2Levels and distributions of polychlorinated biphenyls in sewage sludge of urban wastewater treatment plants显示文摘Concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) have been measured in sewage sludge samples from 8 urban wastewater treatment plants in Beijing, China. The PCB congeners were analyzed by isotope dilution high resolution gas chromatography/high resolution mass spectrometry method. The concentration of PCBs ranged from 65.6 to 157 ng/g dry weight (dw), with a mean value of 101 ng/g dw. The dioxin-like PCB WHO-TEQs (World Health Organization-Toxic Equivalents) of the sludge were lower than 1 pg /g dw. Consequently, all the concentrations of PCBs in sludge samples were below the upper limit for land application according to the Chinese legislation law for agriculture use. The PCB homologue profiles in sludge samples were dominated by tri-CBs and tetra- CBs. Similar distributions have been found in one of the Chinese PCB commercial products. The patterns of dioxin-like and indicator congeners observed in this study were quite similar in all samples. 3Genetic and biological characteristics of the globally circulating H5N8 avian influenza viruses and the protective efficacy offered by the poultry vaccine currently used in China显示文摘The H5N8 avian influenza viruses have been widely circulating in wild birds and are responsible for the loss of over 33 million domestic poultry in Europe, Russia, Middle East, and Asia since January 2020. To monitor the invasion and spread of the H5N8 virus in China, we performed active surveillance by analyzing 317 wild bird samples and swab samples collected from 41,172 poultry all over the country. We isolated 22 H5N8 viruses from wild birds and 14 H5N8 viruses from waterfowls. Genetic analysis indicated that the 36 viruses formed two different genotypes: one genotype viruses were widely detected from different wild birds and domestic waterfowls;the other genotype was isolated from a whopper swan. We further revealed the origin and spatiotemporal spread of these two distinct H5N8 virus genotypes in 2020 and 2021. Animal studies indicated that the H5N8 isolates are highly pathogenic to chickens, mildly pathogenic in ducks, but have distinct pathotypes in mice. Moreover, we found that vaccinated poultry in China could be completely protected against H5N8 virus challenge. 4Simultaneous regulation of cations and anions in an electrolyte for high-capacity, high-stability aqueous zinc–vanadium batteries显示文摘Safe,inexpensive aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)are regarded as promising energy storage devices.However,they still face issues,including dissolution and collapse of the cathode as well as H_(2)evolution and the growth of Zn dendrites on the Zn anode.Herein,we simultaneously regulate the cations and anions in the electrolyte for high-capacity,high-stability aqueous zinc–vanadium(Zn–V)batteries based on a bimetallic cation-doped Na_(0.33)K_(0.1)V_(2)O_(5)·nH_(2)O cathode.We demonstrate that Na^(+) cations suppress cathode dissolution and restrain Zn dendrite growth on the anode via an electrostatic shield effect.We also illustrate that ClO_(4)^(-) anions participate in energy storage at the cathode and are reduced to Cl^(-),generating a protective layer on the Zn anode surface and providing a stable interface to decrease Zn dendrites and H_(2)evolution during long-term cycling.When Na^(+) and ClO_(4)^(-) are introduced into an aqueous ZnSO_(4) electrolyte,a Zn/Zn symmetric cell shows durable and reversible Zn stripping/plating for 1500 h at a current density of 1 mA cm^(-2) and with an area capacity of 1 mAh cm^(-2).Zn/Na_(0.33)K_(0.1)V_(2)O_(5)·nH_(2)O full batteries exhibit a high capacity of 600 mAh g^(-1)at 0.1 A g^(-1) and long-term cycling performance for 5000 cycles,with a capacity of 200 mAh g^(-1) at 20 Ag^(-1).Ziqing Wang Miao Zhou Liping Qin Minghui Chen Zixian Chen Shan Guo Liangbing Wang Guozhao Fang Shuquan Liang 2022eScience2022,2,2:8
5Nonlinear dynamics of angle-ply composite laminated thin plate with third-order shear deformation显示文摘An asymptotic perturbation method is presented based on the Fourier expansion and temporal rescaling to investigate the nonlinear oscillations and chaotic dynamics of a simply supported angle-ply composite laminated rectangular thin plate with parametric and external excitations.According to the Reddy's third-order plate theory,the governing equations of motion for the angle-ply composite laminated rectangular thin plate are derived by using the Hamilton's principle.Then,the Galerkin procedure is applied to the partial differential governing equation to obtain a two-degrees-of-freedom nonlinear system including the quadratic and cubic nonlinear terms.Such equations are utilized to deal with the resonant case of 1:1 internal resonance and primary parametric resonance-1/2 subharmonic resonance.Furthermore,the stability analysis is given for the steady-state solutions of the averaged equation.Based on the averaged equation obtained by the asymptotic perturbation method,the phase portrait and power spectrum are used to analyze the multi-pulse chaotic motions of the angle-ply composite laminated rectangular thin plate.Under certain conditions the various chaotic motions of the angle-ply composite laminated rectangular thin plate are found.GUO Xiang Ying,ZHANG Wei & YAO MingHui College of Mechanical Engineering,Beijing University of Technology,Beijing 100124,China 2010Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,3:7
6Cycle stability of lithium/garnet/lithium cells with different intermediate layers显示文摘The garnet-type electrolytes such as Ta-doped Li_7La_3Zr_2O_(12)(LLZTO) have been viewed as the promising electrolytes for solid-state lithium batteries, but it exhibits problem of high interfacial resistance(1960 Ω·cm^2) and short circuit when being cycled in Li/LLZTO/Li cells at the current density above 0.5 mA·cm^(-2). Introduction of intermediate layers in between lithium and LLZTO is helpful for decreasing the interfacial resistance and suppressing the growth of lithium dendrites. In this work, three kinds of intermediate layers of Au, Nb and Si with the thickness of 100 nm were prepared. Although the interfacial resistance with the Au layer decreases from 1960 to 32 Ω·cm^2, the cells can only cycle for 0.67 h at 0.5 mA·cm^(-2), related to the Au peeled off from the LLZTO. The Nb layers lead to the initial interfacial resistance of 14 Ω·cm^2, while showing extension of cycle time to 50 h with the increase in interfacial resistance due to the formation of the resistive Li–Nb–O phase. 7Microstructure and composition evolution of a single-crystal superalloy caused by elements interdiffusion with an overlay NiCrAlY coating on oxidation显示文摘MCrAlY(M=Ni and/or Co)overlay coating is widely used as a protective coating against high temperature oxidation and corrosion.However,due to its big difference in chemical composition with the underlying superalloy,elements interdiffusion occurs inevitably.One of the direct results is the formation of interdiffusion zone(IDZ)and secondary reaction zone(SRZ)with a high density of fine topological closed-packed phases(TCPs),weakening dramatically the mechanical properties of the alloy substrate.It is by now the main problem of modern high-temperature metallic coatings,but there are still hardly any reports studying the formation,growth and transformation of IDZ and SRZ in deep,as well as the precipitation of TCPs.In this work,a typical NiCrAlY coating is deposited by arc ion plating on a single-crystal superalloy N5.Elements interdiffusion between them and its relationship on microstructure were clarified.Cr rather than Al from the coating diffuses into the alloy at high temperatures and segregates immediately beneath their interface,contributing largely to the formation of IDZ.Simultaneously,diffusion of Ni from the deep alloy to IDZ leads to the formation and continuous expansion of SRZ.Lanlan Yang Minghui Chen Jinlong Wang Yanxin Qiao Pingyi Guo Shenglong Zhu Fuhui Wang 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,10:7
8Study on the relative radiometric correction of CBERS satellite CCD image显示文摘The main payload on CBERS-01/02 of China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellite (CBERS) is a push-broom CCD camera with moderate spatial and radiant resolution. Because at lab the data for calibration at satellite assembly stage were unable to be collected, and also because the onboard calibrator after launch was in a different state from imaging, the calibration of CCD image got a series of difficulties involved. In practice, two methods are used in the processing on the ground station: One is extracting calibration data by statistics from the image itself, and the other is the method of histogram match. It was proved that the latter can calibrate the image much better, because it can remove the effect of unstable response of the camera largely and also can overcome the nonlinearity of the camera basically by using Look-Up Table (LUT) calculated from histogram statistics of different temporal images. Considering the problems of CBERS-01, a lot of calibration tests were done before the launch of CBERS-02, in which a set of lab coefficients for relative calibration was formulated after the data collection by using integration-hemisphere in the stage of satellite assembly test. During the on-orbit test, it was found that the calibration result from such coefficients was not satisfying, especially there being response difference between 3 detector arrays, which was attributed to the unstable dark currents of the CCD camera. This paper comes up with a statistic method to remove such response difference. 9Levels and distributions of polychlorinated naphthalenes in sewage sludge of urban wastewater treatment plants显示文摘Over seventy congeners of polychlorinated naphthalenes(PCNs) in sewage sludge of 8 urban waste-water treatment plants(WWTPs) in Beijing were analyzed by isotope dilution,and high resolution gas chromatography/high resolution mass spectrometry(HRGC/HRMS) method.The total PCN concentrations determined in the samples range from 1.48 to 28.21 ng/g dw(dry weight) with TEQ concentrations of 0.11―2.45 pg/g dw.These levels were lower than those found in other regions.DiCNs and TrCNs were the most dominant homologues of PCNs.The similar congener profiles in all the samples suggest the similarity in certain sources.Contamination from industrial input might be the most significant source of PCNs in the sludges in this study,and thermal processes such as waste incineration and coal combustion may be another source of the PCNs contamination.GUO Li ZHANG Bing XIAO Ke ZHANG QingHua ZHENG MingHui 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,4:5
10Structural insights into a high fidelity variant of SpCas9显示文摘The RNA-guided endonucleases of the CRISPR-Cas9 system, including the most w泊ely used Cas9 from Streptococcus pyogenes (SpCas9)z are becoming a robust genome editing tool in model organisms and hold immense promise for therapeutic applications. Many strategies have bee n employed to overcome the limitati ons caused by SpCas9zs off-target effects and its strin gent requirement for the protospacer adjacent motif (PAM) sequenee. However, the structural mechanisms underlying these strategies remain undefined. Here, we present crystal structure of a SpCas9 variant, xCas9 3.7 that has broad PAM compatibility and high DNA targeting specificity, in complex with a single-guide RNA and its double-stranded DNA targets. Structural comparison revealed that salt bridge-stabilized R1335 is critical for the stringent selection of PAM sequence by SpCas9. Unrestricted rotamerization of this residue by the E1219V mutation in xCas9 3.7 lessens the stringency for PAM recognition and allows SpCas9 to recognize multiple PAM sequences as further supported by biochemical data. Compared to those in wild-type (WT) SpCas9, REC2 and REC3 domains in xCas9 3.7 un dergo striki ng conformati onal changes, leadi ng to reduced con tact with DNA substrate. SpCas9 mutants en gineered to display less interaction with DNA and have conformationally more flexible REC2 and REC3 domains display enhanced specificity for DNA substrates in both biochemical and cellular assays. 12Microvascular pathological features and changes in related injury factors in a rat acute blood stasis model显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To examine the microvascular pathological characteristics and changes in related injury factors in a rat model of acute blood stasis.METHODS: A total of 75 Sprague-Dawley rats were divided randomly and equally into a control group and four experimental groups assessed at different times after the induction of stasis(0, 1, 3 or 6 h after stasis)(n = 15). The acute blood stasis model was established through rat tail-vein injection of high-molecular-weight dextran. After Electrocardiograph(ECG) detection at predetermined times(0,1, 3 and 6 h after induction of stasis), the rats were sacrificed and blood and cardiac samples were harvested for analysis. Hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining and transmission electron microscopy were used for histopathological detection; an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was used to detect thromboxane B2(TXB2) and 6-keto-prostaglandin F1α(6-Keto-PGF1α) concentrations; a real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR) reaction system was used to detect intercellular adhesion molecule1(ICAM-1) and vascular cell adhesion molecule1(VCAM-1) m RNA expression; western blotting was used to detect vascular endothelial cadherin(VE-cadherin) protein expression.RESULTS: The ST segment in the ECG showed gradual elevation after induction of stasis and continued elevation at a high level at 3 and 6 h. The HE staining showed changes in myocardial cell necrosis and tissue dissociation after the induction of stasis, along with inflammatory infiltration. Results of transmission electron microscopy showed immediate changes in blood stasis and lumen occlusion in the microvasculature, along with endothelial cell swelling. After the induction of stasis, TXB2 concentrations gradually increased while 6-Keto-PGF1αconcentrations were immediately significantly reduced. The TXB2/6-Keto-PGF1αratio was maintained at a high level. ICAM-1 m RNA expression showed an unstable elevation while VCAM-1 m RNA expression was significantly reduced after the induction of stasis. Compared with the control group, VE-cadherin protein expression increased at 0 and 3 h after the induction of stasis, while no change occurred at 1 and 6 h.CONCLUSION: The pathological manifestations of acute blood stasis are microvascular blood retention, lumen stenosis and even occlusion. The condition is also called 'blood coagulation and weep' in Traditional Chinese Medicine. 13Adaptive controller design for underwater snake robot with unmatched uncertainties显示文摘Because of hydrodynamic model error of the present dynamic model, there is a challenge in controller design for the underwater snake-like robot. To tackle this challenge, this paper proposes an adaptive control schemes based on dynamic model for a planar, underwater snake-like robot with model error and time-varying noise. The adaptive control schemes aim to achieve the adaptive control of joint angles tracking and the direction of locomotion control. First, through approximation and reducibility using Taylor expansion method, a simplified dynamics model of a planar amphibious snake-like robot is derived. Then, the L1 adaptive controller based on piecewise constant adaptive law is applied on the simplified planar, underwater snake-like robot, which can deal with both matched and unmatched nonlinear uncertainties. Finally, to control the direction of locomotion, an auxiliary bias signal is used as the control input to regulate the locomotion direction. Simulation results show that this L1 adaptive controller is valid to deal with different uncertainties and achieve the joint angles tracking and fast adaptive at the same time. 14Spatial and temporal variability of colored dissolved organic matter absorption properties in the Taiwan Strait显示文摘Spatial and temporal variability of the absorption properties of colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM) in the Taiwan Strait was investigated in summer (July to August of 2006) and winter (from December 2006 to January of 2007) seasons. The CDOM absorption coefficient at 280 nm (a 280 ) showed a decreasing trend from nearshore to offshore areas while the spectral slope coefficient parameter calculated between wavelengths 275-295 nm (S 275 295 ) showed an increase, indicative of decreasing aromaticity and molecular weight of the CDOM. The average a 280 in winter (1.47 ± 0.50 m 1 ) was significantly higher than in summer (1.10 ± 0.41 m 1 ), while the average S 275 295 in winter (26.7 ± 5.2 μm 1 ) was significantly lower than in summer (30.6 ± 5.5 μm 1 ), demonstrating clear seasonal variation in CDOM abundance and properties in the Taiwan Strait. A three-end- member conservative mixing model showed that local terrestrial CDOM inputs from several rivers along the western coast were small (<5%). However, the distribution of CDOM in the Taiwan Strait is mainly controlled by water mass movement [i.e., the Zhe-min Coastal Current (ZCC) and the Kuroshio Branch Current (KBC) in winter and the South China Sea Water (SCSW) in summer]. 15Hd1,Ghd7,and DTH8 synergistically determine the rice heading date and yield-related agronomic traits显示文摘Heading date determines the seasonal and regional adaptation of rice(Oryza sativa L.)varieties and is mainly controlled by photoperiod sensitivity(PS).The core heading date genes Hd1,Ghd7,DTH8,and PRR37 act synergistically in regulating the PS.In this study,we systematically analyze the heading date,PS,and agronomic traits of eight homozygous lines with various combinations of Hd1,Ghd7,and DTH8 alleles in the prr37 background under long-day(LD)and short-day(SD)conditions,respectively.We find that Hd1 alone promotes heading,regardless of the day length.However,under LDs,Hd1 suppresses flowering,in coordination with functional Ghd7 or with Ghd7 and DTH8.These loci cooperate to negatively regulate the Ehd1-Hd3 a/RFT1 pathway and delay heading.Under SDs,Hd1 competes with various heading suppressors to promote heading.Therefore,the dual function of Hd1 is vital for PS.The lines carrying Hd1 alone show reduced plant height with fewer primary and secondary branches in panicles.Lines carrying Ghd7 and DTH8(with hd1)show delayed heading and improve agronomic traits.Overall,our results reveal the regulation of rice PS flowering by the core heading date genes and their effects on agronomic traits,providing valuable information for the selection of rice varieties for adaptation to different light and temperature conditions.Kangli Sun Minghui Huang Wubei Zong Dongdong Xiao Chen Lei Yanqiu Luo Yingang Song Shengting Li Yu Hao Wanni Luo Bingqun Xu Xiaotong Guo Guangliang Wei Letian Chen Yao-Guang Liu Jingxin Guo 2022Journal of Genetics and Genomics2022,49,5:4
16An in-situ formed ceramic/alloy/ceramic sandwich barrier to resist elements interdiffusion between NiCrAlY coating and a Ni-based superalloy显示文摘NiCrAlY coatings are widely applied on various alloy components to enhance oxidation and/or corrosion resistance at high temperatures.However,elements interdiffusion occurs between them due to composition difference.Although various diffusion barriers(DBs)are reported,this problem is still far from completely solved as most ceramic barriers suffer from poor adherence,while the metallic barriers play a limited role.In this study,NiCrAlY coating was deposited onto a second-generation single-crystal superalloy by arc ion plating.A novel simple method is provided to address elements interdiffusion.By pre-oxidation at a moderate temperature,a thin scale of Ni(Co)O forms at the alloy surface.It transforms to be an alumina/NiCoCr alloy/alumina sandwich by an in-situ reaction with the overlaying NiCrAlY coating and the alloy substrate at high service temperatures,which offers good barrier ability in conjunction with strong adhesion.In the presence of such an alumina/alloy/alumina DB,the NiCrAlY coating provides high resistance to oxidation and scale spallation for the alloy substrate.Cean Guo Feng Zhou Minghui Chen Jinlong Wang Shenglong Zhu Fuhui Wang 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,11:3

A model of acute blood stasis was established via injection of HMWD into the tail vein. After performing electrocardiogram at the predetermined times according to the grouping, we collected blood and cardiac samples for hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining and histopathological examination via transmission electron microscopy. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect plasma levels of NO, AngⅡ, and fibrinogen. Real-time polymerase chain reaction was used to detect the expression of ANGPTL4 m RNA and NRG-1 m RNA. Immunohistochemical methods were used to detect PECAM-1 protein expression.RESULTS: The rat model of blood stasis showed blood retention in the capillary lumens. The ST segment showed gradual elevation, and was still elevated at 3 and 6 h after induction of blood stasis.HE staining showed myocardial cell necrosis and dissolution after modeling, along with basement membrane rupture and mitochondrial structural damage. Transmission electron microscopy showed endothelial cell swelling and an increase in absorption vesicles immediately after modeling. Endothelial cell apoptosis was increased at 3 and 6 h after modeling. Cardiac muscle fibers were disordered and intercalated discs were blurred immediately after modeling. There were massive numbers of dissolved cardiac muscle fibers, ruptured basement membranes, and mitochondrial structural damage at 3 and 6 h after modeling. NO plasma concentration was significantly reduced immediately and 1 h after modeling, while it was increased at 3 and 6 h.AngⅡ plasma concentration was decreased immediately after modeling, but increased at 1, 3, and6 h. Fibrinogen plasma concentration was significantly increased at immediate, 1, 3, and 6 h after modeling. PECAM-1 protein expression was obviously increased immediately after modeling, at 1, 6 h was found mild augment. Expression of Ang PTL4 m RNA was increased at immediate, 1, 3, and 6 h after modeling, and was found further augment at 3,and 6 h. Expression of NRG-1 m RNA was increased at immediate, 1, 3, and 6 h after modeling, and the strongest expression was at 1 h.CONCLUSION: The pathological manifestation of acute blood stasis is characterized by microvascular blood retention. 19Co_(3)Mo_(3)N—An efficient multifunctional electrocatalyst显示文摘Efficient catalysts are required for both oxidative and reductive reactions of hydrogen and oxygen in sustainable energy conversion devices.However,current precious metal-based electrocatalysts do not perform well across the full range of reactions and reported multifunctional catalysts are all complex hybrids.Here,we show that singlephase porous Co3Mo3N prepared via a facile method is an efficient and reliable electrocatalyst for three essential energy conversion reactions;oxygen evolution reaction(OER),oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)in alkaline solutions.Co3-Mo3N presents outstanding OER,ORR,and HER activity with high durability,comparable with the commercial catalysts RuO2 for OER and Pt/C for ORR and HER.In practical demonstrations,Co3Mo3N gives high specific capacity(850 mA h gZn^(-1) at 10 mA cm^(-2))as the cathode in a zinc-air battery,and a low potential(1.63 V at 10 mA cm^(-2))used in a water-splitting electrolyzer.Availability of Co and Mo d-states appear to result in high ORR and HER performance,while the OER properties result from a cobalt oxide-rich activation surface layer.Our findings will inspire further development of bimetallic nitrides as cost-effective and versatile multifunctional catalysts that will enable scalable usage of electrochemical energy devices.Yao Yuan Samira Adimi Tiju Thomas Jiacheng Wang Haichuan Guo Jian Chen J.Paul Attfield Francis J.DiSalvo Minghui Yang 2021The Innovation2021,2,2:2
