1Clinical and biochemical indexes from 2019-nCoV infected patients linked to viral loads and lung injury显示文摘The outbreak of the 2019-nCoV infection began in December 2019 in Wuhan,Hubei province,and rapidly spread to many provinces in China as well as other countries.Here we report the epidemiological,clinical,laboratory,and radiological characteristics,as well as potential biomarkers for predicting disease severity in 2019-nCoV-infected patients in Shenzhen,China.All 12 cases of the 2019-nCoV-infected patients developed pneumonia and half of them developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).The most common laboratory abnormalities were hypoalbuminemia,lymphopenia,decreased percentage of lymphocytes (LYM) and neutrophils (NEU),elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH),and decreased CD8 count.The viral load of 2019-nCoV detected from patient respiratory tracts was positively linked to lung disease severity.ALB,LYM,LYM (%),LDH,NEU (%),and CRP were highly correlated to the acute lung injury.Age,viral load,lung injury score,and blood biochemistry indexes,albumin (ALB),CRP,LDH,LYM (%),LYM,and NEU (%),may be predictors of disease severity.Moreover,the Angiotensin Ⅱlevel in the plasma sample from 2019-nCoV infected patients was markedly elevated and linearly associated to viral load and lung injury.Our results suggest a number of potential diagnosis biomarkers and angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) drugs for potential repurposing treatment of 2019-nCoV infection.Yingxia Liu Yang Yang Cong Zhang Fengming Huang Fuxiang Wang Jing Yuan Zhaoqin Wang Jinxiu Li Jianming Li Cheng Feng Zheng Zhang Lifei Wang Ling Peng Li Chen Yuhao Qin Dandan Zhao Shuguang Tan Lu Yin Jun Xu Congzhao Zhou Chengyu Jiang Lei Liu 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,3:157

3Elevated plasma levels of selective cytokines in COVID-19 patients reflect viral load and lung injury显示文摘A recent outbreak of pneumonia in Wuhan,China was found to be caused by a 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV or SARS-CoV-2 or HCoV-19).We previously reported the clinical features of 12 patients with2019-n Co V infections in Shenzhen,China.To further understand the pathogenesis of COVID-19 and find better ways to monitor and treat the disease caused by 2019-n Co V,we measured the levels of 48 cytokines in the blood plasma of those 12 COVID-19 patients.Thirty-eight out of the 48 measured cytokines in the plasma of 2019-n Co V-infected patients were significantly elevated compared to healthy individuals.Seventeen cytokines were linked to 2019-nCoV loads.Fifteen cytokines,namely M-CSF,IL-10,IFN-α2,IL-17,IL-4,IP-10,IL-7,IL-1 ra,G-CSF,IL-12,IFN-γ,IL-1α,IL-2,HGF and PDGF-BB,were strongly associated with the lung-injury Murray score and could be used to predict the disease severity of2019-n Co V infections by calculating the area under the curve of the receiver-operating characteristics.Our results suggest that 2019-nCoV infections trigger extensive changes in a wide array of cytokines,some of which could be potential biomarkers of disease severity of 2019-n Co V infections.These findings will likely improve our understanding of the immunopathologic mechanisms of this emerging disease.Our results also suggest that modulators of cytokine responses may play a therapeutic role in combating the disease once the functions of these elevated cytokines have been characterized.Yingxia Liu Cong Zhang Fengming Huang Yang Yang Fuxiang Wang Jing Yuan Zheng Zhang Yuhao Qin Xiaoyun Li Dandan Zhao Shunwang Li Shuguang Tan Zhaoqin Wang Jinxiu Li Chenguang Shen Jianming Li Ling Peng Weibo Wu Mengli Cao Li Xing Zhixiang Xu Li Chen Congzhao Zhou William J Liu Lei Liu Chengyu Jiang 2020National Science Review2020,7,6:6
4The effect of slight to minor biodegradation on C_6 to C_7 light hydrocarbons in crude oils: a case study from Dawanqi Oilfield in the Tarim Basin,NW China显示文摘Light hydrocarbons(LHs) are one of the main petroleum fractions in crude oils, and carry much information regarding the genetic origin and alteration of crude oils. But secondary alterations—especially biodegradation—have a significant effect on the composition of LHs in crude oils. Because most of the LHs affected in oils underwent only slight biodegradation(rank 1 on the biodegradation scale), the variation of LHs can be used to describe more the refined features of biodegradation. Here,23 crude oils from the Dawanqi Oilfield in the Tarim Basin, NW China, eleven of which have been biodegraded to different extents, were analyzed in order to investigate the effect of slight to minor biodegradation on C_6–C_7 LHs.The study results showed that biodegradation resulted in the prior depletion of straight-chained alkanes, followed by branched alkanes. In slight and minor biodegraded oils,such biodegradation scale could not sufficiently affect C_6–C_7cycloalkanes. For branched C_6–C_7 alkanes, generally,monomethylalkanes are biodegraded earlier than dimethylalkanes and trimethylalkanes, which indicates that branched alkanes are more resistant to biodegradation, with the increase of substituted methyl groups on parent rings.The degree of alkylation is one of the primary controlling factors on the biodegradation of C_6–C_7 LHs. There is a particular case: although 2,2,3-trimethylbutane has a relative higher alkylation degree, 2,2-dimethylpentane is more resistant to biodegradation than 2,2,3-trimethylbutane. 2,2-Dimethylpentane is the most resistant to biodegradation in branched C_6–C_7 alkanes. Furthermore, the 2-methylpentane/3-methylpentane and 2-methylhexane/3-methylhexane ratios decreased steadily with increasing biodegradation,which implies that isomers of bilateral methyl groups are more prone to bacterial attack relative to mid-chain isomers. The position of the alkyls on the carbon skeleton is also one of the critical factors controlling the rate of biodegradation. With increasing biodegradation, Mango's LH parameters K1 values decrease and K2 values increase,the values of n-heptane and isoheptane decrease, and the indices of methylcyclohexane and cyclohexane increase.LH parameters should be applied cautiously for the biodegraded oils. Because biodegraded samples belong to slight or minor biodegraded oils, the values of n-heptane and isoheptane from Dawanqi Oilfield can better reflect and determine the ‘‘Biodegraded'' zone. 5Adipose-derived stem cells inhibit dermal fibroblast growth and induce apoptosis in keloids through the arachidonic acid-derived cyclooxygenase-2/prostaglandin E2 cascade by paracrine显示文摘Background:The clinical features of keloids consist of aberrant proliferation,secretion,differentiation and apoptosis of keloid dermis-derived fibroblasts(KFBs).Notably,the apoptosis rate of KFBs is lower than the proliferation rate.Though the anti-fibrotic effect of adipose-derived stem cells(ADSCs)on keloids has become a hot topic of research,the exact anti-fibrotic mechanism of the paracrine effect remains unclear.This study aimed to find out how the conditioned medium of ADSCs(ADSC-CM)exerts an anti-fibrotic effect in KFBs.Methods:KFBs and ADSCs were extracted and cultured.Then,ADSC-CM was prepared.Whether ADSC-CM could inhibit KFB growth and induce apoptosis was verified by the use of a cell counting kit-8,an 5-Ethynyl-2-deoxyuridine(Edu)kit and flow cytometry.The expressions of cyclooxygenase-1(COX-1),COX-2,caspase 3 and B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2)in ADSC-CM-cultured KFBs were tested by real-time PCR and western blotting.To clarify the role of COX-2 in ADSC-CM-induced KFB apoptosis,a specific COX-2 inhibitor,celecoxib,was applied to KFBs cultured in ADSC-CM.Moreover,we tested the production of arachidonic acid(AA)and prostaglandin E2(PGE2)by ELISA.Then,we established a keloid transplantation model in a nude mouse to validate the therapeutic effect in vivo.Results:The proliferation ability of KFBs cultured in ADSC-CM was found to be weakened and apoptosis was significantly increased.Caspase 3 expression was significantly upregulated and Bcl-2 was downregulated in ADSC-CM-cultured KFBs.Furthermore,ADSC-CM strikingly elevated COX-2 mRNA and protein expressions,but COX-1 expression was unaltered.COX-2 inhibitors reduced ADSC-CM-induced apoptosis.Additionally,COX-2 inhibition blocked the elevation of caspase 3 and reversed the decrease in Bcl-2 expression.ADSC-CM increased PGE2 levels by 1.5-fold and this effect was restrained by COX-2 inhibition.In the nude mouse model,expressions of AA,COX-2 and PGE2 were higher in the translated keloid tissues after ADSC-CM injection than in the controls.Conclusions:We showed activation of the COX-2/PGE2 cascade in KFBs in response to ADSC-CM.By employing a specific COX-2 inhibitor,COX-2/PGE2 cascade activation played a crucial role in mediating the ADSC-CM-induced KFB apoptosis and anti-proliferation effects.Jinxiu Yang Shiyi Li Leren He Minliang Chen 2021Burns & Trauma2021,9,1:4

9Facile synthesis of spinel LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) as 5.0 V-class high-voltage cathode materials for Li-ion batteries显示文摘LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) and LiMn_(2)O_(4) with novel spinel morphology were synthesized by a hydrothermal and postcalcination process.The synthesized LiMn_(2)O_(4) particles(5–10 lm)are uniform hexahedron,while the LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) has spindle-like morphology with the long axis 10–15 lm,short axis 5–8 lm.Both LiMn_(2)O_(4) and LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) show high capacity when used as cathode materials for Li-ion batteries.In the voltage range of 2.5–5.5 V at room temperature,the LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) has a high discharge capacity of 135.04 mA·h·g^(-1) at 20 mAg^(-1),which is close to 147 mA·h·g^(-1)(theoretical capacity of LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4)).The discharge capacity of LiMn_(2)O_(4) is 131.08 mA·h·g^(-1) at 20 mAg^(-1).Moreover,the LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) shows a higher capacity retention(76%)compared to that of LiMn_(2)O_(4)(61%)after 50 cycles.The morphology and structure of LiMn_(2)O_(4) and LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) are well kept even after cycling as demonstrated by SEM and XRD on cycled LiMn_(2)O_(4) and LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) electrodes.Xueyi Guo Chenlin Yang Jinxiu Chen Qinghua Tian Hongmei Zhang Guoyong Huang 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,11:2

13Laboratory Diagnosis and Monitoring the Viral Shedding of SARS-CoV-2 Infection显示文摘The worldwide epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is ongoing.Rapid and accurate detection of the causative virus SARSCoV-2 is vital for the treatment and control of COVID-19.In this study,the comparative sensitivity of different respiratory specimen types were retrospectively analyzed using 3,552 clinical samples from 410 COVID-19 patients confirmed by Guangdong CDC(Center for Disease Control and Prevention).Except for bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF),the sputum possessed the highest positive rate(73.4%–87.5%),followed by nasal swabs(53.1%–85.3%)for both severe and mild cases during the first 14 days after illness onset(d.a.o.).Viral RNA could be detected in all BALF samples collected from the severe group within 14 d.a.o.and lasted up to 46 d.a.o.Moreover,although viral RNA was negative in the upper respiratory samples,it was also positive in BALF samples in most cases from the severe group during treatment.Notably,no viral RNA was detected in BALF samples from the mild group.Despite typical ground-glass opacity observed via computed tomographic scans,no viral RNA was detected in the first three or all upper respiratory tract specimens from some COVID-19 patients.In conclusion,sputum is most sensitive for routine laboratory diagnosis of COVID-19,followed by nasal swabs.Detection of viral RNA in BALF improves diagnostic accuracy in severe COVID-19 patients.Yang Yang Minghui Yang Jing Yuan Fuxiang Wang Zhaoqin Wang Jinxiu Li Mingxia Zhang Jinli Wei Ling Peng Gary Wong Haixia Zheng Weibo Wu Chenguang Shen Mingfeng Liao Kai Feng Jianming Li Qianting Yang Juanjuan Zhao Lei Liu Yingxia Liu 2020The Innovation2020,1,3:1
14Porous Fe-Mn-O nanocomposites:Synthesis and supercapacitor electrode application显示文摘Transition metal oxide micro-/nanostructures demonstrate high potential applications in energy storage devices. Here, we report a facile synthesis of highly homogeneous oxide composites with porous structure via a coordination polymer precursor, which was prepared with the assistance of tartaric acid.The typical product, Fe-Mn-O composite was demonstrated here. The obtained Fe-Mn-O product was systemically characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, elemental mapping analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It was demonstrated that the Fe-Mn-O nanocomposite shows interconnected porous structure, in which iron,manganese, and oxygen are uniformly distributed. In addition, the Fe-Mn-O nanocomposite was then fabricated as capacitor electrodes. Operating in an aqueous neutral solution, the Fe-Mn-O composite electrodes showed an wide working potential window from 0.2 to 1.0 V(vs. SCE), and a specific capacitance of 86.7 Fg^(-1)or 0.4 Fcm^(-2)at a constant current density of 1 Ag^(-1)with good cycle life. 15The Stability of Imitation Dynamics with Continuously Distributed Delays显示文摘This paper investigates imitation dynamics with continuously distributed delay.In realistic technological,economic,and social environments,individuals are involved in strategic interactions simultaneously while the influences of their decision-making may not be observable instantaneously.It shows that there exists a time delay effect.Different distributions of delay are further considered to efficiently lucubrate the stability of interior equilibrium in the imitation dynamics with continuous distributions of delay in the two-strategy game contexts.Precisely,when the delay follows the uniform distributions and Gamma distributions,the authors present that interior equilibrium can be asymptotically stable.Furthermore,when the probability density of the delay is general density,the authors also determine a sufficient condition for stability derived from the expected delay.Last but not least,the interested but uncomplicated Snowdrift game is utilized to demonstrate our theoretical results.FANG Caiya YANG Hui PI Jinxiu WU Wenjun 2023Journal of Systems Science & Complexity2023,36,5:0
