6Post-combustion slipstream CO_(2)-capture test facility at Jiangyou Power Plant,Sichuan,China:facility design and validation using 30% wt monoethanolamine(MEA)testing显示文摘Given the dominant share of coal in China’s energy-generation mix and the fact that>50% of the power plants in the country are currently<15 years old,efforts to significantly reduce China’s CO_(2) footprint will require the deployment of CO_(2) capture across at least part of its fleet of coal-fired power plants.CO_(2)-capture technology is reaching commercial maturity,but it is still necessary to adapt the technology to regional conditions,such as power-plant design and flexible operation in the China context.Slipstream facilities provide valuable field data to support the commercialization of CO_(2) capture.We have built a slipstream facility at Jiangyou power plant in Sichuan that will allow us to explore China-relevant issues,especially flexible operation,over the next few years.We plan to share our results with the broader CO_(2)-capture and CO_(2)-storage(CCS)community to accelerate the deployment of CCS in China.This paper describes the design of the slipstream facility and presents results from our steady-state qualification tests using a well-studied benchmark solvent:30% wt monoethanolamine(MEA).The results from our MEA tests compare favorably to results reported from other slipstream-test facilities around the world,allowing us to commission our system and establish a reference baseline for future studies.Baodeng Wang Qian Cui Guoping Zhang Yinhua Long Yongwei Sun Xinglei Zhao Zhendong He Anthony Y.Ku 2020Clean Energy2020,4,2:1

12Stressed carbon nanotube devices for high tunability,high quality factor, single mode GHz resonators显示文摘The emerging applications of nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) inground-state cooling, quantum manipulation, communication devices, etc., callfor a nanoresonator with high frequency, quality factor, and tunability, as wellas easy integration. Here we show that such a nanoresonator can be achievedby using a unique assembly technique that transfers the stressed inner shell ofcarbon nanotubes (CNTs) to a self-aligned device geometry. The as-fabricatednanoresonator shows excellent comprehensive performance, i.e., high frequency(2-3 GHz), high tunability (80-110 MHz/V), high quality factor (3×10^4), andsingle mode operation. The defect-free nature of the inner shell of the CNTgives rise to a high quality factor, and the preloaded tension improves theresonant frequency and tunability. 14Post-combustion slipstream CO_(2)-capture test facility at Jiangyou Power Plant, Sichuan, China: performance of a membrane separation module under dynamic power-plant operations显示文摘Membrane-based separation technologies have the potential to lower the cost of post-combustion CO_(2) capture from power-plant flue gases through reduced energy and capital costs relative to conventional solvent approaches.Studies have shown promise under controlled conditions,but there is a need for data on performance and reliability under field conditions.Coal-fired power plants in China operate in a dynamic manner,with increases and decreases in output causing changes in flue-gas composition.In this paper,we describe the first field test of a membrane-based post-combustion CO_(2)-capture system connected to a dynamically operating power plant in China.We report the performance of a Membrane Technology Research,Inc.(MTR)Polaris^(TM) membrane-based capture system over a range of plant operating loads ranging from 54%to 84%and conducted an operational stability test over a 168-h period during which the power plant was operating at an average load of 55%,but ramped as high as 79%and as low as 55%.Our results confirm the ability of a membrane capture system to operate effectively over a wide range of host-plant operating conditions,but also identity several issues related to plant integration,system control and resilience in the face of host-plant upsets that require attention as membrane separation systems move towards commercial use.Qian Cui Baodeng Wang Xinglei Zhao Guoping Zhang Zhendong He Yinhua Long Yongwei Sun Anthony Y.Ku 2021Clean Energy2021,5,4:1
15Numerical Optimization and Noise Analysis of High-Tip-SpeedWind Turbine显示文摘With lower turbulence and less rigorous restrictions on noise levels,offshore wind farms provide favourable conditions for the development of high-tip-speed wind turbines.In this study,the multi-objective optimization is presented for a 5MW wind turbine design and the effects of high tip speed on power output,cost and noise are analysed.In order to improve the convergence and efficiency of optimization,a novel type of gradient-based multi-objective evolutionary algorithm is proposed based on uniform decomposition and differential evolution.Optimization examples of the wind turbines indicate that the new algorithm can obtain uniformly distributed optimal solutions and this algorithm outperforms the conventional evolutionary algorithms in convergence and optimization efficiency.For the 5MW wind turbines designed,increasing the tip speed can greatly reduce the cost of energy(COE).When the tip speed increases from 80m/s to 100m/s,under the same annual energy production,the COE decreases by 3.2%in a class I wind farm and by 5.1%in a class III one,respectively,while the sound pressure level increases by a maximum of 4.4dB with the class III wind farm case.Long Wang Guoping Chen Tongguang Wang Jiufa Cao 2017Advances in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics2017,9,6:0
16Mechanism of Diabatic Heating on Precipitation and the Track of a Tibetan Plateau Vortex over the Eastern Slope of the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Existing studies contend that latent heating(LH)will replace sensible heating(SH)to become the dominant factor affecting the development of the Tibetan Plateau vortex(TPV)after it moves off the Tibetan Plateau(TP).However,in the process of the TPV moving off the TP requires that the airmass traverse the eastern slope of the Tibetan Plateau(ESTP)where the topography and diabatic heating(DH)conditions rapidly change.How LH gradually replaces SH to become the dominant factor in the development of the TPV over the ESTP is still not very clear.In this paper,an analysis of a typical case of a TPV with a long life history over the ESTP is performed by using multi-sourced meteorological data and model simulations.The results show that SH from the TP surface can change the TPV-associated precipitation distribution by temperature advection after the TPV moves off the TP.The LH can then directly promote the development of the TPV and has a certain guiding effect on the track of the TPV.The SH can control the active area of LH by changing the falling area of the TPV-associated precipitation,so it still plays a key role in the development and tracking of the TPV even though it has moved out of the main body of the TP.Yuanchang DONG Guoping LI Xiaolin XIE Long YANG Peiwen ZHANG Bo ZENG 2024Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2024,41,1:0
17Recognition for avian influenza virus proteins based on support vector machine and linear discriminant analysis显示文摘Total 200 properties related to structural characteristics were employed to represent structures of 400 HA coded proteins of influenza virus as training samples. Some recognition models for HA proteins of avian influenza virus (AIV) were developed using support vector machine (SVM) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA). The results obtained from LDA are as follows: the identification accuracy (Ria) for training samples is 99.8% and Ria by leave one out cross validation is 99.5%. Both Ria of 99.8% for training samples and Ria of 99.3% by leave one out cross validation are obtained using SVM model, respectively. External 200 HA proteins of influenza virus were used to validate the external predictive power of the resulting model.
