poor pollution dilution in E1, while the high PBL accompanied by low visibility in E2 might have been due to cross-regional and vertical air transmission. The PM mass concentration decreased as the PBL height increased in E1 while these two variables were positively correlated in E2. The enhanced winds in E2 diffused the pollutants and contributed largely to the aerosol transport. Strong temperature inversion in E1 resulted in increased PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations, and the winds in E2 favoured the southwesterly transport of aerosols from the North China Plain into the region surrounding Shenyang. The large extinction coefficient was partially attributed to the local pollution under the low PBL with high ground-surface PM mass concentrations in E1,whereas the cross-regional transport of aerosols within a high PBL and the low PM mass concentration near the ground in E2 were associated with severe aerosol extinction at high altitudes. 3Metallogenic Mechanism and Tectonic Setting of Tungsten Mineralization in the Yangbishan Deposit in Northeastern China显示文摘The Yangbishan iron–tungsten deposit in the Shuangyashan area of Heilongjiang Province is located in the center of the Jiamusi Massif in northeastern China. The rare earth element and trace element compositions of the scheelite show that it formed in a reducing environment and inherited the rare earth element features of the ore-forming fluid. The geochemical characteristics of the gneissic granite associated with the tungsten mineralization show that the magma formed in this reducing environment and originated from the partial melting of metamorphosed shale that contained organic carbon and was enriched with tungsten. In addition, in situ Hf isotopic analysis of zircons from the gneissic granite indicates that they probably originated from the partial melting of a predominantly Paleo–Mesoproterozoic crustal source. According to LA-ICP-MS zircon dating, the Yangbishan orerelated gneissic granite has an Early Paleozoic crystallization age of 520.6 ± 2.8 Ma. This study, together with previous data, indicates that the massifs of northeastern China, including Erguna, Xing'an, Songliao, Jiamusi, and Khanka massifs, belonged to an orogenic belt that existed along the southern margin of the Siberian Craton during the late Pan-African period. 5Edge-preserving image decomposition via joint weighted least squares显示文摘Recent years have witnessed the emergence of image decomposition techniques which effectively separate an image into a piecewise smooth base layer and several residual detail layers. However, the intricacy of detail patterns in some cases may result in side-effects including remnant textures, wronglysmoothed edges, and distorted appearance. We introduce a new way to construct an edge-preserving image decomposition with properties of detail smoothing, edge retention, and shape fitting. Our method has three main steps: suppressing highcontrast details via a windowed variation similarity measure, detecting salient edges to produce an edgeguided image, and fitting the original shape using a weighted least squares framework. Experimental results indicate that the proposed approach can appropriately smooth non-edge regions even when textures and structures are similar in scale. 7Carbon interstitial defects causing emission red shift in YAG:Ce phosphor:First-principles calculation显示文摘Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce3+ is the most famous phosphor material due to its excellent photolumincent properties.Here,through first-principles calculation,the effect of carbon interstitial defects on Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce3+phosphor was investigated. It is found that the carbon interstitials tend to occupy the next-nearest sites of Ce^(3+) ion in Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce3+ lattice. Specially,these interstitial defects can shorten the Ce3+-O^(2-) bond length, leading to a larger crystal field splitting of 5 d orbital of the Ce^(3+) atom and bigger 5 d centroid shift.These two factors cause the emission spectrum of Y_3 Al_5 O_(12)(C):Ce^(3+) red shift compared with that of Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce3+. Moreover, with our comparison experiment, we find that the Y_3 Al_5 O_(12)(C):Ce3+ has an obvious red shift compared with that of Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce^(3+) system,which is in accord with our first principles calculation. 13Revisiting H/Pt(111) by a combined experimental study of the H-D exchange reaction and first-principles calculations显示文摘We report a detailed investigation of the behavior of chemisorbed hydrogen atoms (Ha) on Pt(111) by a combination of an ex-perimental study of the Ha + Da reaction and first-principles calculations. The coverage-dependent adsorption and desorption behavior of Ha and Da on Pt(111) have been systematically established and can be well interpreted in terms of repulsive inter-actions between adsorbates. Ha adsorbs exclusively on the face-centered cubic (fcc) sites of Pt(111) at coverages not exceeding 1 monolayer (ML). With increasing Ha coverage,repulsive interactions between Ha increase,leading to a reduction in both the adsorption energy and the desorption activation energy. It is proposed that the lateral interactions within a Ha layer are partly induced by the local repulsive interactions due to high mobility of Ha on Pt(111). For the Ha + Da exchange reaction on Pt(111),it is found that Ha has a higher selectivity for HD formation than Da. 15Preparation and properties of the SmO_x/Rh(100) model surface显示文摘The preparation of SmOx/Rh(100) and CO adsorption on this model surface have been investigated with Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and temperature programmed desorption spectroscopy (TDS). The oxygen adsorption on the SmRh alloy surface leads to the aggregation of Sm on the surface. The thermal treatment of this oxidized surface induces the further agglomeration of SmOx on the Rh(100) surface. Compared with CO TDS on the clean Rh(100) surface, three additional CO desorption peaks can be observed at 176,331 and 600 K on the SmOx/Rh(100) surface. 17Maternal aging increases offspring adult body size via transmission of donut-shaped mitochondria显示文摘Maternal age at childbearing has continued to increase in recent decades.However,whether and how it influences offspring adult traits are largely unknown.Here,using adult body size as the primary readout,we reveal that maternal rather than paternal age has an evolutionarily conserved effect on offspring adult traits in humans,Drosophila,and Caenorhabditis elegans.Elucidating the mechanisms of such effects in humans and other long-lived animals remains challenging due to their long life course and difficulties in conducting in vivo studies.We thus employ the short-lived and genetically tractable nematode C.elegans to explore the mechanisms underlying the regulation of offspring adult trait by maternal aging.By microscopic analysis,we find that old worms transmit aged mitochondria with a donut-like shape to offspring.These mitochondria are rejuvenated in the offspring’s early life,with their morphology fully restored before adulthood in an AMPK-dependent manner.Mechanistically,we demonstrate that early-life mitochondrial dysfunction activates AMPK,which in turn not only alleviates mitochondrial abnormalities but also activates TGFβsignaling to increase offspring adult size.Together,our findings provide mechanistic insight into the ancient role of maternal aging in shaping the traits of adult offspring.Runshuai Zhang Jinan Fang Ting Qi Shihao Zhu Luxia Yao Guicun Fang Yunsheng Li Xiao Zang Weina Xu Wanyu Hao Shouye Liu Dan Yang Di Chen Jian Yang Xianjue Ma Lianfeng Wu 2023Cell Research2023,33,11:0
18Structure and properties of samarium overlayer and Sm/Rh surface alloy on Rh(100)显示文摘The structure and properties of Sm overlayer and Sm/Rh surface alloy have been investigated with Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), low energy electron diffraction (LEED), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and temperature programmed desorption spectroscopy (TDS). The growth of Sm on Rh(100) at room temperature (RT) appears following the Stranski-Krastanov growth mode and only the trivalent state Sm is observed from XPS results. Thermal treatment of the Sm film at 900 K leads to the formation of ordered surface alloy which shows the c R45°and c(2 ×2) LEED patterns.
