| 1 | The calcium sensing receptor: from calcium sensing to signaling显示文摘The Ca2+-sensing receptor(the Ca SR),a G-protein-coupled receptor,regulates Ca2+ homeostasis in the body by monitoring extracellular levels of Ca2+([Ca2+]o) and responding to a diverse array of stimuli.Mutations in the Ca2+-sensing receptor result in hypercalcemic or hypocalcemic disorders,such as familial hypocalciuric hypercalcemia,neonatal severe primary hyperparathyroidism,and autosomal dominant hypocalcemic hypercalciuria.Compelling evidence suggests that the Ca SR plays multiple roles extending well beyond not only regulating the level of extracellular Ca2+ in the human body,but also controlling a diverse range of biological processes.In this review,we focus on the structural biology of the Ca SR,the ligand interaction sites as well as their relevance to the disease associated mutations.This systematic summary will provide a comprehensive exploration of how the Ca SR integrates extracellular Ca2+ into intracellular Ca2+ signaling. | ZHANG Chen MILLER Cassandra Lynn BROWN Edward M YANG Jenny J. | 2015 | Science China(Life Sciences)2015,58,1: | 14 |

Schischk(SD) is a traditional Chinese herb commonly used to treat clinical conditions such as rheumatism and allergic rhinitis. This review article evaluates a collection of works on in vitro and biochemical studies of SD. The discourse on the diverse class of chromones and coumarins in SD offers an insight to the pharmacological effects of these bioactive constituents as anti-inflammatory, analgesic, immunoregulatory, antioxidative, and anti-proliferative agents. | 6 | A novel real-time cell electronic analysis technology for the authentication and quality control of natural medicines显示文摘The study was designed to explore the potential applications of the real-time cell electronic analysis technology in the quality evaluation of natural medicines.The natural medicinal Flos Carthami was discussed as a methodological example and the specifc time/dose-dependent cell response profles(TCRPs)were produced by the real-time cell electronic analysis technology.The similarity and bioactivity were obtained by analyzing all TCRPs.Meanwhile,an HPLC method according to the Chinese Pharmacopeia(edition 2010)was used to evaluate the quality of Flos Carthami.The correlation was obtained by comparing the results produced by the two different approaches.By analyzing the data,fve different samples of Flos Carthami can produce remarkably similar TCRPs.The quality of Flos Carthami was evaluated by both the HPLC and the TCRPs analysis-based approaches and similar results were obtained.The results suggest that the same natural medicine from different locations could produce similar TCRPs.By analyzing the TCRPs,the bioactivity and quality evaluation of natural medicines can be obtained.This technology is a physiologically relevant approach for the quality evaluation of natural medicines.The ultimate aim of our study is to establish a new standard for quality evaluation. | Guo-Jun Yan Xin Mei Jin Yang Jenny Zhu Jie-Ying Wu Jin-Huo Pan | 2013 | Chinese Chemical Letters2013,24,12: | 2 |
| 7 | Comparing community birdwatching and professional bird monitoring with implications for avian diversity research: a case study of Suzhou, China显示文摘Background:In the past decades,birdwatching as a hobby developed rapidly and produced ample scientific records that have aided conservation efforts.Therefore,it is increasingly attractive to promote avian research by providing data from birdwatching.Methods:We compared records from 16 years of community birdwatching and a 1-year formalized bird monitoring in Suzhou,China to study the similarities and differences between the two monitoring methods.Results:We showed that within the 325 bird species recorded by the two methods,an annual average of 108 species were documented by community science and 223 bird species were recorded by 1-year formalized monitoring.Measured by the number of bird species recorded per survey trip,the bird monitoring activity of community birdwatchers was significantly lower.Furthermore,the monitoring intensity of community birdwatching measured as the average survey trips per site each survey year was also lower than that of formalized bird monitoring.In addition,community birdwatchers preferred urban landscapes to rural areas.Conclusions:Community birdwatching could record the majority of local birds and complements the professional surveys in avian research.Well designed and coordinated community science can be used to expand the knowledge about avian distribution and population dynamics.These findings are critical for the development of conservation science with regard to community involvement. | Yan Zhou Anping Chen Jenny QOuyang Yanlin Liu Aiyu Zheng Zaixi Yang Yong Zhang Bin Wang Yifei Jia Shengwu Jiao Qing Zeng Changhu Lu | 2020 | Avian Research2020,11,2: | 2 |

| 11 | Characterization of CIAE developed double-sided silicon strip detector for charged particles显示文摘A double-sided silicon strip detector(DSSD)with active area of 48 mm x 48 mm and thickness of300μm has been developed. Each side of DSSD consists of48 strips, each with width of 0.9 mm and inter-strip separation of 0.1 mm. Electrical properties and detection performances including full depletion bias voltage, reverse leakage current, rise time, energy resolution and cross talk have been studied. At a bias of 80 V, leakage current in each strip is less than 15 nA, and rise time for alpha particle at 5157 keV is approximately 15 ns on both sides.Good energy resolutions have been achieved with0.65-0.80% for the junction strips and 0.85-1.00% for the ohmic strips. The cross talk is found to be negligible on both sides.
