It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). | 5 | Programmable time-domain digital-coding metasurface for non-linear harmonic manipulation and new wireless communication systems显示文摘Optical non-linear phenomena are typically observed in natural materials interacting with light at high intensities, and they benefit a diverse range of applications from communication to sensing. However,controlling harmonic conversion with high efficiency and flexibility remains a major issue in modern optical and radio-frequency systems. Here, we introduce a dynamic time-domain digital-coding metasurface that enables efficient manipulation of spectral harmonic distribution. By dynamically modulating the local phase of the surface reflectivity, we achieve accurate control of different harmonics in a highly programmable and dynamic fashion, enabling unusual responses, such as velocity illusion. As a relevant application, we propose and realize a novel architecture for wireless communication systems based on the time-domain digital-coding metasurface, which largely simplifies the architecture of modern communication systems, at the same time yielding excellent performance for real-time signal transmission. | 6 | Expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and its role in oncogenesis of human gastric carcinoma显示文摘AIM To establish the role of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the oncogenesisof human gastric carcinoma more directly.METHODS The expression of VEGF and its receptor kinase-domain insert containing receptor (KDR) in human gastric cancer tissue were observed by immunohistochemical staining. VEGF levels were manipulated in human gastric cancer cell using eukaryotic expression constructs designed to express the complete VEGF165 complimentary DNA in either the sense or antisense orientation. The biological changes of the cells were observed in which VEGF was up-regulated or downregulated.RESULTS VEGF-positive rate was 50%, and VEGF was mainly localized in the cytoplasm and membrane of the tumor cells, while KDR was mainly located in the membrane of vascular endothelial cells in gastric cancer tissues and peri-cancerous tissue. In 2 cases of 50 specimens, the gastric cancer cells expressed KDR,localized in both the cytoplasm and membrane.Introduction of VEGF165 antisense into human gastric cancer cells ( SGC-7901, immunofluorescence intensity,31.6%)) resulted in a significant reduction in VEGFspecific messenger RNA and total and cell surface VEGF protein ( immunofluorescence intensity, 8.9%)(P<0.05). Conversely, stable integration of VEGF165 in the sense orientation resulted in an increase in cellular and cell surface VEGF (immunofluorescence intensity,75.4%) (P<0.05). | 7 | FAT10 level in human gastric cancer and its relation with mutant p53 level,lymph node metastasis and TNM staging显示文摘AIM:To investigate the role of FAT10 and mutant p53 in the pathogenesis,severity and prognosis of gastric cancer.METHODS:FAT10,mutant p53 mRNA and protein levels were measured by reverse transcription(RT)-PCR and immunohistochemistry in gastric cancer tissue(n = 62),tumoradjacent tissue(n = 62) and normal gastric tissue(n = 62).Relation of FAT10 and mutant p53 expression with clinicopathological features and clinical outcomes of gastric cancer patients were analyzed.RESULTS:The FAT10,mutant p53 mRNA and protein levels were signif icantly higher in gastric cancer than in its adjacent and normal tissue.The FAT10 and mutant p53 levels in gastric cancer tissue were significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis and tumor,nodes,metastasis(TNM) staging.Moreover,the high FAT10 level was associated with the overall survival rate of patients.Multivariate Cox-proportional hazards model analysis showed that mRNA and protein levels of FAT10 and mutant p53,lymph node metastasis,distant metastasis and TNM stage were the independent prognostic factors for gastric cancer.CONCLUSION:FAT10 may be involved in gastric carcinogenesis,and is a potential marker for the prognosis of gastric cancer patients.FAT10 and mutant p53 may play a common role in the carcinogenesis of gastric cancer. | Feng Ji Xi Jin Chun-Hua Jiao Qin-Wei Xu Zi-Wei Wang Yue-Liang Chen | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,18: | 23 |
| 8 | CFD-DEM simulation of spouting of corn-shaped particles显示文摘Three dimensionally coupled computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and discrete element method (DEM) were used to investigate the flow of corn-shaped particles in a cylindrical spouted bed with a conical base. The particle motion was modeled by the DEM, and the gas motion by the k-ε two-equation turbulent model. A two-way coupling numerical iterative scheme was used to incorporate the effects of gas-particle interactions in terms of momentum exchange. The corn-shaped particles were constructed by a multisphere method. Drag force, contact force, Saffman lift force, Magnus lift force, and gravitational force acting on each individual particle were considered in establishing the mathematical modeling. Calculations were carried out in a cylindrical spouted bed with an inside diameter of 200 mm, a height of 700 mm, and a conical base of 60 . Comparison of simulations with experiments showed the availability of the multi-sphere method in simulating spouting action with corn-shaped particles, but it depended strongly on the number and the arrangement of the spherical elements. Gas-solid flow patterns, pressure drop, particle velocity and particle concentration at various spouting gas velocity were discussed. The results showed that particle velocity reaches a maximum at the axis and then decreases gradually along the radial direction in the whole bed. Particle concentration increases along the radial direction in the spout region but decreases in the fountain region, while it is nearly constant in the annulus region. | 9 | Soil Bacterial Communities Under Different Long-Term Fertilization Regimes in Three Locations Across the Black Soil Region of Northeast China显示文摘Although soil bacteria play critical roles in agro-ecosystems, the knowledge of their response to long-term fertilization across the black soil region of Northeast China is limited. In this study, we sequenced 16 S rRNA genes to assess the effects of four long-term fertilization regimes—non-fertilization(NoF), chemical fertilizer(CF), manure(M), and chemical fertilizer plus manure(CFM)—on soil properties and bacterial communities in three locations, the northern, middle, and southern parts, across the black soil region. Results showed that the influence of fertilization regimes on soil properties varied significantly among the three locations. Manure fertilization significantly increased microbial biomass carbon and relative abundance of copiotrophic bacteria. Principal component analysis(PCA)showed that the total bacterial communities were separated into three groups according to the sampling location despite long-term fertilization, and that soil pH was the most important factor in shifting bacterial communities. In addition, similar fertilization regimes resulted in different influences on bacterial community composition, and the most influential soil properties varied among the three locations. | 10 | Effect of severe acute pancreatitis on pharmacokinetics of Da-Cheng-Qi Decoction components显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effect of severe acute pan- creatitis(SAP)on pharmacokinetics of Da-Cheng-Qi Decoction(DCQD)components in rats. METHODS:Rats were divided into SAP group and sham-operation group as a control group(n=6). Rhein,chrysophanol,rheochrysidin,magnolol,hesperidin and naringin in DCQD were quantified in rat serum by high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry for studying their pharmacokinetics. RESULTS:Early absorption of each DCQD component was tended to degrade in SAP group after treatment with DCQD by gavage.The Cmax(chrysophanol,P= 0.0059;rheochrysidin,P=0.0288;magnolol,P= 0.0487;hesperidin,P=0.0277;naringin,P=0.0023) and AUC(rhein,P=0.0186;chrysophanol,P=0.0013; magnolol,P=0.001;hesperidin,P=0.0081;naringin, P=0.0272)of DCQD component were obviously lower in SAP group than in control group.The T1/2α of chrysophanol and rheochrysidin(P=0.0467 and 0.0005,respectively)and Tmax of chrysophanol and rheochrysidin(P=0.0101 and 0.0037,respectively) lasted longer in SAP group than in control group. | 15 | Anti-HBV effect of TAT-HBV targeted ribonuclease显示文摘AIM: To prepare and purify TAT-HBV targeted ribonuclease fusion protein, evaluate its transduction activity and investigate its effect on HBV replication in 2.2.15 cells.METHODS: The prokaryotic expression vector pTAT containing TR gene was used in transforming E. coli BL21(DE3) LysS and TR was expressed with the induction of IPTG. The TAT-TR fusion protein was purified using Ni-NTA-agrose and PD-10 desalting columns, and analyzed by SDSPAGE. Transduction efficiency of TAT-TR was detected with immunofluorescence assay and the concentration of HBeAg in the supernatant of the 2.2.15 cells was determined via solid-phase radioimmunoassay (spRIA). MTT assay was used to detect the cytotoxicity of TAT-TR.RESULTS: The SDS-PAGE showed that the TAT-TR fusion protein was purified successfully, and the purity of TAT-TR was 90 %. | 16 | Seasonal and inter-annual variations in carbon fluxes and evapotranspiration over cotton field under drip irrigation with plastic mulch in an arid region of Northwest China显示文摘Xinjiang is the largest semi-arid and arid region in China, and drip irrigation under plastic mulch is widely used in this water-limited area. Quantifying carbon and water fluxes as well as investigating their environmental drivers over cotton fields is critical for understanding regional carbon and water budgets in Xinjiang, the largest cotton production basin of China. In this study, an eddy covariance(EC) technique was used to measure the carbon and water fluxes of cotton field under drip irrigation with plastic mulch in the growing seasons of 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013 at Wulanwusu Agrometeorological Experiment Station, a representative oasis cropland in northern Xinjiang. The diurnal patterns of gross primary production(GPP), net ecosystem exchange(NEE) and evapotranspiration(ET) showed obviously sinusoidal variations from June to September, while the diurnal ecosystem respiration(Res) was stable between daytime and nighttime. The daytime hourly GPP and ET displayed asymptotic relationships with net solar radiation(Rnet), while showed concave patterns with raising vapor pressure deficit(VPD) and air temperature(Ta). The increases in hourly GPP and ET towards the maximum occurred over half ranges of VPD and Ta. The seasonal variations of GPP, NEE and ET were close to the cotton phenology, which almost reached the peak value in July. The cumulative GPP averaged 816.2±55.0 g C/m2 in the growing season(from April to October), and more than half of GPP was partitioned into NEE(mean value of –478.6±41.4 g C/m2). The mean seasonal ET was 501.3±13.9 mm, and the mean water use efficiency(WUE) was 1.0±0.1(mg C/g H2O)/d. | 18 | Identification of the epitopes on HCV core protein recognized by HLA-A2 restricted cytotoxic T lymphocytes显示文摘AIM To identify hepatitis C virus (HCV) core protein epitopes recognized by HLA-A2 restricted cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL).METHODS Utilizing the method of computer prediction followed by a 4 h 51 Cr-release assay confirmation.RESULTS The results showed that peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) obtained from two HLA-A2 positive donors who were infected with HCV could lyse autologous target cells labeled with peptide 'ALAHGVFAL (core TS0-158)'.The rates of specific lysis of the cells from the two donors were 37.5% and 15.8%,respectively. | 19 | miRNA-133a-UCP2 pathway regulates inflammatory bowel disease progress by influencing inflammation, oxidative stress and energy metabolism显示文摘AIM To investigate the role of the mi R-133a-UCP2 pathway in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)and to explore the potential downstream mechanisms with respect to inflammation,oxidative stress and energy metabolism.METHODS C57BL/6 mice were fed dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)liquid for 7 consecutive days,followed by the administration of saline to the DSS group,UCP2 si RNA to the UCP2 group and a mi R-133a mimic to the mi R-133a group on days 8 and 11.Body weight,stool consistencyand rectal bleeding were recorded daily,and these composed the disease activity index(DAI)score for the assessment of disease severity.After cervical dislocation was performed on day 14,the length of the colon in each mouse was measured,and colonic tissue was collected for further study,which included the following:haematoxylin and eosin staining,UCP2 and mi R-133a detection by immunohistochemical staining,western blot and quantitative real-time PCR,measurement of apoptosis by TUNEL assay,and the assessment of inflammation(TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6 and MCP1),oxidative stress(H2O2 and MDA)and metabolic parameters(ATP)by ELISA and colorimetric methods.RESULTS An animal model of IBD was successfully established,as shown by an increased DAI score,shortened colon length and specific pathologic changes,along with significantly increased UCP2 and decreased mi R-133a levels.Compared with the DSS group,the severity of IBD was alleviated in the UCP2 and the mi R-133a groups after successful UCP2 knockdown and mi R-133a overexpression.The extent of apoptosis,as well as the levels of TNF-α,IL-1β,MDA and ATP,were significantly increased in both the UCP2 and mi R-133a groups compared with the DSS group.CONCLUSION The mi R-133a-UCP2 pathway participates in IBD by altering downstream inflammation,oxidative stress and markers of energy metabolism,which provides novel clues and potential therapeutic targets for IBD. | Xi Jin Dong Chen Ruo-Heng Zheng Hong Zhang Yi-Peng Chen Zun Xiang | 2017 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,1: | 11 |
| 20 | Super-resolution dipole orientation mapping via polarization demodulation显示文摘Fluorescence polarization microscopy(FPM)aims to detect the dipole orientation of fluorophores and to resolve structural information for labeled organelles via wide-field or confocal microscopy.Conventional FPM often suffers from the presence of a large number of molecules within the diffraction-limited volume,with averaged fluorescence polarization collected from a group of dipoles with different orientations.Here,we apply sparse deconvolution and least-squares estimation to fluorescence polarization modulation data and demonstrate a super-resolution dipole orientation mapping(SDOM)method that resolves the effective dipole orientation from a much smaller number of fluorescent molecules within a sub-diffraction focal area.We further apply this method to resolve structural details in both fixed and live cells.For the first time,we show that different borders of a dendritic spine neck exhibit a heterogeneous distribution of dipole orientation.Furthermore,we illustrate that the dipole is always perpendicular to the direction of actin filaments in mammalian kidney cells and radially distributed in the hourglass structure of the septin protein under specific labelling.The accuracy of the dipole orientation can be further mapped using the orientation uniform factor,which shows the superiority of SDOM compared with its wide-field counterpart as the number of molecules is decreased within the smaller focal area.Using the inherent feature of the orientation dipole,the SDOM technique,with its fast imaging speed(at sub-second scale),can be applied to a broad range of fluorescently labeled biological systems to simultaneously resolve the valuable dipole orientation information with super-resolution imaging. | Karl Zhanghao Long Chen Xu-San Yang Miao-Yan Wang Zhen-Li Jing Hong-Bin Han Michael Q Zhang Dayong Jin Jun-Tao Gao Peng Xi | 2016 | Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1: | 11 |
