| 1 | Repurposing vitamin D for treatment of human malignancies via targeting tumor microenvironment显示文摘Tumor cells along with a small proportion of cancer stem cells exist in a stromal microenvironment consisting of vasculature, cancer-associated fibroblasts, immune cells and extracellular components.Recent epidemiological and clinical studies strongly support that vitamin D supplementation is associated with reduced cancer risk and favorable prognosis. Experimental results suggest that vitamin D not only suppresses cancer cells, but also regulates tumor microenvironment to facilitate tumor repression. In this review, we have outlined the current knowledge on epidemiological studies and clinical trials of vitamin D. Notably, wesummarized and discussed the anticancer action of vitamin D in cancer cells, cancer stem cells and stroma cells in tumor microenvironment, providing a better understanding of the role of vitamin D in cancer. | 3 | Estimation of carbon sinks in chemical weathering in a humid subtropical mountainous basin显示文摘The fluvial geochemistry of the mainstream and tributaries of the Zengjiang River was investigated,and the mass balance approach and deduction methods were used to estimate the uptake of atmospheric CO2 through rock chemical weathering.The results showed that the chemical runoff mainly consisted of HCO3-,Ca2+,Na+,and dissolved Si,and that silicate mineral weathering was significant,but carbonate mineral weathering was a minor source of dissolved loads in the Zengjiang River basin because of the low amount of interlayered carbonate rock strata in the catchment.The ion composition indicated that atmospheric CO2 was the primary erosive agent for rock chemical weathering in the Zengjiang River basin.The CO2 consumption fluxes caused by rock chemical weathering were(3.50-3.81) × 105 mol km-2 a-1,which is just lower than that in tropical and subtropical basalt and carbonate regions,and is much higher than that in temperate and cold-temperate regions,indicating that surficial chemical weathering processes in the humid and hot monsoon current influencing the low-middle latitude zone of the Northern Hemisphere constitutes a significant carbon sink in the global biogeochemical cycle. | TAO Zhen GAO QuanZhou WANG ZhenGang ZHANG ShengHua XIE ChenJi LIN PeiSong RUAN XiaoBing LI ShuHong MAO HaiRuo | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,35: | 15 |

| 6 | A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. | 8 | Soil Nutrient Variance by Slope Position in a Mollisol Farmland Area of Northeast China显示文摘In order to generate scientifically-based comparative information to improve fertilization efficiency and reduce nutrient loss, 610 samples of 122 soil profiles were collected at the 0–60 cm depth to compare soil nutrient contents including soil organic matter(SOM), total nitrogen(TN), total phosphorus(TP), available phosphorus(AP), and available potassium(AK) among different slope positions in a Mollisol farmland area of Northeast China. The contents of SOM and TN typically decreased with increased soil depth at back and bottom slope. Soil loss and deposition tended to decrease SOM and TN at the 0–20 cm soil depth on both the back slope and the slope bottom. The TP firstly decreased from 0–20 cm to 30–40 cm, and then not constantly increased at the back slope and the bottom slope. Due to the characteristics of soil nutrients and crop absorption, the contents of both AP and AK were typically the highest at the summit, followed by the slope bottom and the back slope in the 0–20 cm layer. In its first phase, JUNA aims at the direct measurements of^(25)Mg(p,γ)^(26)Al,^(19)F(p,α)^(16)O,^(13)C(α,n)^(16)O and ^(12)C(α,γ)^(16)O reactions. | 14 | Recent advances in molecular fluorescent probes for organic phosphate biomolecules recognition显示文摘Organic phosphate biomolecules(OPBs) are indispensable components of eukaryotes and prokaryotes,such as acting as the fundamental components of cell membranes and important substrates for nucleic acids. They play pivotal roles in various biological processes, such as energy conservation, metabolism,and signal modulation. Due to the difficulty of detection caused by variety OPBs, investigation of their respective physiological effects in organisms has been restrained by the lack of efficient tools. Many small fluorescent probes have been employed for selective detection and monitoring of OPBs in vitro or in vivo due to the advantages of tailored properties, biodegradability and in situ high temporal and spatial resolution imaging. In this review, we summarize the recent advances in fluorescent probes for OPBs,such as nucleotides, NAD(P)H, FAD/FMN and PS. | 17 | Cyclicity related to solar activity in lacustrine organic-rich shales and their significance to shale-oil reservoir formation显示文摘The formation mechanism of micron-to centimeter-scale sedimentary cycles in lacustrine shales is a hot topic of research,because these small-scale sedimentary cycles significantly influence shale-oil distribution heterogeneity.High-frequency paleoenvironmental evolution is an important controlling factor for the formation of small-scale sedimentary cycles.However,the driving factors of high-frequency paleoenvironmental evolution and the formation process of sedimentary cycles under its constraint remain speculative.In this study,which focuses on lacustrine shales,we find that the alternating deposition of variable thickness of organic-rich lamina(ORL)and silty-grained felsic lamina(SSFL)form sedimentary cycles on the micron to centimeter scale in the Chang 73 sub-member of the Yanchang Formation in the Ordos Basin.Based on detailed petrographic characterization,in-situ geochemical parameter testing,and high-resolution cycle analysis,the formation process of cyclical sedimentary records and related paleoenvironmental evolution are investigated.Three solar activity cycles were identified from the shales,namely the 360–500 yr,81–110 yr,and 30–57 yr cycles(cycles I,II,and III,respectively).Highfrequency paleoenvironmental evolution caused by solar activity induced lake-level fluctuation,which further controlled silty-grained sediment deposition and organic matter preservation in deep lake areas.Cycle I controlled relatively long-term lake-level fluctuation,driving several pairs of SSFL and ORL deposition at the centimeter scale.Cycles II and III were short-term cycles and acted on the millimeter to micrometer scale,further complicating the sedimentary strata forming during the period of lake-level fall induced by cycle I.The cyclic deposition of SSFL and ORL correspond to cycle III.Lake-level fluctuation influenced by cycle II mainly caused SSFL thickness variation in each lamina couplet.During the period of lake-level rise induced by cycle I,periods of lake level rise during cycles II,and III show cyclic variation in reducibility,and are not thought to control the supply of coarse-grained sediments in to the deep lake areas.Frequent lake-level fluctuation promotes lamina couplet formation in thickly-bedded shales,which creates favorable conditions for shale-oil accumulation.Oil produced from ORL can migrate-locally into dissolved feldspar porosity in SSFL and therefore is able to accumulate in shales,which creates high potential for future oil exploration in thickly-bedded lacustrine shales. | Miruo Lin Kelai Xi Yingchang Cao Rukai Zhu Xiaobing Niu Honggang Xin Weijiao Ma | 2023 | Geoscience Frontiers2023,14,5: | 1 |

| 20 | Experimental and computational investigation of transonic speed显示文摘The influence of the wing-tip vortex of leading aircraft on energy savings,quantified by formation aerodynamic force fraction of the following aircraft,is studied at transonic speed for a matrix of leading aircraft’s vortex locations.The research model adopts the hybrid formation of medium and large aircraft.The leading aircraft is scaled by 2.1%,and the following aircraft is scaled by 1.4%.An aerodynamic benefit 'map'is developed to determine the optimum location of the following aircraft relative to the leading aircraft wake and to compare with experimental results,thus validating the use of CFD for the formation flight at cruising speed.The response surface model of aerodynamic gain effect relative to formation parameters is established via numerical calculation and wind tunnel test.The optimal formation parameters and the setting criteria of the study model are optimized.Results show that the wing-tip vortex of large aircraft significantly increases lift and reduces drag on the medium-sized aircraft following it.Reduced drag slightly increases with the flow direction position.With the increase of flow direction distance,the peak area moves from 15%of wing-tip overlap to 20%of overlap.In addition,the maximum drag decreases about 16%,and the maximum lift increases about 12%.The lift drag ratio of the optimal position is increased by 27%,which is twice as large as that of the same scale ratio aircraft formation.Results show that the increase of lift is mainly caused by the increase of suction peak and suction range. | Yang TAO Neng XIONG Xiaobing WANG Jun LIN Zhiyong LIU Shang MA Junqiang WU | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,1: | 1 |
