| 1 | Relationship between brain—derived neurotrophic factor and cognitive function of obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome patients显示文摘Objective:To determine the relationship between the blood serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF) level and cognitive function deterioration in patients with obstructive sleep apnea/ hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS),and to explore the possible mechanism of cognitive impairment. Methods:Twenty-eight male OSAHS patients and 14 normal males(as controls) were enrolled in the study.Polysomnography and the Montreal cognitive assessment(MoCA) were conducted. The blood serum BDNF levels were measured using ELISA.Results:The OSAHS group had significantly decreased blood serum BDNF levels compared with the control group(t=-10.912, P=0.000).The blood serum BDNF level of the subjects was significantly positively associated with the MoCA score(r=0.544,P=0.000),significantly negatively associated with the apneahypopnea index(AHI) and shallow sleep(S1+S2)(AHI:r=-0.607,P=0.000;S1+S2:r =-0.768,P= 0.000),and significantly positively associated with the lowest SaO2(LSO),slow wave sleep(S3+S4), and rapid eye movement sleep(REM)(LSO:r=0.566,P = 0.000;S3+S4:r=0.778,P=0.000;REM: r=0.575,P=0.000).Conclusions:OSAHS patients have significantly decreased blood serum BDNF levels compared with the control.Nocturnal hypoxia as well as the deprivation of slow wave sleep and REM may lead to the decreased serum BDNF level of OSAHS patients.This decreased blood serum BDNF level may contribute to the cognitive impairment in OSAHS. | Wei-Hong Wang Guo-Ping He Xu-Ping Xiao Can Gu Hua-Ying Chen | 2012 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2012,5,11: | 15 |
| 2 | Polyploid organisms显示文摘Polyploids are organisms with three or more complete chromosome sets. Polyploidization is widespread in plants and animals, and is an important mechanism of speciation. Genome sequencing and related molecular systematics and bioinformatics studies on plants and animals in recent years support the view that species have been shaped by whole genome duplication during evolution. The stability of polyploids depends on rapid genome recombination and changes in gene expression after formation. The formation of polyploids and subsequent diploidization are important aspects in long-term evolution. Polyploids can be formed in various ways. Among them, hybrid organisms formed by distant hybridization could produce unreduced gametes and thus generate offspring with doubled chromosomes, which is a fast, efficient method of polyploidization. The formation of fertile polyploids not only promoted the interflow of genetic materials among species and enriched the species diversity, but also laid the foundation for polyploidy breeding. The study of polyploids has both important theoretical significance and valuable applications. | 6 | Resuscitation incoherence and dynamic circulation-perfusion coupling in circulatory shock显示文摘Objective: Poor tissue perfusion/cellular hypoxia may persist despite restoration of the macrocirculation (Macro). This article reviewed the literatures of coherence between hemodynamics and tissue perfusion in circulatory shock. Data sources: We retrieved information from the PubMed database up to January 2018 using various search terms or/and their combinations, including resuscitation, circulatory shock, septic shock, tissue perfusion, hemodynamic coherence, and microcirculation (Micro). Study selection: The data from peer-reviewed journals printed in English on the relationships of tissue perfusion, shock, and resuscitation were included. Results: A binary (coherence/incoherence, coupled/uncoupled, or associated/disassociated) mode is used to describe resuscitation coherence. The phenomenon of resuscitation incoherence (RI) has gained great attention. However, the RI concept requires a more practical, systematic, and comprehensive framework for use in clinical practice. Moreover, we introduce a conceptual framework of RI to evaluate the interrelationship of the Macro, Micro, and cell. The RI is divided into four types (Type 1: Macro-Micro incoherence + impaired cell;Type 2: Macro-Micro incoherence + normal cell;Type 3: Micro-Cell incoherence + normal Micro;and Type 4: both Macro-Micro and Micro-cell incoherence). Furthermore, we propose the concept of dynamic circulation-perfusion coupling to evaluate the relationship of circulation and tissue perfusion during circulatory shock. Conclusions: The concept of RI and dynamic circulation-perfusion coupling should be considered in the management of circulatory shock. Osbeck 'Newhall')juice显示文摘The present study investigates the chemical composition and antioxidant capacity of juice from the Gannan navel orange, which is harvested at one-to two-week intervals during the ripening period. The total soluble solid(TSS), total polyphenol content(TPC), total flavonoid content(TFC), sucrose and hesperidin contents gradually increase with the ripening of the fruit, followed by slight declines at the late maturity stage. Contrary to these observations, the contents of titratable acid(TA), vitamin C(Vc), and limonin trend downward throughout the ripening period. However, the contents of fructose, glucose, and narirutin fluctuate throughout the harvest time. Three in vitro antioxidant assays consistently indicate that the harvest time exerts no significant influence(P>0.01) on the antioxidant capacity. Furthermore, principal component analysis(PCA) and Pearson’s correlation test are performed to provide an overview of the complete dataset.This study provides valuable information for evaluating the fruit quality and determining when to harvest the fruit in order to meet the preferences of consumers. Here, we determine the one-photon linear absorption cross section of two kinds of blue-emitting perovskite NCs, i.e., CsPbCl_3 and CsPb(Cl_(0.53)Br_(0.47))_3, by utilizing femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy. The wavelength-dependent nonlinear refraction and two-photon absorption have been measured at wavelengths from 620 to 720 nm by performing Z-scan measurements. | 12 | Identification of a new stripe rust resistance gene in Chinese winter wheat Zhongmai 175显示文摘Stripe rust is a serious foliar disease posing a grave threat to wheat production worldwide. The most economical and environmentally friendly way to control this disease is to breed and deploy resistant cultivars. Zhongmai 175 is an elite winter wheat cultivar conferring resistance to a broad spectrum of Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici(Pst) races. To identify the resistance gene in the cultivar, genetic analysis was conducted using the parents, F1, F2 and F2:3 populations derived from the cross of Lunxuan 987/Zhongmai 175. Segregations in the F2 and F2:3 populations indicated a single dominant gene conferring resistance to stripe rust in Zhongmai 175, temporarily designated Yr ZM175. Bulked segregant analysis(BSA) with wheat i Select 90 K SNP array determined a preliminary location of Yr ZM175. Subsequently, Yr ZM175 was mapped on chromosome 2AS using simple sequence repeats(SSR), expressed sequence tags(EST) and newly-developed kompetitive allele specific PCR(KASP) markers, being flanked by Xgwm636 and Xwmc382 at genetic distances of 4.9 and 8.1 c M, respectively. Comparison of reaction patterns of Yr ZM175 on 23 Pst races or isolates and pedigree analysis with other genes on chromosome 2AS suggested that it is likely to be a new gene for resistance to stripe rust. | 13 | A male-ABCD algorithm for hepatocellular carcinoma risk prediction in HBs Ag carriers显示文摘Objective: Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) development among hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag) carriers shows gender disparity, influenced by underlying liver diseases that display variations in laboratory tests. We aimed to construct a risk-stratified HCC prediction model for HBs Ag-positive male adults.Methods: HBs Ag-positive males of 35-69 years old(N=6,153) were included from a multi-center populationbased liver cancer screening study. Randomly, three centers were set as training, the other three centers as validation. Within 2 years since initiation, we administrated at least two rounds of HCC screening using Bultrasonography and α-fetoprotein(AFP). We used logistic regression models to determine potential risk factors,built and examined the operating characteristics of a point-based algorithm for HCC risk prediction.Results: With 2 years of follow-up, 302 HCC cases were diagnosed. A male-ABCD algorithm was constructed including participant's age, blood levels of GGT(γ-glutamyl-transpeptidase), counts of platelets, white cells,concentration of DCP(des-γ-carboxy-prothrombin) and AFP, with scores ranging from 0 to 18.3. The area under receiver operating characteristic was 0.91(0.90-0.93), larger than existing models. At 1.5 points of risk score,26.10% of the participants in training cohort and 14.94% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk, with sensitivity of identifying HCC remained 100%. At 2.5 points, 46.51% of the participants in training cohort and 33.68% in validation cohort were recognized at low risk with 99.06% and 97.78% of sensitivity, respectively. However, its applications are seriously limited by the weak conductivity and large volume change, which results in low reversible capacity and poor cycling stability.Herein, reduced graphene oxide-wrapped FeS_2(FeS_2/rGO)composite was fabricated to achieve excellent electrochemical performance via a facile two-step method. The introduction of rGO effectively improved the conductivity,BET surface area, and structural stability of the FeS_2 active material, thus endowing it with high specific capacity, good rate capability, as well as excellent cycling stability. Electrochemical measurements show that the FeS_2/rGO composite had a high initial discharge capacity of 1263.2 mAh gg^(-1) at 100 mA gg^(-1) and a high discharge capacity of 344 mAh gg^(-1) at 10 A gg^(-1), demonstrating superior rate performance.
