| 3 | Regulation of FN1 degradation by the p62/SQSTM1-dependent autophagy-lysosome pathway in HNSCC显示文摘Epithelial–mesenchymal transition(EMT)is involved in both physiological and pathological processes.EMT plays an essential role in the invasion,migration and metastasis of tumours.Autophagy has been shown to regulate EMT in a variety of cancers but not in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC).Herein,we investigated whether autophagy also regulates EMT in HNSCC.Analyses of clinical data from three public databases revealed that higher expression of fibronectin-1(FN1)correlated with poorer prognosis and higher tumour pathological grade in HNSCC.Data from SCC-25 cells demonstrated that rapamycin and Earle’s balanced salt solution(EBSS)promoted autophagy,leading to increased FN1 degradation,while 3-methyladenine(3-MA),bafilomycin A1(Baf A1)and chloroquine(CQ)inhibited autophagy,leading to decreased FN1 degradation.On the other hand,autophagic flux was blocked in BECN1 mutant HNSCC Cal-27 cells,and rapamycin did not promote autophagy in Cal-27 cells;also in addition,FN1 degradation was inhibited.Further,we identified FN1 degradation through the lysosome-dependent degradation pathway using the proteasome inhibitor MG132.Data from immunoprecipitation assays also showed that p62/SQSTM1 participated as an autophagy adapter in the autophagy–lysosome pathway of FN1 degradation.Finally,data from immunoprecipitation assays demonstrated that the interaction between p62 and FN1 was abolished in p62 mutant MCF-7 and A2780 cell lines.These results indicate that autophagy significantly promotes the degradation of FN1.Collectively,our findings clearly suggest that FN1,as a marker of EMT,has adverse effects on HNSCC and elucidate the autophagy–lysosome degradation mechanism of FN1. | Xinchen Liu Lin Meng Xing Li Daowei Li Qilin Liu Yumeng Chen Xiangwei Li Wenhuan Bu Hongchen Sun | 2020 | International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,4: | 7 |

| 9 | Comparative evaluation of the impact of GRAPES and MM5 meteorology on CMAQ prediction over Pearl River Delta, China显示文摘The community multiscale air quality (CMAQ) model was used to forecast air quality over the Pearl River Delta region from December 2013 to January 2014.The pollution forecasting performance of CMAQ coupled with two different meteorological models,i.e.,the global/regional assimilation and prediction system (GRAPES) and the fifth-generation mesoscale model (MM5),was assessed by comparison with observational data.The effects of meteorological factors and physicochemical processes on the forecast results were discussed through process analysis.The results showed that both models exhibited good performance but that of GRAPES-CMAQ was better.GRAPES was superior in predicting the overall variation tendencies of meteorological fields,but it showed large deviations in atmospheric pressure and wind speed.This contributed to the higher correlation coefficients of the pollutants with GRAPES-CMAQ but with greater deviations.The underestimations of nitrate and ammonium salt contributed to the underestimations of both particulate matter and extinction coefficients.Source emissions made the only positive contributions to surface layer SO2,CO,and NO.It was found that O3 originated primarily from horizontal and vertical transport and that its consumption was predominantly via chemical processes.Conversely,NO2 was found derived primarily from chemical production. | Tao Deng Yiang Chen Qilin Wan Yanxia Zhang Xuejiao Deng Yanyan Huang Guangfeng Dai Fei Li | 2018 | Particuology2018,16,5: | 4 |
| 10 | On-chip readout plasmonic mid-IR gas sensor显示文摘Gas identification and concentration measurements are important for both understanding and monitoring a variety of phenomena from industrial processes to environmental change.Here a novel mid-IR plasmonic gas sensor with on-chip direct readout is proposed based on unity integration of narrowband spectral response,localized field enhancement and thermal detection.A systematic investigation consisting of both optical and thermal simulations for gas sensing is presented for the first time in three sensing modes including refractive index sensing,absorption sensing and spectroscopy,respectively.It is found that a detection limit less than 100 ppm for CO2 could be realized by a combination of surface plasmon resonance enhancement and metal-organic framework gas enrichment with an enhancement factor over 8000 in an ultracompact optical interaction length of only several microns.Moreover,on-chip spectroscopy is demonstrated with the compressive sensing algorithm via a narrowband plasmonic sensor array.An array of 80 such sensors with an average resonance linewidth of 10 nm reconstructs the CO2 molecular absorption spectrum with the estimated resolution of approximately 0.01 nm far beyond the state-of-the-art spectrometer.The novel device design and analytical method are expected to provide a promising technique for extensive applications of distributed or portable mid-IR gas sensor. | Qin Chen Li Liang Qilin Zheng Yaxin Zhang Long Wen | 2020 | Opto-Electronic Advances2020,3,7: | 4 |
| 11 | Impacts of different methylprednisolone administration routes in patients with sudden hearing loss or Meniere’s disease显示文摘Background:Evidence suggests that glucocorticoids are important in the treatment of sudden hearing loss(SHL)and Meniere’s disease(MD).However,different glucocorticoid administration methods may have a significant impact on treatment outcomes.Objective:This study aimed to investigate effects of different glucocorticoid administration methods on sudden hearing loss and Meniere’s disease.Methods:In this study,glucocorticoids were administered orally in 18 patients,by retroauricular injection in 15 patients and by intratympanic injection in 15 patients.White blood cell(WBC)count,serum Kt,fasting plasma glucose(FPG),body temperature,heart rate and blood pressure were used to evaluate effects of glucocorticoids on patients with hearing loss.Visual analog scale(VAS)of pain and sleep disorders were also surveyed,and pure tone audiometry(PTA)results were compared among groups to evaluate efficacy of different glucocorticoids administration methods.Result:WBC count,heart rate and blood pressure were higher in patients taking oral glucocorticoids,while body temperature,serum Kt and FPG levels did not change in all three groups.However,patients who received intratympanic injection of glucocorticoids experienced more pain,while those taking oral glucocorticoids reported more sleep impairment.Treatment efficacy on hearing loss was not significantly different among the three groups.Conclusion:These findings suggest that systemic glucocorticoid administration can result in greater whole body responses than local administration,but with similar hearing treatment efficacy. | Dan Chen Zhipeng Li Qilin Zhou Yubin Chen Luoying Yang Jingqian Tan Xiangli Zeng Peng Li | 2020 | Journal of Otology2020,15,4: | 4 |
| 12 | Extremely regular periodic surface structures in a large area efficiently induced on silicon by temporally shaped femtosecond laser显示文摘Femtosecond laser-induced periodic surface structures(LIPSS) have several applications in surface structuring and functionalization. Three major challenges exist in the fabrication of regular and uniform LIPSS: enhancing the periodic energy deposition, reducing the residual heat, and avoiding the deposited debris. Herein, we fabricate an extremely regular low-spatial-frequency LIPSS(LSFL) on a silicon surface by a temporally shaped femtosecond laser. Based on a 4 f configuration zero-dispersion pulse shaping system, a Fourier transform limit(FTL) pulse is shaped into a pulse train with varying intervals in the range of 0.25–16.2 ps using periodic π-phase step modulation. Under the irradiation of the shaped pulse with an interval of 16.2 ps, extremely regular LSFLs are efficiently fabricated on silicon. The scan velocity for fabricating regular LSFL is 2.3 times faster, while the LSFL depth is 2 times deeper, and the diffraction efficiency is 3 times higher than those of LSFL using the FTL pulse.The formation mechanisms of regular LSFL have been studied experimentally and theoretically. | 14 | Highly Efficient Synthesis of Environmentally Friendly Ag-modified TiO2 Nanoflowers to Enhance Photocatalytic Performance显示文摘Ag-modified TiO2 nanoflowers were prepared using a two-step process. The experimental process is green and free from contamination and can be synthesized directly at room temperature. Compared with pure TiO2, Ag-modified TiO2 enhances the absorption of visible light and effectively promotes the detachment of photoelectron pairs, Ag-TiO2 has a significantly enhanced visible light response activity to photodecomposition of methyl orange(MO). It is shown that the strong interaction between Ag nanoparticles and TiO2 enhances the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 nanoflowers. The self-made open-air reactor was used to test the photocatalytic performance of different samples. The results showed that Ag-modified TiO2 nanoflowers had excellent photodegradation ability. | 15 | Comprehensive Proteomic Profiling of Patients'Tears Identifies Potential Biomarkers for the Traumatic Vegetative State显示文摘The vegetative state is a complex condition with unclear mechanisms and limited diagnostic, prognostic,and therapeutic methods. In this study, we aimed to explore the proteomic profile of tears from patients in a traumatic vegetative state and identify potential diagnostic markers using tears—a body fluid that can be collected noninvasively. Using i TRAQ quantitative proteomic technology, in the discovery phase, tear samples collected from 16 patients in a traumatic vegetative state and 16 normal individuals were analyzed. Among 1080 identified tear proteins, 57 were upregulated and 15 were downregulated in the patients compared to the controls. Bioinformatics analysis revealed that the differentially-expressed proteins were mainly involved in the wound response and immune response signaling pathways. Furthermore, we verified the levels of 7 differentially-expressed proteins in tears from50 traumatic vegetative state patients and 50 normal controls(including the samples used in the discovery phase) using ELISA. The results showed that this 7-protein panel had a high discrimination ability for traumatic vegetative state(area under the curve = 0.999). | 16 | SNP-based linkage mapping for validation of adult plant stripe rust resistance QTL in common wheat cultivar Chakwal 86显示文摘Wheat crops in China are constantly challenged by stripe rust. Deployment of cultivars with diverse resistances is the best strategy to control the disease. A recombinant inbred line(RIL) population derived from a cross between the resistant cultivar Chakwal 86 and susceptible landrace Mingxian 169 was studied in multiple environments to examine the underlying genetics and to identify quantitative trait loci(QTL) for stripe rust resistance.One hundred and twenty-eight RILs were genotyped with wheat 35 K SNP array and a genome-wide linkage map with 1480 polymorphic SNP markers, or bins, was constructed.Two major QTL on chromosomes 1BL and 3BS, and one minor QTL on 6BS had significant effects in reducing stripe rust severity. The QTL were validated using composite interval mapping(CIM) and inclusive composite interval mapping(ICIM). These methods explained59.0%–74.1% of the phenotype variation in disease response. The QTL on chromosome 1 BL was confirmed to be Yr29/Lr46 and the one on 3BS was the resistance allele identified in CIMMYT germplasm but was not Yr30/Sr2. The QTL on 6BS probably corresponded to previously known QTL. RILs with combined QTL were more resistant than those with single or no QTL. Kompetitive allele-specific PCR(KASP) assays for the QTL with largest effect QTL on chromosome 3BS were performed on a subset of RILs and 150 unrelated wheat lines. | 17 | Biofilm response and removal via the coupling of visible-light-driven photocatalysis and biodegradation in an environment of sulfamethoxazole and Cr(Ⅵ)显示文摘The widespread contamination of water systems with antibiotics and heavy metals has gained much attention.Intimately coupled visible-light-responsive photocatalysis and biodegradation(ICPB)provides a novel approach for removing such mixed pollutants.In ICPB,the photocatalysis products are biodegraded by a protected biofilm,leading to the mineralization of refractory organics.In the present study,the ICPB approach exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity and biodegradation,providing up to~1.27 times the degradation rate of sulfamethoxazole(SMX)and 1.16 times the Cr(Ⅵ)reduction rate of visiblelight-induced photocatalysis.Three-dimensional fluorescence analysis demonstrated the synergistic ICPB effects of photocatalysis and biodegradation for removing SMX and reducing Cr(Ⅵ).In addition,the toxicity of the SMX intermediates and Cr(Ⅵ)in the ICPB process significantly decreased.The use of MoS_(2)/CoS_(2)photocatalyst accelerated the separation of electrons and holes,with·O_(2)^(–)and h+attacking SMX and ereducing Cr(Ⅵ),providing an effective means for enhancing the removal and mineralization of these mixed pollutants via the ICPB technique.The microbial community results demonstrate that bacteria that are conducive to pollutant removal are were enriched by the acclimation and ICPB operation processes,thus significantly improving the performance of the ICPB system. | Liushu Pan ZhouWan Qilin Feng Jue Wang Jianhua Xiong Shuangfei Wang Hongxiang Zhu Guoning Chen | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,12: | 2 |
| 18 | Investigation on induction brazing of profiled cBN wheel for grinding of Ti-6Al-4V显示文摘Profiled monolayer cBN wheel was induction brazed for grinding of titanium dovetail slot in this study.Aimed at acquiring a uniform temperature distribution along the profiled surface and reducing the thermal deformation of the brazed wheel,a finite element model was established to investigate the temperature uniformity during induction brazing.A suitable induction coil and the related working parameters were designed and chosen based on the simulation results.Ag-Cu-Ti alloy and cBN grains were applied in the induction brazing experiment.The results showed geometric deformation of the brazed wheel was no more than 0.01 mm and chemical reaction layer were found on the brazed joint interface.Further validation tests were carried out by grinding of Ti-6 Al-4 V alloy.Compared to the electroplated wheel,the brazed wheel showed better performance such as low specific grinding energy and good ground quality in grinding of Ti-6 Al-4 V alloy.Abrasion wear was found to be the main failure mode for the induction brazed wheel,while adhesion and grains pull-out were the main failure mode for the electroplated wheel. | Qilin LI Kai DING Weining LEI Jiajia CHEN Qingshan HE Zhenzhen CHEN | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,4: | 2 |

| 20 | Influence of different illuminations with xenon or microwave sulfur lamp on jointing and tillering of wheat显示文摘The emission of microwave sulfur lamp is mainly composed of visible light. The sulfur lamp, producing little infrared radiation, has high efficiency, long duration of illumination and less energy consumption. In order to probe the agricultural application of the lamp, experiments were carried out with wheat (cv. Yangmai 158) to emphatically study illuminating effects of xenon or sulfur lamp on tillering, jointing and net photosynthetic rate during tillering and jointing periods. Results indicated that there is almost no difference in net photosynthetic rate of wheat leaves growing under different lamps. Xenon lamp significantly advanced the time of jointing, decreased number of tillers, number of total leaves per plant and leaf size, as well as inhibited root growth.
