2Advances in studying interactions between aerosols and monsoon in China显示文摘Scientific issues relevant to interactions between aerosols and the Asian monsoon climate were discussed and evaluated at the 33 rd 'Forum of Science and Technology Frontiers' sponsored by the Department of Earth Sciences at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Major results are summarized in this paper. The East Asian monsoon directly affects aerosol transport and provides a favorable background circulation for the occurrence and development of persistent fog-haze weather. Spatial features of aerosol transport and distribution are also influenced by the East Asian monsoon on seasonal, inter-annual, and decadal scales. High moisture levels in monsoon regions also affect aerosol optical and radiative properties. Observation analyses indicate that cloud physical properties and precipitation are significantly affected by aerosols in China with aerosols likely suppressing local light and moderate rainfall, and intensifying heavy rainfall in southeast coastal regions. However, the detailed mechanisms behind this pattern still need further exploration. The decadal variation in the East Asian monsoon strongly affects aerosol concentrations and their spatial patterns. The weakening monsoon circulation in recent decades has likely helped to increase regional aerosol concentrations. The substantial increase in Chinese air pollutants has likely decreased the temperature difference between land and sea, which favors intensification of the weakening monsoon circulation. 5Salicylic acid promotes quiescent center cell division through ROS accumulation and down-regulation of PLT1,PLT2,and WOX5显示文摘Salicylic acid(SA)plays a crucial role in plant immunity.However,its function in plant development is poorly understood.The quiescent center(QC),which maintains columella stem cells(CSCs)in the root apical meristem and typically exhibits low levels of cell division,is critical for root growth and development.Here,we show that the Arabidopsis thaliana SA overaccumulation mutant constitutively activated cell death 1(cad1),which exhibits increased cell division in the QC,is rescued by additional mutations in genes encoding the SA biosynthetic enzyme SALICYLIC ACID INDUCTION DEFFICIENT2(SID2)or the SA receptor NONEXPRESSER OF PR GENES1(NPR1),indicating that QC cell division in the cad1 mutant is promoted by the NPR1-dependent SA signaling pathway.The application of exogenous SA also promoted QC cell division in wild-type plants in a dose-dependent manner and largely suppressed the expression of genes involved in QC maintenance,including those encoding the APETALA2(AP2)transcription factors PLETHORA1(PLT1)and PLT2,as well as the homeodomain transcription factor WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMEOBOX5(WOX5).Moreover,we showed that SA promotes reactive oxygen species(ROS)production,which is necessary for the QC cell division phenotype in the cad1 mutant.These results provide insight into the function of SA in QC maintenance.Zhuqing Wang Duoyan Rong Dixing Chen Yang Xiao Renyi Liu Shuang Wu Chizuko Yamamuro 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,3:4

Xueshan Township,Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County of Yunnan Province,located in the alpine valley of Jinsha River,is a major township with wide and deep poverty,and the incidence of poverty is up to 45. 00%. In recent years,Xueshan Township has insisted on the battle against poverty,made effort to develop the Codonopsis pilosula industry,and successfully developed a road to poverty alleviation through C. pilosula industry,and formed a unique industrial poverty alleviation model by the end of 2018,the incidence of poverty dropped to 0. 74%. 15Case study of a rhizosphere microbiome assay on a bamboo rhizome with excessive shoots显示文摘Young moso bamboo shoots are a popular seasonal food and an important source of income for farmers,with value for cultivation estimated at$30,000 per hectare.Bamboo also has great environmental importance and its unique physiology is of scientific interest.A rare and valuable phenomenon has recently appeared where a large number of adjacent buds within a single moso bamboo rhizome have grown into shoots.Although of practical importance for the production of edible shoots,such occurrences have not been scientifically studied,due to their rarity.Analysis of collected reports from enhanced shoot production events in China showed no evidence that enhanced shoot development was heritable.We report the analysis of the rhizosphere microbiome from a rhizome with 18 shoots,compared to rhizomes having one or no shoots as controls.The community of prokaryotes,but not fungi,correlated with the shoot number.Burkholderia was the most abundant genus,which was negatively correlated with rhizome shoot number,while Clostridia and Ktedonobacteria were positively correlated.Two Burkholderia strains were isolated and their plant-growth promoting activity was tested.The isolated Burkholderia strains attenuated the growth of bamboo seedlings.These data provide the first study on excessive shoot development in bamboo,which will facilitate hypothesis building for future studies.Fuqiang Cui Yifan Yang Mengyuan Ye Wei Wei Wenqian Huang Ying Wu Xi Jiao Xiaoxue Ye Shutong Zhou Zhubing Hu Yinhai Zhang Renyi Gui Wenwu Wu Kim Yrjala Kirk Overmyer Shenkui Liu 2021Forestry Research2021,1,1:0
