| 1 | Risk assessment on the epidemics of human infection with a novel avian influenza A (H7N9) virus in Jiangsu Province, China显示文摘A novel avian influenza A (H7N9) virus was discovered in February 2013 in China and has resulted in more than 100 comfirmed human infections including 26 fatal cases as of May 2, 2013. The situation raises many urgent questions and global public health concerns. In this study, epidemiologic characteristics of infected human cases in Jiangsu province were analyzed and risk assessment was undertaken based on the information available. Briefly, it is highly unlikely that a pandemic of human infection with avian influenza A (H7N9) virus will happen in Jiangsu Province in the near future. | 2 | Effects of closing and reopening live poultry markets on the epidemic of human infection with avian influenza A virus显示文摘Live poultry markets(LPMs) are crucial places for human infection of influenza A(H7N9 virus).In Yangtze River Delta,LPMs were closed after the outbreak of human infection with avian influenza A(H7N9) virus,and then reopened when no case was found.Our purpose was to quantify the effect of LPMs' operations in this region on the transmission of influenza A(H7N9) virus.We obtained information about dates of symptom onset and locations for all human influenza A(H7N9) cases reported from Shanghai,Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces by May 31,2014,and acquired dates of closures and reopening of LPMs from official media.A two-phase Bayesian model was fitted by Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods to process the spatial and temporal influence of human cases.A total of 235 cases of influenza A(H7N9) were confirmed in Shanghai,Jiangsu and Zhejiang by May 31,2014.Using these data,our analysis showed that,after LPM closures,the influenza A(H7N9) outbreak disappeared within two weeks in Shanghai,one week in Jiangsu,and one week in Zhejiang,respectively.Local authorities reopened LPMs when there was no outbreak of influenza A(H7N9),which did not lead to reemergence of human influenza A(H7N9).LPM closures were effective in controlling the H7N9 outbreak.Reopening of LPM in summer did not increase the risk of human infection with H7N9.Our findings showed that LPMs should be closed immediately in areas where the H7N9 virus is confirmed in LPM.When there is no outbreak of H7N9 virus,LPMs can be reopened to satisfy the Chinese traditional culture of buying live poultry.In the long term,local authorities should take a cautious attitude in permanent LPM closure. | Jian Lu Wendong Liu Rui Xia Qigang Dai Changjun Bao Fenyang Tang Yefei Zhu Qiao Wang | 2016 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2016,30,2: | 7 |
| 3 | Enhancing production of ergosterol in Pichia pastoris GS115 by over-expression of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA reductase from Glycyrrhiza uralensis显示文摘The rate-limiting enzyme in the mevalonic acid(MVA)pathway which can lead to triterpenoid saponin glycyrrhizic acid(GA)is 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase(HMGR).In order to reveal the effect of copy number variation in the HMGR gene on the MVA pathway,the HMGR gene from Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch.(GuHMGR)was cloned and over-expressed in Pichia pastoris GS115.Six recombinant P.pastoris strains containing different copy numbers of the GuHMGR gene were obtained and the content of ergosterol was analyzed by HPLC.The results showed that all the recombinant P.pastoris strains contained more ergosterol than the negative control and the strains with 8 and 44 copies contained significantly more ergosterol than the other strains.However,as the copy number increased,the content of ergosterol showed an increasing–decreasing–increasing pattern.This study provides a rationale for increasing the content of GA through over-expressing the GuHMGR gene in cultivars of G.uralensis. | Ying Liu Xiaoqing Zhu Wendong Li Hao Wen Ya Gao Yong Liu Chunsheng Liu | 2014 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2014,4,2: | 7 |

| 5 | Effects of fulvic acid and humic acid on aluminum speciation in drinking water显示文摘This article focused on the influences of fulvic acid and humic acid on aluminum speciation in drinking water.Factors including the concentration of residual chlorine and pH value had been concerned.Aluminum species investigated in the experiments included inorganic mononuclear,organic mononuclear,mononuclear,polymer,soluble,and suspended forms.It was found that the effects of fulvic acid and humic acid on aluminum speciation depended mainly on their molecular weight.Fulvic acid with molecular weight less than 5000 Dalton had little influence on aluminum speciation;while fulvic acid with molecular weight larger than 5000 Dalton and humic acid would increase the concentration of soluble aluminum significantly even at concentration below 0.5 mg/L(calculated as TOC).Aluminum species,in the present of fulvic acid with molecular weight larger than 5000 Dalton and humic acid,were more stable than that in the present of fluvic acid with molecular mass less than 5000 Dalton,and varied little with reaction time.Within pH range 6.5-7.5,soluble aluminum increased notably in water with organic matter.As the concentration of residual chlorine increased,the effects of fulvic acid and humic acid became weak.The reactions between humic acid,fulvic acid with large molecular weight,and aluminum were considered to be a multi-dentate coordination process.With the consideration of aluminum bioavailability,reducing the concentration of fulvic acid and humic acid and keeping the pH value among 6.5-7.5 were recommended during drinking water treatment. | Wendong Wang Hongwei Yang Xiaochang Wang Jing Jiang Wanpeng Zhu | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,2: | 6 |
| 6 | Monitoring strata behavior due to multi-slicing top coal caving longwall mining in steeply dipping extra thick coal seam显示文摘For studying the strata behavior due to multi-slicing top coal caving longwall mining along-the-strike direction in steeply dipping extra thick coal seams,the shield support pressures of the upper and lower slices of panel 37220 in Dongxia Coal Mine were monitored using the KJ513 dynamic monitoring system.The set up rooms adopted the 'horizontal line-arc segment-inclined line' form and used different types of shield supports.The results show that the strata pressure of upper slice panel 37220-1 changed slightly along the strike direction,while along the dip direction it exhibited strong to weak pressure from bottom to top.The first weighting interval of lower slice panel 37220-2 was about 60.8 m,and the average periodic weighting interval were about 22.6 m.The strata behavior of panel 37220-2 exhibited a spatiotemporal characteristic in that periodic weighting occurred first in the middle-upper part,followed by the middle and upper parts,arc segment,and finally the lower part.During the periodic weighting,the weighting interval and intensity also exhibited strong space characteristics.The average dynamic load coefficient was 1.48 and the maximum lateral load of the side shield was 20-25 MPa. | Yun Dongfeng Liu Zhu Cheng Wendong Fan Zhendong Wang Dongfang Zhang Yuanhao | 2017 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2017,27,1: | 5 |
| 7 | Ganoderma lucidum spore oil(GLSO),a novel antioxidant,extends the average life span in Drosophila melanogaster显示文摘In ancient China,Ganoderma lucidum was believed to be a medical fungus that could increase lifespan.Recently,pharmacologic studies have found that polysaccharide peptides and triterpenoids extracted from Ganoderma lucidum have various physiological effects as active compounds.However,the effects of spore oil isolated from Ganoderma lucidum remains unknown.In this study,the biological effects of Ganoderma lucidum spore oil(GLSO)were evaluated using a Drosophila melanogaster model.Compared with untreated groups,groups treated with GLSO had significantly longer average and maximum lifespan in both normal conditions and under oxidative stress.The activities of various antioxidant enzymes were measured to determine the antioxidant effect of GLSO.GLSO treatment markedly enhanced total superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)activity and decreased levels of malondialdehyde(MDA).Further,we found dose-dependent increases in the mRNA expression of Cu,Zn-SOD,Mn-SOD,and CAT in GLSO-treated groups.These results suggest that GLSO may effectively eliminate free radicals and extend lifespan in Drosophila.Future work should investigate the value of GLSO as a functional food for the prevention of aging in larger animal models. | Yi Zhang Hongfei Cai Zhu Tao Cheng Yuan Zhaojian Jiang Juyan Liu Hiroshi Kurihara Wendong Xu | 2021 | Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,1: | 3 |

| 9 | HIV-1 Vif suppresses antiviral immunity by targeting STING显示文摘HIV-1 infection-induced cGAS–STING–TBK1–IRF3 signaling activates innate immunity to produce type I interferon(IFN).The HIV-1 nonstructural protein viral infectivity factor(Vif)is essential in HIV-1 replication,as it degrades the host restriction factor APOBEC3G.However,whether and how it regulates the host immune response remains to be determined.In this study,we found that Vif inhibited the production of type I IFN to promote immune evasion.HIV-1 infection induced the activation of the host tyrosine kinase FRK,which subsequently phosphorylated the immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif(ITIM)of Vif and enhanced the interaction between Vif and the cellular tyrosine phosphatase SHP-1 to inhibit type I IFN.Mechanistically,the association of Vif with SHP-1 facilitated SHP-1 recruitment to STING and inhibited the K63-linked ubiquitination of STING at Lys337 by dephosphorylating STING at Tyr162.However,the FRK inhibitor D-65495 counteracted the phosphorylation of Vif to block the immune evasion of HIV-1 and antagonize infection.These findings reveal a previously unknown mechanism through which HIV-1 evades antiviral immunity via the ITIM-containing protein to inhibit the posttranslational modification of STING.These results provide a molecular basis for the development of new therapeutic strategies to treat HIV-1 infection. | Yu Wang Gui Qian Lingyan Zhu Zhuo Zhao Yinan Liu Wendong Han Xiaokai Zhang Yihua Zhang Tingrong Xiong Hao Zeng Xianghui Yu Xiaofang Yu Xiaoyan Zhang Jianqing Xu Quanming Zou Dapeng Yan | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,1: | 2 |

Based on analysis from XPS measurements, it has been confirmed that the interfacial layer of HfTiO/Ge gate stack has been suppressed effectively after 20 half-ALD cycles TMA pretreatment. Electrical properties of metal-oxidesemiconductor(MOS) capacitor based on HfTiO gate dielectrics have shown that the MOS capacitor with20 cycles TMA cleaning exhibits the lowest interface state density(~7.56 eV^(-1)cm^(-2)) and the smallest leakage current(~2.67 × 10^(-5)A/cm^2). | 12 | Effects of Groundwater with Various Salinities on Evaporation and Redistribution of Water and Salt in Saline-sodic Soils in Songnen Plain,Northeast China显示文摘Groundwater mineralization is one of the main factors affecting the transport of soil water and salt in saline-sodic areas.To investigate the effects of groundwater with different levels of salinity on evaporation and distributions of soil water and salt in Songnen Plain,Northeast China,five levels of groundwater sodium adsorption ration of water(SARw)and total salt content(TSC mmol/L)were conducted in an oil column lysimeters.The five treated groundwater labeled as ST0:0,ST0:10,ST5:40,ST10:70 and ST20:100,were prepared with NaCl and CaCl2 in proportion,respectively.The results showed the groundwater evaporation(GWE)and soil evaporation(SE)increased firstly and then decreased with the increase of groundwater salinity.The values of GWE and SE in ST10:70 treatment were the highest,which were 2.09 and 1.84 times the values in the ST0:0 treatment with the lowest GWE and SE.There was a positive linear correlation between GWE and the Ca^(2+)content in groundwater,with R^(2)=0.998.The soil water content(SWC)of ST0:0 treatment was significantly(P<0.05)less than those of other treatments during the test.The SWC of the ST0:0 and ST0:10 treatments increased with the increase of soil depth,while the other treatments showed the opposite trend.Statistical analysis indicated the SWC in the 0–60 cm soil layer was positively correlated with the groundwater TSC and its ion contents during the test.Salt accumulation occurred in the topsoil and the salt accumulation in the 0–20 cm soil layer was significantly(P<0.05)greater than that in the subsoil.This study revealed the effects of the salinity level of groundwater,especially the Ca^(2+)content and TSC of groundwater,on the GWE and distributions of soil water and salt,which provided important support for the prevention and reclamation of soil salinization and sodificaton in shallow groundwater regions. | ZHU Wendong ZHAO Dandan YANG Fan WANG Zhichun DONG Shide AN Fenghua MA Hongyuan ZHANG Lu TIBOR Tóth | 2023 | Chinese Geographical Science2023,33,6: | 0 |
| 13 | One-dimensional metallic, magnetic, and dielectric nanomaterialsbased composites for electromagnetic wave interference shielding显示文摘The excrescent electromagnetic(EM)radiation exposure in the air threatens human health and electronic equipment due to the abuse of EM waves in wireless telecommunication technology and electronic applications.Consequently,electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials are provided to solve the EM waves pollution problem.In particular,the appearance of onedimensional(1D)metallic,magnetic,and dielectric nanofillers will extremely reduce the density of EMI composite and enhance EMI protection performance because they can easily assemble to form complete two-dimensional(2D)or three-dimensional(3D)EMI network based on their high aspect ratio,large specific surface area,and additional attenuated sites.This review focuses on the EMI shielding composites with 1D metallic,magnetic,and dielectric nanofillers,which could be constructed in the final form of membrane-or aerogel/sponge-like shielding materials.According to the structural features,1D metallic,magnetic,and dielectric nanofillers are classified into nanowires,nanorods,nanospindles,nanochains,nanofibers,nanotubes,nanorings,nanocoils,and quasi-one-dimensional(1D)van der Waals materials.Accordingly,the fabricated routes,shielding performances,and EM waves attenuation mechanism of the 1D metallic,magnetic,and dielectric nanofiller-based composites are summarized.It is found that the dominant shielding mechanism of most of the 1D metal-based EMI composites is reflection loss,while that of 1D magnetic and dielectric nanomaterials-based EMI composites is absorption loss caused by interfacial polarization,natural resonance,eddy current,and multiple scattering.Finally,the challenges and prospects of 1D nanofiller-based composites with a tunable architecture and composition are put forward,aiming to give a guideline for the next generation of high-performance EMI shielding materials. | Ya Cheng Wendong Zhu Xiaofeng Lu Ce Wang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,10: | 0 |
