A cyclic nucleotide-gated channel mediates cytoplasmic calcium elevation and disease resistance in rice显示文摘The transient elevation of cytoplasmic calcium is essential for pathogen-associated molecular pattern(PAMP)-triggered immunity(PTI).However, the calcium channels responsible for this process have remained unknown. Here,we show that rice CDSI(CELL DEATH and SUSCEPTIBLE to BLAST 1)encoding OsCNGC9;a cyclic nucleotide-gated channel protein, positively regulates the resistance to rice blast disease. We show that OsCNGC9 mediates PAMP-induced Ca2+influx and that this event is critical for PAMPs-triggered ROS burst and induction of PTI-related defense gene expression. We further show that a PTI related receptor-lih cytoplasmic kinase OsRLCK185 physically interacts with and phosphorylates OsCNGC9 to activate its channel activity. Our results suggest a signaling cascade linking pattern recognition to calcium channel activation, which is required for initiation of PTI and disease resistance in rice. | Jiachang Wang Xi Liu An Zhang Yulong Ren Fuqing Wu Gang Wang Yang Xu Cailin Lei Shanshan Zhu Tian Pan Yongfei Wang Huan Zhang Fan Wang Yan-Qiu Tan Yupeng Wang Xin Jin Sheng Luo Chunlei Zhou Xiao Zhang Jinling Liu Shuai Wang Lingzhi Meng Yihua Wang Xi Chen Qibing Lin Xin Zhang Xiuping Guo Zhijun Cheng Jiulin Wang Yunlu Tian Shijia Liu Ling Jiang Chuanyin Wu Ertao Wang Jian-Min Zhou Yong-Fei Wang Haiyang Wang Jianmin Wan | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,10: | 13
Performance and mechanism of Cr(Ⅵ)removal by zero-valent iron loaded onto expanded graphite显示文摘Zero-valent iron(ZⅥ) was loaded on expanded graphite(EG) to produce a composite material(EG-ZⅥ) for efficient removal of hexavalent chromium(Cr(Ⅵ)). EG and EG-ZⅥ were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier-transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET) analysis. EG-ZⅥ had a high specific surface area and contained sub-micron sized particles of zero-valent iron. Batch experiments were employed to evaluate the Cr(Ⅵ) removal performance. The results showed that the Cr(Ⅵ) removal rate was 98.80% for EG-ZⅥ,which was higher than that for both EG(10.00%) and ZⅥ(29.80%). Furthermore, the removal rate of Cr(Ⅵ) by EG-ZⅥ showed little dependence on solution p H within a p H range of 1–9.Even at pH 11, a Cr(Ⅵ) removal rate of 62.44% was obtained after reaction for 1 hr. EG-ZⅥ could enhance the removal of Cr(Ⅵ) via chemical reduction and physical adsorption, respectively. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) was used to analyze the mechanisms of Cr(Ⅵ) removal, which indicated that the ZⅥ loaded on the surface was oxidized, and the removed Cr(Ⅵ) was immobilized via the formation of Cr(III) hydroxide and Cr(III)–Fe(III)hydroxide/oxyhydroxide on the surface of EG-ZⅥ. | Congbin Xu Wenjie Yang Weijiang Liu Hongliang Sun Chunlei Jiao Ai-jun Lin | 2018 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,5: | 10
Transcriptional activation and phosphorylation of OsCNGC9 confer enhanced chilling tolerance in rice显示文摘Low temperature is a major environmental factor that limits plant growth and productivity.Although transient elevation of cytoplasmic calcium has long been recognized as a critical signal for plant cold tolerance, the calcium channels responsible for this process have remained largely elusive. Here we report that OsCNGC9,a cyclic nucleotide-gated channel, positively regulates chilling tolerance by mediating cytoplasmic calcium elevation in rice(Oryza sativa). We showed that the loss-of-function mutant of OsCNGC9 is defective in cold-induced calcium influx and more sensitive to prolonged cold treatment, whereas OsCNGC9 overexpression confers enhanced cold tolerance.Mechanistically,we demonstrated that in response to chilling stress,OsSAPK8,a homolog of Arabidopsis thaliana OST1,phosphorylates and activates OsCNGC9 to trigger Ca2+influx.Moreover,we found that the transcription of OsCNGC9 is activated by a rice dehydration-responsive element-binding transcription factor,OsDREB1A.Taken together, our results suggest that OsCNGC9 enhances chilling tolerance in rice through regulating cold-induced calcium influx and cytoplasmic calcium elevation. | Jiachang Wang Yulong Ren Xi Liu Sheng Luo Xiao Zhang Xin Liu Qibing Lin Shanshan Zhu Hua Wan Yang Yang Yu Zhang Bin Lei Chunlei Zhou Tian Pan Yongfei Wang Mingming Wu Ruonan jing Yang Xu Meng Han Fuqing Wu Cailin Lei Xiuping Guo Zhijun Cheng Xiaoming Zheng Yihua Wang Zhigang Zhao Ling Jiang Xin Zhang Yong-Fei Wang Haiyang Wang Jianmin Wan | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,2: | 10
Quantifying the Preferential Flow by Dye Tracer in the North China Plain显示文摘The preferential flow plays a vital role on the infiltration of irrigation or rainfall. The objective of this study was to quantify preferential flow in the processing of irrigation infiltration in the field scale. Tests of different initial soil water contents and irrigation intensities were conducted using Brilliant Blue FCF(C.I.42090) dye tracer in Luancheng County of the North China Plain. The results showed that the percentages of infiltration by the preferential flow for irrigation depth of 25, 50, and 75 mm were 16.67%, 43.67%, and 34.17%, with 19.72%, 61.42%, 66.64% of dyed areas in the soil profile, respectively, which indicated that preferential flow was enhanced with increasing irrigation intensity, but reduced when the irrigation intensity was over 50 mm. The percentages of preferential flow for 75 and 180 mm previous irrigation producing different initial soil water contents were 23.26% and 18.97%, with 53.23% and 39.94% of dyed areas in the soil profile, respectively. Compared with the 75 mm without previous irrigation, the results indicated that higher initial soil water contents restrained the preferential flow in the field. Therefore, intermittent irrigation and low irrigation intensity patterns, and larger depth of plowing would be suggested to reduce the preferential flow which would increase the soil water utilization efficiency and reduce pollution risk of pesticide and fertilizer to groundwater. | Qinghua Wu Chunlei Liu Wenjing Lin Meng Zhang Guiling Wang Fawang Zhang | 2015 | Journal of Earth Science2015,26,3: | 4
Estimation of Age,Growth and Maturation of Purpleback Flying Squid,Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis,in Bashi Channel,Central Pacific Ocean显示文摘The age, growth and maturation of Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis were determined with statolith data collected with a light purse seine from the Bashi Channel of central Pacific Ocean. The estimated longevity of the squid was no more than 6 months for females, and no more than 5 months for males. Growth in mantle length(ML) was best described by logistic models for both females and males, while growth in body weight(BW) was best fitted by power curves. The maximum absolute growth rate(AGR) and instantaneous growth rate(IGR) in ML or BW both occurred at 91–105 days for females and 76–90 days for males. Back calculated hatching dates were from October to January, with a peak in December, although the short duration of sampling date might have had an influence on the result. The lower percentage of mature females(37.2%) suggested that the study area during the sampling date was not a spawning ground for the species. Size and age at first maturity were 183 mm ML and 136 days for females, whereas they were 156 mm ML and 85 days for males. | LIU Bilin LIN Jingyuan FENG Chunlei LI Jianhua SU Hang | 2017 | Journal of Ocean University of China2017,16,3: | 3
Characterization of Rebound Depolarization in Neurons of the Rat Medial Geniculate Body In Vitro显示文摘Rebound depolarization(RD) is a response to the offset from hyperpolarization of the neuronal membrane potential and is an important mechanism for the synaptic processing of inhibitory signals. In the present study, we characterized RD in neurons of the rat medial geniculate body(MGB), a nucleus of the auditory thalamus, using whole-cell patch-clamp and brain slices. RD was proportional in strength to the duration and magnitude of the hyperpolarization; was effectively blocked by Ni2or Mibefradil; and was depressed when the resting membrane potential was hyperpolarized by blocking hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated(HCN)channels with ZD7288 or by activating G-protein-gated inwardly-rectifying K(GIRK) channels with baclofen. Our results demonstrated that RD in MGB neurons, which is carried by T-type Ca2channels, is critically regulated by HCN channels and likely by GIRK channels. | Xin-Xing Wang Yan Jin Hui Sun Chunlei Ma Jinsheng Zhang Ming Wang Lin Chen | 2016 | Neuroscience Bulletin2016,32,1: | 2
ESCRT-Ⅲ component OsSNF7.2 modulates leaf rolling by trafficking and endosomal degradation of auxin biosynthetic enzyme OsYUC8 in rice显示文摘The endosomal sorting complex required for transport(ESCRT)is highly conserved in eukaryotic cells and plays an essential role in the biogenesis of multivesicular bodies and cargo degradation to the plant vacuole or lysosomes.Although ESCRT components affect a variety of plant growth and development processes, their impact on leaf development is rarely reported. Here,we found that OsSNF7.2,an ESCRT-Ⅲ component, controls leaf rolling in rice(Oryza sativa). The Ossnf7.2 mutant rolled leaf 17(rl17)has adaxially rolled leaves due to the decreased number and size of the bulliform cells.OsSNF7.2is expressed ubiquitously in all tissues, and its protein is localized in the endosomal compartments.OsSNF7.2 homologs, including OsSNF7,OsSNF7.3,and OsSNF7.4,can physically interact with OsSNF7.2,but their single mutation did not result in leaf rolling.Other ESCRT complex subunits, namely OsVPS20,OsVPS24,and OsBRO1,also interact with OsSNF7.2.Further assays revealed that OsSNF7.2 interacts with OsYUC8 and aids its vacuolar degradation. Both Osyuc8and rl17 Osyuc8 showed rolled leaves, indicating that OsYUC8 and OsSNF7.2 function in the same pathway, conferring leaf development. This study reveals a new biological function for the ESCRT-Ⅲcomponents,and provides new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying leaf rolling. | Liang Zhou Saihua Chen Maohong Cai Song Cui Yulong Ren Xinyue Zhang Tianzhen Liu Chunlei Zhou Xin Jin Limin Zhang Minxi Wu Shuyi Zhang Zhijun Cheng Xin Zhang Cailin Lei Qibing Lin Xiuping Guo Jie Wang Zhichao Zhao Ling Jiang Shanshan Zhu Jianmin Wan | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,6: | 1

A joint call for actions to advance taxonomy in China显示文摘Taxonomy plays an important role in understanding the origin, evolution, and ecological functionality of biodiversity. There are large number of unknown species yet to be described by taxonomists, which together with their ecosystem services cannot be effectively protected prior to description. Despite this, taxonomy has been increasingly underrated insufficient funds and permanent positions to retain young talents. Further, the impact factordriven evaluation systems in China exacerbate this downward trend, so alternative evaluation metrics are urgently necessary. When the current generation of outstanding taxonomists retires, there will be too few remaining taxonomists left to train the next generation. In light of these challenges, all co-authors worked together on this paper to analyze the current situation of taxonomy and put out a joint call for immediate actions to advance taxonomy in China. | Chaodong Zhu Arong Luo Ming Bai Michael COrr Zhonge Hou Siqin Ge Jun Chen Yibo Hu Xuming Zhou Gexia Qiao Hongzhi Kong Limin Lu Xiaohua Jin Lei Cai Xinli Wei Ruilin Zhao Wei Miao Qingfeng Wang Zhongli Sha Qiang Lin Meng Qu Jianping Jiang Jiatang Li Jing Che Xuelong Jiang Xiaoyong Chen Lianming Gao Zongxin Ren Chunlei Xiang Shixiao Luo Donghui Wu Dong Liu Yanqiong Peng Tao Su Chenyang Cai Tianqi Zhu Wanzhi Cai Xingyue Liu Hu Li Huaijun Xue Zhen Ye Xuexin Chen Pu Tang Shujun Wei Hong Pang Qiang Xie Feng Zhang Feng Zhang Xianjin Peng Aibing Zhang Taiping Gao Changfa Zhou Chen Shao Libin Ma Zhaoming Wei Yunxia Luan Ziwei Yin Wu Dai Cong Wei Xiaolei Huang Jingxian Liu Xiangsheng Chen Tianci Yi Zhisheng Zhang Zhulidezi Aishan Qin Li Hongying Hu | 2022 | Zoological Systematics2022,47,3: | 1
Phytoplankton pigment pattern in the subsurface chlorophyll maximum in the South Java coastal upwelling system, Indonesia显示文摘Upwelling occurs on the coast of Java between June and October, forced by local alongshore winds associated with the southeasterly monsoon. This causes variations in phytoplankton community composition in the upwelling zone compared with the surrounding offshore area. Based on pigments analysis with subsequent calculations of group contributions to total chlorophyll a(Chl a) using CHEMTAX, we studied the distribution and composition of phytoplankton assemblages in the subsurface chlorophyll maximum along the south coast of Java and the influence of upwelling. Nineteen phytoplankton pigments were identified using high-performance liquid chromatography, and CHEMTAX analysis associated these to ten major phytoplankton groups. The phytoplankton community in the coastal area influenced by upwelling was characterized by high Chl a and fucoxanthin concentrations, indicating the dominance of diatoms. In contrast, in the offshore area, the Chl a and fucoxanthin concentrations declined to very low levels and the community was dominated by haptophytes represented by 19′-Hexanoyloxyfucoxanthin. Accordingly, microphytoplankton was found to be the major size class in the coastal area influenced by upwelling, while nanophytoplankton was most abundant in the offshore area. Low concentrations of other accessory pigments indicated less contribution from dinoflagellates, prasinophytes, chlorophytes and cryptophytes. Photo-pigment indices revealed that photosynthetic carotenoids(PSCs) were the largest component of the pigment pool, exceeding the proportion of Chl a, with the average PSCTP up to 0.62. These distribution trends can mainly be explained by phytoplankton adaption strategies to upwelling and subsurface conditions by changing species composition and adjusting the pigment pool. | GAO Chunlei FU Mingzhu SONG Hongjun WANG Lei WEI Qinsheng SUN Ping LIU Lin ZHANG Xuelei | 2018 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2018,37,12: | 1

Foliar K application delays leaf senescence of winter rapeseed(Brassica napus L.) under waterlogging显示文摘To better understand waterlogging effect on leaf senescence in winter rapseed (Brassica napus L.) during flowering stage, experiments were designed to explore foliar K application influences on adverse effects of waterlogging stress. Winter rapeseed was sprayed with K after waterlogging at initial flowering stage. Results indicated that waterlogging significantly decreased leaf net photosynthetic rate (Pn), stomatal conductance (Gs), intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci) and transpiration rate (Tr). It also declined maximum quantum yield of PS II (Fv/Fm), quantum yield of electron transport (ΦPS II) and photochemical quenching (qP), but increased leaf non-photochemical quenching (NPQ) and minimal fluorescence (Fo). Interestingly, exogenous application of K significantly alleviated waterlogging-induced photosynthesis inhibition. Foliar K application increased RuBisCO activation, chlorophyll and soluble protein contents, while significantly decreased MDA content under waterlogging stress. Moreover, K supplementation improved accumulation of K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, N, Zn2+, Mn2+, Fe2+ in leaves. In general, foliar K application is effective inalleviating deleterious effects of waterlogging stress and delays leaf senescence of winter rapeseed. | Lin Wan Chao Hu Chang Chen Liyan Zhang Ni Ma Chunlei Zhang | 2017 | Oil Crop Science2017,2,1: | 1

A novel polymer-based nitrocellulose platform for implementing a multiplexed microfluidic paperbased enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay显示文摘Nitrocellose(NC)membranes,as porous paper-like substrates with high protein-binding capabilties, are very popular in the field of point-of-care immunoassays. However, generating robust hydrophobic structures in NC membranes to fabricate microfluidic paper-based analytical devices(μPADs)remains a great challenge. At present, the main method relies on an expensive wax printer In addition,NC membranes very easy to adhere during the printing process due to electrostatic adsorption.Herein,we developed a facile, fast and low-cost strategy to fabricateμPADs in NC membranes by screen-printing polyurethane acrylate(PUA)as a barrier material for defning flow channels and reaction zones. Moreover, hydrophobic barriers based on UV-curable PUA can resist various surfactant solutions and organic solvents that are generally used in immunoassays and biochemical reactions. To validate the feasibility of this PUA-based NC membrane for immunoassays in point-of-care testing(POCT),we further designed and assembled a rotational paperbased analytical device for implementing a multiplexed enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)in a simple manner.Using the proposed device under the optimal conditions, alpha fetoprotein(AFP)and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)could be identified, with limits of detection of 136 pg/mL and 174 pg/mL,respectively,which are below the threshold values of these two cancer biomarkers for clinical diagnosis. We believe that this reliable device provides a promising plaform for the diagnosis of disease based on ELISA or other related bioassays in limited setings or remote regions. | Dong Lin Bowei Li Longwen Fu Ji Qi Chunlei Xia Yi Zhang Jiadong Chen Jaebum Choo Lingxin Chen | 2022 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,3: | 0

Electrically programmable phase-change photonic memory for optical neural networks with nanoseconds in situ training capability显示文摘Optical neural networks (ONNs), enabling low latency and high parallel data processing withoutelectromagnetic interference, have become a viable player for fast and energy-efficient processing andcalculation to meet the increasing demand for hash rate. Photonic memories employing nonvolatile phase-change materials could achieve zero static power consumption, low thermal cross talk, large-scale, andhigh-energy-efficient photonic neural networks. Nevertheless, the switching speed and dynamic energyconsumption of phase-change material-based photonic memories make them inapplicable for in situ training. Here, by integrating a patch of phase change thin film with a PIN-diode-embedded microring resonator,a bifunctional photonic memory enabling both 5-bit storage and nanoseconds volatile modulation wasdemonstrated. For the first time, a concept is presented for electrically programmable phase-changematerial-driven photonic memory integrated with nanosecond modulation to allow fast in situ training and zerostatic power consumption data processing in ONNs. ONNs with an optical convolution kernel constructedby our photonic memory theoretically achieved an accuracy of predictions higher than 95% when testedby the MNIST handwritten digit database. This provides a feasible solution to constructing large-scalenonvolatile ONNs with high-speed in situ training capability. | Maoliang Wei Junying Li Zequn Chen Bo Tang Zhiqi Jia Peng Zhang Kunhao Lei Kai Xu Jianghong Wu Chuyu Zhong Hui Ma Yuting Ye Jialing Jian Chunlei Sun Ruonan Liu Ying Sun Wei.E.I.Sha Xiaoyong Hu Jianyi Yang Lan Li Hongtao Lin | 2023 | Advanced Photonics2023,5,4: | 0
Scalable direct N-methylation of drug-like amines using 12CO2/13CO2 by simple inorganic base catalysis显示文摘With the growing urgency of potential catastrophic climate changes due to anthropogenic CO2 emissions, numerous efforts have been devoted to development of synthetic protocols using CO2 as a building block in organic reactions, but the general applicability to complex drug-like substrates remains a challenge. We develop a general protocol for scalable direct N-methylation of a wide-scope drug-like amines using CO2 and polymethylhydrosiloxane-a nontoxic, aerobically-stable hydrosilane considered as an industrial waste-via simple inorganic base catalysis. A rare application of the Sabatier principle in organic chemistry led to the discovery of cheap, nontoxic K3PO4 as an efficient catalyst. | 19 | Research on the Impact Behavior of Molten Metal on the Mold Shell in Gravity Casting of Large Titanium alloy Castings显示文摘The impact behavior of molten metal on the mold shell in gravity casting of large titanium alloy castings by investment precision castings was studied. The physical and mechanical models of the impact of molten metal on the mold shell during the pouring process were constructed using numerical simulation. The effects of molten metal pouring rate and pouring weight on the maximum impact force of the mold shell were studied. The research results indicated that during the entire pouring process, the impact force of the first molten metal contacting the mold shell was higher than subsequent molten metal. The maximum impact force increased with the increase of pouring rate and pouring weight. The total impact force of the molten metal on the mold shell was composed of the instantaneous impact force converted from instantaneous impulse and itself gravity. The instantaneous impact force of the molten metal that first impacts the mold shell was much greater than its own gravity, while the impact force of the molten metal at the end of pouring was much less than its own gravity. The maximum impact force on the mold shell of a large casting with a pouring weight of 800kg was about three times higher than that of a medium-sized casting with a pouring weight of 80kg.The difference in the total impact force on the mold shell between them mainly comes from the instantaneous impact force converted from instantaneous impulse. | Xiaoping ZHU Chunlei ZHU Baosen LIN Zidong WANG | 2023 | Research and Application of Materials Science2023,5,1: | 0

The designed parity-check matrix is with rather random behavior. Simulation results show that the proposed method makes an improvement in bit error rate (BER) performance by 0.4 dB compared with that of Luby for AWGN channel. The proposed method decreases the complexity of decoding significantly, and improves the error correcting performance of LDPC codes.
