| 1 | A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. | 4 | Biofilm Microenvironment-Responsive Nanotheranostics for Dual-Mode Imaging and Hypoxia-Relief-Enhanced Photodynamic Therapy of Bacterial Infections显示文摘The formation of bacterial biofilms closely associates with infectious diseases.Until now,precise diagnosis and effective treatment of bacterial biofilm infections are still in great need.Herein,a novel multifunctional theranostic nanoplatform based on MnO_(2)nanosheets(MnO_(2)NSs)has been designed to achieve pH-responsive dual-mode imaging and hypoxia-relief-enhanced antimicrobial photodynamic therapy(aPDT)of bacterial biofilm infections.In this study,MnO_(2)NSs were modified with bovine serum albumin(BSA)and polyethylene glycol(PEG)and then loaded with chlorin e_(6)(Ce_(6))as photosensitizer to form MnO_(2)-BSA/PEG-Ce_(6)nanosheets(MBP-Ce_(6)NSs).After being delivered into the bacterial biofilm-infected tissues,the MBP-Ce_(6)NSs could be decomposed in acidic biofilm microenvironment and release Ce_(6)with Mn^(2+),which subsequently activate both fluorescence(FL)and magnetic resonance(MR)signals for effective dual-mode FL/MR imaging of bacterial biofilm infections.Meanwhile,MnO_(2)could catalyze the decomposing of H2O_(2)in biofilm-infected tissues into O_(2)and relieve the hypoxic condition of biofilm,which significantly enhances the efficacy of aPDT.An in vitro study showed that MBP-Ce_(6)NSs could significantly reduce the number of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)in biofilms after 635nm laser irradiation.Guided by FL/MR imaging,MRSA biofilm-infected mice can be efficiently treated by MBP-Ce_(6)NSs-based aPDT.Overall,MBP-Ce_(6)NSs not only possess biofilm microenvironment-responsive dual-mode FL/MR imaging ability but also have significantly enhanced aPDT efficacy by relieving the hypoxia habitat of biofilm,which provides a promising theranostic nanoplatform for bacterial biofilm infections. | Weijun Xiu Siyu Gan Qirui Wen Qiu Qiu Sulai Dai Heng Dong Qiang Li Lihui Yuwen Lixing Weng Zhaogang Teng Yongbin Mou Lianhui Wang | 2020 | Research2020,,1: | 7 |
| 5 | Effect of Cooling Rate and Vanadium Content on the Microstructure and Hardness of Medium Carbon Forging Steel显示文摘This paper reports the effect of cooling rate on the microstructure and hardness of a kind of medium carbon steel microalloyed with two levels of V content(0.15%and 0.28%)after hot deformation by using single compression tests on a Gleeble-3800 thermal simulator.The results show that cooling rate has a significant effect on the microstructure and hardness of the tested steels.Both the fraction of pearlite and hardness increase with increasing cooling rate,whereas a further increase of the cooling rate above a critical value promotes the formation of acicular ferrite(AF),and thus leads to a decrease of hardness mainly owing to the decrease of pearlite fraction and replacing it by AF and the less effective precipitation strengthening.Increasing V content results in a significant increase of hardness,and this tendency enhances with increasing cooling rate until the formation of AF.Furthermore,increasing V content also significantly enhances the formation of AF structure at a lower cooling rate.The results also suggest that by controlling microstructure,especially the precipitation of fine V(C,N)particles through adjusting postforging cooling,the strengthening and gradient function in one hot-forging part could be obtained. | Weijun Hui Yongjian Zhang Chengwei Shao Silian Chen Xiaoli Zhao Han Dong | 2016 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2016,32,6: | 7 |

| 8 | Clinical and radiological features of medullary infarction caused by spontaneous vertebral artery dissection显示文摘Background and purpose Medullary infarction(MI)caused by spontaneous vertebral artery dissection(sVAD)is an important type of stroke.It is important to distinguish sVAD from other causes of stroke since the treatment strategies and prognosis were different between them.In this study,we aimed to explore the clinical and radiological features of MI in patients with acute MI caused by sVAD.Methods Patients with acute MI caused by sVAD and non-sVAD in a single tertiary hospital were enrolled from 2010 to 2020.Epidemiologic,clinical and image features were collected and analysed.MI lesions were categorised into three levels rostrocaudally and four arterial groups:anteromedial,anterolateral,lateral and posterior.Results A total of 128 patients with MI were enrolled with 47 cases of sVAD and 81 cases of non-sVAD.Patients with sVAD were younger than those with non-sVAD(med 44 years old vs 58 years old).The sVAD group was less likely to have hypertension(44.68%vs 67.90%;p=0.010)and diabetes(19.15%vs 45.69%;p=0.003),but more likely to have non-sudden onset(27.66%vs 9.87%,p=0.009),minor neck injury(19.15%vs 1.23%;p=0.001)and headache(46.81%vs 7.41%;p=0.000).Vertically,sVAD became more common in caudal medulla than in rostral medulla.Horizontally,the sVAD group was more likely to have lateral MI(91.48%vs 2.96%,p=0.000).In multivariable logistic regression analysis,age,non-sudden onset and headache were independently associated with sVAD with ORs of 0.935(95%CI 0.892 to 0.981,p=0.006),3.507(95%CI 1.060 to 11.599,p=0.040)and 5.426(95%CI 1.673 to 17.599,p=0.005).Conclusion sVAD was not uncommon in patients with MI,especially in patients with lateral MI.Young patients with headache and non-sudden onset should remind clinician the possibility of sVAD. | Chun Yu Zhu Zhu Siying Li Yi Xu Wei Yan Xiaocui Kang Yao Li Qiang Dong Weijun Tang Xiang Han | 2022 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,3: | 3 |

| 10 | High-cycle Fatigue Fracture Behavior of Ultrahigh Strength Steels显示文摘<正>The fatigue fracture behavior of four ultrahigh strength steels with different melting processes and therefore different inclusion sizes were studied by using a rotating bar two-point bending fatigue machine in the high-cycle regime up to 10~7 cycles of loading.The fracture surfaces were observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM).It was found that the size of inclusion has significant effect on the fatigue behavior. For AISI 4340 steel in which the inclusion size is smaller than 5.5μm,all the fatigue cracks except one did not initiated from inclusion but from specimen surface and conventional S-N curve exists.For 65Si2MnWE and Aermet 100 steels in which the average inclusion sizes are 12.2 and 14.9μm,respectively,fatigue cracks initiated from inclusions at lower stress amplitudes and stepwise S-N curves were observed.The S-N curve displays a continuous decline and fatigue failures originated from large oxide inclusion for 60Si2CrVA steel in which the average inclusion size is 44.4μm.In the case of internal inclusion-induced fractures at cycles beyond about 1×10~6 for 65Si2MnWE and 60Si2CrVA steels,inclusion was always found inside the fish-eye and a granular bright facet(GBF)was observed in the vicinity around the inclusion.The GBF sizes increase with increasing the number of cycles to failure N_f in the long-life regime.The values of stress intensity factor range at crack initiation site for the GBF are almost constant with N_f,and are almost equal to that for the surface inclusion and the internal inclusion at cycles lower than about 1×10~6.Neither fish-eye nor GBF was observed for Aermet 100 steel in the present study. | Weijun HUI Yihong NIE Han DONG Yuqing WENG Chunxu WANG | 2008 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2008,24,5: | 2 |

The proposed analytical model is validated by the commercial FEM tool—COMSOL. The comparison between the results of the proposed analytical formulas and COMSOL shows that the proposed formulas have very high accuracy with a maximum error of 0.1%.Based on the analytical model, the temperature performance of TSV is studied. | 16 | Novel evidence from Taxus fuana forests for niche-neutral process assembling community显示文摘Background:Understanding the mechanisms underlying community assembly is helpful for conservation and restoration of communities, particularly those that contain rare and endangered species like Taxus fuana, which are endemic to the Western Himalayas. The niche (limiting similarity) vs. neutral (randomness) assembly of the T.fuana forest community in Gyirong County, Tibet, China, was investigated. The net relatedness index (NRI) was calculated using a phylogenetic tree. The phylogenetic characteristics of the community and its relationships with environment were analyzed.Results:The value of the mean NRI at the community level was less than-1.96, indicating that the phylogenetic structure was overdispersed;whereas majority of the NRIs at the tree, shrub, and herb layers were within-1.96 to1.96, indicating random dispersion. Environmental factors accounted for 44.38%, 46.52%, 24.04%, and 14.07%of the variation at the community level, tree, shrub, and herb layer, respectively. The phylogenetic structure at the community level and tree layer were significantly influenced by both topographic and soil factors, while shrub and herb layers tended to be affected by a single environmental factor.Conclusions:Community assembly of the T. fuana forest was simultaneously affected by niche and neutral processes, and their variations were closely related to the environment. Neutral process dominated community assembly in the shrub and herb layers. However, the interaction of limiting similarity and randomness played a dominant role at the community level and tree layer;and contributed to maintenance of biodiversity stability. The synergy of multiple environmental factors had a more obvious influence on community assembly than individual environmental factors, especially at the community level.
