1Genetic diversity of rice cultivars (Oryza sativa L.) in China and the temporal trends in recent fifty years显示文摘To understand geographical distribution of the genetic diversity of rice cultivars {Oryza sativa L.) and its trends in recent fifty years in China, 453 ’ accessions were analyzed by 36 microsatellites loci and 42 phenotypic traits. Results revealed that the genetic diversity by SSRs is highly consistent with that by phenotypic traits and the genetic diversity of indica cultivars was higher than that of japonica cultivars; the genetic diversity of cultivars declined from 1950s to 1980s and then increased greatly; among the six rice ecological zones (REZs), genetic diversity of REZTl was the highest and those of REZV and REZVT were the lowest at both DNA and phenotypic level. Jiangsu and Jiangxi provinces in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River and Sichuan province in southwest of China were the areas with the highest genetic diversity. 2Natural Variation in CCD4 Promoter Underpins Species-Specific Evolution of Red Coloration in Citrus Peel显示文摘Carotenoids and apocarotenoids act as phytohormones and volatile precursors that influence plant development and confer aesthetic and nutritional value critical to consumer preference.Citrus fruits display considerable natural variation in carotenoid and apocarotenoid pigments.In this study,using an integrated genetic approach we revealed that a 5;c/s-regulatory change at CCD4b encoding CAROTENOID CLEAVAGE DIOXYGENASE 4b is a major genetic determinant of natural variation in C3 0 apocarotenoids responsible for red coloration of citrus peel.Functional analyses demonstrated that in addition the known role in synthesizing 3-citraurin,CCD4b is also responsible for the production of another important C3 0 apocarotenoid pigment,p-citraurinene.Furthermore,analyses of the CCD4b promoter and transcripts from various citrus germplasm accessions established a tight correlation between the presence of a putative 5'c/s-regulatory enhancer within an MITE transposon and the enhanced allelic expression of CCD4b in C3 0 apocarotenoid-rich red-peeled accessions.Phylogenetic analysis provided further evidence that functional diversification of CCD4b and naturally occurring variation of the CCD4b promoter resulted in the stepwise evolution of red peels in mandarins and their hybrids.Taken together,our findings provide new insights into the genetic and evolutionary basis of apocarotenoid diversity in plants,and would facilitate breeding efforts that aim to improve the nutritional and aesthetic value of citrus and perhaps other fruit crops.Xiongjie Zheng Kaijie Zhu Quan Sun Weiyi Zhang Xia Wang Hongbo Cao Meilian Tan Zongzhou Xie Yunliu Zeng Junli Ye Lijun Chai Qiang Xu Zhiyong Pan Shunyuan Xiao Paul D.Fraser Xiuxin Deng 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,9:18

4Differential effects of controlled hypotension on gastric intramucosal pH and post-operational gastrointestinal functional under two different anesthesia methods显示文摘Objective:To observe the effects of controlled hypotension on gastric intramucosal pH and post-operational gastrointestinal functions using two specific anesthesia methods.Methods:Thirty patients(ASAⅡ)scheduled for ectomy of hepatocarcinoma,were randomly assigned to two groups:epidural block combined with intravenous anesthesia group(E group)and inhalation anesthesia group(G group).Gastric PgCO2 and pHi were monitored at different time points,before theintravenous induction of controlled hypotension,after 1 h and2 h,and 1 h after the termination of controlled hypotension.In the meanwhile,the artery blood gas was analyzed.Results:There was no significant difference in blood gas indexes between E group and G group.However,pHi decreased significantly after 1 h and 2 h of controlled hypotension(P <0.05),and during the same periods PgCO2 increased significantly(P <0.05 or P <0.01),the time of bowelm ovement and defecating deferred significantly shorter in G group patients,when compared with E group patients.Conclusion:Epidural block in combination with general anesthesia can improve gastrointestinal blood flow during controlled hypotension and facilitates post-operational recovery of gastrointestinal functions.Guanglei Wang Junli Cao Gongjian Liu 2008Journal of Nanjing Medical University2008,22,1:7
5Genetic structure and diversity of Oryza sativa L. in Guizhou,China显示文摘Preserving many kinds of rice resources and rich variations, Guizhou Province is one of the districts with the highest genetic diversity of cultivated rice (Oryza sativa L.) in China. In the current research, genetic diversity and structure of 537 accessions of cultivated rice from Guizhou were studied using 36 microsatellite markers and 39 phenotypic characters. The results showed that the model-based genetic structure was the same as genetic-distance-based one using SSRs but somewhat different from the documented classification (mainly based on phenotype) of two subspecies. The accessions being classified into indica by phenotype but japonica by genetic structure were much more than that being classified into japonica by phenotype but indica by genetic structure. Like Ding Ying’s taxonomic sys- tem of cultivated rice, the subspecific differentiation was the most distinct differentiation within culti- vated rice. But the differentiation within indica or japonica population was different: japonica presented clearer differentiation between soil-watery ecotypes than indica, and indica presented clearer differen- tiation between seasonal ecotypes than japonica. Cultivated rices in Guizhou revealed high genetic diversity at both DNA and phenotypic levels. 6Effect of Nitrogen Fertilizer on the Accumulation and Distribution of Dry Matter in Broomcorn Millet显示文摘[Objective] To understand the effect of nitrogen application on dry matter accumulation and allocation dynamics in broomcorn millet. [Method] The accumulation and distribution of dry matter were studied using cultivars Jin Shu 7 and Huang Mizi at different levels of nitrogen fertilizer at the jointing stage. [Result] The results showed that increasing N application led to the increase of green leaf area and the delay of leaf senescence, which was beneficial to the accumulation of dry matter.Appropriate nitrogen application(90 kg/hm2) could coordinate the translocation rate of dry matter among different plant parts, thereby enhancing the yield of broomcorn millet; among different organs, the contribution rate of stem to kernel was greater than that of leaf to kernel; there was obvious correlation between dry matter and yield. For Jin Shu 7, leaf area and dry weight of spike showed significant negative correlation with yield. 8Effects of tide-surge interactions on storm surges along the coast of the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, and East China Sea显示文摘A two-dimensional coupled tide-surge model was used to investigate the effects of tide-surge interactions on storm surges along the coast of the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, and East China Sea. In order to estimate the impacts of tide-surge interactions on storm surge elevations, Typhoon 7203 was assumed to arrive at 12 different times, with all other conditions remaining constant. This allowed simulation of tide and total water levels for 12 separate cases. Numerical simulation results for Yingkou, Huludao, Shijiusuo, and Lianyungang tidal stations were analyzed. Model results showed wide variations in storm surge elevations across the 12 cases. The largest difference between 12 extreme storm surge elevation values was of up to 58 cm and occurred at Yingkou tidal station. The results indicate that the effects of tide-surge interactions on storm surge elevations are very significant. 9Structural variation and parallel evolution of apomixis in citrus during domestication and diversification显示文摘Apomixis,or asexual seed formation,is prevalent in Citrinae via a mechanism termed nucellar or adventitious embryony.Here,multiple embryos of a maternal genotype form directly from nucellar cells in the ovule and can outcompete the developing zygotic embryo as they utilize the sexually derived endosperm for growth.Whilst nucellar embryony enables the propagation of clonal plants of maternal genetic constitution,it is also a barrier to effective breeding through hybridization.To address the genetics and evolution of apomixis in Citrinae,a chromosome-level genome of the Hongkong kumquat(Fortunella hindsii)was assembled following a genome-wide variation map including structural variants(SVs)based on 234 Citrinae accessions.This map revealed that hybrid citrus cultivars shelter genome-wide deleterious mutations and SVs into heterozygous states free from recessive selection,which may explain the capability of nucellar embryony in most cultivars during Citrinae diversification.Analyses revealed that parallel evolution may explain the repeated origin of apomixis in different genera of Citrinae.Within Fortunella,we found that apomixis of some varieties originated via introgression.In apomictic Fortunella,the locus associated with apomixis contains the FhRWP gene,encoding an RWP-RK domain-containing protein previously shown to be required for nucellar embryogenesis in Citrus.We found the heterozygous SV in the FhRWP and CitRWP promoters from apomictic Citrus and Fortunella,due to either two or three miniature inverted transposon element(MITE)insertions.A transcription factor,FhARID,encoding an AT-rich interaction domain-containing protein binds to the MITEs in the promoter of apomictic varieties,which facilitates induction of nucellar embryogenesis.This study provides evolutionary genomic and molecular insights into apomixis in Citrinae and has potential ramifications for citrus breeding.Nan Wang Xietian Song Junli Ye Siqi Zhang Zhen Cao Chenqiao Zhu Jianbing Hu Yin Zhou Yue Huang Shuo Cao Zhongjie Liu Xiaomeng Wu Lijun Chai Wenwu Guo Qiang Xu Brandon S.Gaut Anna M.G.Koltunow Yongfeng Zhou Xiuxin Deng 2022National Science Review2022,9,10:1

11Genetic Architecture and Functional Implications of the CSF‑Contacting Nucleus显示文摘We previously identified a unique nucleus,the cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)-contacting nucleus.This study aims to understand its gene architecture and preliminarily suggest its functions.The results showed that there were about 19,666 genes in this nucleus,of which 913 were distinct from the dorsal raphe nucleus(non-CSF contacting).The top 40 highly-expressed genes are mainly related to energy metabolism,protein synthesis,transport,secretion,and hydrolysis.The main neurotransmitter is 5-HT.The receptors of 5-HT and GABA are abundant.The channels for Cl–,Na+,K+,and Ca2+are routinely expressed.The signaling molecules associated with the CaMK,JAK,and MAPK pathways were identified accurately.In particular,the channels of transient receptor potential associated with nociceptors and the solute carrier superfamily members associated with cell membrane transport were significantly expressed.The relationship between the main genes of the nucleus and life activities is preliminarily verified.Siyuan Song Yumin Yuan Lingling Xu Jun Jiang Ying Li Yao Yan Qing Li Fang Zhou Junli Cao Licai Zhang 2023Neuroscience Bulletin2023,39,11:1
12Aging Resistance Evaluation of Aged Paper Reinforced with Different Nanocelluloses显示文摘Paper documents experience severe acidification and embrittlement.Nanocellulose is an excellent reinforcement material for paper documents owing to its compatibility and excellent mechanical strength.However,little research has been conducted on the aging resistance of nanocellulose-reinforced paper.In this study,six types of nanocelluloses were used to reinforce aged paper.The reinforcement and anti-aging performances were evaluated,and the anti-aging mechanism was further clarified.Nanocellulose with a high degree of polymerization can better enhance aged paper,and non-chemical nanocellulose also shows better anti-aging performance,such as nanocellulose prepared by mechanical or biological methods.However,nanocellulose prepared using chemical methods exhibits poor reinforcement and anti-aging performance.This is because it has a small particle size that is not beneficial for physical crosslinking with paper fibers.More importantly,the introduction of acidic or oxidizing groups on nanocellulose accelerates the acid hydrolysis and oxidation rate of paper fibers,especially nanocellulose prepared by 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl oxidation,which should not be used to protect paper documents.Xian Cao Bei He Jianlin Wang Chunhui Zhang Donglin Tang Qingyou Liang Chuanfu Liu Huiming Fan Junli Ren 2023Paper And Biomaterials2023,8,3:0
13Robust,flame-retardant and colorful superamphiphobic aramid fabrics for extreme conditions显示文摘High-performance superamphiphobic fabrics are very useful in special fields,such as firefighting,rescue,and polar sports.The complicated preparation process,easily damaged surface structure,and high cost drastically limit their commercial application.In this work,we utilized a simple,low-cost superamphiphobic coating to prepare a superamphiphobic aramid fabric(SAF).The excellent repellency to acid/alkali solutions and low boiling point organic solvents has been demonstrated with the contact angle of>150°and>130°,respectively.Additionally,the original color of the fabric can also be maintained,accompanied by superior flame retardancy,strength and comfort with thermal degradation of 361℃.More importantly,SAF displayed excellent durability via 50 standard machine washes,100-min of ultrasonic washing,10-min of UV irradiation,120-min of high-temperature heating,5000 cycles of abrasion,and destructive abrasion by sharp metal.All the results showed the superior performance of our SAF in protective fabrics under extreme environmental conditions.LIU Xiang CHEN JunLi SHAO QingQing CAO JiQiang DU ZhaoQun LIU HongLing YU WeiDong 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,8:0
