2A Survey on Terahertz Communications显示文摘With the exponential growth of the data traffic in wireless communication systems, terahertz(THz) frequency band is envisioned as a promising candidate to support ultra-broadband for future beyond fifth generation(5G), bridging the gap between millimeter wave(mmWave) and optical frequency ranges. The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive literature review on the development towards THz communications and presents some key technologies faced in THz wireless communication systems. Firstly, despite the substantial hardware problems that have to be developed in terms of the THz solid state superheterodyne receiver, high speed THz modulators and THz antennas, the practical THz channel model and the efficient THz beamforming are also described to compensate for the severe path attenuation. Moreover, two different kinds of lab-level THz communication systems are introduced minutely, named a solid state THz communication system and a spatial direct modulation THz communication system, respectively. The solid state THz system converts intermediate frequency(IF) modulated signal to THz frequency while the direct modulation THz system allows the high power THz sources to input for approving the relatively long distance communications. 4Chitosan conduits combined with nerve growth factor microspheres repair facial nerve defects显示文摘Microspheres containing nerve growth factor for sustained release were prepared by a compound method,and implanted into chitosan conduits to repair 10-mm defects on the right buccal branches of the facial nerve in rabbits.In addition,chitosan conduits combined with nerve growth factor or normal saline,as well as autologous nerve,were used as controls.At 90 days post-surgery,the muscular atrophy on the right upper lip was more evident in the nerve growth factor and normal saline groups than in the nerve growth factor-microspheres and autologous nerve groups.Electrophysiological analysis revealed that the nerve conduction velocity and amplitude were significantly higher in the nerve growth factor-microspheres and autologous nerve groups than in the nerve growth factor and normal saline groups.Moreover,histological observation illustrated that the diameter,number,alignment and myelin sheath thickness of myelinated nerves derived from rabbits were higher in the nerve growth factor-microspheres and autologous nerve groups than in the nerve growth factor and normal saline groups.These findings indicate that chitosan nerve conduits combined with microspheres for sustained release of nerve growth factor can significantly improve facial nerve defect repair in rabbits.Huawei Liu Weisheng Wen Min Hu Wenting Bi Lijie Chen Sanxia Liu Peng Chen Xinying Tan 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,33:22
5Picroside Ⅱ down-regulates matrix metalloproteinase-9 expression following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats显示文摘Studies have shown that Picroside II attenuates inflammatory reactions following brain ischemia through the inhibition of the TLR-4-NF-κB signal transduction pathway,and ameliorates cerebral edema through the reduction of aquaporin-4 expression.Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9),located downstream of the TLR-4-NF-κB signal transduction pathway,can degrade the neurovascular matrix,damage the blood-brain barrier to induce cerebral edema,and directly result in neuronal apoptosis and brain injury.Therefore,the present study further observed MMP-9 expression in the brain tissues of rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury following Picroside II treatment.Results demonstrated that Picroside II significantly reduced MMP-9 expression in ischemic brain tissues,as well as neuronal apoptosis and brain infarct volume,suggesting Picroside II exhibits neuroprotection by down-regulating MMP-9 expression and inhibiting cell apoptosis.Xiang Li Xinying Xu Zhen Li Yunliang Guo Qin Li Xiaodan Li Zhen Zhou 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,18:13

7Effect of Gd addition on microstructure and corrosion behaviors of Mg-Zn-Y alloy显示文摘The Mg_(97-x)Zn_(1)Y_(2)Gd_(x) alloys were prepared by as-casting method.Corrosion performance of alloys was evaluated by using potentiodynamic polarization,hydrogen evolution rate and mass loss measurements in 3%sodium chloride solution at room temperature.The results shown that the atomic rate of the long period stacking ordered(LPSO)with the composition of Mg_(12)Zn_(1)Y_(1).The microstructure of LPSO phases was lamellar structure.When the atomic fraction of Zn is 1%and the atomic ratio of Zn/RE(Y,Gd)is 2:5,the volume fraction of LPSO phase can reach the extreme value.The corrosion resistance of Mg–Zn–Y alloy improves with the increase of the volume fraction of LSPO phase.The Mg_(96.5)Zn_(1)Y_(2)Gd_(0.5)(MG0.5)alloy had better corrosion resistance than those of other alloys.It meant that 0.5 at.%gadolinium(Gd)was a suitable addition to Mg_(97)Zn_(2)Y alloy about corrosion resistance.Jinyang Zhang Min Xu Xinying Teng Min Zuo 2016Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2016,4,4:11
8Characteristics and sedimentary processes of lamina-controlled sand-particle imbricate structure in deposits on Lingshan Island, Qingdao, China显示文摘Imbricate structure is a common sedimentary structure and is well developed in sandy sediments.Here,we report a laminacontrolled fine-sand-particle imbricate structure in a set of very fine grained sedimentary rocks(fine sandstone,siltstone,and mudstone)at the Dockyard and Qianceng Cliff areas of Lingshan Island,Qingdao,Shandong,China.Sets of up to 300 laminae are found in stratigraphic profiles in these areas.The laminae are generally less than 1 mm thick,with most being 0.3–0.4 mm thick and the thinnest being<0.1 mm.The dip angle of the imbricate structure varies widely,between 0°and 90°,with an average dip angle of about 40°–50°,which is higher than that of imbricate riverbed gravels(about 34°).The dip angle is a function of the shape and sorting of the particles,as well as the hydrodynamic conditions under which these fine-grained sediments were deposited.Several profiles show well-developed multiscale,soft-sediment deformation structures.Flute casts,load casts,and groove casts are also common.Fragments of carbon remains occur widely and commonly constitute stringers several millimeters thick and up to 10 cm long,together with fine clasts.Vitrain lenticles are also common.Based on the imbricate structure of the Lingshan Island deposits,it is shown that in addition to paleocurrent analysis,the imbricate structure can be used to infer information about fluid properties,transport characteristics,and sedimentary processes of the depositional environment.A near-bottom underflow,either of authigenic origin or derived from cold river water in winter in a delta interdistributary bay or delta-front environment,is inferred to have provided the hydrodynamic setting in which this imbricate structure formed.The imbricate structure,together with other sedimentary structures and features,shows that the sedimentary rocks on Lingshan Island were deposited in an inland,shallow-water environment,such as a delta,and not in a deep-water or submarine continental-slope environment.SHAO ZhuFu ZHONG JianHua LI Yong MAO Cui LIU ShengXin NI LiangTian TIAN Yuan CUI XinYing LIU YunTian WANG XiaoNan LI WeiHua LIN GangShan 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,5:11
9The record of cultivated rice from archaeobiological evidence in northwestern China 5000 years ago显示文摘Pollen, plant seeds and phytoliths from an AMS dated sediment profile at the Xishanping site indicate that the cultivation of rice might start no later than 5070 cal. a BP in the region of Tianshui, Gansu Province. It continued from 5070 to 4300 cal. a BP. This is so far the oldest and the most northwestern record of cultivated rice in Neolithic China, which extends the known region of prehistoric rice cultivation at least 2° longitude to the west. 10Early agricultural development and environmental effects in the Neolithic Longdong basin(eastern Gansu)显示文摘Neolithic agricultural development and environmental effects in the Longdong area were reconstructed using a synthetic approach,investigating pollen,charcoal,and seed remains for two cultural layer sections and five flotation sites.Results show that Neolithic agriculture in the Longdong area had a simple organization and was dominated by the production of common millet,especially in the early and middle Yangshao age.After the late Yangshao age,Neolithic agriculture developed into a more complex structure,dominated by both common and foxtail millet and the cultivation of rice and soybeans.The production of foxtail millet gradually increased through the Neolithic period,reaching its highest point during the Qijia culture.Soybeans were first cultivated during the late Yangshao culture,approximately 5000 cal a BP.Rice production began no later than 4800 cal a BP,and continued to exist in the Qijia culture,approximately 4000 cal a BP.Agricultural production in Neolithic Longdong,specifically in the 'Yuan' area of the loess plateau,developed as a shrub and grass dominated landscape.Vegetation in the river valleys was partly covered with Picea,Tusga,and Quercus coniferous and broadleaf mixed forests.Agricultural activity during the Neolithic period caused an increase in farmland on the loess tableland and a decrease in the abundance of shrub and grassland in the Longdong area.When farmlands were abandoned,vegetation recovered with Hippophae-,Rosaceae-,Ephedra-,and Leguminosae-dominated shrublands and Artemisia-dominated grasslands.ZHOU XinYing LI XiaoQiang ZHAO KeLiang DODSON John SUN Nan YANG Qing 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,8:10
11Investigation of the ultrastructural characteristics of foxtail and broomcorn millet during carbonization and its application in archaeobotany显示文摘Fossilized caryopses (or grains) of foxtail millet (Setaria italica) and broomcorn millet (Panicum miliaceum) are important archaeobotanical materials for the study of early human agricultural activities.The morphology and ultrastructural characteristics of carbonized modern millets caryopses treated in a drying oven and burning in a field were investigated at different temperatures to study how fossilized millets are formed.The caryopses shrank gradually at temperatures below 200°C,and starch granules in the endosperm retained their crystalline structure.At 250°C the foxtail millet caryopses expanded,whereas the broomcorn millet caryopses were greatly deformed.At this temperature,the structure of the starch granules of both millets became amorphous.At 300°C the caryopses partially turned to ash and became porous,and the ultrastructure of the starch granules was transformed into alveolate cavities.Fossil caryopses from the prehistoric storage cellar at the Beiniu Site retained their crystalline structure and were formed by the dehydrating effect of carbonization,indicating that water molecules were not involved in the starch crystallization.The results of a field burning experiment demonstrated that the ultrastructure of carbonized caryopses placed on the ground under the fire was amorphous.The amorphous ultrastructure of the carbonized caryopses recovered from the archaeological layers is consistent with the expected structure of caryopses that have been carbonized at 250°C.Therefore,we suggest that the recovered caryopses were formed at about 250°C by baking rather than by burning in an open fire.YANG Qing LI XiaoQiang ZHOU XinYing ZHAO KeLiang JI Ming SUN Nan 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,14:10
12Counteraction of ABA-Mediated Inhibition of Seed Germination and Seedling Establishment by ABA Signaling Terminator in Arabidopsis显示文摘Seed germination and seedling establishment are important for the reproductive success of plants,but seeds and seedlings typically encounter constantly changing environmental conditions.By inhibiting seed germination and post-germinative growth through the PYR1/PYL/RCAR ABA receptors and PP2C co-receptors,the phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)prevents premature germination and seedling growth under unfavorable conditions.However,little is known about how the ABA-mediated inhibition of seed germination and seedling establishment is thwarted.Here,we report that ABA Signaling Terminator(ABT),a WD40 protein,efficiently switches off ABA signaling and is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment.ABT is induced by ABA in a PYR1/PYL/RCAR-PP2C-dependent manner.Overexpression of ABT promotes seed germination and seedling greening in the presence of ABA,whereas knockout of ABT has the opposite effect.We found that ABT interacts with the PYR1/PYL/RCAR and PP2C proteins,interferes with the interaction between PYR1/PYL4 and ABI1/ABI2,and hampers the inhibition of ABI1/ABI2 by ABA-bound PYR1/PYL4,thereby terminating ABA signaling.Taken together,our results reveal a core mechanism of ABA signaling termination that is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment in Arabidopsis.Zhijuan Wang Ziyin Ren Chunhong Cheng Tao Wang Hongtao Ji Yang Zhao Zhiping Deng Liya Zhi Jingjing Lu Xinying Wu Shimin Xu Mengmeng Cao Hongtao Zhao Liu Liu Jiankang Zhu Xia Li 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,9:10
13Quantifying the effects of short-term heat stress at booting stage on nonstructural carbohydrates remobilization in rice显示文摘Extreme heat stress events are becoming more frequent under anticipated climate change,which can have devastating impacts on rice growth and yield.To quantify the effects of short-term heat stress at booting stage on nonstructural carbohydrates(NSC)remobilization in rice,two varieties(Nanjing 41 and Wuyunjing 24)were subjected to 32/22/27°C(maximum/minimum/mean),36/26/31°C,40/30/35°C,and 44/34/39°C for 2,4 and 6 days in phytotrons at booting stage during 2014 and 2015.Yield and yield components,dry matter partitioning index(DMPI),NSC accumulation and translocation were measured and calculated.The results showed that the increase of high-temperature level and duration significantly reduced grain yield by suppressing spikelet number per panicle,seed-setting rate,and grain weight.Heat stress at booting decreased DMPI in panicles,increased DMPI in stems,but had no significant effect on photosynthetic rate.Stem NSC concentration increased whereas panicles NSC concentration,stem NSC translocation efficiency,and contribution of stem NSC to grain yield decreased.Severe heat stress even transformed the stem into a carbohydrate sink during grain filling.The heat-tolerant Wuyunjing 24 showed a higher NSC transport capacity under heat stress than the heat-sensitive Nanjing 41.Heat degree-days(HDD),which combines the effects of the intensity and duration of heat stress,used for quantifying the impacts of heat stress indicates the threshold HDD for the termination of NSC translocation is 9.82°C day.Grain yield was negatively correlated with stem NSC concentration and accumulation at maturity,and yield reduction was tightly related to NSC translocation reduction.The results suggest that heat stress at booting inhibits NSC translocation due to sink size reduction.Therefore,genotypes with higher NSC transport capacity under heat stress could be beneficial for rice yield formation.Fengxian Zhen Junjie Zhou Aqib Mahmood Wei Wang Xini Chang Bing Liu Leilei Liu Weixing Cao Yan Zhu Liang Tang 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,2:9
14Glass-forming ability and crystallization of Mg-Ni amorphous alloys with Y addition显示文摘Mg86.33Ni13.67-xYx(x=0, 1, 3, 6, 10) amorphous alloys were obtained by single-roller melt-spinning technique and the effect of Y addition on the glass forming ability(GFA), crystallization and micro-hardness of Mg-Ni alloys were studied. The results show that the GFA of Mg86.33Ni13.67-xYx(x=0, 1, 3, 6, 10) is improved successfully with the Y addition. The highest GFA appeares at x=6, while the reduced glass transition temperature (Trg) is 0.5225 and the supercooled liquid region(ΔTx) is 42.06 K; the position of the main diffraction halo is different for the alloys, and the maximum of the main diffraction halo of alloys with x=0, 1, 3 corresponds to the main peaks of a metastable fcc-Mg6Ni or fcc-Mg6Ni + Ni-Y intermetallic phases, and for the alloys with x=6, 10, it corresponds to Mg-Y and Ni-Y intermetallic phases; the micro-hardness of the alloys is improved with Y additions, and the highest micro-hardness is obtained at x=6 at.%, which is 960 MPa.Liu Liyan Teng Xinying Wang Yongjie Liu Teng 2012Rare Metals2012,31,3:8
15Preventive Control for Power System Transient Security Based on XGBoost and DCOPF with Consideration of Model Interpretability显示文摘This paper proposes a new approach for online power system transient security assessment(TSA)and preventive control based on XGBoost and DC optimal power flow(DCOPF).The novelty of this proposal is that it applies the XGBoost and data selection method based on the 1-norm distance in local feature importance evaluation which can provide a certain model interpretability.The method of SMOTE+ENN is adopted for data rebalancing.The contingency-oriented XGBoost model is trained with databases generated by time domain simulations to represent the transient security constraint in the DCOPF model,which has a relatively fast speed of calculation.The transient security constrained generation rescheduling is implemented with the differential evolution algorithm,which is utilized to optimize the rescheduled generation in the preventive control.Feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach are demonstrated on an IEEE 39-bus test system and a 500-bus operational model for South Carolina,USA.Songtao Zhang Dongxia Zhang Ji Qiao Xinying Wang Zhijian Zhang 2021CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2021,7,2:8

17Regional and Global Land Data Assimilation Systems: Innovations,Challenges, and Prospects显示文摘Since the North American and Global Land Data Assimilation Systems(NLDAS and GLDAS) were established in2004, significant progress has been made in development of regional and global LDASs. National, regional, projectbased, and global LDASs are widely developed across the world. This paper summarizes and overviews the development, current status, applications, challenges, and future prospects of these LDASs. We first introduce various regional and global LDASs including their development history and innovations, and then discuss the evaluation, validation, and applications(from numerical model prediction to water resources management) of these LDASs. More importantly, we document in detail some specific challenges that the LDASs are facing: quality of the in-situ observations, satellite retrievals, reanalysis data, surface meteorological forcing data, and soil and vegetation databases; land surface model physical process treatment and parameter calibration; land data assimilation difficulties; and spatial scale incompatibility problems. 19Exosomal piRNA profiling revealed unique circulating piRNA signatures of cholangiocarcinoma and gallbladder carcinoma显示文摘Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)and gallbladder carcinoma(GBC)are biliary tract cancers with poor five-year survival and high recurrence rates.Both CCA and GBC patients suffer from lack of circulating diagnostic biomarkers at the early stage.Extracellular vesicles,especially exosomes,have been emerged as promising diagnostic sources for cancers due to easy and quick accessibility.Hence,identification of exosomal biomarkers provides a novel strategy for CCA and GBC diagnosis.Here,five CCA patients and four GBC patients were enrolled for exosomal small RNA sequencing.Our data showed that exosomal piwi-interacting RNA(piRNA)populations were altered in the plasma of CCA and GBC patients.In comparison to healthy individuals,694 and 323 piRNAs were upregulated in CCA and GBC,respectively,while 36 and 191 piRNAs were down regulated.Interestingly,sequencing results predicted that piR-2660989,piR-10506469,piR-20548188,piR-10822895,piR-hsa-23209,and piR-18044111 were upregulated in both CCA and GBC plasma.Importantly,we further included blood samples from 50 health individuals,40 CCA patients,and 25 GBC patients and found that piR-10506469 were significantly increased in the exosomes of plasma from both CCA and GBC patients.Moreover,we analyzed the expression levels of differentially expressed exosomal piRNAs in the plasma of CCA and GBC patient before and after surgeries and found that piR-10506469 and piR-20548188 were significantly decreased in patients underwent surgeries.Taken together,our data revealed that exosomal piRNAs those are differentially expressed in CCA and GBC plasma may serve as potential biomarkers for the diagnosis of CCA and GBC.Xinjin Gu Chen Wang Hui Deng Chong Qing Rong Liu Sanhong Liu Xinying Xue 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,5:7
20Holocene vegetation succession and responses to climate change in the northern sector of Northeast China显示文摘Sediment pollen samples from the Huola Basin in the northern sector of northeast China, and surface pollen samples from its environs, were analyzed to reconstruct accurately the historical response of vegetation to climate change since 9100 cal yr BP. Pollen analysis of the Huola Section indicates that vegetation experienced a transformation from early-mid Holocene warm-cold mixed vegetation to late Holocene cold-temperate vegetation. From 9100 to 6000 cal yr BP, the study area was warmer and moister than at present, developing Corylus, Carpinus, Pinus, Picea, Betula and Larix-dominated forests. Two cooling events at 6000–5000 and 3500–2500 cal yr BP led to a decrease in Corylus, Carpinus and other warmth-loving vegetation, whereas cold temperate forests composed of Larix and Betula expanded. After 2500 cal yr BP, Larix and Betula dominated cold-temperate vegetated landscapes. The Holocene warm period in NE China(9100–6000 cal yr BP) suggests that such warming could have resulted in a strengthening of the influence from East Asian Summer Monsoon on northernmost NE China and would have benefited the development of warm-temperate forest vegetation and an improved plant load, which also provides the similarity model for the possible global warming in the future.ZHAO Chao LI XiaoQiang ZHOU XinYing ZHAO KeLiang YANG Qing 2016Science China Earth Sciences2016,59,7:7
