2Enhancement of Fenton oxidation for removing organic matter from hypersaline solution by accelerating ferric system with hydroxylamine hydrochloride and benzoquinone显示文摘Fenton oxidation is generally inhibited in the presence of a high concentration of chloride ions.This study investigated the feasibility of using benzoquinone(BQ) and hydroxylamine hydrochloride(HA) as Fenton enhancers for the removal of glycerin from saline water under ambient temperature by accelerating the ferric system.It was found that organics removal was not obviously affected by chloride ions of low concentration(less than 0.1 mol/L),while the mineralization rate was strongly inhibited in the presence of a large amount of chloride ions.In addition,ferric hydrolysis-precipitation was significantly alleviated in the presence of HA and BQ,and HA was more effective in reducing ferric ions into ferrous ions than HA,while the H_2O_2 decomposition rate was higher in the BQ-Fenton system.Electron spin resonance analysis revealed that OH production was reduced in high salinity conditions,while it was enhanced after the addition of HA and BQ(especially HA).This study provided a possible solution to control and alleviate the inhibitory effect of chloride ions on the Fenton process for organics removal.Siwei Peng Weijun Zhang Jie He Xiaofang Yang Dongsheng Wang Guisheng Zeng 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,3:10
3Effects of Single and Repeated Exposure to a 50-Hz 2-mT Electromagnetic Field on Primary Cultured Hippocampal Neurons显示文摘The prevalence of domestic and industrial electrical appliances has raised concerns about the health risk of extremely low-frequency magnetic fields(ELF-MFs). At present, the effects of ELF-MFs on the central nervous system are still highly controversial, and few studies have investigated its effects on cultured neurons. Here, we evaluated the biological effects of different patterns of ELF-MF exposure on primary cultured hippocampal neurons in terms of viability, apoptosis, genomic instability,and oxidative stress. The results showed that repeated exposure to 50-Hz 2-mT ELF-MF for 8 h per day after different times in culture decreased the viability and increased the production of intracellular reactive oxidative species in hippocampal neurons. 5A Data and Knowledge Collaboration Strategy for Decision-Making on the Amount of Aluminum Fluoride Addition Based on Augmented Fuzzy Cognitive Maps显示文摘In the aluminum reduction process, aluminum uoride (AlF3) is added to lower the liquidus temperature of the electrolyte and increase the electrolytic ef ciency. Making the decision on the amount of AlF3 addi- tion (referred to in this work as MDAAA) is a complex and knowledge-based task that must take into con- sideration a variety of interrelated functions;in practice, this decision-making step is performed manually. Due to technician subjectivity and the complexity of the aluminum reduction cell, it is dif cult to guarantee the accuracy of MDAAA based on knowledge-driven or data-driven methods alone. Existing strategies for MDAAA have dif culty covering these complex causalities. In this work, a data and knowl- edge collaboration strategy for MDAAA based on augmented fuzzy cognitive maps (FCMs) is proposed. In the proposed strategy, the fuzzy rules are extracted by extended fuzzy k-means (EFKM) and fuzzy deci- sion trees, which are used to amend the initial structure provided by experts. The state transition algo- rithm (STA) is introduced to detect weight matrices that lead the FCMs to desired steady states. This study then experimentally compares the proposed strategy with some existing research. The results of the comparison show that the speed of FCMs convergence into a stable region based on the STA using the proposed strategy is faster than when using the differential Hebbian learning (DHL), particle swarm optimization (PSO), or genetic algorithm (GA) strategies. In addition, the accuracy of MDAAA based on the proposed method is better than those based on other methods. 7HIV-1 Vif suppresses antiviral immunity by targeting STING显示文摘HIV-1 infection-induced cGAS–STING–TBK1–IRF3 signaling activates innate immunity to produce type I interferon(IFN).The HIV-1 nonstructural protein viral infectivity factor(Vif)is essential in HIV-1 replication,as it degrades the host restriction factor APOBEC3G.However,whether and how it regulates the host immune response remains to be determined.In this study,we found that Vif inhibited the production of type I IFN to promote immune evasion.HIV-1 infection induced the activation of the host tyrosine kinase FRK,which subsequently phosphorylated the immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif(ITIM)of Vif and enhanced the interaction between Vif and the cellular tyrosine phosphatase SHP-1 to inhibit type I IFN.Mechanistically,the association of Vif with SHP-1 facilitated SHP-1 recruitment to STING and inhibited the K63-linked ubiquitination of STING at Lys337 by dephosphorylating STING at Tyr162.However,the FRK inhibitor D-65495 counteracted the phosphorylation of Vif to block the immune evasion of HIV-1 and antagonize infection.These findings reveal a previously unknown mechanism through which HIV-1 evades antiviral immunity via the ITIM-containing protein to inhibit the posttranslational modification of STING.These results provide a molecular basis for the development of new therapeutic strategies to treat HIV-1 infection.Yu Wang Gui Qian Lingyan Zhu Zhuo Zhao Yinan Liu Wendong Han Xiaokai Zhang Yihua Zhang Tingrong Xiong Hao Zeng Xianghui Yu Xiaofang Yu Xiaoyan Zhang Jianqing Xu Quanming Zou Dapeng Yan 2022Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,1:2

9Self-perceived Burden among Advanced Cancer Patients: A Cross-Sectional Survey显示文摘Objective:The aims of this study are to explore the prevalence and the influencing factors of SPB(self-perceived burden)among advanced cancer patients.Methods:One hundred fifty-six patients were recruited from the Oncology Comprehensive wards of a comprehensive hospital in Zhuhai city from January to December 2019.Data consisted of a series of questionnaires a week after the patients’hospitalization.Relevant statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS 25.0.Results:58.34%patients reported moderate to severe SPB(VAS≥50 mm).Patients’SPB was associated with place of residence(β=0.160,p=0.049),and time since cancer diagnosis with 7~12 months(β=-0.266,p=0.009)and moderate medical burden(β=-0.209,p=0.037)scores.The proportion of explained variance was 36.0%.Conclusion:Health care professionals should be aware that about over half of advanced cancer patients experience moderate to severe SPB.They should adapt their support of patients who report such a feeling.Xie Minyi Zeng Xiaoe Li Qiaomin Guan Xiaofang Li Siqing Gong Xiaohua 2020Journal of US-China Medical Science2020,17,4:1
10Population Structure Analysis and Genome-Wide Association Study of Tea(Camellia sinensis(L.)Kuntze)Germplasm in Qiannan,China,Based on SLAF-Seq Technology显示文摘Duyun Maojian tea is a famous tea in China.In this study,the specific-locus amplified fragment(SLAF)sequencing method was used to analyze the population structure and conduct a genome-wide association study(GWAS)of 2 leaf traits of 123 tea plants in Qiannan,China.A total of 462,019 SLAF tags and 11,362,041 single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)loci were obtained.The results of phylogenetic tree analysis,cluster analysis,and principal component analysis showed that 123 tea germplasms were clustered into three groups,and the heterozygosity rates for Groups I,II,and II were 0.206,0.224,and 0.34,respectively.Generally,tea germplasms in a production area are clustered in a group,indicating that tea germplasms in different production areas have certain genetic diversity.The traditional Duyun Maojian tea core production areas,TS and DC-SJ,are clustered into Group I and Group II respectively,while the ZY production area is relatively independent in Group III.Furthermore,based on GWAS analysis,11 candidate genes related to leaf apex and 7 candidate genes related to leaf shape were obtained.This study clarified the genetic relationship among eight Duyun Maojian tea production areas and obtained candidate genes related to leaf apex and leaf shape development.The results showed that population structure and candidate genes are an effective basis for the breeding of Duyun Maojian tea germplasm.Fen Zhang Weili Tian Lu Cen Litang Lv Xiaofang Zeng Yulu Chen Yichen Zhao Yan Li 2022Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,4:1
11Comparing the difference in enhancement of kokumi-tastingγ-glutamyl peptides on basic taste via molecular modeling approaches and sensory evaluation显示文摘γ-Glutamyl peptides can enhance basic taste sensations such as saltiness,sweetness,and umaminess,while the molecular mechanism and the difference in taste enhancement remain elusive.Thus,two complex conformations:taste type 1 receptor 1(T1 R1)-MSG and taste type 1 receptor 2(T1 R2)-sucrose were constructed to form binding receptors.These peptides showed affinity for the two receptors,but a higher affi nity scores and more binding amino acid residues for the T1 R1-MSG receptor,implying that they may exhibit a higher umami-enhancing effect.Thereinto,γ-glutamyl alanine(γ-EA)displayed the highest affi nity for the two receptors through mobilizing multiple amino acid residues to form hydrophobic and hydrogen bonds,indicating it had the highest enhancement for umaminess and sweetness among these peptides.Sensory evaluation demonstrated the enhancement ofγ-EA on umaminess was superior to that of sweetness.Generally,γ-glutamyl peptides could enhance basic taste sensation via activating taste receptor,and exhibited a highest umami-enhancing effect.Juan Yang Jing Guo Ruijie Mai Hao Dong Chun Cui Xiaofang Zeng Weidong Bai 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,6:1
12Synthesis and Characterization of Cu Decorated Zeolite A@Void@Et-PMO Nanocomposites for Removal of Methylene Blue by a Heterogeneous Fenton Reaction显示文摘Hydrothermal synthesized nano zeolite A has been encapsulated with ethyl bridged periodic mesoporous organosilica(Et-PMO) shell tlirougli a simple modified Stober method and an organosilane-directed growth-induced etching strategy, the obtained yolk-shell structured A@Et-PMO nanocomposite(YS-A@Et-PMO) was further functionalized by the impregnation of copper ions, realizing the composite material with hierarchical porous and catalytic properties. The morphology and metal content of the Cu/A and Cu/YS-A@Et-PMO were fully characterized. As compared to tlie parent material, the composite Cu/YS-A@Et-PMO has an efficient adsorption and catalytic degradation performance on methylene blue(MB), the removal efficiency reached as high as 95% of 60 mg/L MB within 10 min. 17Crystal structures of main proteases of SARS-CoV-2 variants bound to a benzothiazole-based inhibitor显示文摘Main protease(Mpro)serves as an indispensable factor in the life cycle of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)as well as its constantly emerging variants and is therefore considered an attractive target for antiviral drug development.Benzothiazole-based inhibitors targeting Mpro have recently been investigated by several groups and proven to be promising leads for coronaviral drug development.In the present study,we determine the crystal structures of a benzothiazole-based inhibitor,YH-53,bound to Mpro mutants from SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern(VOCs)or variants of interest(VOIs),including K90R(Beta,B.1.351),G15S(Lambda,C.37),Y54C(Delta,AY.4),M49I(Omicron,BA.5)and P132H(Omicron,B.1.1.529).The structures show that the benzothiazole group in YH-53 forms a C-S covalent bond with the sulfur atom of catalytic residue Cys145 in SARSCoV-2 Mpro mutants.Structural analysis reveals the key molecular determinants necessary for interaction and illustrates the binding mode of YH-53 to these mutant Mpros.In conclusion,structural insights from this study offer more information to develop benzothiazole-based drugs that are broader spectrum,more effective and safer.Jiqing Luo Weiwei Wang Haihai Jiang Wenwen Li Pei Zeng Jie Wang Xuelan Zhou Xiaofang Zou Shenghui Chen Qisheng Wang Jin Zhang Jian Li 2023Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,8:0

20A Two-dimensional Dual-pore Covalent Organic Framework for Efficient Iodine Capture显示文摘Effectively capturing volatile radioiodine generated during the nuclear fission process is considered to be a safe way to the utilization of nuclear power. Here we report a new two-dimensional covalent organic framework(2D COF), ETTA-PyTTA-COF, as a highly efficient iodine adsorbent, which is constructed through the condensation reaction between 4,4’,4’’,4’’’-(ethene-1,1,2,2-tetrayl)-tetrabenzaldehyde(ETTA) and 1,3,6,8-tetrakis(4-aminophenyl)pyrene(PyTTA). The ETTA-PyTTA-COF possesses a permanent 1D channel porous structure with a high Brunauer-Emmet-Teller(BET) surface area of 1519 m2/g and excellent chemical and thermal stability.
