1Efficacy and safety of Yinchenwuling powder for hyperlipidemia: a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To assess the clinical effectiveness and adverse effects of Yinchenwuling powder(YCWLP)in the treatment of hyperlipidemia using Meta-analysis.METHODS:Seven electronic databases were searched for randomized controlled trials designed to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of YCWLP for hyperlipidemia published in any language prior to February 2015.Two reviewers independently identified articles,extracted data,assessed quality,and cross-checked the results.Revman 5.3 was used to analyze the data.RESULTS:Only five randomized controlled trials with poor methodology were included in the analy-sis.The five trials compared YCWLP with conventional lipid-lowering drugs.Meta-analysis indicated that YCWLP was more effective at the levels of total cholesterol and triglycerides,while increasing the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol without serious adverse effects.However,it was not more effective than lipid-lowering drugs in reducing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and improving hemorheology.CONCLUSION:YCWLP appeared to improve lipid levels.However,given the high risk of bias among the trials,we could not conclude that YCWLP was beneficial to patients with hyperlipidemia.More rigorous trials are required to provide stronger evidence for the conclusion.Yao Haiqiang Zhang Zengliang Wang Ji Zuo Jiacheng Chen Yu Zhu Libing Li Xiaoke Yang Zheng Wang Zisong Sun Ranran Xu Xuanxuan Li Changming Wu Yanling Li Lingru Wang Qi 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,2:11
2Single small molecule-assembled nanoparticles mediate efficient oral drug delivery显示文摘Oral drug delivery,which requires surviving the harsh environment in the gastrointestinal(Gl)tract and penetrating the intestinal epithelium,has not bee n achieved using simple formulatio n nan oparticles(NPs).Medici nal natural products(MNPs)have bee n widely used in traditi onal medicine for disease management through oral consumption.However,most pharmacologically active compounds within MNPs do not have the properties suitable for oral applicatio ns.We hypothesize that some MNPs contain n atural nano materials that can convert those compounds into oral formulations by forming NPs.After screening 66 MNPs,we identified five classes of small molecules that form NPs,many of which are capable of efficient drug encapsulation and Gl penetration.We show that one of them,dehydrotrametenolic acid(DTA),is capable of mediating oral delivery for effective disease treatment.We determined that DTA NPs assemble through hydrogen bonding and penetra怕the Gl tract via apical sodium-depe ndent bile acid tran sporter.Our study reveals a no vel class of single comp orient,small molecule-assembled NPs for oral drug delivery,and suggests a n ovel approach to modernizi ng MNPs through nano material discovery.Xin Yang Chao Ma Zeming Chen Jun Liu Fuyao Liu Rongbin Xie Haitian Zhao Gang Deng Ann TChen Ningbo Gong Lei Yao Pengjian Zuo Kangkang Zhi Jiacheng Wang Xiaobin Gao Jing Wang Louzhen Fan Jiangbing Zhou 2019Nano Research2019,12,10:4
3Jiangtang Xiaoke granule attenuates glucose metabolism disorder via regulating endoplasmic reticulum stress in the liver of type 2 diabetes mellitus mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of Jiangtang Xiaoke(JTXK) granule on endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress in high fat diet(HFD)-induced type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2 DM) KK-Ay mice.METHODS:KK-Ay mice were fed with HFD to induce the T2 DM model,while normal control C57 BL/6 J mice were given standard feed.Fasting blood glucose(FBG) in all mice was measured weekly and oral glucose tolerance tests(OGTTs) were performed at 4 and 10 weeks after start of treatment to determine glucose metabolism.Serum fasting insulin(FINS) and insulin sensitivity index(ISI) were measured to determine insulin sensitivity.m RNA expressions of eukaryotic initiation factor-2 alpha(e IF2α),glucose regulated protein 78(GRP78),activating transcription factor 4(ATF4),and C/EBP homology protein(CHOP) were assessed by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and the protein expressions of p-e IF2α,GRP78,and CHOP were assessed by Western blotting.RESULTS:JTXK granule significantly reduced FBG and free fatty acid levels and improved OGTT at the120 min of the 10-week treatment in T2 DM KK-Ay mice.FINS and Hb Alc levels were reduced and insulin sensitivities were increased in KK-Ay diabetic mice,which were improved with the treatment of JTXK granule,especially at the 7 and 3.5 g/kg doses.JTXK granule at the 3.5 g/kg dose was most effective in reducing both gene and protein expressions of e IF2α,GRP78,and CHOP.CONCLUSION:ER stress response is increased in T2 DM KK-Ay mice.Treatment with JTXK granule attenuates glucose disorders,improves insulin sensitivity,and reduces serum FFA in T2 DM KK-Ay mice.The mechanisms may be attributed to regulation of the signaling ER stress pathway via decreasing e IF2α phosphorylation and suppressing e IF2α-ATF4-CHOP activation.Zhang Yi Mo Fangfang Zhang Dongwei Gao Sihua Zhao Dandan Yu Na Mu Qianqian Zuo Jiacheng Ma Yue 2018Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,4:3
4In Situ Scattering Studies of Crystallization Kinetics in a Phase-Separated Zr-Cu-Fe-Al Bulk Metallic Glass显示文摘Thermal stability and the crystallization kinetics of a phase-separated Zr-Cu-Fe-Al bulk metallic glass were investigated using in situ high-energy synchrotron X-ray and neutron diffraction,as well as small-angle synchrotron X-ray scattering.It was revealed that this glass with excellent glass-forming ability possesses a two-step crystallization behavior.The crystalline products and their evolution sequence are more complicated than a homogeneous Zr-Cu-Al glass with average glass-forming ability.The experimental results indicate that a finely distributed nanometer-sized cubic Zr_(2)Cu phase forms first and then transforms to a tetragonal Zr_(2)Cu phase,while the matrix transforms to an orthorhombic Zr_(3)Fe phase.The strength of the Zr-Cu-Fe-Al composite containing cubic Zr_(2)Cu phase and glass matrix increases,and the plasticity also improves compared to the as-cast Zr-Cu-Fe-Al bulk metallic glass.Our results suggest that the formation of multiple and complex crystalline products would be the characteristics of the Zr-Cu-Fe-Al glass with better glass-forming ability.Our study may shed light on the synthesis of bulk-sized glass-nanocrystals composites of high strength and good plasticity.Sinan Liu Jiacheng Ge Huiqaing Ying Chenyu Lu Dong Ma Xun-Li Wang Xiaobing Zuo Yang Ren Tao Feng Jun Shen Horst Hahn Si Lan 2022Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,1:0
5Effect of traditional Chinese medicine on anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity in animal models:A systematic review and metaanalysis显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the effect of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)on anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity(AIC)in animal models.Methods:Separate systematic searches for preclinical studies were performed in the PubMed,EMBASE,Web of Science,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chinese Biomedical Database,Chinese Scientific Journal Database,and Wanfang Data from inception to August 2019.The primary outcomes were echocardiography,serum assays for myocardial enzymograms,histological assessments,and electrocardiograms.The secondary outcomes mainly included body weight and safety evaluations.The protocol is registered on PROSPERO(CRD42019145819).RevMan(V.5.3)was used for meta-analysis.Results:We identified 10 studies from 9 international scientific publications describing the efficacy of TCM on AIC animal models.All the included studies reported that,compared with animal model without any intervention,TCM significantly improved ventricular function,cardiac biomarkers,electrocardiograph results,and cardiac fibrosis.Improved survival rates and body mass indices were also observed with TCM.We further pooled the available data from four studies(63 animals)for the meta-analysis and the results showed that,compared with models without any intervention,TCM significantly increased the ejection fraction by 14.13%(95%CI,9.96e18.29)and fraction shortening by 8.66%(95%CI,6.05 e11.26).Creatine kinase-MB(SMD=2.49,95%CI:-3.12 to-1.85)and lactate dehydrogenase(SMD=-2.78,95%CI:-3.45 to-2.12)were also significantly decreased by TCM.Conclusions:TCM is effective in improving AIC in animal models and has tremendous potential to be translated to treat AIC in clinical practice.Additionally,the systematic review and meta-analysis of animal experiments may be valuable in enhancing and guiding animal experiments and promoting the transformation of the results.Xiaoguang Lu Yili Zhang Yong Wang Jingen Li Jiacheng Zuo Wei Wang 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2021,8,1:0
6Ginsenoside rg3 reduces body weight by regulating fat content and browning in obese mice显示文摘Objective:To determine the effects of ginsenoside rg3 on the body weight of C57BL/6J obese mice and to investigate its underlying weight loss mechanisms with a focus on white fat browning-related factors.Methods:Eight-week-old C57BL/6J male mice were fed a high-fat diet for 12 successive weeks to construct the obese model.C57BL/6J male mice were fed a standard chow diet to construct normal control group.After 8 weeks of intervention with ginsenoside rg3,the food intake,body weight,body fat mass,blood sugar,and lipid profiles of the mice in each group were detected.Hematoxylin and eosin(HE)staining was used to observe the histological morphology of the adipose tissues.Real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and Western blotting(WB)were applied to detect the gene and protein expression levels of peroxisome proliferators-activated receptor gama(PPARg),Peroxisome proliferatoractivated receptor-gamma coactivator-1alpha(PGC-1a),PR domain containing 16(PRDM16),and uncoupling protein 1(UCP-1).Results:Compared to normal control group mice,the body weight,food intake,body fat composition,and blood lipid levels of model group mice increased significantly.After 8 weeks of intervention with ginsenoside rg3,body weight,body fat composition,food intake,and blood lipid profiles decreased.HE staining showed that ginsenoside rg3 can improve white adipocyte hypertrophy to a certain extent.RTPCR and WB demonstrated that ginsenoside rg3 can increase the mRNA and protein expression levels of PPARg,PGC-1a,PRDM16,and UCP-1 in the adipose tissues of obese mice.Conclusion:The weight reduction effect of ginsenoside rg3 may be related to the promotion of white fat browning.Qianqian Mu Jiacheng Zuo Dandan Zhao Xiaoshan Zhou Jing Hua Ying Bai Fangfang Mo Xin Fang Min Fu Sihua Gao 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2021,8,1:0
7In situ study on medium-range order evolution during the polyamorphous phase transition in a Pd-Ni-P nanostructured glass显示文摘Engineering multiscale structural hierarchies in glassy alloys enable a broad spectrum of potential applications.Metallic glasses were born in hierarchical structures from atomic-to-nanometer scales.However,the frozen-in structures in traditional metallic glasses prepared by rapid quenching techniques are challenging to tailor.Here,we show that a PdNiPbulk nanostructured glass of polyamorphous interfacial structures was prepared by inert-gas condensation with a laser evaporation source,and its multiscale structures could be engineered.In-situ scattering experiment results reveal polyamorphous phase transitions occurred in the interfacial regions,which are accompanied by the evolution of medium-range order and the nanoscale heterogeneous structures during the condensation process of glassy nanoparticles under high pressure and the following heating process.Moreover,changes in the cluster connectivity resulting from repacking of the local ordering induced by pressure and temperature could be observed.The thermophysical and mechanical properties,including boson peaks,hardness,and elasticity modulus,could be changed as a function of heat-treatment parameters.Our findings would shed light on the synthesis of bulk nanostructured glassy alloys with tailorable thermodynamic and dynamical behavior as well as mechanical properties based on the understanding of metastability for polyamorphous interfacial phases.Shu Fu Sinan Liu Jiacheng Ge Junjie Wang Huiqiang Ying Shangshu Wu Mengyang Yan Li Zhu Yubin Ke Junhua Luan Yang Ren Xiaobing Zuo Zhenduo Wu Zhen Peng Chain-Tsuan Liu Xun-Li Wang Tao Feng Si Lan 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,30:0
