2OB glue paste technique for establishing nude mouse human gastric cancer orthotopic transplantation models显示文摘AIM: To establish nude mouse human gastric cancer orthotopic transplantation models using OB glue paste technique. METHODS: Using OB glue paste technique, orthtopic transplantation models were established by implanting SGC-7901 and MKN-45 human gastric cancer cell strains into the gastric wall of nude mice. Biological features, growth of the implanted tumors, the success rate of transplantation and the rate of auto-metastasis of the two models were observed. RESULTS: The success rates of orthotopic transplan- tation of the two models were 94.20% and 96%. The rates of hepatic metastasis, pulmonary metastasis, peritoneal metastasis, lymphocytic metastasis and splenic metastasis were 42.13% and 94.20%, 48.43% and 57.97%, 30.83% and 36.96%, 67.30% and 84.06%, and 59.75% and 10.53%, respectively. The occurrence of ascites was 47.80% and 36.96%. CONCLUSION: OB glue paste technique is easy to follow. 4Visfatin Protects Rat Pancreatic β-cells against IFN-γ-Induced Apoptosis through AMPK and ERK1/2 Signaling Pathways显示文摘Objective Interferon-γ(IFN-γ) plays an important role in apoptosis and was shown to increase the risk of diabetes. Visfatin, an adipokine, has anti-diabetic, anti-tumor, and regulating inflammatory properties. In this study we investigated the effect of visfatin on IFN-γ-induced apoptosis in rat pancreatic β-cells. Methods The RINm5F(rat insulinoma cell line) cells exposed to IFN-γ were treated with or without visfatin. The viability and apoptosis of the cells were assessed by using MTT and flow cytometry. The expressions of m RNA and protein were detected by using real-time PCR and western blot analysis. Results The exposure of RINm5 F cells to IFN-γ for 48 h led to increased apoptosis percentage of the cells. Visfatin pretreatment significantly increased the cell viability and reduced the cell apoptosis induced by IFN-γ. IFN-γ-induced increase in expression of p53 m RNA and cytochrome c protein, decrease in m RNA and protein levels of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 were attenuated by visfatin pretreatment. Visfatin also increased AMPK and ERK1/2 phosphorylation and the anti-apoptotic action of visfatin was attenuated by the AMPK and ERK1/2 inhibitor. Conclusion These results suggested that visfatin protected pancreatic islet cells against IFN-γ-induced apoptosis via mitochondria-dependent apoptotic pathway. 5Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Lung Cancer Patients显示文摘The prevalence of malnutrition is high among oncology patients in China. Although the Patient- Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is widely recognized as an important nutritional assessment tool, it has not been validated for Chinese cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to conduct an analysis of nutrition screening and assessment data to validate the Chinese version of the PG-SGA in Chinese patients with lung cancer. This was an observational, cross-sectional study of 2,000 consecutive adult patients with lung cancer treated at several tertiary hospitals in China. Anthropometric and patient descriptive data were collected. The PG-SGA generated a score for the nutritional risk and a global rating for the nutritional status. The internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity were evaluated, and a known-groups comparison and principal component analyses were conducted to evaluate the reliability and validity of the PG-SGA. The known-groups comparison demonstrated the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate lung cancer patients of different nutritional and body mass index (BMI) groups. A confirmatory factor analysis supported the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. In terms of the internal and external consistency, the PG-SGA demonstrated intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) up to 0.987. Alternative form validity was also demonstrated between Box 4 of the PG-SGA and the Karnofsky Performance Status score, with excellent external consistency (r = 0.972, P < 0.001). The construct validity was supported, and selected questionnaire dimensions were evident in the principal component analysis. Significant Spearman correlations (P < 0.001) were demonstrated. The Chinese version of the PG-SGA demonstrated significant reliability and sufficient exploratory properties to support its validity. It seems to be a valid tool that can be used to access the nutritional status of Chinese lung cancer patients. 7Prevalence and Years Lived with Disability for Dental Caries among Children Aged 0-14 Years in China, 1990-2016显示文摘The estimate of dental caries among Chinese children at the microscale level using standard methodology remains unclear.In this study,we assessed and analyzed the disease burden of childhood dental caries in China by extracting data from the Global Burden of Disease,Injuries,and Risk Factors Study 2016(GBD 2016).In 2016,the number of cases,prevalence,years lived with disability(YLD),and age-standardized YLD rate of dental caries was 93.0 million,43.0%,32,200 person years,and 14.8 per 100,000,respectively.Across 33 provincial units,the disease burden was highest in Hubei(YLD rate 28.6 per 100,000),lowest in Macao(9.1 per 100,000),while geographical clustering was not observed.Compared with 1990,the prevalence in 2016 decreased from 46.8% to 43.0%,and the YLD rate decreased from 16.5 per 100,000 to 14.8 per 100,000.Given the slight decrease in dental caries burden,the prevalence and disease burden remained high among Chinese children.Strategies for addressing the spatial inequity of childhood dental caries require geographical targeting.liu wen zhao su ling yu xie xu dong xiang xue rong huang jiao ji ping 2018Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2018,31,5:5
8Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Gastric Cancer Patients显示文摘Purpose Malnutrition is severe among gastric cancer patients in China. The aim of this research is to validate the Chinese version of the PGSGA in Chinese gastric cancer patients by conducting analyses of nutrition screening and assessment data. Methods Two thousand consecutive adult patients with gastric cancer were included in this observational, cross-sectional study in several tertiary hospitals in China. A survey was made among those patients, which included several questionnaires and some anthropometric parameters. We calculated the parameters to validate the use of PG-SGA categorizing the nutritional status of gastric cancer patients. Then we performed statistical analysis to evaluate the internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity. Results This study verified the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate gastric cancer patients into different nutritional groups. The confirmatory factor analysis verified the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. The internal and external consistency was measured by a concordance analysis which showed an intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) of 0.987. The correlations of the Box 4 score with the Karnofsky performance status score demonstrated alternative form validity with good external consistency (Pearson, r = 0.643, P < 0.001). All three anthropometric dimensions of the PG-SGA were supported by principal component analysis. Spearman correlations (P < 0.001) were significant in the majority of tests. 9High Physical Activity is Associated with an Improved Lipid Profile and Resting Heart Rate among Healthy Middle-aged Chinese People显示文摘Objective To investigate the effects of physical activity(PA) on dyslipidemia and elevated resting heart rate(RHR) in a large-scale cross-sectional study in China. Methods We recruited community-based individuals who were 40-60 years old using a cluster sampling method. The PA levels of the participants were classified as low, moderate, or high, using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire. Dyslipidemia was defined as the detection of abnormalities in lipid indicators, and 4 lipid parameters were evaluated using fasting blood samples. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to evaluate the associations of PA with dyslipidemia and RHR. Results A total of 10,321 participants(38.88% men) were included in this study. The percentages of individuals with high, moderate, and low PA levels were 46.5%, 43.9%, and 9.6%, respectively. In both men and women, high PA provided odds ratios of 0.88 [95% confidence interval(CI): 0.83, 0.94] for dyslipidemia and 0.82(95% CI: 0.73, 0.92) for elevated RHR, compared to participants with low PA. 13Impact of formation water on the generation of H2S in condensate reservoirs: a case study from the deep Ordovician in the Tazhong Uplift of the Tarim Basin, NW China显示文摘A number of condensate reservoirs with high concentrations of H_2S have been discovered in the deep dolomite reservoirs of the lower Ordovician Yingshan Formation(O_1y) in the Tazhong Uplift, where the formation water has a high p H value. In the O_1y reservoir, the concentrations of Mg^(2+)and SO_4^(2-)in the formation water are higher than those in the upper Ordovician formation.The concentration of H2 S in the condensate reservoirs and the concentration of Mg^(2+)in the formation water correlate well in the O_1y reservoirs of the Tazhong Uplift, which indicates a presumed thermochemical sulfate reduction(TSR) origin of H_2S according to the oxidation theory of contact ion-pairs(CIPs). Besides, the p H values of the formation water are positively correlated with the concentration of H_2S in the condensate reservoirs, which may indicate that high p H might be another factor to promote and maintain TSR. Oil–source correlation of biomarkers in the sulfuretted condensates indicates the Cambrian source rocks could be the origin of condensates. The formation water in the condensate reservoirs of O_1y is similar to that in the Cambrian; therefore, the TSR of sulfate-CIPs likelyoccurred in the Cambrian. High H_2S-bearing condensates are mainly located near the No. 1 Fault and NE-SW strikeslip faults, which are the major migration pathway of deep fluids in the Tazhong Uplift. The redox between sulfateCIPs and hydrocarbons is the generation mechanism of H_2S in the deep dolomite condensate reservoirs of the Tazhong Uplift. 15Acceleration feedback control (AFC) enhanced by disturbance observation and compensation (DOC) for high precision tracking in telescope systems显示文摘In this paper, a cascade acceleration feedback control(AFC) enhanced by a disturbance observation and compensation(DOC) method is proposed to improve the tracking precision of telescope systems.Telescope systems usually suffer some uncertain disturbances, such as wind load, nonlinear friction and other unknown disturbances. To ensure tracking precision, an acceleration feedback loop which can increase the stiffness of such a system is introduced. Moreover, to further improve the tracking precision, we introduce the DOC method which can accurately estimate the disturbance and compensate it. Furthermore,the analysis of tracking accuracy used by this method is proposed. 17Kinetic Characteristics of Neutralizing Antibody Responses Vary among Patients with COVID-19显示文摘Objective The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) pandemic continues to present a major challenge to public health. Vaccine development requires an understanding of the kinetics of neutralizing antibody(NAb) responses to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).Methods In total, 605 serum samples from 125 COVID-19 patients(from January 1 to March 14, 2020)varying in age, sex, severity of symptoms, and presence of underlying diseases were collected, and antibody titers were measured using a micro-neutralization assay with wild-type SARS-CoV-2.Results NAbs were detectable approximately 10 days post-onset(dpo) of symptoms and peaked at approximately 20 dpo. The NAb levels were slightly higher in young males and severe cases, while no significant difference was observed for the other classifications. In follow-up cases, the NAb titer had increased or stabilized in 18 cases, whereas it had decreased in 26 cases, and in one case NAbs were undetectable at the end of our observation. Although a decreasing trend in NAb titer was observed in many cases, the NAb level was generally still protective.Conclusion We demonstrated that NAb levels vary among all categories of COVID-19 patients. 18Garment embedded sweat-activated batteries in wearable electronics for continuous sweat monitoring显示文摘Thin,soft,and skin-integrated electronic system has great advantages for realizing continuous human healthcare monitoring.Here,we report an ultra-thin,flexible,and garment-based microelectronics powered by sweat-activated batteries(SABs)and applications of powering biosensors and microelectronic systems for real time sweat monitoring.The SAB cell is ultra-thin(1.25 mm)with excellent biocompatibility.The SAB has good electricity output with high capacity(14.33 mAh)and maximum power density(3.17 mW cm^(−2))after being activated by the sweat volume of 0.045 mL cm^(−2),which could continuously power 120 light emitting diodes over 3 h.The outputs could maintain stable after repeatable bending.Wireless microelectronics system could be continuously powered by the SABs for 3 h to monitor sweat and physiological information,including sweat Na+concentration,pH,and skin impedance.The reported integrated system provides a potential for solving the power issues of flexible wearable electronics and realizing personalized medicine.Xingcan Huang Yiming Liu Jingkun Zhou Sina Khazaee Nejad Tsz Hung Wong Ya Huang Hu Li Chun Ki Yiu Wooyoung Park Jian Li Jingyou Su Ling Zhao Kuanming Yao Mengge Wu Zhan Gao Dengfeng Li Jiyu Li Rui Shi Xinge Yu 2022npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1:1
