2Drag models for simulating gas–solid flow in the turbulent fluidization of FCC particles显示文摘This paper examines the suitability of various drag models for predicting the hydrodynamics of the turbulent fluidization of FCC particles on the Fluent V6.2 platform.The drag models included those of Syamlal–O’Brien,Gidaspow,modified Syamlal–O’Brien,and McKeen.Comparison between experimental data and simulated results showed that the Syamlal–O’Brien,Gidaspow,and modified Syamlal–O’Brien drag models highly overestimated gas–solid momentum exchange and could not predict the formation of dense phase in the fluidized bed,while the McKeen drag model could not capture the dilute charac- teristics due to underestimation of drag force.The standard Gidaspow drag model was then modified by adopting the effective particle cluster diameter to account for particle clusters,which was,however, proved inapplicable for FCC particle turbulent fluidization.A four-zone drag model(dense phase,subdense phase,sub-dilute phase and dilute phase)was finally proposed to calculate the gas–solid exchange coefficient in the turbulent fluidization of FCC particles,and was validated by satisfactory agreement between prediction and experiment.Peng Li Xingying Lan Chunming Xu Gang Wang Chunxi Lu Jinsen Gao 2009Particuology2009,7,4:13
3Effect of static bed height in the upper fluidized bed on flow behavior in the lower riser section of a coupled reactor显示文摘To study olefin reduction by using an auxiliary reactor for FCC naphtha upgrading, a large-scale cold model of a riser-bed coupled to an upper fluidized bed was established. The effect of static bed height in the upper fluidized bed on particle flow behavior in the lower riser was investigated experimentally. A restriction index of solids holdup was used to evaluate quantitatively the restrictive effect of the upper fluidized bed. Experimental results show that, under the restrictive effect of the upper fluidized bed, the riser could be divided into three regions in the longitudinal direction: accelerating, fully developed and restriction. The axial distribution of solids holdup in the riser is characterized by large solids holdup in the top and bottom sections and small solids holdup in the middle section. Overall solids holdup increased with increasing static bed height in the upper fluidized bed, while particle velocity decreased. Such restrictive effect of the upper fluidized bed could extend from the middle and top sections to the whole riser volume when riser outlet resistance is increased, which increases with increasing static bed height in the upper fluidized bed. 4Experimental and computational studies on flow behavior of gas-solid fluidized bed with disparately sized binary particles显示文摘This paper presents experimental and computational studies on the flow behavior of a gas-solid fluidized bed with disparately sized binary particle mixtures.The mixing/segregation behavior and segregation efficiency of the small and large particles are investigated experimentally.Particle composition and operating conditions that influence the fluidization behavior of mixing/segregation are examined.Based on the granular kinetics theory,a multi-fluid CFD model has been developed and verified against the experimental results.The simulation results are in reasonable agreement with experimental data.The results showed that the smaller particles are found near the bed surface while the larger particles tend to settle down to the bed bottom in turbulent fluidized bed.However,complete segregation of the binary particles does not occur in the gas velocity range of 0.695-0.904 m/s.Segregation efficiency increases with increasing gas velocity and mean residence time of the binary particles,but decreases with increasing the small particle concentration.The calculated results also show that the small particles move downward in the wall region and upward in the core.Due to the effect of large particles on the movement of small particles,the small particles present a more turbulent velocity profile in the dense phase than that in the dilute phase.Jinsen Gao Jian Chang Chunxi Lu Chunming Xu 2008Particuology2008,6,2:7
5Alkynyl carbon materials as novel and efficient sorbents for the adsorption of mercury(Ⅱ) from wastewater显示文摘For the first time, a series of alkynyl carbon materials(ACMs) were prepared via the mechanochemical reaction of CaC_2 with six polyhalogenated precursors, namely CCl_4,C_2Cl_6, C_2Cl_4, C_6Cl_6, C_6Br_6, and C_(14)H_4Br_(10)(ACM-1, ACM-2, ACM-3, ACM-4, ACM-5, and ACM-6,respectively) and used for the adsorptive removal of mercury from aqueous solutions.Based on preliminary investigations, the adsorption of mercury on ACM-5 was studied in depth. Specifically, the effect of p H on mercury adsorptivity, adsorption kinetics,thermodynamics, isotherms, and recyclability was studied. The adsorptivity of mercury on ACMs was found to be closely related to the hydrocarbon precursor, specific surface area of sorbent, and the alkynyl content. ACM-5 showed the best performance and is among the best raw carbonaceous sorbents reported so far, with a Langmuir saturated adsorption capacity of 191.9 mg g^(-1). The promising mercury adsorption performance mainly arises from the strong Lewis soft acid–soft base interactions between the alkynyl groups and mercury ions. The adsorption isotherms could be satisfactorily correlated with the Langmuir equation. 6Hydrodynamics and Mass Transfer in a Modified Three-phase Airlift Loop Reactor显示文摘A modified internal-loop airlift reactor (MIALR) with a continuous slurry phase was studied to investigate the local hydrodynamic characteristics, including gas holdup, bubble size, bubble rise velocity and local mass transfer properties. Based on the analysis of geometrical construction and fluid properties of gas and slurry, MIALR was divided into six flow regions. In these flow regions, the local hydrodynamic characteristics were investigated over a wide range of operating variables. Furthermore, a new method was developed to measure the dissolved oxygen concentration. 7Post-riser Regeneration Technology in FCC Unit显示文摘In our present work, a post-riser regeneration technology (PRRT) for fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) units was developed to deal with increasingly heavier feedstock and hereby the larger amount of coke deposited on the catalyst particles during reaction. This technology can make full use of the advantages of riser regenerator, such as high coke-burning efficiency and low residual carbon, and at the same time overcome its disadvantages, such as difficulty in starting combustion. The average particles concentration on the cross section of the system was studied on a large scale cold model experimental set-up. Also a necessary software was developed by combining the hydrodynamics research results in our work with the coke-burning kinetics model and the heat and mass transfer model developed by previous researchers. 8Optimal reaction conditions for pyridine synthesis in riser reactor显示文摘Pyridine has been generally synthesized by aldehydes and ammonia in a turbulent fluidized-bed reactor. In this paper, a novel riser reactor was proposed for pyridine synthesis. Experiment result showed that the yield of pyridine and 3-picoline decreased, but the selectivity of pyridine over 3-picoline increased compared to turbulent fluidized-bed reactor. Based on experimental data, a modified kinetic model was used for the determination of optimal operating condition for riser reactor. 9Effect of extracellular signal-regulated kinase and nitric oxide on compressive neuralgia formation and maintenance显示文摘BACKGROUND:Previous studies have shown that extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2(ERK1/2) and nitric oxide activation play a pivotal role in central sensitization and long-term neuronal plasticity induced by noxious stimulation.However,their effects on compressive neuralg formation and maintenance remain poorly understood.OBJECTIVE:To investigate effects of the specific inhibitor of ERK1/2 signal pathway U0126 on neuronal nitric oxide synthase(nNOS) expression in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord in a compressive neuralgia rat model.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A randomized,controlled experiment was performed at the Institu of Otolaryngology,Head and Neck Surgery,First Hospital of Jilin University from July 2008 to Marc 2009.MATERIALS:U0126(Bio-Mol,USA) was used in this study.METHODS:A total of 84 rats were randomly assigned to two groups.In the first part of the experiment,24 rats were used for behavioral testing,and they were randomly assigned to three sub-groups(n = 8):U0126,dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO) and model control.In the second part of th experiment,60 rats were used for immunofluorescence and Western blot analysis,and they were randomly assigned to six sub-groups(n = 10):sham surgery,model control,U0126 post-injection 0.5,2,12 and 24 hours.Neuropathic pain was produced by chronic compression to the dorsal roo ganglion in rats from each sub-group.Rats in the U0126 group were administered a 5-μg U0126 intrathecal injection,and rats in the DMSO group were administered a 10-μL 5% DMSO intratheca injection.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Changes in mechanical and thermal hyperalgesia were observed using von Frey filaments and thermalqia stimular.Thermal and mechanical hyperalgesia were stimulated at different time points following intrathecal injection of U0126.nNOS activation and expression in the spinal cord dorsal horn were determined by immunofluorescence and Western blot analysis.RESULTS:Intrathecal injection of U0126 significantly attenuated chronic compression of dorsal root ganglion-induced mechanical and thermal hyperalgesia.Immunofluorescence staining results demonstrated that,compared to the sham surgery group,the number of nNOS-positive neurons was significantly increased in the injured spinal dorsal horn in the model control group(P < 0.01).However,compared to the model control group,there were significantly decreasing numbers of nNOS-positive neurons in the U0126 post-injection groups at 0.5-hour,2-hour,and 12-hour(P < 0.05).Western blot analysis revealed similar results.CONCLUSION:Decreased activity in the ERK signal pathway resulted in down regulated nNOS expression in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord.These results suggested that ERK is involved in nitric oxide reaction to neuropathic pain.Tongwei Yang Xuesong Song Ping Wang Chunxi Wang Baoshun Lu 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,10:3
10Self-alignment of full skewed RSINS: observability analysis and full-observable Kalman filter显示文摘Traditional orthogonal strapdown inertial navigation system(SINS) cannot achieve satisfactory selfalignment accuracy in the stationary base: taking more than 5 minutes and all the inertial sensors biases cannot get full observability except the upaxis accelerometer. However, the full skewed redundant SINS(RSINS) can not only enhance the reliability of the system, but also improve the accuracy of the system, such as the initial alignment. Firstly, the observability of the system state includes attitude errors and all the inertial sensors biases are analyzed with the global perspective method: any three gyroscopes and three accelerometers can be assembled into an independent subordinate SINS(subSINS); the system state can be uniquely confirmed by the coupling connections of all the subSINSs; the attitude errors and random constant biases of all the inertial sensors are observable. However, the random noises of the inertial sensors are not taken into account in the above analyzing process. Secondly, the fullobservable Kalman filter which can be applied to the actual RSINS containing random noises is established; the system state includes the position, velocity, attitude errors of all the subSINSs and the random constant biases of the redundant inertial sensors. At last, the initial selfalignment process of a typical fourredundancy full skewed RSINS is simulated: the horizontal attitudes(pitch, roll) errors and yaw error can be exactly evaluated within 80 s and 100 s respectively, while the random constant biases of gyroscopes and accelerometers can be precisely evaluated within 120 s. 11Experiments and simulations of gas-solid flow in an airlift loop reactor显示文摘The hydrodynamics in a gas-solid airlift loop reactor was investigated systematically using experimental measurements and CFD simulation.In the experiments,the time averaged parameters,such as solid fraction and particle velocity,were measured by optical fiber probe.In the simulation,the modified Gidaspow drag model accounting for the interparticles clustering was incorporated into the Eulerian-Eulerian CFD model with particulate-phase kinetic theory.Predicted values of solid fraction and particle velocity were compared with experimental results,validating the drag model and the simulation.The results show that the profiles of particle velocity and solid fraction are uniform in annulus.However,the core-annulus structure appears in other three regions (draft tube region,bottom region and particle diffluence region),which presents the similar heterogeneous feature of aggregative fluidization usually occurred in normal fluidized beds.Simulated profiles of particle residence time distribution indicate that the airlift loop reactor should be characterized by near perfect mixing.Chaoyu Yan Chunxi Lu Yiping Fan Rui Cao Yansheng Liu 2011Particuology2011,9,2:2
12Experimental study on filtration performance of the moving bed granular filter with axial flow显示文摘The filtration performance of the moving bed granular filter with axial flow (MBGF-AF) is investigated through a large cold experiment. The effect of different operation parameters on the filtration performance (collection efficiency, pressure drop) of the axial-flow moving bed filter is investigated in combination with the dust deposition effect and the mechanism of trapping dust by the capturing particles. The results show that the collection efficiency of MBGF-AF is enhanced by decreasing the superficial gas velocity, increasing the inlet dust concentration properly, or decreasing the moving velocity of the capturing particles. A model covering the above operation parameters is established to calculate the collection efficiency of the moving bed granular filter. 14Flow hydrodynamics in a gas–solid fluidized bed reactor with two reaction zones显示文摘A novel reactor with two reaction zones is proposed for pyridine synthesis.The flow hydrodynamics were investigated in experiments.Pressure taps and a PV-6D optical fiber were used to measure the pressure fluctuation and particle concentration,respectively.Hilbert–Huang analysis was adopted to distinguish the flow patterns through pressure fluctuation.Results show that the flow patterns are bubbling fluidization and fast fluidization in the regions below(reaction zone I)and above(reaction zone II)the nozzles,respectively.The radial distribution of the cluster time fraction was obtained through signal waves of the particle concentration.Analysis of the cluster time fraction revealed two radial distributions.In the region around the nozzles,the cluster time fraction ranged from 0 to 0.2 and concentrated at radial positions r/R=0–1,which resulted from unsymmetrical catalyst feeding.In reaction zone II,the cluster time fraction ranged from 0 to 0.2,and the radial distribution indicated a core–annulus structure.Shuaishuai Zhou Chunxi Lu Mengxi Liu 2019Particuology2019,17,6:1
15Spongy acetylenic carbon material prepared by ball milling CaC2 and chlorinated rubber—Its mercury adsorption and electrochemical property显示文摘Design and preparation of novel advanced carbon materials with unique architecture and functional groups is of great significance.Herein,a spongy acetylenic carbon material(SACM) was prepared through mechanochemical reaction of CaC2 and chlorinated rubber in a planetary ball mill at ambient temperature.Its composition and structure were characterized,and its electrochemical properties and adsorption performance for Hg^2+ were studied.The SACM is composed of submicron spongy aggregates with high carbon content(81.8%) and specific area(503.9 m^2·g^-1),rich porosity and acetylenic groups.The SACM exhibits excellent adsorption for Hg2+with saturated adsorption amount being 157.1 mg·g^-1,which is superior to conventional carbon materials.Further,it exhibits good electrochemical performance with low equivalent series resistance(0.50 Ω),excellent cycling stability and ideal double layer capacitive behavior.This paper provides a novel and universal synthesis method of spongy carbon materials,and better results can be expected through tuning the pore structure,graphitization degree,and heteroatoms of the target carbon materials.Xuebing Xu Wenfeng Li Luyan Xia Yingzhou Lu Hong Meng Chunxi Li 2019Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,8:1

17Constraint strength and axial/radial particle velocity profiles for an integrated riser outlet显示文摘To study axial/radial profiles of particle velocity in the affected region of an integrated riser outlet,a cold model was developed for the integrated riser reactor combining the gas-solid distributor with the fluidized bed.Constraints,related to the gas-solid distributor and the upper fluidized bed,imposed on the particle flow in the riser outlet region,were investigated experimentally.The experimental results showed that with increasing superficial gas velocity,these constraints have strong influences on particle flow behavior,the particle circulation flux in the riser,and the height of the static bed material of the upper fluidized bed.When the constraints have greater prominence,the axial profile of the cross-sectionally averaged particle velocity in the outlet region initially increases and then decreases,the rate of decrease being proportional to the constraint strength.Along the radial direction of the outlet section,the region where the local particle velocity profile tends to decrease appears near the dimensionless radius r/R = 0.30 initially and then,with increasing constraint strength,gradually extends to the whole section from the inner wall.Based on the experimental data,an empirical model describing the constraint strength was established.The average relative error of the model is within 7.69%.Dewu Wang Chaoyu Yan Chunxi Lu Rui Li Bin Zhao Shaofeng Zhang 2015Particuology2015,13,4:1

19Intracellular distribution and internalization pathways of guanidinylated bioresponsive poly(amido amine)s in gene delivery显示文摘Guanidinylated bioresponsive poly(amido amine)s polymers, CAR-CBA and CHL-CBA, weresynthesized by Michael-type addition reaction between guanidine hydrochloride(CAR) orchlorhexidine(CHL) and N,N-cystaminebisacrylamide(CBA). Previous studies have shownthat both polymers had high transfection efficiencies as gene delivery carriers. In this study,we investigated the nucleolus localization abilities and cellular internalization pathways ofthese two polymers in gene delivery. Each polymer condensed plasmid DNA(p DNA) andformed nanoparticle complexes, and then their transfection studies were performed inMCF-7 cells. Both complexes were found enriched in nucleolus after cellular transfection,and their transfection efficiencies were significantly improved when transfection was per-formed on MCF-7 cells arrested at M phase. The transfection efficiency of CAR-CBA-pDNAwas inhibited by chlorpromazine, and cell endosomes were disrupted after being exposedto CAR-CBA-pDNA. In regards to CHL-CBA-pDNA, its transfection efficiency was not affected by three types of endocytosis inhibitors used in the study, and CHL-CBA-pDNA showed no effect on endosomes. Cellular lactate dehydrogenase release and membrane morphology were changed after cells were transfected by the two complexes. The results indicated that both CAR-CBA and CHL-CBA polymers demonstrated good nucleolus localization abilities. It was beneficial for transfection when cells were arrested at M phase.
