1Climate and litter C/N ratio constrain soil organic carbon accumulation显示文摘Soil organic carbon(SOC) plays critical roles in stabilizing atmospheric CO2 concentration, but the mechanistic controls on the amount and distribution of SOC on global scales are not well understood. In turn, this has hampered the ability to model global C budgets and to find measures to mitigate climate change. Here, based on the data from a large field survey campaign with 2600 plots across China’s forest ecosystems and a global collection of published data from forested land, we find that a low litter carbon-to-nitrogen ratio(C/N) and high wetness index(P/PET, precipitation-to-potentialevapotranspiration ratio) are the two factors that promote SOC accumulation, with only minor contributions of litter quantity and soil texture. The field survey data demonstrated that high plant diversity decreased litter C/N and thus indirectly promoted SOC accumulation by increasing the litter quality. We conclude that any changes in plant-community composition, plant-species richness and environmental factors that can reduce the litter C/N ratio, or climatic changes that increase wetness index, may promote SOC accumulation. 2Sialic acid-engineered mesoporous polydopamine nanoparticles loaded with SPIO and Fe3+as a novel theranostic agent for T1/T2 dual-mode MRI-guided combined chemo-photothermal treatment of hepatic cancer显示文摘diagnostic and therapeutic capability are highly needed for the treatment of hepatic cancer.Herein,we aimed to develop a novel mesoporous polydopamine(MPDA)-based theranostic agent for T1/T2 dual magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)-guided cancer chemo-photothermal therapy.Superparamagnetic iron oxide(SPIO)-loaded MPDA NPs(MPDA@SPIO)was firstly prepared,followed by modifying with a targeted molecule of sialic acid(SA)and chelating with Fe^(3+)(SA-MPDA@SPIO/Fe^(3+) NPs).After that,doxorubicin(DOX)-loaded SA-MPDA@SPIO/Fe^(3+) NPs(SA-MPDA@SPIO/DOX/Fe^(3+))was prepared for tumor theranostics.The prepared SAPEG-MPDA@SPIO/Fe^(3+) NPs were water-dispersible and biocompatible as evidenced by MTT assay.In vitro photothermal and relaxivity property suggested that the novel theranostic agent possessed excellent photothermal conversion capability and photostability,with relaxivity of being r1=4.29 mM��1s��1 and r2=105.53 mM��1s��1,respectively.SAPEG-MPDA@SPIO/Fe^(3+) NPs could effectively encapsulate the DOX,showing dual pH-and thermal-triggered drug release behavior.In vitro and in vivo studies revealed that SA-MPDA@SPIO/DOX/Fe^(3+) NPs could effectively target to the hepatic tumor tissue,which was possibly due to the specific interaction between SA and the overexpressed E-selectin.This behavior also endowed SA-MPDA@SPIO/DOX/Fe^(3+)NPs with a more precise T1-T2 dual mode contrast imaging effect than the one without SA modification.In addition,SAPEG-MPDA@SPIO/DOX/Fe^(3+) NPs displayed a superior therapeutic effect,which was due to its active targeting ability and combined effects of chemotherapy and photothermal therapy.These results demonstrated that SAPEG-MPDA@SPIO/DOX/Fe^(3+) NPs is an effective targeted nanoplatform for tumor theranostics,having potential value in the effective treatment of hepatic cancer.Gaofeng Shu Minjiang Chen Jingjing Song Xiaoling Xu Chenying Lu Yuyin Du Min Xu Zhongwei Zhao Minxia Zhu Kai Fan Xiaoxi Fan Shiji Fang Bufu Tang Yiyang Dai Yongzhong Du Jiansong Ji 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,5:4
3Optical Microfber Neuron for Finger Motion Perception显示文摘To achieve dexterous motion controlling of robot,the sensors that function like human neurons for motion perception are essential.In this work,a silica microfber probe-based optical neuron(MPON)for robot fnger motion detection is proposed.The silica microfber probe was fabricated by snapping a biconical silica optical microfber that drawn from the standard optical fbre.Then it was embedded into thin polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)to detect and recognize motions of robotic fnger.Specifcally,a PDMS-Tefon-Microfber-Tefon-PDMS composite structure was prepared to protect the waveguide structure of silica microfber probe and avoid the environmental pollution.With the help of this composite structure,the proposed MPON achieved the accurate measurement of bending angle with large range and fast response.The repeatability and stability of MPON were also investigated.Additionally,diferent fnger motions were successfully distinguished through observing the output power variation of MPON.The proposed MPON could serve as the perceptron of robot hand,which could be applied in dexterous gesture control even human machine interaction.Yanpeng Li Shijie Tan Liuyang Yang Liangye Li Fang Fang Qizhen Sun 2022Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,2:3
4Engineering carbon nanocatalysts towards efficient degradation of emerging organic contaminants via persulfate activation:A review显示文摘The engineering of carbon nanocatalysts for the persulfate activated elimination of emerging organic contaminants(EOCs)demonstrates promising potential compared with metal-based counterparts due to their unique advantage of high stability and low toxicity.The early reviews introduced the theoretical background of persulfate activation together with a detailed summary of different mechanisms responsible for degradation of EOCs.To further unify the state of knowledge,identify the research gaps,and prompt new research in this area,we present a thorough review on current trends in research on metal-free carbon nanocatalysts(e.g.,0D nanodiamond,1D carbon nanotubes and carbon nanofibers,2D graphene and graphitic carbon nitride,and 3D carbon nanocatalysts),with emphasis on their applications in persulfate activation and EOCs decontamination.We also discuss the current challenges and future perspectives in practically relevant applications.Last,we highlight that the development of sustainable carbon nanocatalysts/persulfate systems lies at the interface of multiple disciplines,which calls for future in-depth interdisciplinary collaborations.Dongli Guo Shijie You Fang Li Yanbiao Liu 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,1:2
5Rapid estimation of soil heavy metal nickel content based on optimized screening of near-infrared spectral bands显示文摘In near-infrared spectroscopy,the traditional feature band extraction method has certain limitations.Therefore,a band extraction method named the three-step extraction method was proposed.This method combines characteristic absorption bands and correlation coefficients to select characteristic bands corresponding to various spectral forms and then uses stepwise regression to eliminate meaningless variables.Partial least squares regression(PLSR)and extreme learning machine(ELM)models were used to verify the effect of the band extraction method.Results show that the differential transformation of the spectrum can effectively improve the correlation between the spectrum and nickel(Ni)content.Most correlation coefficients were above 0.7 and approximately 20%higher than those of other transformation methods.The model effect established by the feature variable selection method based on comprehensive spectral transformation is only slightly affected by the spectral transformation form.Infive types of spectral transformation,the RPD values of the proposed method were all within the same level.The RPD values of the PLSR model were concentrated between 1.6 and 1.8,and those of the ELM model were between 2.5 and2.9,indicating that this method is beneficial for extracting more complete spectral features.The combination of the three-step extraction method and ELM algorithm can effectively retain important bands associated with the Ni content of the soil.The model based on the spectral band selected by the three-step extraction method has better prediction ability than the other models.The ELM model of the first-order differential transformation has the best prediction accuracy(RP^2=0.923,RPD=3.634).The research results provide some technical support for monitoring heavy metal content spectrum in local soils.Qian Lu Shijie Wang Xiaoyong Bai Fang Liu Shiqi Tian Mingming Wang Jinfeng Wang 2020Acta Geochimica2020,39,1:2

8Recent advances in antimony removal using carbon-based nanomaterials:A review显示文摘Recently,special attention has been deserved to environmental risks of antimony(Sb)element that is of highly physiologic toxicity to human.Conventional coagulation and ion exchange methods for Sb removal are faced with challenges of low efficiency,high cost and secondary pollution.Adsorption based on carbon nanomaterials(CNMs;e.g.,carbon nanotubes,graphene,graphene oxide,reduced graphene oxide and their derivatives)may provide effective alternative because the CNMs have high surface area,rich surface chemistry and high stability.In particular,good conductivity makes it possible to create linkage between adsorption and electrochemistry,thereby the synergistic interaction will be expected for enhanced Sb removal.This review article summarizes the state of art on Sb removal using CNMs with the form of nano-adsorbents and/or filtration membranes.In details,procedures of synthesis and functionalization of different forms of CNMs were reviewed.Next,adsorption behavior and the underlying mechanisms toward Sb removal using various CNMs were presented as resulting from a retrospective analysis of literatures.Last,we prospect the needs for mass production and regeneration of CNMs adsorbents using more affordable precursors and objective assessment of environmental impacts in future studies.Xuemei Hu Shijie You Fang Li Yanbiao Liu 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,4:1

12Low-Complexity Detection and Decoding Scheme for LDPC-Coded MLC NAND Flash Memory显示文摘With the development of manufacture technology, the multi-level cell(MLC)technique dramatically increases the storage density of NAND flash memory. As the result,cell-to-cell interference(CCI) becomes more serious and hence causes an increase in the raw bit error rate of data stored in the cells.Recently, low-density parity-check(LDPC)codes have appeared to be a promising solution to combat the interference of MLC NAND flash memory. However, the decoding complexity of the sum-product algorithm(SPA) is extremely high. In this paper, to improve the accuracy of the log likelihood ratio(LLR) information of each bit in each NAND flash memory cell, we adopt a non-uniform detection(N-UD) which uses the average maximum mutual information to determine the value of the soft-decision reference voltages.Furthermore, with an aim to reduce the decoding complexity and improve the decoding performance, we propose a modified soft reliabilitybased iterative majority-logic decoding(MSRBI-MLGD) algorithm, which uses a non-uniform quantizer based on power function to decode LDPC codes. 13Characterization of electrode fouling during electrochemical oxidation of phenolic pollutant显示文摘Electrode fouling is a problem that commonly occurs during electro-oxidation water purification.This study focused on identifying the fouling behavior of Pt electrode associated with the formation of polymeric layer during electro-oxidation of phenol.The in situ electrochemical measurements and non-destructive observation of the electrode morphology were reported.The results demonstrated that the electrode fouling was highly dependent on thermodynamic process of electrode that was controlled by anode potential.At anode potential lower than 1.0 V vs SHE,the direct electro-oxidation caused the electrode fouling by the formation of polymeric film.The fouling layer decreased the electrochemically active surface area from 8.38 cm^(2)to 1.57 cm^(2),indicated by the formation of polymeric film with thickness of 2.3µm,increase in mass growing at a rate of 3.26µg/cm^(2)/min.The degree to which the anode was fouled was independent of anion in the electrolyte.In comparison,at anode potential higher than 2.7 V vs SHE,the anions(e.g.,chloride)could exert a major influence to the behavior of electrode fouling.The presence of chloride was shown to mitigate the fouling of electrode significantly through preventing the formation of polymeric film by active chlorine(e.g.,Cl•and Cl_(2))produced from anodic oxidation of chloride.Since chloride is the most abundant anionic species existing in both natural and engineered water system,this study not only offers a deep insight into the mechanism of electrode fouling,but also suggests strategies for anti-fouling in the presence of chloride in electro-oxidation process.Xuefeng Liu Shijie You Fang Ma Hao Zhou 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,4:1

16Oxidative stress-triggered Wnt signaling perturbation characterizes the tipping point of lung adeno-to-squamous transdifferentiation显示文摘Lkb1 deficiency confers the Kras-mutant lung cancer with strong plasticity and the potential for adeno-to-squamous transdifferentiation(AST).However,it remains largely unknown how Lkb1 deficiency dynamically regulates AST.Using the classical AST mouse model(Kras LSL-G12D/+;Lkb1flox/flox,KL),we here comprehensively analyze the temporal transcriptomic dynamics of lung tumors at different stages by dynamic network biomarker(DNB)and identify the tipping point at which the Wnt signaling is abruptly suppressed by the excessive accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS)through its downstream effector FOXO3A.Bidirectional genetic perturbation of the Wnt pathway using two different Ctnnb1 conditional knockout mouse strains confirms its essential role in the negative regulation of AST.Importantly,pharmacological activation of the Wnt pathway before but not after the tipping point inhibits squamous transdifferentiation,highlighting the irreversibility of AST after crossing the tipping point.Through comparative transcriptomic analyses of mouse and human tumors,we find that the lineage-specific transcription factors(TFs)of adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma form a“Yin-Yang”counteracting network.Interestingly,inactivation of the Wnt pathway preferentially suppresses the adenomatous lineage TF network and thus disrupts the“Yin-Yang”homeostasis to lean towards the squamous lineage,whereas ectopic expression of NKX2-1,an adenomatous lineage TF,significantly dampens such phenotypic transition accelerated by the Wnt pathway inactivation.The negative correlation between the Wnt pathway and AST is further observed in a large cohort of human lung adenosquamous carcinoma.Collectively,our study identifies the tipping point of AST and highlights an essential role of the ROS-Wnt axis in dynamically orchestrating the homeostasis between adeno-and squamous-specific TF networks at the AST tipping point.Zhaoyuan Fang Xiangkun Han Yueqing Chen Xinyuan Tong Yun Xue Shun Yao Shijie Tang Yunjian Pan Yihua Sun Xue Wang Yujuan Jin Haiquan Chen Liang Hu Lijian Hui Lin Li Luonan Chen Hongbin Ji 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,2:0

19Improvement Strategies of Flood Control Landscape in Suburban Villages and Towns from the Perspective of Aquaphilia and Livability显示文摘In the context of urban and rural integrated development, many suburban villages and towns are still threatened by both urbanization and natural disasters. In order to explore the improvement strategies of flood control landscape integrating water ecology, water safety, water culture and water landscape, the Luozhou Ancient Town by the Wulong River in Fuzhou City was taken as an example, and the concept of pluralistic symbiosis from the perspective of aquaphilia and livability was proposed through field investigation, data monitoring, site analysis and planning, that is, while retaining the positive attributes of “boundary”, its negative limitation of “pluralistic” space is broken, so as to establish a pluralistic and symbiotic environment with aquaphilia and livability.
