3Ultrahigh-Q silicon racetrack resonators显示文摘An ultrahigh-Q silicon racetrack resonator is proposed and demonstrated with uniform multimode silicon photonic waveguides.It consists of two multimode straight waveguides connected by two multimode waveguide bends(MWBs).In particular,the MWBs are based on modified Euler curves,and a bent directional coupler is used to achieve the selective mode coupling for the fundamental mode and not exciting the higher-order mode in the racetrack.In this way,the fundamental mode is excited and propagates in the multimode racetrack resonator with ultralow loss and low intermode coupling.Meanwhile,it helps achieve a compact 180°bend to make a compact resonator with a maximized free spectral range(FSR).In this paper,for the chosen 1.6μm wide silicon photonic waveguide,the effective radius Reffof the designed 180°bend is as small as 29μm.The corresponding FSR is about 0.9 nm when choosing 260μm long straight waveguides in the racetrack.The present high-Q resonator is realized with a simple standard single-etching process provided by a multiproject wafer foundry.The fabricated device,which has a measured intrinsic Q-factor as high as 2.3×10~6,is the smallest silicon resonator with a>106Q-factor.LONG ZHANG LANLAN JIE MING ZHANG YI WANG YIWEI XIE YAOCHENG SHI DAOXIN DAI 2020Photonics Research2020,8,5:7
4Wavelength-selective 2 × 2 optical switch based on a Ge2Sb2Te5-assisted microring显示文摘A novel wavelength-selective 2×2 optical switch based on a Ge2Sb2Te5(GST)-assisted microring-resonator(MRR)is proposed.The present GST-assisted MRR consists of two access optical waveguides and an MRR coupled with a bent GST-loaded silicon photonic waveguide.The 2×2 optical switch is switched ON or OFF by modifying the GST state to be crystalline or amorphous.In particular,the microring waveguide and the bent GST-loaded waveguide are designed to satisfy the phase-matching condition when the GST is crystalline.As a result,the MRR becomes highly lossy and the resonance peak is depressed significantly.On the other hand,when it is off,there is little coupling due to the significant phase mismatching.Consequently,one has a low-loss transmission at the drop port for the resonance wavelength.In this paper,the simulation using the three-dimensional finite-difference method shows that the extinction ratio of the designed photonic switch is^20 d B at the resonance wavelength,while the excess losses at the through port and drop port are 0.9 d B and 2 d B.In particular,the resonance wavelength changes little between the ON and OFF states,which makes it suitable for multichannel wavelength-division-multiplexing systems.Changping Zhang Ming Zhang Yiwei Xie Yaocheng Shi Rajesh Kumar Roberto R.Panepucci Daoxin Dai 2020Photonics Research2020,8,7:3
5Clinical study of transcatheter occlusion in treating ventricular septal defect combined with right coronary cusp bulge显示文摘Background: Perimembranous ventricular septal defect combined with right coronary cusp bulge generally should be treated with surgical thoracotomy, owing to the potential aortic regurgitation. However, the minimally invasive method of transcatheter closure has always attracted the attention of cardiologists and patients. The present study aimed to apply transcatheter occlusion in treating ventricular septal defect with right coronary cusp bulge and further evaluate the clinical effect through follow-up. Materials and methods: A total of 40 children diagnosed as having a ventricular septal defect with right coronary cusp bulge, examined using transthoracic echocardiography and cardiovascular angiography, were enrolled in this study. The ventricular septal defects were closed by placing occluders through transcatheter occlusion treatment. During the operation process, the children underwent angiography and transthoracic echocardiography examinations to check the position of the occlude and the extent of aortic regurgitation. The influence of occlusion on the conduction system was evaluated using a surface electrocardiogram. The children were followed up after their procedures. Results: All 40 patients were immediately and successfully occluded. Three patients with filament residual shunts were observed during the operations. No major surgical complications occurred during the perioperative period. During the follow-up period, the positions of all the occluders were good, the residual shunts in the three patients disappeared, and no new or aggravated aortic regurgitation occurred. Electrocardiogram did not reveal any atrioventricular blocks. Only one patient suffered from an incomplete right bundle branch block. Conclusions: Children diagnosed with ventricular septal defect combined with right coronary cusp bulge could be considered for transcatheter occlusion. 9The S190R mutation in the hemagglutinin protein of pandemic H1N1 2009 influenza virus increased its pathogenicity in mice显示文摘Human influenza viruses preferentially bind to sialic acid-α2,6-galactose (SAα2,6Gal) receptors, which are predominant in human upper respiratory epithelia, whereas avian influenza viruses preferentially bind to SAα2,3Gal receptors. However, variants with amino acid substitutions around the receptor-binding sites of the hemagglutinin (HA) protein can be selected after several passages of human influenza viruses from patients’ respiratory samples in the allantoic cavities of embryonated chicken eggs. In this study, we detected an egg-adapted HA S190R mutation in the pandemic H1N1 virus 2009 (pdmH1N1), and evaluated the effects of this mutation on receptor binding affinity and pathogenicity in mice. Our results revealed that residue 190 is located within the pocket structure of the receptor binding site. The single mutation to arginine at position 190 slightly increased the binding affinity of the virus to the avian receptor and decreased its binding to the long human α2,6-linked sialic acid receptor. Our study demonstrated that the S190R mutation resulted in earlier death and higher weight loss in mice compared with the wild-type virus. 16Practice of improving the hot blast temperature for the 2500 m^3 BF显示文摘A high blast temperature is an effective measure that improves pulverized coal injection(PCI)and energy consumption,decreases the cost of blast furnaces(BF).Apart from using technology such as the increased vault temperature of the hot-blast stove,the increased temperature of the waste gas,the preheating of combustion air and gas, and fully closed mixed air valves,other measures,such as using an oxygen-enriched blast stove,burning high heating value converter gas,increasing the number of stove changes to reduce the time needed for stove blasts,were taken to increase the blast temperature of the 2500 m^3 BF in recent years.The blast temperature of the 2500 m^3 BF was continuously increased in these years.The monthly average temperature of the 2500 m^3 BF reached 1158℃,with the highest blast temperature reaching 1195℃in 2006.This technique of increased blast temperatures has reached an advanced level in China.Li Yiwei Shi Jian' en Bao Lei Wang Yi 2008Baosteel Technical Research2008,2,2:0
17Screening potential P-glycoprotein inhibitors by combination of a detergent-free membrane protein extraction with surface plasmon resonance biosensor显示文摘P-glycoprotein(P-gp)highly expressed in cancer cells can lead to multidrug resistance(MDR)and the combination of anti-cancer drugs with P-gp inhibitor has been a promising strategy to reverse MDR in cancer treatment.In this study,we established a label-free and detergent-free system combining surface plasmon resonance(SPR)biosensor with styrene maleic acid(SMA)polymer membrane proteins(MPs)stabilization technology to screen potential P-gp inhibitors.First,P-gp was extracted from MCF-7/ADR cells using SMA polymer to form SMA liposomes(SMALPs).Following that,SMALPs were immobilized on an SPR biosensor chip to establish a P-gp inhibitor screening system,and the affinity between P-gp and small molecule ligand was determined.The methodological investigation proved that the screening system had good specificity and stability.Nine P-gp ligands were screened out from 50 natural products,and their affinity constants with P-gp were also determined.The in vitro cell verification experiments demonstrated that tetrandrine,fangchinoline,praeruptorin B,neobaicalein,and icariin could significantly increase the sensitivity of MCF-7/ADR cells to Adriamycin(Adr).Moreover,tetrandrine,praeruptorin B,and neobaicalein could reverse MDR in MCF-7/ADR cells by inhibiting the function of P-gp.This is the first time that SMALPs-based stabilization strategy was applied to SPR analysis system.SMA polymer can retain P-gp in the environment of natural lipid bilayer and thus maintain the correct conformation and physiological functions of P-gp.The developed system can quickly and accurately screen small molecule ligands of complex MPs and obtain affinity between complex MPs and small molecule ligands without protein purification.Yuhong Cao Jiahao Fang Yiwei Shi Hui Wang Xiaofei Chen Yue Liu Zhenyu Zhu Yan Cao Zhanying Hong Yifeng Chai 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,7:0

20Dihydroartemisinin increased the abundance of Akkermansia muciniphila by YAP1 depression that sensitizes hepatocellular carcinoma to anti-PD-1 immunotherapy显示文摘The effect of anti-programmed cell death 1(anti-PD-1)immunotherapy is limited in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Yes-associated protein 1(YAP1)expression increased in liver tumor cells in early HCC,and Akkermansia muciniphila abundance decreased in the colon.The response to anti-PD-1 treatment is associated with A.muciniphila abundance in many tumors.However,the interaction between A.muciniphila abundance and YAP1 expression remains unclear in HCC.Here,anti-PD-1 treatment decreased A.muciniphila abundance in the colon,but increased YAP1 expression in the tumor cells by mice with liver tumors in situ.Mechanistically,hepatocyte-specific Yap1 knockout(Yap1^(LKO))maintained bile acid homeostasis in the liver,resulting in an increased abundance of A.muciniphila in the colon.Yap1 knockout enhanced anti-PD-1 efficacy.Therefore,YAP1 inhibition is a potential target for increasing A.muciniphila abundance to promote anti-PD-1 efficacy in liver tumors.Dihydroartemisinin(DHA),acting as YAP1 inhibitor,increased A.muciniphila abundance to sensitize anti-PD-1 therapy.A.muciniphila by gavage increased the number and activation of CD8^(+)T cells in liver tumor niches during DHA treatment or combination with anti-PD-1.Our findings suggested that the combination anti-PD-1 with DHA is an effective strategy for liver tumor treatment.Zhiqin Zhang Xinli Shi Jingmin Ji Yinglin Guo Qing Peng Liyuan Hao Yu Xue Yiwei Liu Caige Li Junlan Lu Kun Yu 2023Frontiers of Medicine2023,17,4:0
