1Terrestrial carbon sinks in China and around the world and their contribution to carbon neutrality显示文摘Enhancing the terrestrial ecosystem carbon sink(referred to as terrestrial C sink) is an important way to slow down the continuous increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) concentration and to achieve carbon neutrality target.To better understand the characteristics of terrestrial C sinks and their contribution to carbon neutrality,this review summarizes major progress in terrestrial C budget researches during the past decades,clarifies spatial patterns and drivers of terrestrial C sources and sinks in China and around the world,and examines the role of terrestrial C sinks in achieving carbon neutrality target.According to recent studies,the global terrestrial C sink has been increasing from a source of (-0.2±0.9) Pg C yr^(-1)(1 Pg=1015g)in the 1960s to a sink of (1.9±1.1) Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s.By synthesizing the published data,we estimate terrestrial C sink of 0.20–0.25 Pg C yr^(-1) in China during the past decades,and predict it to be 0.15–0.52 Pg C yr^(-1) by 2060.The terrestrial C sinks are mainly located in the mid-and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere,while tropical regions act as a weak C sink or source.The C balance differs much among ecosystem types:forest is the major C sink;shrubland,wetland and farmland soil act as C sinks;and whether the grassland functions as C sink or source remains unclear.Desert might be a C sink,but the magnitude and the associated mechanisms are still controversial.Elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration,nitrogen deposition,climate change,and land cover change are the main drivers of terrestrial C sinks,while other factors such as fires and aerosols would also affect ecosystem C balance.The driving factors of terrestrial C sink differ among regions.Elevated CO_(2) concentration and climate change are major drivers of the C sinks in North America and Europe,while afforestation and ecological restoration are additionally important forcing factors of terrestrial C sinks in China.For future studies,we recommend the necessity for intensive and long-term ecosystem C monitoring over broad geographic scale to improve terrestrial biosphere models for accurately evaluating terrestrial C budget and its dynamics under various climate change and policy scenarios.Yuanhe Yang Yue Shi Wenjuan Sun Jinfeng Chang Jianxiao Zhu Leiyi Chen Xin Wang Yanpei Guo Hongtu Zhang Lingfei Yu Shuqing Zhao Kang Xu Jiangling Zhu Haihua Shen Yuanyuan Wang Yunfeng Peng Xia Zhao Xiangping Wang Huifeng Hu Shiping Chen Mei Huang Xuefa Wen Shaopeng Wang Biao Zhu Shuli Niu Zhiyao Tang Lingli Liu Jingyun Fang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5:32

3Variation in cis-regulation of a NAC transcription factor contributes to drought tolerance in wheat显示文摘Drought is a major environmental factor limiting wheat production worldwide,and developing drought-tolerant cultivars is a central challenge for wheat breeders globally.Therefore,it is important to identify genetic components determining drought tolerance in wheat.In this study,we identified a wheat NAC gene(TaNAC071-A)that is tightly associated with drought tolerance by a genome-wide association study.Knockdown of TaNAC071-A in wheat attenuated plant drought tolerance,whereas its overexpression significantly enhanced drought tolerance through improved water-use efficiency and increased expression of stress-responsive genes.This heightened water-saving mechanism mitigated the yield loss caused by water deficit.Further candidate gene association analysis showed that a 108-bp insertion in the promoter of TaNAC071-A alters its expression level and contributes to variation in drought tolerance among wheat accessions.This insertion contains two MYB cis-regulatory elements(CREs)that can be directly bound by the MYB transcription activator,TaMYBL1,thereby leading to increased TaNAC071-A expression and plant drought tolerance.Importantly,introgression of this 108-bp insertion allele,TaNAC071-AIn-693,into drought-sensitive cultivars could improve their drought tolerance,demonstrating that it is a valuable genetic resource for wheat breeding.Taken together,our findings highlight a major breakthrough in determining the genetic basis underlying phenotypic variation in wheat drought tolerance and showcase the potential of exploiting CRE-containing indels for improving important agronomical traits.Hude Mao Shumin Li Bin Chen Chao Jian Fangming Mei Yifang Zhang Fangfang Li Nan Chen Tian Li Linying Du Li Ding Zhongxue Wang Xinxiu Cheng Xiaojing Wang Zhensheng Kang 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,2:9
4Investigation of Induced Distortions in a-Si∶H/a-SiN_x∶H Multilayers by Raman Scattering Technique显示文摘The a Si∶H/SiN x ∶H sample series are investigated by means of Raman scattering technique(RST). The result shows that due to the structural mismatch between a Si∶H and a SiN x ∶H, severe induced distortions are produced in the interface of the heterojunction, and these induced distortions tend towards a certain energy state. 5Geochemical Characters of Water Coproduced with Coalbed Gas and Shallow Groundwater in Liulin Coalfield of China显示文摘To reveal the geochemical characters of water coproduced with coalbed gas and shallow groundwater,water samples were collected from 12 wells of coalbed methane and 7 wells of shallow groundwater.The pH,CODMn,fCO2,total dissolved solids(TDS),total hardness,and concentrations of metasilicic acid,sodium and kalium,calcium ion,magnesium ion,ammonium iron,bicarbonate ion,carbonate,chloride,sulfate ion,nitrate ion,fluoride,lithium,zinc,nickel,manganese,iron,boron,barium,etc.of the samples were measured.Research results showed the following:(1)Concentrations of TDS,chloride,fluoride,sodium and kalium,ammonium,iron,and barium in the water coproduced with coalbed gas exceeded the national standards of China;however,physical,chemical,and biological properties of shallow groundwater could meet the national standard.(2)The water produced from coalbed contained mainly Na–Cl·HCO3,with average TDS of 4588.5 ppm,whereas shallow groundwater contained a mixture of chemicals including Na·Mg·Ca-HCO3·SO4and Na·MgHCO3·SO4,with average TDS of 663.8 ppm.(3)In general,it was observed that bicarbonate and sodium accumulated in a reducing environment and deeper system,while depletion of hydrogen ions and dissolution of sulfate,calcium,and magnesium occurred in a redox environment and shallow system.(4)Sodium and kalium,ammonium,chloride,and bicarbonate ions were the main ions found in the study area.YANG Mei JU Yiwen LIU Guijian TONG Li KANG Yu HOU Quanlin 2013Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2013,87,6:6

7The action of Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms in intrinsic drug resistance显示文摘Background There is a growing interest in studying the relationship between intrinsic resistance and biofilms resistance to drugs. However, the relationship still remains unclear in the macroscopic bacterial growth. Our study is to illuminate the change of bacterial drug resistance of gyrA mutant and active efflux pump during the development of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) biofilms. Methods The strains of type Ⅱ topoisomerase gene mutant (gyrA mutant) and multidrug resistance (MDR) efflux pump were clinical isolates and detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The process of bacterial biofilms development was observed by scanning electron microscope. Triparental mating experiments were performed to transfer report gene of green fluorescent protein (GFP) into P. aeruginosa biofilms strains and followed by analysis of bacterial survival rate between intrinsic resistance and biofilms resistance.Results The fluorescent strains with pGFPuv could develop mature biofilms on Teflon surface. Before a period of 72 hours, the survival rate of biofilms bacteria and intrinsic resistance strains in ciprofloxacin solution was significantly different (P<0.05). The survival number of intrinsic resistance strains (gyrA mutation and active efflux pump) was illustriously higher than biofilm strain in the initial stage of biofilms development. After 72 hours incubation, there was no clearly difference between mutants and biofilms strains in the survival rate (P>0.05). The carbonyl cyanide m-chlorophenylhydrazone and azithromycin could significantly reduce the drug resistance of biofilm strains and efflux pump strains.Conclusions In the development of P. aeruginosa biofilms, the strains of gyrA mutation and MDR efflux could be conferred with new level of drug resistance. When co-cultured mutated strains with biofilm strains, biofilms may play a major role in bacterial resistance. 8Promoting proliferation and differentiation of BMSCs by green tea polyphenols functionalized porous calcium phosphate显示文摘In this article,we proposed a facile protocol to functionalize porous calcium phosphate ceramics(PCPC)using dietary tea polyphenols(TP).TP molecules was attracted and anchored by Ca2t ions from the surface of CPC.These TP molecules modulated the nucleation and crystallization of calcium phosphate nanorods assemblies on the surface of PCPC.Our results prove that these calcium phosphate nanorods assemblies accompanies functional groups of TP make PCPC/TP effectively promote proliferation and differentiation of bone mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs).We inferred that these calcium phosphate nanorods assemblies might change the surface microenvironment of PCPC,which is critical to promote the proliferation and differentiation of BMSCs.Compared with naked PCPC,PCPC/TP obviously increased BMP2,ErK/MAPK and JNK/MAPK level and mineralization capacity of cells(ALP level).Kang Zhou Xiuli Ren Mengen Zhao Xifan Mei Peng Zhang Zhenhua Chen Xiangdong Zhu 2018Regenerative Biomaterials2018,5,1:5
9Strategies for timing nitrogen fertilization of pear trees based on the distribution, storage, and remobilization of ^(15)N from seasonal application of (^(15)NH_4)_2SO_4显示文摘In order to improve the management of nitrogen(N) fertilization in pear orchards, we investigated the effects of application timing on the distribution, storage, and remobilization of N in mature pear trees in a field experiment at Jingtai County, Gansu Province, China. Nine trees were selected for the experiment and each received equal aliquots of 83.33 g N in the autumn, spring, and summer, with ^(15)N-labeled(NH_4)_2SO_4 used in one of the aliquots each season. Results showed that the(^(15)NH_4)_2SO_4 applied in the autumn remained in the soil during the winter. In the following spring this N was absorbed and rapidly remobilized into each organ, especially new organs(leaves, fruit and new shoots). The ^(15)N supplied in spring was rapidly transported to developing fruit between the young fruit and fruit enlargement stages. ^(15)N from the summer application of fertilizer was mainly stored in the coarse roots over the winter, then was mobilized to support growth of new organs in spring. In conclusion, for pear trees we recommend that the autumn application of N-fertilizer be soon after fruit harvest in order to increase N stores in fine roots. Spring application should be between full bloom and the young fruit stages to meet the high N demands of developing fruit. 10Essential roles of stat5.1/stat5b in controlling fish somatic growth显示文摘Signal transducer and activator of transcription 5b(STAT5b) has been identified as a key downstream mediator of growth hormone(GH) signaling in somatic growth of mammalian. However, the corresponding homologue gene of Stat5b is unknown in fish species. In this study, we generated loss-offunction mutants in stat5.1 and stat5.2, two stat5 homologues existing in zebrafish. In stat5.1-deficient zebrafish, a significant reduction of body length and body weight was detected in the embryos/larvae and adults compared with the wild-type control fish, and sexual size dimorphism in adult zebrafish was also eliminated. However, the stat5.2-deficient zebrafish displayed a normal developmental phenotype during all lifespan. Chromatin immunoprecipitation combined with deep sequencing(Ch IP-seq) method was adopted to further investigate the potential transcriptional targets of Stat5 protein and cast much light upon the biological function of Stat5. We identified more than 800 genes as transcriptional targets of Stat5 during zebrafish embryogenesis. KEGG analysis indicated that the Stat5 target gene network is predominantly linked to the metabolic pathways, neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction and JAK-STAT signaling pathways. Further validation studies suggested that Stat5.1 protein could directly regulate the expression of gh1, and stat5.1-mutated zebrafish showed a reduction of gh1 mRNA level. In the present study, stat5.1 was revealed as the corresponding homologue gene of Stat5b in fish species. 11Improvement of hydrogen isotope exchange reactions on Li_4SiO_4 ceramic pebble by catalytic metals显示文摘Li4SiO4 ceramic pebble is considered as a candidate tritium breeding material of Chinese Helium Cooled Solid Breeder Test Blanket Module(CH HCSB TBM) for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor(ITER).In this paper,Li4SiO4 ceramic pebbles deposited with catalytic metals,including Pt,Pd,Ru and Ir,were prepared by wet impregnation method.The metal particles on Li4SiO4 pebble exhibit a good promotion of hydrogen isotope exchange reactions in H 2-D 2 O gas system,with conversion equilibrium temperature reduction of 200-300 8C.The out-of-pile tritium release experiments were performed using 1.0 wt% Pt/Li4SiO4 and Li 4 SiO 4 pebbles irradiated in a thermal neutron reactor.The thermal desorption spectroscopy shows that Pt was effective to increase the tritium release rate at lower temperatures,and the ratio of tritium molecule(HT) to tritiated water(HTO) of 1.0 wt% Pt/Li4SiO4 was much more than that of Li4SiO4,which released mainly as HTO.Thus,catalytic metals deposited on Li4SiO4 pebble may help to accelerate the recovery of bred tritium particularly in low temperature region,and increase the tritium molecule form released from the tritium breeding materials.Cheng Jian Xiao Chun Mei Kang Xiao Jun Chen Xiao Ling Gao Yang Ming Luo Sheng Hu Xiao Lin Wang 2012Chinese Chemical Letters2012,23,8:4
12Effects of sodium tartrate anodizing on fatigue life of TA15 titanium alloy显示文摘Anodizing is always used as an effective surface modification method to improve the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of titanium alloy.The sodium tartrate anodizing is a new kind of environmental anodizing method.In this work, the effects of sodium tartrate anodizing on mechanical property were studied.The oxide film was performed on the TA15 titanium alloy using sodium tartrate as the film former.The effects of this anodizing and the traditional acid anodizing on the fatigue life of TA15 alloy were compared.The results show that the sodium tartrate anodizing just caused a slight increase of hydrogen content in the alloy, and had a slight effect on the fatigue life.While, the traditional acid anodizing caused a significant increase of hydrogen content in the substrate and reduced the fatigue life of the alloy significantly.Fu Chunjuan Tian Wenming Yang Kang Yu Mei Liu Jianhua 2015Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,4:4
13Stochastic resonance in coupled weakly-damped bistable oscillators subjected to additive and multiplicative noises显示文摘With coupled weakly-damped periodically driven bistable oscillators subjected to additive and multiplicative noises under concern,the objective of this paper is to check to what extent the resonant point predicted by the Gaussian distribution assumption can approximate the simulated one.The investigation based on the dynamical mean-field approximation and the direct simulation demonstrates that the predicted resonant point and the simulated one are basically coincident for the case of pure additive noise,but for the case including multiplicative noise the situation becomes somewhat complex.Specifically speaking,when stochastic resonance(SR) is observed by changing the additive noise intensity,the predicted resonant point is lower than the simulated one;nevertheless,when SR is observed by changing the multiplicative noise intensity,the predicted resonant point is higher than the simulated one.Our observations imply that the Gaussian distribution assumption can not exactly describe the actual situation,but it is useful to some extent in predicting the low-frequency stochastic resonance of the coupled weakly-damped bistable oscillator.Yan-Mei Kang Mei Wang Yong Xie 2012Acta Mechanica Sinica2012,28,2:3
14NiSe_(2)/Ni(OH)_(2) Heterojunction Composite through Epitaxial-like Strategy as High-Rate Battery-Type Electrode Material显示文摘Constructing heterojunction is a promising way to improve the charge transfer efficiency and can thus promote the electrochemical properties.Herein,a facile and effective epitaxial-like growth strategy is applied to NiSe2 nano-octahe-dra to fabricate the NiSe2-(100)/Ni(OH)2-(110)heterojunction.The heterojunction composite and Ni(OH)2(performing high electrochemical activity)is ideal high-rate battery-type supercapacitor electrode.The NiSe2/Ni(OH)2 electrode exhibits a high specific capacity of 909 C g^-1 at 1 A g^-1 and 597 C g^-1 at 20 A g^-1.The assembled asymmetric supercapacitor composed of the NiSe2/Ni(OH)2 cathode and p-phenylenediamine-functional reduced graphene oxide anode achieves an ultrahigh specific capacity of 303 C g^-1 at 1 A g^-1 and a superior energy density of 76.1 Wh kg^-1 at 906 W kg^-1,as well as an outstanding cycling stability of 82%retention for 8000 cycles at 10 A g^-1.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first example of NiSe2/Ni(OH)2 heterojunction exhibiting such remarkable supercapacitor performance.This work not only provides a promising candidate for next-generation energy storage device but also offers a possible universal strategy to fabricate metal selenides/metal hydroxides heterojunctions.Hao Mei Zhaodi Huang Ben Xu Zhenyu Xiao Yingjie Mei Haobing Zhang Shiyu Zhang Dacheng Li Wenpei Kang Dao Feng Sun 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,5:3

19Buyang Huanwu Decoction(补阳还五汤)Attenuates Glial Scar by Downregulating Expression of Leukemia Inhibitory Factor in Intracerebral Hemorrhagic Rats显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the effect of Buyang Huanwu Decoction(补阳还五汤,BYHWD) on glial scar after intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH) and investigate the underlying mechanism.Methods: Collagenase type Ⅶ(0.5 U) was injected stereotaxically into right globus pallidus to induce ICH model.One hundred and twenty SpragueDawley rats were randomly divided into 3 groups according to a random number table,including normal group(n=40),ICH model group(n=40) and BYHWD group(n=40),respectively.After ICH,the rats in the BYHWD group were intragastrically administered with BYHWD(4.36 g/kg) once a day for 21 days,while the rats in ICH group were administered with equal volume of distilled water for 21 days,respectively.Double immunolabeling was performed for proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)+/glial ?brillary acidic protein(GFAP)+ nuclei.The expression of GFAP and leukemia inhibitory factor(LIF) was evaluated by immunohistochemistry and quantitative real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results: The astrocytes with hypertrophied morphology around the hematoma was observed on day 3 after ICH.The number of GFAP positive cells and GFAP m RNA levels increased notably on day 3 and reached the peak on day 14 post-ICH(P<0.01).PCNA+/GFAP+ nuclei were observed around the hematoma and reached the peak on day 14 post-ICH(P<0.01).In addition,LIF-positive astrocytes and LIF m RNA level in the hemorrhagic region increased signi?cantly till day 14 post-ICH(P<0.01).However,BYHWD not only reduced the number of PCNA+/GFAP+ nuclei,but also decreased GFAP and LIF levels(P<0.05).Conclusion:BYHWD could attenuate ICH-induced glial scar by downregulating the expression of LIF in the rats.KANG Xiao ZHOU Hua-jun YANG Jian ZHONG Jian-hua TANG Tao CUI Han-jin ZHOU Jing-hua MEI Zhi-gang 2019Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2019,25,4:3
20Studies on the Effects on Growth and Antioxidant Responses of Two Marine Microalgal Species to Uniconazole显示文摘Uniconazole, as a plant growth retardant, can enhance stress tolerance in plants, possibly because of improved antioxidation defense mechanisms with higher activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and peroxidase(POD) enzymes that retard lipid peroxidation and membrane deterioration. These years much attention has been focused on the responses of antioxidant system in plants to uniconazole stress, but such studies on aquatic organism are very few. Moreover, no information is available on growth and antioxidant response in marine microalgae to uniconazole. In this paper, the growth and antioxidant responses of two marine microalgal species, Platymonas helgolandica and Pavlova viridis, at six uniconazole concentrations(0-15 mg L-1) were investigated. The results demonstrated that 3 mg L-1 uniconazole could increase significantly chlorophyll a and carbohydrate contents of P. helgolandica(P < 0.05). Higher concentrations(≥12 mg L-1) of uniconazole could inhibit significantly the growth, dry weight, chlorophyll-a and carbohydrate contents of P. helgolandica and P. viridis(P < 0.05). Uniconazole caused a significant increase in lipid peroxidation production(MDA) at higher concentrations(≥ 9 mg L-1). The activities of antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase(SOD) and catalase(CAT) were enhanced remarkably at low concentrations of uniconazole.
