| 1 | Trending IC design directions in 2022显示文摘For the non-stop demands for a better and smarter society, the number of electronic devices keeps increasing exponentially;and the computation power, communication data rate, smart sensing capability and intelligence are always not enough. Hardware supports software, while the integrated circuit(IC) is the core of hardware. In this long review paper, we summarize and discuss recent trending IC design directions and challenges, and try to give the readers big/cool pictures on each selected small/hot topics. We divide the trends into the following six categories, namely, 1) machine learning and artificial intelligence(AI) chips, 2) communication ICs, 3) data converters, 4) power converters, 5) imagers and range sensors, 6) emerging directions. | 2 | Rotavirus VP7 epitope chimeric proteins elicit cross-immunoreactivity in guinea pigs显示文摘VP7 of group A rotavirus(RVA) contains major neutralizing epitopes. Using the antigenic protein VP6 as the vector, chimeric proteins carrying foreign epitopes have been shown to possess good immunoreactivity and immunogenicity. In the present study, using modified VP6 as the vector,three chimeric proteins carrying epitopes derived from VP7 of RVA were constructed. The results showed that the chimeric proteins reacted with anti-VP6 and with SA11 and Wa virus strains.Antibodies from guinea pigs inoculated with the chimeric proteins recognized VP6 and VP7 of RVA and protected mammalian cells from SA11 and Wa infection in vitro. The neutralizing activities of the antibodies against the chimeric proteins were significantly higher than those against the vector protein VP6 F. | 6 | Anti-Seizure and Neuronal Protective Effects of Irisin in Kainic Acid-Induced Chronic Epilepsy Model with Spontaneous Seizures显示文摘An increased level of reactive oxygen species is a key factor in neuronal apoptosis and epileptic seizures.Irisin reportedly attenuates the apoptosis and injury induced by oxidative stress.Therefore,we evaluated the effects of exogenous irisin in a kainic acid(KA)-induced chronic spontaneous epilepsy rat model.The results indicated that exogenous irisin significantly attenuated the KA-induced neuronal injury,learning and memory defects,and seizures.Irisin treatment also increased the levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)and uncoupling protein 2(UCP2),which were initially reduced following KA administration.Furthermore,the specific inhibitor of UCP2(genipin)was administered to evaluate the possible protective mechanism of irisin.The reduced apoptosis,neurodegeneration,and spontaneous seizures in rats treated with irisin were significantly reversed by genipin administration.Our findings indicated that neuronal injury in KA-induced chronic epilepsy might be related to reduced levels of BDNF and UCP2.Moreover,our results confirmed the inhibition of neuronal injury and epileptic seizures by exogenous irisin.The protective effects of irisin may be mediated through the BDNF-mediated UCP2 level.Our results thus highlight irisin as a valuable therapeutic strategy against neuronal injury and epileptic seizures. | Jie Yu Yao Cheng Yaru Cui Yujie Zhai Wenshen Zhang Mengdi Zhang Wenyu Xin Jia Liang Xiaohong Pan Qiaoyun Wang Hongliu Sun | 2022 | Neuroscience Bulletin2022,38,11: | 1 |

| 8 | Environmental microcystin exposure triggers the poor prognosis of prostate cancer: Evidence from case-control, animal, and in vitro studies显示文摘Microcystin-leucine-arginine(MC-LR)is positively linked with multiple cancers in humans.However,the association between MC-LR and the risk and prognosis of prostate cancer has not been conducted in epidemiological studies.No reported studies have linked MC-LR exposure to the poor prognosis of prostate cancer by conducting experimental studies.The content of MC-LR was detected in most of the aquatic food in wet markets and supermarkets in Nanjing and posed a health risk for consumers.MC-LR levels in both prostate cancer tissues and serum were significantly higher than controls.The adjusted odds ratio(OR)for prostate cancer risk by serum MC-LR was 1.75(95%CI:1.21-2.52)in the whole subjects,and a positive correlation between MC-LR and advanced tumor stage was observed.Survival curve analysis indicated patients with higher MC-LR levels in tissues exhibited poorer overall survival.Human,animal,and cell studies confirmed that MC-LR exposure increases the expression of estrogen receptor-α(ERα)and promotes epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)in prostate cancer.Moreover,MC-LR-induced decreased E-cadherin levels,increased vimentin levels,and increased migratory and invasive capacities of prostate cancer cells were markedly suppressed upon ERαknockdown.MC-LR-induced xenograft tumor growth and lungmetastasis in BALB/c nude mice can be effectively alleviated with ERαknockdown.Our data demonstrated that MC-LR upregulated vimentin and downregulated E-cadherin through activating ERα,promoting migration and invasion of prostate cancer cells.Our findings highlight the role of MC-LR in prostate cancer,providing new perspectives to understand MC-LR-induced prostatic toxicity. | Chun Pan Haixiang Qin Minghao Yan Xuefeng Qiu Wenyue Gong Wenxin Luo Hongqian Guo Xiaodong Han | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5: | 1 |
| 9 | Validation of MODIS C6 AOD Products Retrieved by the Dark Target Method in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Urban Agglomeration,China显示文摘The quality of the MODIS C6 3-km and 10-km aerosol optical depth(AOD) products retrieved by the Dark Target(DT)method is discussed using ground-based observations in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region from 1 August 2007 to 31 July2008. Good consistency exists between the 3-km and 10-km products and ground-based observations. The retrieval accuracy of the two products both show distinctive seasonality. The percentage falling within the expected error(EE) is largest in the winter, moderate in the spring and autumn, and smallest in the summer. A worse overestimation appears in the spring and summer(27%–66%). However, the 3-km and 10-km products over different surfaces still exhibit obvious deviations. The 10-km product performs better in the large cities, while the 3-km product has advantages in the suburbs. In urban areas, the percentage falling within EE of the 3-km AOD product(18%–59%) is lower than that for the 10-km AOD product(31%–69%). However, in suburban areas, the percentage falling within EE of the 3-km AOD product(61%–84%) is higher than for the 10 km AOD product(54%–83%).The percentages falling within EE differ considerably when the AOD is greater than1.5(73% and 63% for the 3-km and 10-km products, respectively). | 11 | Experimental and Theoretical Study on CHF of a Ultra-Supercritical Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler Water-Wall Tube at near-Critical Pressures显示文摘The experimental and theoretical research on the critical heat flux(CHF)in a uniformly heated water-wall tube of the efficient ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed(USCFB)boiler has been conducted.In particular,the experimental pressure varies from 18 MPa to 21 MPa,which is from 0.814Pcr–0.95Pcr(Pcr:critical pressure).The mass flux varies from 310 kg·m^(–2)·s^(–1)to 550 kg·m^(–2)·s^(–1).The inlet sub-cooling temperatures vary from 5°C to 10°C.The material of the tube is 12Cr1MoVg.From experimental investigation,the near critical pressure CHF test data of water are obtained.We find that the CHF mainly occurs when the vapor qualities are less than 0.4,and it occurs earlier(at lower vapor quality)when the pressure is closer to 22.115 MPa or the mass flux is smaller.From the experimental data,a correlation function for the CHF is established via regression and machine learning.Correlations established via machine learning greatly improved the regression accuracy.To study the CHF phenomenon mechanically,a theoretical model is established based on the near-surface bubble crowding model describing the DNB-type CHF.In the development of the CHF model,the friction resistance coefficient is determined according to our test results.By comparison with different experimental results,the near-surface bubble crowding model is well suited to describe DNB-type CHF.The calculation results of the model can provide reference for the optimal design of the USCFB boiler. | WANG Wenyu MA Zhan QING Hao NIE Chao YANG Haoyu BI Lingfeng YANG Dong PAN Wenxiao | 2023 | Journal of Thermal Science2023,32,1: | 0 |

| 15 | Early development and functional properties of tryptase/chymase double-positive mast cells from human pluripotent stem cells显示文摘Mast cells (MCs) play a pivotal role in the hypersensitivity reaction by regulating the innate and adaptive immune responses. Humans have two types of MCs. The first type, termed MCTC, is found in the skin and other connective tissues and expresses both tryptase and chymase, while the second, termed MCT, which only expresses tryptase, is found primarily in the mucosa. MCs induced from human adult-type CD34+ cells are reported to be of the MCT type, but the development of MCs during embryonic/fetal stages is largely unknown. Using an efficient coculture system, we identified that a CD34+c-kit+ cell population, which appeared prior to the emergence of CD34+CD45+ hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs), stimulated robust production of pure Tryptase+Chymase+ MCs (MCTCs). Single-cell analysis revealed dual development directions of CD34+c-kit+ progenitors, with one lineage developing into erythro-myeloid progenitors (EMP) and the other lineage developing into HSPC. Interestingly, MCTCs derived from early CD34+c-kit+ cells exhibited strong histamine release and immune response functions. Particularly, robust release of IL-17 suggested that these early developing tissue-type MCTCs could play a central role in tumor immunity. | 19 | Targeting FAPα-positive lymph node metastatic tumor cells suppresses colorectal cancer metastasis显示文摘Lymphatic metastasis is the main metastatic route for colorectal cancer, which increases the risk of cancer recurrence and distant metastasis. The properties of the lymph node metastatic colorectal cancer(LNM-CRC) cells are poorly understood, and effective therapies are still lacking. Here, we found that hypoxia-induced fibroblast activation protein alpha(FAPα) expression in LNM-CRC cells. Gain-or loss-function experiments demonstrated that FAPα enhanced tumor cell migration, invasion, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, stemness, and lymphangiogenesis via activation of the STAT3 pathway. In addition, FAPα in tumor cells induced extracellular matrix remodeling and established an immunosuppressive environment via recruiting regulatory T cells, to promote colorectal cancer lymph node metastasis(CRCLNM). Z-GP-DAVLBH, a FAPα-activated prodrug, inhibited CRCLNM by targeting FAPα-positive LNM-CRC cells.
