1The Association of Maternal Body Composition and Dietary Intake with the Risk of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus during the Second Trimester in a Cohort of Chinese Pregnant Women显示文摘Objective To investigate the association of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM). Methods A total 154 GDM subjects and 981 controls were enrolled in a prospective cohort study in 11 hospitals from May 20, 2012 to December 31, 2013. Bioelectrical impedance analysis and dietary surveys were used to determine body composition and to evaluate the intake of nutrients in subjects at 21-24 weeks' gestation(WG). Logistic regression analysis was applied to explore the relationships of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of GDM morbidity. Results Age, pre-pregnant body weight(BW), and body mass index(BMI) were associated with increased risk of GDM. Fat mass(FM), fat mass percentage(FMP), extracellular water(ECW), BMI, BW, energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates at 21-24 WG were associated with an increased risk of GDM. In contrast, fat free mass(FFM), muscular mass(MM), and intracellular water(ICW) were associated with a decreased risk of GDM. 3Increased frequency and clinical significance of myeloidderived suppressor cells in human colorectal carcinoma显示文摘AIM:To investigate the frequency and clinical significance of the myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSC) in human colorectal carcinoma(CRC).METHODS:Samples of peripheral blood and tumor tissue from 49 CRC patients were analyzed.Mononuclear cells were isolated by Ficoll-Hypaque density gradient centrifugation and were subjected to a flow cytometrybased immunophenotypic analysis.RESULTS:A considerable increase in the percentage of CD33+HLA-DR-MDSCs was observed in the peripheral blood(1.89% ± 0.75%) and tumor tissues(2.99% ± 1.29%) of CRC patients as compared with that in theperipheral blood of healthy controls(0.54% ± 0.35%).This expanded CD33+HLA-DR-subset exhibited immature myeloid cell markers,but not lineage markers,and showed up-regulation of CD18/CD11b expression as compared with the MDSCs from healthy donors.Further studies showed that the MDSC proportion in CRC peripheral blood was correlated with nodal metastasis(P = 0.023),whereas that in tumor tissues was correlated with nodal/distant metastasis(P = 0.016/P = 0.047) and tumor stage(P = 0.028),suggesting the involvement of MDSCs in CRC tumor development.CONCLUSION:Characterization of MDSCs in CRC suggests the clinical significance of circulating and tumorinfiltrating MDSCs and may provide new insights into the CRC immunotherapy targeting MDSCs.Hong-Li Sun, Xin Zhou, Yi-Feng Xue Ke Wang, Yun-Feng ShenI Jing-Jue Mao Hong-Feng Guo Zong-Ning Miao 2012World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,25:21

5Feasibility of endoscopic treatment and predictors of lymph node metastasis in early gastric cancer显示文摘BACKGROUND Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) has been routinely performed in applicable early gastric cancer (EGC) patients as an alternative to conventional surgical operations that involve lymph node dissection. The indications for ESD have been recently expanded to include larger, ulcerated, and undifferentiated mucosal lesions, and differentiated lesions with slight submucosal invasion. The risk of lymph node metastasis (LNM) is the most important consideration when deciding on a treatment strategy for EGC. Despite the advantages over surgical procedures, lymph nodes cannot be removed by ESD. In addition, whether patients who meet the expanded indications for ESD can be managed safely remains controversial. AIM To determine whether the ESD indications are applicable to Chinese patients and to investigate the predictors of LNM in EGC. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed 12552 patients who underwent surgery for gastric cancer between June 2007 and December 2018 at the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University. A total of 1262 (10.1%) EGC patients were eligible for inclusion in this study. Data on the patients’ clinical, endoscopic, and histopathological characteristics were collected. The absolute and expanded indications for ESD were validated by regrouping the enrolled patients and determining the positive LNM results in each subgroup. Predictors of LNM in patients were evaluated by univariate and multivariate analyses. RESULTS LNM was observed in 182 (14.4%) patients. No LNM was detected in the patients who met the absolute indications (0/90). LNM occurred in 4/311 (1.3%) patients who met the expanded indications. According to univariate analysis, LNM was significantly associated with positive tumor marker status, medium (20-30 mm) and large (>30 mm) lesion sizes, excavated macroscopic-type tumors, ulcer presence, submucosal invasion (SM1 and SM2), poor differentiation, lymphovascular invasion (LVI), perineural invasion, and diffuse and mixed Lauren’s types. Multivariate analysis demonstrated SM1 invasion (odds ration [OR]= 2.285, P = 0.03), SM2 invasion (OR = 3.230, P < 0.001), LVI (OR = 15.702, P < 0.001), mucinous adenocarcinoma (OR = 2.823, P = 0.015), and large lesion size (OR = 1.900, P = 0.006) to be independent risk factors. CONCLUSION The absolute indications for ESD are reasonable, and the feasibility of expanding the indications for ESD requires further investigation. 8Ultrasonic-assisted Oxidation Leaching of Nickel Sulfide Concentrate显示文摘The feasibility of oxidation leaching process of nickel from nickel sulfide ore and the form of different components in the lixivium has been studied at first. The method of leaching nickel sulfide concentration directly by oxidants with existence of ultrasonic has been advanced. The process of leaching nickel from nickel sulfide concentration by using the system of persulfate and silver has been determined. The influence of different factors on the leaching rates of nickel,such as with and without ultrasonic,the concentration of Na2S2O8,liquid-solid ratio and the concentration of AgNO3 have been explored. The results show that:(1) in the oxidative leaching system,nickel can be leached completely as Ni2+ or NiSO4(aq.) from nickel sulfide concentration in theory;(2) the nicopyrite can not exist steadily in the persulfate acid leaching system,but Ni2+can. Meanwhile,sulfur may be existed steadily in the leaching process;(3) nicopyrite with much lower electrostatic potential may be leached earlier than chalcopyrite and sideropyrite;and(4) the overall reaction rate of the leaching process can be enhanced with ultrasonic radiation,but it does not change the mechanism of leaching. The more oxidant concentration or higher liquid-solid ratio is,the higher leaching percentage of nickel. The leaching percentage of nickel can be increased significantly by adding a small amount of AgNO3 during the leaching processes. 9Four kinds of ENU-induced white spot mice and chromosome locations of the mutant genes显示文摘Phenotype-driven is the name for an ap-proach used to study gene functions through mutagenesis, location and cloning of the mutant gene. In this study, 150 male C57BL/6J(B6) mice were treated with ENU and repro-duced a total offspring of 3860. Of these descendants, 210 exhibited mutation phenotypes by screening, and more than 10 of them are hereditable. Four kinds of mutant mice, named Wbct, W-1Bao, W-2Bao, and W-3Bao, showed dominant hereditary white spot mutation with partial albinism on their belly, distal limbs and tail terminal. To map these mutant genes, 39 microsatellites, equally distributed on the mouse genome and with difference between B6 and DBA/2J (D2), were selected to scan the genome after discrimination of the white spots in the F2 mice [(B6×D2)×D2]. It is found that, the log odds score (LODS) between W-1Bao and D5Mit168 is 0.56, and the LODS of W-1Bao and D5Mit352 is 4.47. With the gradual application of microsatellites D5Mit290, D5Mit312, D5Mit308 and D5Mit356 that are close to the mutant gene, and the number of F2 mice going up to 537, the mutant W-1Bao is located between D5Mit356 and D5Mit308 on chro-mosome 5, about 42.19 cM from the centromere. In the same way, W-2Bao and W-3Bao are mapped nearby W-1Bao, and Wbct is located on chromosome 1, about 41.6 cM from the centro-mere. 11Updated experiences with minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomy for esophageal cancer显示文摘AIM: To update our experiences with minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomy for esophageal cancer.METHODS: we retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 445 consecutive patients who underwent minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomy between January 2009 and July 2015 at the Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and used 103 patients who underwent open Mc Keown esophagectomy in the same period as controls. Among 375 patients who underwent total minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomy, 180 in the early period were chosen for the study of learning curve of total minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomy. These 180 minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomies performed by five surgeons were divided into three groups according to time sequence as group 1(n = 60), group 2(n = 60) and group 3(n = 60).RESULTS: Patients who underwent total minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomy had significantly less intraoperative blood loss than patients who underwent hybrid minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomy or open Mc Keown esophagectomy(100 ml vs 300 ml vs 200 ml, P = 0.001). However, there were no significant differences in operation time, number of harvested lymph nodes, or postoperative morbidity includingincidence of pulmonary complication and anastomotic leak between total minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomy, hybrid minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomy and open Mc Keown esophagectomy groups. There were no significant differences in 5-year survival between these three groups(60.5% vs 47.9% vs 35.6%, P = 0.735). Patients in group 1 had significantly longer duration of operation than those in groups 2 and 3. There were no significant differences in intraoperative blood loss, number of harvested lymph nodes, or postoperative morbidity including incidence of pulmonary complication and anastomotic leak between groups 1, 2 and 3.CONCLUSION: Total minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomy was associated with reduced intraoperative blood loss and comparable short term and long term survival compared with hybrid minimally invasive Mc Keown esophagectomy or open Mckeown esophagectomy. 12Chinese Herbal Medicine Combined with Entecavir for HBeAg Positive Chronic Hepatitis B:Study Protocol for a Multi-Center,Double-Blind Randomized-Controlled Trial显示文摘Background: The domestic prevalence of chronic hepatitis B(CHB) in China is 7.18% in 2006, imposing great societal healthcare burdens. Nucleot(s)ide analogues(NUCs) anti-hepatitis B virus(HBV) therapies are widely applied despite the relatively low rate of seroconversion and high risk of drug-resistant mutation. More effective treatments for CHB deserve further explorations. Combined therapy of NUCs plus Chinese herbal medicine(CHM) is widely accepted in China, which is recognized as a prospective alternative approach. The study was primarily designed to confirm the hypothesis that Tiaogan-Yipi Granule(调肝益脾颗粒, TGYP) or Tiaogan-Jianpi-Jiedu Granule(调肝健脾解毒颗粒, TGJPJD) plus entecavir tablet(ETV) was superior over ETV monotherapy in enhancing HBeA g loss rate. Methods: The study was a nationwide, large-scale, multi-center, double-blind, randomized, placebo-control ed trial with a designed duration of 108 weeks. A total of 16 hospitals and 596 eligible Chinese HBeA g positive CHB patients were enrolled from November 2012 to September 2013 and randomly allocated into 2 groups in 1:1 ratio via central randomization system: experimental group(EG) and control group(CG). Subjects in EG received CM formulae(TGYP or TGJPJD, 50 g per dose, twice daily) plus ETV tablet(or ETV placebo) 0.5 mg per day in the first 24 weeks(stage 1), and CHM granule plus ETV tablet(0.5 mg per day) from week 25 to 108(stage 2). Subjects in CG received CHM Granule placebo plus ETV tablet(0.5 mg per day) for 108 weeks throughout the trial. The assessments of primary outcomes(HBV serum markers and HBV-DNA) were conducted by a third-party College of American Pathologists(CAP) qualified laboratory. Adverse effects were observed in the hospitals of recruitment. Discussion: The study was designed to compare the curative effect of CM plus ETV and ETV monotherapy in respect of HBe Ag loss, which is recognized by the European Association for the Study of the Liver as 'a valuable endpoint'. We believe this trial could provide a reliable status for patients' 'journey' towards durable responses after treatment discontinuation. 13Influence of fault slip on mining-induced pressure and optimization ofroadway support design in fault-influenced zone显示文摘This paper presents an investigation on the characteristics of overlying strata collapse and mininginduced pressure in fault-influenced zone by employing the physical modeling in consideration of fault structure.The precursory information of fault slip during the underground mining activities is studied as well.Based on the physical modeling,the optimization of roadway support design and the field verification in fault-influenced zone are conducted.Physical modeling results show that,due to the combined effect of mining activities and fault slip,the mining-induced pressure and the extent of damaged rock masses in the fault-influenced zone are greater than those in the uninfluenced zone.The sharp increase and the succeeding stabilization of stress or steady increase in displacement can be identified as the precursory information of fault slip.Considering the larger mining-induced pressure in the fault-influenced zone,the new support design utilizing cables is proposed.The optimization of roadway support design suggests that the cables can be anchored in the stable surrounding rocks and can effectively mobilize the load bearing capacity of the stable surrounding rocks.The field observation indicates that the roadway is in good condition with the optimized roadway support design.Hongwei Wang Yaodong Jiang Sheng Xue Lingtao Mao Zhinan Lin Daixin Deng Dengqiang Zhang 2016Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2016,8,5:10
14Value of lung ultrasound score for evaluation of blast lung injury in goats显示文摘Purpose:To establish a severe blast lung injury model of goats and investigate the feasibility of lung ultrasonic score in the evaluation of blast lung injury.Methods:Twenty female healthy goats were randomly divided into three groups by different driving pressures:4.0 MPa group(n=4),4.5 MPa group(n=12)and 5.0 MPa group(n=4).The severe blast lung injury model of goats was established using a BST-I bio-shock tube.Vital signs(respiration,heart rate and blood pressure),lung ultrasound score(LUS),PO2/FiO2 and extravascular lung water(EVLW)were measured before injury(0 h)and at 0.5 h,3 h,6 h,9 h,12 h after injury.Computed tomography scan was performed before injury(0 h)and at 12 h after injury for dynamic monitoring of blast lung injury and measurement of lung volume.The correlation of LUS with PaO2/FiO2,EVLW,and lung injury ratio(lesion volume/total lung volume*100%)was analyzed.All animals were sacrificed at 12 h after injury for gross observation of lung injury and histopathological examination.Statistical analysis was performed by the SPSS 22.0 software.The measurement data were expressed as mean±standard deviation.The means of two samples were compared using independent-sample t-test.Pearson correlation analysis was conducted.Results:(1)At 12 h after injury,the mortality of goats was 0,41.67% and 100%in the 4.0 Mpa,4.5 MPa and 5.0 MPa groups,respectively;the area of pulmonary hemorrhage was 20.00%±13.14% in the 4.0 Mpa group and 42.14%±15.33% in the 4.5 MPa group.A severe lung shock injury model was established under the driving pressure of 4.5 MPa.(2)The respiratory rate,heart rate,LUS and EVLW were significantly increased,while PaO2/FiO2 was significantly reduced immediately after injury,and then they gradually recovered and became stabilized at 3 h after injury.(3)LUS was positively correlated with EVLW(3 h:r=-0.597,6 h:r=-0.698,9 h:r=-0.729;p<0.05)and lung injury ratio(12 h:r=-0.884,p<0.05),negatively correlated with PaO2/FiO2(3 h:r=-0.871,6 h:r=-0.637,9 h:r=-0.658;p<0.05).Conclusion:We established a severe blast lung injury model of goats using the BST-I bio-shock tube under the driving pressure of 4.5 MPa and confirmed that ultrasound can be used for quick evaluation and dynamic monitoring of blast lung injury.Yu-Qi Xue Chun-Shuang Wu Hua-Cai Zhang Juan Du Jian-Hui Sun An-Qiang Zhang Ling Zeng Mao Zhang Jian-Xin Jiang 2020Chinese Journal of Traumatology2020,23,1:9

16Optimized design and test for a pendulum suspension of the crop spray boom in dynamic conditions based on a six DOF motion simulator显示文摘Spray deposit distribution from a field sprayer is mainly affected by the boom movements when the tractor is driven over a rough soil surface,the pendulum suspension that used to reduce and control the movement of spray boom by isolating the boom from vibrations of the tractor will directly enhance uniform deposition of chemicals.However,how to match the parameters of the suspension with the properties of the boom is the key problem.The dynamic rigid-flexible coupling model of the virtual prototype of the spray boom suspension system was established by using ADAMS and ABAQUS software.An optimization of the suspension parameters for a large spay boom was carried out based on the optimal Latin hypercube design,radial basis function neural network,and multi-objective genetic algorithm NSGA-II.After modified parameters of the suspension,the travel of the sprayer on a typical field motion track was simulated based on a six DOF motion simulator,and the dynamic behavior of the boom suspension was measured.The results show that RMS of the measured boom roll angle and the boom center displacement for optimized solution were reduced by 14.76%and 12.43%compared with the original suspension.Finally,the inertial measurement unit(IMU)was used to measure the movements of the sprayer vehicle during the pesticide application on the Hongze Lake Farm,the experiment of field condition reproduced by using the six DOF motion simulator,the standard deviation of the roll angle and vibration displacement for the optimized sprayer boom are only 0.6382°and 62.279 mm respectively.The research provides theoretical basis and experimental method for parameter optimization of large scale boom suspension.Longfei Cui Hanping Mao Xinyu Xue Suming Ding Baiyu Qiao 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,3:9
17Current status of applying microwave-associated catalysis for the degradation of organics in aqueous phase – A review显示文摘Interactions between microwaves and certain catalysts can lead to efficient, energy-directed convergence of a relatively dispersed microwave field onto the reactive sites of the catalyst,which produces thermal or discharge effects around the catalyst. These interactions form'high-energy sites'(HeS) that promote energy efficient utilization and enhanced in situ degradation of organic pollutants. This article focuses on the processes occurring between microwaves and absorbing catalysts, and presents a critical review of microwave-absorbing mechanisms. This article also discusses aqueous phase applications of relevant catalysts(ironbased, carbon-based, soft magnetic, rare earth, and other types) and microwaves, special effects caused by the dimensions and structures of catalytic materials, and the optimization and design of relevant reactors for microwave-assisted catalysis of wastewater. 18Application of video-assisted thoracic surgery in the standard operation for thoracic tumors显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the short-term outcomes of video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for thoracic tumors. Methods: The data of 1,790 consecutive patients were retrospectively reviewed. These patients underwent VATS pulmonary resections, VATS esophagectomies, and VATS resections of mediastinal tumors or biopsies at the Cancer Institute & Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences between January 2009 and January 2012. Results: There were 33 patients converted to open thoracotomy (OT, 1.84%). The overall morbidity and mortality rate was 2.79% (50/1790) and 0.28% (5/1790), respectively. The overall hospitalization and chest tube duration were shorter in the VATS lobectomy group (n=949) than in the open thoracotomy (OT) lobectomy group (n=753). There were no significant differences in morbidity rate, mortality rate and operation time between the two groups. In the esophageal cancer patients, no significant difference was found in the number of nodal dissection, chest tube duration, morbidity rate, mortality rate, and hospital length of stay between the VATS esophagectomy group (n=81) and open esophagectomy group (n=81). However, the operation time was longer in the VATS esophagectomy group. In the thymoma patients, there was no significant difference in the chest tube duration, morbidity rate, mortality rate, and hospital length of stay between the VATS thymectomy group (n=41) and open thymectomy group (n=41). However, the operation time was longer in the VATS group. The median tumor size in the VATS thymectomy group was comparable with that in the OT group. Conclusions: In early-stage (I/II) non-small cell lung cancer patients who underwent lobectomies, VATS is comparable with the OT approach with similar short-term outcomes. In patients with resectable esophageal cancer, VATS esophagectomy is comparable with OT esophagectomy with similar morbidity and mortality. VATS thymectomy for Masaoka stage I and II thymoma is feasible and safe, and tumor size is not contraindicated. 19Effect of yellow rice wine on anti-aging ability in aged mice induced by D-galactose显示文摘The present study is focused on investigation of the health protective effect of yellow rice wine(YRW)in mice and the potential underlying mechanism.Symptoms of aging were induced in mice by using Dgalactose(D-gal),and different doses of YRW(4,8,and 12 mL/kg BW)were orally administrated to D-galtreated mice for a period of six weeks.The in vivo data obtained in the present study preliminary indicated that YRW markedly increased the activity of antioxidant enzymes and reduced the concentration of MDA both in the brain and liver.Furthermore,a forced swim test showed that moderate intake of YRW(8 mL/kg BW)significantly decreased the duration of immobility,reduced the blood content of urea nitrogen and lactic acid,and increased hepatic glycogen storage.Besides,results from the Morris water maze test suggested that YRW significantly reversed cognitive impairment and also alleviated neuroapoptosis in the experimental mice by regulating the gene expressions of Bax/Bcl-2 and caspase-3.The above results indicated YRW has a potential anti-aging effect in mice and provided us certain molecular evidence for this action.Rong Liu Zukang Fu Fengjie Zhang Qingzhong Mao Chunguang Luan Xinglin Han Jie Xue Deliang Wang Si Qin Feike Hao 2020Food Science and Human Wellness2020,9,2:8
20Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome.
