| 1 | Adsorption of 17β-estradiol from aqueous solution by raw and direct/pre/post-KOH treated lotus seedpod biochar显示文摘Five biochars derived from lotus seedpod(LSP)were applied to examine and compare the adsorption capacity of 17β-estradiol(E2)from aqueous solution.The effect of KOH activation and the order of activation steps on material properties were discussed.The effect of contact time,initial concentration,p H,ionic strength and humic acid on E2 adsorption were investigated in a batch adsorption process.Experimental results demonstrated that the pseudo second-order model fitted the experimental data best and that adsorption equilibrium was reached within 20 hr.The efficiency of E2 removal increased with increasing E2 concentration and decreased with the increase of ionic strength.E2 adsorption on LSP-derived biochar(BCs)was influenced little by humic acid,and slightly affected by the solution p H when its value ranged from 4.0 to 9.0,but considerably affected at p H 10.0.Low environmental temperature is favorable for E2 adsorption.Chemisorption,π–πinteractions,monolayer adsorption and electrostatic interaction are the possible adsorption mechanisms.Comparative studies indicated that KOH activation and the order of activation steps had significant impacts on the material.Post-treated biochar exhibited better adsorption capacity for E2 than direct treated,pretreated,and raw LSP biochar.Pyrolyzed biochar at higher temperature improved E2 removal.The excellent performance of BCs in removing E2 suggested that BCs have potential in E2 treatment and that the biochar directly treated by KOH would be a good choice for the treatment of E2 in aqueous solution,with its advantages of good efficiency and simple technology. | Ni Liu Yunguo Liu Guangming Zeng Jilai Gong Xiaofei Tan Jun Wen Shaobo Liu Luhua Jiang Meifang Li Zhihong Yin | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1: | 4 |

| 3 | An animal model of cerebral palsy induced by prenatal exposure to lipopolysaccharide and hypoxia显示文摘BACKGROUND:Neonatal cerebral palsy is mainly caused by prenatal factors.At present, an animal model of prenatal infection and early postnatal hypoxia does not exist.OBJECTIVE:To observe morphology and motor performance following prenatal infection and hypoxic insult-induced brain damage of neonatal rats to verify the feasibility to establish a model of cerebral palsy.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING:A randomized, controlled, animal experiment was performed at the Laboratories of Xinjiang Center for Disease Control and Prevention from September 2007 to June 2008.MATERIALS:The hypoxic incubator was purchased from Shanghai Pediatric Medical Institute, China.Lipopolysaccharide (LPS, Escherichia coli, O55:B5) was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St.Louis, MO, USA).METHODS:A total of 27 Wistar rats, aged 7 days, were randomly assigned to sham-surgery group (n=15) with no carotid artery incision or hypoxia treatment, hypoxia/ischemia (H/I) group (n=12) undergoing ligature of the right common carotid artery followed by exposure to hypoxia at postnatal day 7 (P7), and LPS/H group (n=19), in which pregnant rats were exposed in utero to LPS followed by prenatal hypoxia at embryonic day 16.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Behavior, compound muscle action potential, and pathological changes were observed in 28-day-old rats.RESULTS:The footprint repeat space showed that left limb footprint repeatability in the H/I and LPS/H groups was lower than in the sham-surgery group (P<0.05).The space between the footprints was larger and unstable.Hind limb quadricep compound muscle action potential in the H/I and LPS/H groups showed lower wave amplitude compared with the sham-surgery group (P<0.05).Hematoxylin and eosin staining showed irregular cells around the ventricle, as well as periventricular leukomalacia.CONCLUSION:An animal model of cerebral palsy was established, which simulated the human condition most likely associated with occurrence of this disease.This model could be used for experimental studies related to cerebral palsy. | Gang Chen Yanrong HU Wei Liu Jiang Li Linbao Wen Jianxin Li Lihui Zhao Xiaopeng Yang Yi Zhu Zhenzhu Sun Guangming Chi | 2010 | Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,14: | 4 |
| 4 | A mathematical modeling study of the HIV epidemics at two rural townships in the Liangshan Prefecture of the Sichuan Province of China显示文摘Background:As a response to a severe HIV epidemic in the Liangshan Prefecture,one of the worst in China,population based HIV interventions,including two population-wide HIV screening,have been carried out since 2005 at two townships in a remote mountainous region of Liangshan.The objective of our mathematical modeling study is to assess the temporal dynamics of the HIV epidemic in the two townships based on the data collected in the study area during the period 2005e2010.Methods:A mathematical model was set up to describe the population dynamics of HIV transmission in study area.The model was calibrated by fitting it to the HIV testing and treatment data from 2005 to 2008.Validation of the model was done by comparing its predicted value of HIV prevalence in 2010 to the prevalence data obtained in the 2010 population wide HIV testing.The validated model was used to produce estimation of HIV incidence,prevalence and death.Results:Our model estimations show that population-based HIV interventions have significantly slowed down the rise of the HIV epidemic in the two townships.Over the five-year period from 2005 to 2010,the year-over-year rate of increase in HIV incidence,prevalence,and death has declined by 91.5%,28.7%,and 52.3%,respectively.Conclusion:Mathematical models,when integrated with epidemiological and surveillance data,can be an effective tool for predicting the temporal dynamics of HIV and assessing the impacts of HIV interventions. | Zhimin Su Caiting Dong Ping Li Hongxia Deng Yuhan Gong Shiyong Zhong Min Wu Yuhua Ruan Guangming Qin Wen Yang Yiming Shao Michael Li | 2016 | Infectious Disease Modelling2016,1,1: | 2 |
| 5 | Biosensing strategy based on photocurrent quenching of quantum dots via energy resonance absorption显示文摘A new concept of energy resonance absorption for photocurrent quenching was proposed using a system of quantum dots(QDs) and the matched dye. The QDs were used as the photocurrent producer, and the dye had an absorption band overlapped with that of the QDs, which led to the resonance absorption of the excitation energy and thus decreased the photocurrent of QDs. By using porphyrin and fluorscein isothiocyanate isomer I as the resonance absorption dyes, the proposed mechanism was proved by UV-Vis spectra, photoluminescence spectra and photocurrent-to-wavelength response, respectively. The interaction of the absorption-matched dye with biomolecule could be conveniently used to introduce it into the photocurrent quenching system, leading to a simple switch-off biosensing method for detection of the biomolecule. As example, a label-free method was proposed for photoelectrochemical detection of target DNA. This method showed a detection range from 6.0 to 600 nmol/L with a detection limit of 2.5 nmol/L. | 18 | Identification of diverse novel genomoviruses in gut of wild birds显示文摘Genomoviridae is a virus family belonging to circular replication associated protein encoding ssDNA(CRESS-DNA)viruses,which have diverse genomic architecture and are widely distributed among different ecosystems.In this study,we characterized 39 novel genomovirus genomes including 3 from wild egrets,9 from wild cranes,as well as 27 from wild finches in three different types of cloacal swabs of wild bird sampled in the station of Xinqing bird ringing,Maoershan Nature Reserve in Heilongjiang Province,Changbai Mountain in Jilin Province,and Hangzhou Wetland Park in Zhejiang Province,China.Here,using a Rep sequence phylogeny-based analysis,we divided the 39 genomoviruses into 8 genera within the family Genomoviridae,including Gemycircularvirus(n=20),Gemykibivirus(n=3),Gemygorvirus(n=2),Gemyvongvirus(n=2),Gemykolovirus(n=3),Gemykrogvirus(n=6),Gemytondvirus(n=1),Gemyduguivirus(n=1)and one unclassified genomovirus.The 39 genomovirus genomes belong to 36 species(27 of which are new)based on the currently accepted genomovirus pairwise nucleotide sequence identity species demarcation threshold of 78%.Overall,the research enriches our knowledge of CRESS-DNA viral diversity in China and emphasizes the prevalence of genomoviruses in nature. | Yuxin Yao Haisheng Wu Guangming Sun Shixing Yang Quan Shen Xiaochun Wang Wen Zhang | 2021 | Biosafety and Health2021,3,3: | 0 |
| 19 | Data processing of the Kuiyang-ST2000 deep-towed high-resolution multichannel seismic system and application to South China Sea data显示文摘The Kuiyang-ST2000 deep-towed high-resolution multichannel seismic system was designed by the First Institute of Oceanography,Ministry of Natural Resources(FIO,MNR).The system is mainly composed of a plasma spark source(source level:216 dB,main frequency:750 Hz,frequency bandwidth:150-1200 Hz)and a towed hydrophone streamer with 48 channels.Because the source and the towed hydrophone streamer are constantly moving according to the towing configuration,the accurate positioning of the towing hydrophone array and the moveout correction of deep-towed multichannel seismic data processing before imaging are challenging.Initially,according to the characteristics of the system and the towing streamer shape in deep water,travel-time positioning method was used to construct the hydrophone streamer shape,and the results were corrected by using the polynomial curve fitting method.Then,a new data-processing workflow for Kuiyang-ST2000 system data was introduced,mainly including float datum setting,residual static correction,phase-based moveout correction,which allows the imaging algorithms of conventional marine seismic data processing to extend to deep-towed seismic data.We successfully applied the Kuiyang-ST2000 system and methodology of data processing to a gas hydrate survey of the Qiongdongnan and Shenhu areas in the South China Sea,and the results show that the profile has very high vertical and lateral resolutions(0.5 m and 8 m,respectively),which can provide full and accurate details of gas hydrate-related and geohazard sedimentary and structural features in the South China Sea. | Yanliang PEI Mingming WEN Zhengrong WEI Baohua LIU Kai LIU Guangming KAN | 2023 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,2: | 0 |
