1D(β)-vertex-distinguishing total coloring of graphs显示文摘A new concept of the D(β)-vertex-distinguishing total coloring of graphs, i.e., the proper total coloring such that any two vertices whose distance is not larger than β have different color sets, where the color set of a vertex is the set composed of all colors of the vertex and the edges incident to it, is proposed in this paper. 2Optically pumped terahertz sources显示文摘High-power terahertz(THz) generation in the frequency range of 0.1-10 THz has been a fast-developing research area ever since the beginning of the THz boom two decades ago, enabling new technological breakthroughs in spectroscopy, communication, imaging,etc. By using optical(laser) pumping methods with near-or mid-infrared(IR) lasers, flexible and practical THz sources covering the whole THz range can be realized to overcome the shortage of electronic THz sources and now they are playing important roles in THz science and technology. This paper overviews various optically pumped THz sources, including femtosecond laser based ultrafast broadband THz generation, monochromatic widely tunable THz generation, single-mode on-chip THz source from photomixing, and the traditional powerful THz gas lasers. Full descriptions from basic principles to the latest progress are presented and their advantages and disadvantages are discussed as well. 3Effect of wastewater composition on the calcium carbonate precipitation in upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactors显示文摘Calcium carbonate often precipitates in anaerobic reactors treating wastewater with high calcium content.The aim of this paper is to study the effect of wastewater composition on calcium carbonate precipitation in upflow anaerobic sludge blanket(UASB)reactors.Two laboratory-scale UASB reactors were operated with calcium-containing influents using acetate and carbohydrate as substrate,respectively.There was an obvious accumulation of inorganic precipitate observed in the biogranules.Observations via scanning electron microscope(SEM)and energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS)showed that the acclimated biogranules in the two reactors differed in microstructure.Calcium carbonate was found to have precipitated on the surface of acetate-degrading biogranules,but precipitated at the core of the carbohydrate-degrading biogranules.The results indicated that substrates had significant influence on the location of calcium carbonate precipitation in anaerobic granular sludge,which was expected due to the different methanogens distribution and pH gradient within the granular sludge degrading various substrates.Moreover,the location of calcium carbonate precipitation substantially affected the specific methanogenic activity(SMA)of the granular sludge.The SMA of the acetate-degrading biogranules dropped from 1.96 gCODCH4·gVSS^(–1)·d^(–1)to 0.61 gCODCH4·gVSS^(–1)·d^(–1)after 180-d of operation in the reactor.However,the SMA of the carbohydrate-degrading biogranules was not adversely affected by calcium carbonate precipitation.Shucheng YANG Yanling HE Yonghong LIU Charles CHOU Pengxiang ZHANG Dongqi WANG 2010Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2010,4,2:6
4Anti-PD-L1/TGF-BR fusion protein (SHR-1701) overcomes disrupted lymphocyte recovery-induced resistance to PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors in lung cancer显示文摘Background:Second-generation programmed cell death-protein 1/pro-grammed death-ligand 1(PD-1/PD-L1)inhibitors,such as bintrafusp alfa(M7824),SHR-1701,and YM101,have been developed to simultaneously block PD-1/PD-L1 and transforming growth factor-beta/transforming growth factor-beta receptor(TGF-P/TGF-βR).Consequently,it is necessary to identify predictive factors of lung cancer patients who are not only resistant to PD-1/PD-LI inhibitors but also sensitive to bifunctional drugs.The purpose of this study was to search for such predictors.Methods:Multivariable Cox regression was used to study the association between the clinical outcome of treatment with PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors and lym-phocyte recovery after lymphopenia in lung cancer patients.Murine CMT167 lung cancer cells were engineered to express the firefly luciferase gene and implanted orthotopically in the lung of syngeneic mice.Bioluminescence imag-ing,flow cytometry,and immunohistochemistry were employed to detrmine response to immunotherapy and function of tumor-infiltrating immune cells.Results:For lung cancer patients treated with anti-PD-1/PD-LI antibodies,poor lymphocyte recovery was associated with a shorter progression-free survival(PFS;P<0.001),an accumulation of regulatory T cells(Tregs),and an elimi-nation of CD8+T cells in the peripheral blood.Levels of CD8+T cells and Treg cells were also imbalanced in the tumors and peripheral immune organs of mice with poor lymphocyte recovery after chemotherapy.Moreover,these mice failed to respond to anti-PD-1 antibodies but remained sensitive to the anti-PD-LI/TGF-βR fusion protein(SHR-1701).Consistently,SHR-1701 but not anti-PD-1 antibod-ies,markedly enhanced IFN-γproduction and Ki-67 expression in peripheral CD8+T cells from patients with impaired lymphocyte recovery.Conclusions:Lung cancer patients with poor lymphocyte recovery and suffer-ing from persistent lymphopenia after previous chemotherapy are resistant to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies but might be sensitive to second-generation agents such as SHR-1701.Bo Cheng Kaikai Ding Pengxiang Chen Jianxiong Ji Tao Luo Xiaofan Guo Wei Qiu Chunhong Ma Xue Meng Jian Wang Jinming Yu Yuan Liu 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,1:5
5High-average-power, high-repetition-rate tunable terahertz difference frequency generation with GaSe crystal pumped by 2 μm dual-wavelength intracavity KTP optical parametric oscillator显示文摘We have demonstrated a high-average-power,high-repetition-rate optical terahertz(THz)source based on difference frequency generation(DFG)in the GaSe crystal by using a near-degenerate 2μm intracavity KTP optical parametric oscillator as the pump source.The power of the 2μm dual-wavelength laser was up to 12.33 W with continuous tuning ranges of 1988.0–2196.2 nm/2278.4–2065.6 nm for two waves.Different GaSe cystal lengths have been experimentally investigated for the DFG THz source in order to optimize the THz output power,which was in good agreement with the theoretical analysis.Based on an 8 mm long GaSe crystal,the THz wave was continuously tuned from 0.21 to 3 THz.The maximum THz average power of 1.66μW was obtained at repetition rate of 10 kHz under 1.48 THz.The single pulse energy amounted to 166 pJ and the conversion efficiency from 2 μm laser to THz output was 1.68×10^(-6).The signal-to-noise ratio of the detected THz voltage was 23 dB.The acceptance angle of DFG in the GaSe crystal was measured to be 0.16°.DEXIAN YAN YUYE WANG DEGANG XU PENGXIANG LIU CHAO YAN JIA SHI HONGXIANG LIU YIXIN HE LONGHUANG TANG JIANCHEN FENG JIANQIN GUO WEI SHI KAI ZHONG YUEN H.TSANG JIANQUAN YAO 2017Photonics Research2017,5,2:5
6Apple SERRATE negatively mediates drought resistance by regulating MdMYB88 and MdMYB124 and microRNA biogenesis显示文摘The function of serrate(SE)in miRNA biogenesis in Arabidopsis is well elucidated,whereas its role in plant drought resistance is largely unknown.In this study,we report that MdSE acts as a negative regulator of apple(Malus×domestica)drought resistance by regulating the expression levels of MdMYB88 and MdMYB124 and miRNAs,including mdm-miR156,mdm-miR166,mdm-miR172,mdm-miR319,and mdm-miR399.MdSE interacts with MdMYB88 and MdMYB124,two positive regulators of apple drought resistance.MdSE decreases the transcript and protein levels of MdMYB88 and MdMYB124,which directly regulate the expression of MdNCED3,a key enzyme in abscisic acid(ABA)biosynthesis.Furthermore,MdSE is enriched in the same region of the MdNECD3 promoter where MdMYB88/MdMYB124 binds.Consistently,MdSE RNAi transgenic plants are more sensitive to ABA-induced stomatal closure,whereas MdSE OE plants are less sensitive.In addition,under drought stress,MdSE is responsible for the biogenesis of mdm-miR399,a negative regulator of drought resistance,and negatively regulates miRNAs,including mdm-miR156,mdm-miR166,mdm-miR172,and mdm-miR319,which are positive regulators of drought resistance.Taken together,by revealing the negative role of MdSE,our results broaden our understanding of the apple drought response and provide a candidate gene for apple drought improvement through molecular breeding.Xuewei Li Pengxiang Chen Yinpeng Xie Yan Yan Liping Wang Huan Dang Jing Zhang Lingfei Xu Fengwang Ma Qingmei Guan 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:4

8Mechanism of variations in environmental magnetic proxies of lake sediments from Nam Co, Tibet during the Holocene显示文摘High-resolution environmental records from the Tibetan Plateau are essential to understand past global climatic and environmental changes. Magnetic minerals in lake sediments are important proxies to reconstruct environmental and climatic changes. Nam Co (lake) is a typical great lake in the transitional region of southwest monsoon in the Tibetan Plateau. Previous studies have extensively focused on geochemistry, microfossils, sedimentology and biochemistry analysis of Nam Co, which provides sound interpretation of paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental changes. However, up to now, no systematic environmental magnetic studies have been carried out. Therefore, high-resolution and systematic magnetic studies combined with geochemical parameters were carried on lake sediments of core NC 08/01 from Nam Co for the Holocene period (11.3 cal ka BP) in order to explore how magnetic properties of the sediments respond to climatic changes. Based on variations of magnetic proxies, the sequence can be separated into 3 units. Unit 1 (236-199 cm, 11.3-7.8 cal ka BP) contains dominantly coarse-grained magnetite with homogeneous grain size. A positive correlation between magnetite and Ti strongly suggests that these coarse-grained detrital magnetites reflect detrital input signals due to insignificant effects of postdepositional dissolution processes on these coarse-grained magnetite particles. For Unit 2 (198-102 cm, 7.8-2.1 cal ka BP), magnetic grain size is finer and the corresponding concentration of magnetite is also reduced. This is mainly due to significant dissolution of these fine-grained detrital magnetite particles, which were transported under reduced water flow conditions during this period. For Unit 3 (101-0 cm, 2.1-0 cal ka BP), the bulk magnetic properties are dominated by a mixture of single domain biogenic magnetite and detrital magnetite. The concentration of magnetic minerals is not correlated with the Ti content. In conclusion, the preservation of magnetic minerals in the lake sediment and thus the corresponding magnetic properties are related to the initial grain size. Combination of magnetic properties (including variation of grain size and concentration) and other proxies of detrital inputs (e.g. Ti) can be used to infer the variation of redox conditions in Nam Co. 12Modeling Tracer Flow Characteristics in Different Types of Pores: Visualization and Mathematical Modeling显示文摘Structure of porous media and fluid distribution in rocks can significantly affect the transport characteristics during the process of microscale tracer flow.To clarify the effect of micro heterogeneity on aqueous tracer transport,this paper demonstrates microscopic experiments at pore level and proposes an improved mathematical model for tracer transport.The visualization results show a faster tracer movement into movable water than it into bound water,and quicker occupancy in flowing pores than in storage pores caused by the difference of tracer velocity.Moreover,the proposed mathematical model includes the effects of bound water and flowing porosity by applying interstitial flow velocity expression.The new model also distinguishes flowing and storage pores,accounting for different tracer transport mechanisms(dispersion,diffusion and adsorption)in different types of pores.The resulting analytical solution better matches with tracer production data than the standard model.The residual sum of squares(RSS)from the new model is 0.0005,which is 100 times smaller than the RSS from the standard model.The sensitivity analysis indicates that the dispersion coefficient and flowing porosity shows a negative correlation with the tracer breakthrough time and the increasing slope,whereas the superficial velocity and bound water saturation show a positive correlation.Tongjing Liu Weixia Liu Pengxiang Diwu Gaixing Hu TingXu Yuqi Li Zhenjiang You Runwei Qiao Jia Wang 2020Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2020,,6:1

17Impact of the variation of westerly jets over East Asia on precipitation of eastern China in July显示文摘The impact of the northward jump and westward movement of the East Asian westerly jet core from the western Pacific Ocean to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau on precipitation distribution of eastern China is studied. It is concluded that on the one hand, the northward jump of the jet causes the precipitation belt to move northward from the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River valley and withdraw during the Mei-yu season; on the other hand, the westward movement of the jet core has no correspondence with withdrawal of the Mei-yu season. However, the earlier or later occurrence of the westward movement of the jet has an influence on the process of the rain belt moving northward than the northward jump of the jet: the rain belt moves northward from the middle-lower Yangtze River valley to the Huaihe River and then to an area between the Yellow River and Huaihe River during years when the time of the westward movement of the jet core is later than that of the northward jump of the jet and from the middle-lower Yangtze River valley to an area between the Yellow River and Huaihe River in other years. Further analysis shows that: (1) The northward jump of the jet and the westward movement of the East Asian westerly jet core causes significant variation of the general atmospheric circulation in middle latitudes and water vapor transport from the western Pacific, but not from the Bay of Bengal. (2) Impact of the northward jump and the westward movement of the East Asian westerly jet core on circulation are different, therefore, water vapor transport from the western Pacific and its impact on the rain belt are different. 18Nanoporous Au-Sn with solute strain for simultaneously enhanced selectivity and durability during electrochemical CO2 reduction显示文摘Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction meditated by metallic catalysts suffers from restricted selectivity and competition from hydrogen evolution, which sensitively depends on ambiguous contributions of alloying and strain state in bimetallic catalysts. Herein, nanoporous Au-Sn(NPAS) containing trace tin solute in Au lattices is delicately designed to convince real strain effect, while eliminating other undesirable factors, such as alloying, crystal facets and surface composition. Compared with nanoporous gold(NPG), the NPAS with a solute strain of ~2.2% enables more efficient CO2-to-CO conversion, with an efficiency as high as 92% at-0.85 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(vs. RHE), and the high activity can retain for more than 8 h. The combination of HRTEM and surface valence band photoemission spectra reveals that the tensile strain on the surface of 3 D nanoporous structure promotes the catalytic activity by shifting up the d-band center and strengthening the adsorption of key intermediate *COOH. 19The long non-coding RNA DANA2 positively regulates drought tolerance by recruitingERF84 to promote JMJ29-mediated histone demethylation显示文摘Tens of thousands of long non-coding RNAs have been uncovered in plants,but few of them have been comprehensively studied for their biological function and molecular mechanism of their mode of action.Here,we show that the Arabidopsis long non-coding RNA DANA2 interacts with an AP2/ERF transcription factor ERF84 in the cell nucleus and then affects the transcription of JMJ29 that encodes a Jumonji C domain-containing histone H3K9 demethylase.Both RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)and genetic analyses demonstrate that DANA2 positively regulates drought stress responses through JMJ29.JMJ29 positively regulates the expression of ERF15 and GOLS2 by modulation of H3K9me2 demethylation.Accordingly,mutation of JMJ29 causes decreased ERF15 and GOLS2 expression,resulting in impaired drought tolerance,in agreement with drought-sensitive phenotypes of dana2 and erf84 mutants.Taken together,these results demonstrate that DANA2 is a positive regulator of drought response and works jointly with the transcriptional activator ERF84 to modulate JMJ29 expression in plant response to drought.Pengxiang Zhang Reqing He Jun Yang Jingjing Cai Zhipeng Qu Rongxin Yang Jinbao Gu Zhen-Yu Wang David LAdelson Youlin Zhu Xiaofeng Cao Dong Wang 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,8:0
20Fabrication of layered structure VS4 anchor in 3D graphene aerogels as a new cathode material for lithium ion batteries显示文摘VS4 has gained more and more attention for its high theoretical capacity (449 mAh/g with 3e^- transfer) in lithium ion batteries (LIBs). Herein, a layered structure VS4 anchored in graphene aerogels is prepared and first reported as cathode material for LIBs.
