Permian integrative stratigraphy and timescale of China显示文摘A series of global major geological and biological events occurred during the Permian Period. Establishing a highresolution stratigraphic and temporal framework is essential to understand their cause-effect relationship. The official International timescale of the Permian System consists of three series(i.e., Cisuralian, Guadalupian and Lopingian in ascending order) and nine stages. In China, the Permian System is composed of three series(Chuanshanian, Yansingian and Lopingian) and eight stages, of which the subdivisions and definitions of the Chuanshanian and Yangsingian series are very different from the Cisuralian and Guadalupian series. The Permian Period spanned ~47 Myr. Its base is defined by the First Appearance Datum(FAD) of the conodont Streptognathodus isolatus at Aidaralash, Kazakhstan with an interpolated absolute age 298.9±0.15 Ma at Usolka, southern Urals, Russia. Its top equals the base of the Triassic System and is defined by the FAD of the conodont Hindeodus parvus at Meishan D section, southeast China with an interpolated absolute age 251.902±0.024 Ma. Thirty-five conodont, 23 fusulinid, 17 radiolarian and 20 ammonoid zones are established for the Permian in China, of which the Guadalupian and Lopingian conodont zones have been served as the standard for international correlation. The Permian δ13 Ccarbtrend indicates that it is characterized by a rapid negative shift of 3–5‰ at the end of the Changhsingian, which can be used for global correlation of the end-Permian mass extinction interval, but δ13 Ccarbrecords from all other intervals may have more or less suffered subsequent diagenetic alteration or represented regional or local signatures only. Permian δ18 Oapatitestudies suggest that an icehouse stage dominated the time interval from the late Carboniferous to Kungurian(late Cisuralian). However, paleoclimate began to ameriolate during the late Kungurian and gradually shifted into a greenhouse-dominated stage during the Guadalupian. The Changhsingian was a relatively cool stage, followed by a globally-recognizable rapid temperature rise of 8–10°C at the very end of the Changhsingian. The87 Sr/86 Sr ratio trend shows that their values at the beginning of the Permian were between 0.70800,then gradually decreased to the late Capitanian minimum 0.70680–0.70690, followed by a persistent increase until the end of the Permian with the value 0.70708. Magenetostratigraphy suggests two distinct stages separated by the Illawarra Reversal in the middle Wordian, of which the lower is the reverse polarity Kiaman Superchron and the upper is the mixed-polarity Illawarra Superchron. The end-Guadalupian(or pre-Lopingian) biological crisis occurred during the late Capitanian, when faunal changeovers of different fossil groups had different paces, but generally experienced a relatively long time from the Jinogondolella altudensis Zone until the earliest Wuchiapingian. The end-Permian mass extinction was a catastrophic event that is best constrained at the Meishan section, which occurred at 251.941±0.037 Ma and persisted no more than 61±48 kyr. After the major pulse at Bed 25, the extinction patterns are displayed differently in different sections. The global end-Guadalupian regression is manifested between the conodont Jinogondolella xuanhanensis and Clarkina dukouensis zones and the endChanghsingian transgression began in the Hindeodus changxingensis-Clarkina zhejiangensis Zone. The Permian Period is also characterized by strong faunal provincialism in general, which resulted in difficulties in inter-continental and inter-regional correlation of both marine and terrestrial systems. | Shuzhong SHEN Hua ZHANG Yichun ZHANG Dongxun YUAN Bo CHEN Weihong HE Lin MU Wei LIN Wenqian WANG Jun CHEN Qiong WU Changqun CAO Yue WANG Xiangdong WANG | 2019 | Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,1: | 9
Preparation and evaluation of α-Al2O3 supported lithium ion sieve membranes for Li^+ extraction显示文摘Spinel lithium manganese oxide ion-sieves have been considered the most promising adsorbents to extract Li^+ from brines and sea water. Here,we report a lithium ion-sieve which was successfully loaded onto tubular α-Al2 O3 ceramic substrates by dipping crystallization and post-calcination method. The lithium manganese oxide Li4 Mn5 O(12)was first synthesized onto tubular α-Al2 O3 ceramic substrates as the ion-sieve precursor(i.e.L-AA),and the corresponding lithium ion-sieve(i.e.H-AA) was obtained after acid pickling. The chemical and morphological properties of the ion-sieve were confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Both L-AA and H-AA showed characteristic peaks of α-Al2 O3 and cubic phase Li4 Mn5 O(12) and the peaks representing cubic phase could still exist after pickling. The lithium manganese oxide Li4 Mn5 O(12) could be uniformly loaded not only on the surface of α-Al2 O3 ubstrates but also inside the pores. Moreover,we found that the equilibrium adsorption capacity of H-AA was 22.9 mg·g^-1.After 12 h adsorption, the adsorption balance was reached. After 5 cycles of adsorption, the adsorption capacity of H-AA was 60.88% of the initial adsorption capacity. The process of H-AA adsorption for Li^+correlated with pseudo-second order kinetic model and Langmuir model.Adsorption thermodynamic parameters regarding enthalpy(△N), Gibbs free energy(△G) and entropy(AS) were calculated. For the dynamic adsorptiondesorption process of H-AA,the H-AA exhibited excellent adsorption performance to Li^+ with the Li^+ dynamic adsorption capacity of 9.74 mg·g^-1 and the Mn^2+dissolution loss rate of 0.99%.After 3 dynamic adsorption-desorption cycles,80% of the initial dynamic adsorption capacity was still kept. | Feng Xue Xiaoxian Zhang Yue Niu Chenhao Yi Shengui Ju Weihong Xing | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,9: | 6

Attack Simulation Model and Channel Statistics in Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks显示文摘In recent years, underwater acoustic wireless sensor networks have been used in many areas. There have been many field trials of acoustic propagation models and statistics for shallow water conditions. However, field trials are limited environmentally and, hence, not widely accepted.Simulations of the impulse response of a shallow underwater acoustic channel allows less expensive system tests that are reproducable. This paper presents a shallow water acoustic channel model based on the actual acoustic propagation characteristics with path attenuation, ambient noise, multiple paths, and Doppler effects. The second-order statistical characteristics of the simulation model are verified with the autocorrelations and crosscorrelations of the quadrature components and the complex envelopes of channel impulse responses. The channel model is implemented in Matlab with the results showing that the absorption coefficient and path losses are both dependent on the frequencies and propagation distances and that the path gain can be improved with Light of Sight (LOS) and short range acoustic propagation.Analysis of the channel impulse response and the frequency response that the zero-order Bessel function of first kind can be used to describe the correlation functions for the impulse response. The shallow underwater acoustic channel is time-varying and can not be modeled as a wide-sense stationary-uncorrelated scattering channel. | Nan Jing Weihong Bi Qing Yue | 2011 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2011,16,6: | 2

Paclitaxel liposome for injection (Lipusu) plus cisplatin versus gemcitabine plus cisplatin in the first-line treatment of locally advanced or metastatic lung squamous cell carcinoma: A multicenter, randomized, open-label, parallel controlled clinical study显示文摘Background:Lipusu is the first commercialized liposomal formulation of pacli-taxel and has demonstrated promising efficacy against locally advanced lung squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC)in a small-scale study. Here,we conducted a multicenter, randomized, phase 3 study to compare the efficacy and safety of cis-platin plus Lipusu(LP)versus cisplatin plus gemcitabine(GP)as first-line treat-ment in locally advanced or metastatic LSCC.Methods:Patients enrolled were aged between 18 to 75 years, had locally advanced(clinical stage IIIB,ineligible for concurrent chemoradiation or surgery)or metastatic(Stage IV)LSCC,had no previous systemic chemother-apy and at least one measurable lesion as per the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors(version 1.1)before administration of the trial drug. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFS).The secondary endpoints included objective response rate(ORR),disease control rate(DCR),overall survival(OS),and safety profiles. To explore the possible predictive value of plasma cytokines for LP treatment, plasma samples were collected from the LP group at baseline and first efficacy evaluation time and were then subjected to analysis by 45-Plex ProcartaPlex Panel 1 to detect the presence of 45 cytokines using the Luminex xMAP technology. The correlation between treatment outcomes and dynamic changes in the levels of cytokines were evaluated in preliminary analyses. Results:The median duration of follow-up was 15.4 months.237 patients in the LP group and 253 patients in the GP group were included in the per protocol set(PPS).In the PPS,the median PFS was 5.2 months versus 5.5 months in the LP and GP group(hazard rtio[HR]:1.03,P=0.742)respectively.The median OS was 14.6 months versus 12.5 months in the LP and GP group(HR:0.83,P=0.215).The ORR(41.8%versus 45.9%,P=0.412)and DCR(90.3%versus 88.1%,P=0.443)were also similar between the LP and GP group.A significantly lower proportion of patients in the LP group experienced adverse events(AEs)leading to treatment interruptions(10.9%versus 26.4%,P<0.001)or treatment termination(14.3%versus 23.1%,P=0.011).The analysis of cytokine levels in the LP group showed that low baseline levels of 27 cytokines were associated with an increased ORR,and 15 cytokines were associated with improved PFS,with 14 cytokines, including TNF-a,IFN-y,IL-6,and IL-8,demonstrating an overlapping trend. Conclusion:The LP regimen demonstrated similar PFS,OS,ORR and DCR as the GP regimen for patients with locally advanced or metastatic LSCC but had more favorable toxicity profiles. The study also identified a spectrum of different cytokines that could be potentially associated with the clinical benefit in patients who received the LP regimen. | Jie Zhang Yueyin Pan Qin Shi Guojun Zhang Liyan Jiang Xiaorong Dong Kangsheng Gu Huijuan Wang Xiaochun Zhang Nong Yang Yuping Li Jianping Xiong Tienan Yi Min Peng Yong Song Yun Fan Jiuwei Cui Gongyan Chen Wei Tan Aimin Zang Qisen Guo Guangqiang Zhao Ziping Wang Jianxing He Wenxiu Yao Xiaohong Wu Kai Chen Xiaohua Hu Chunhong Hu Lu Yue Da Jiang Guangfa Wang Junfeng Liu Guohua Yu Junling Li Jianling Bai Wenmin Xie Weihong Zhao Lihong Wu Caicun Zhou | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,1: | 1
Zinc-finger protein 382 antagonises CDC25A and ZEB1 signaling pathway in breast cancer显示文摘Our previous studies found that Zinc-finger protein 382(ZNF382)played as a tumor suppressor gene in esophageal and gastric cancers, and a positive correlation between the high expression of ZNF382 and better outcome in breast cancer patients. However, the biological roles and mechanisms of ZNF382 in breast cancer remains unclear. We detected ZNF382 expression by reverse-transcription PCR(RT-PCR)and real-time quantitative PCR(qRT-PCR)in breast cancer cells and tissues, and explored the impacts and mechanisms of ectopic ZNF382 expression in breast cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, respectively. Our results revealed that ZNF382 was significantly down-regulated in breast cancer tissues compared with adjacent non-cancer tissues.Restoration of ZNF382 expression in silenced breast cancer cells not only inhibited tumor cell colony formation, viability, migration and invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal-transition(EMT),but also induced apoptosis and G0/G1 arrest. In conclusion,ZNF382 could induce G0/G1 cell cycle arrest through inhibiting CDC25A signaling, and, inhibit cell migration, invasion and EMT by antagonizing ZEB1 signaling in breast cancer cells. | Shuman Li Xiaoqian He Yan Wang Weihong Chen Ran Sun Shaorong Tian Sanxiu He Chunyun Pu Chen Li Dishu Zhou Yu Jiang Qian Tao Lili Li Lin Ye Yue Wu Weiyan Peng Tingxiu Xiang | 2023 | Genes & Diseases2023,10,2: | 1

Framework nucleic acid-based confined enzyme cascade for efficient synergistic cancer therapy in vivo显示文摘Artificial enzyme cascade systems with confinement effect are highly important in synthetic biology and biomedicine.Herein,a framework nucleic acid-based confined enzyme cascade(FNA-CEC)for synergistic cancer therapy in vivo was developed. The FNA-CEC consisted of glucose oxidase and horseradish peroxidase precisely assembled on an addressable DNA tetrahedron scaffold within few nanometers.Glucose oxidase(GOx)can trigger efficient glucose depletion for tumor starvation therapy, and increase the local concentration of H_(2)O_(2) in situ for enhanced downstream horseradish peroxidase(HRP)-activated prodrug therapy.Due to the spatial-confinement on DNA tetrahedron scaffold, the efficiency of intermediate metabolites transportation between the enzyme cascades was improved.Moreover,FNA-CEC was applied for efficient synergistic cancer therapy in vitro and in vivo.As a simple and efficient approach, the FNA-CEC is expected to expand the toolbox of technologies in synthetic biology and biomedicine. | Gezhi Kong Meng Zhang Mengyi Xiong Mei Chen Chan Yang Yan Zhao Yue Yang Zilong Zhao Zhi-Ling Song Liang Gong Guoliang Ke Xiao-Bing Zhang Weihong Tan | 2021 | Science China Chemistry2021,64,4: | 0
Advances in air pollution control for key industries in China during the 13th five-year plan显示文摘Industrial development is an essential foundation of the national economy, but the industry is also the largest source of air pollution,of which power plants, iron and steel, building materials, and other industries emit large amounts of pollutants. Therefore, the Chinese government has promulgated a series of stringent emission regulations, and it is against this backdrop that research into air pollution control technologies for key industrial sectors is in full swing. In particular, during the 13th Five-Year Plan, breakthroughs have been made in pollution control technology for key industrial sectors.A multi-pollutant treatment technology system of desulfurization, denitrification, and dust collection, which applies to key industries such as power plants, steel, and building materials, has been developed.High-performance materials for the treatment of different pollutants, such as denitrification catalysts and desulfurization absorbers, were developed. At the same time,multi-pollutant synergistic removal technologies for flue gas in various industries have also become a hot research topic, with important breakthroughs in the synergistic removal of NO_(x),SO_(x),and Hg.Due to the increasingly stringent emission standards and regulations in China, there is still a need to work on the development of multi-pollutant synergistic technologies and further research and development of synergistic abatement technologies for CO_(2) to meet the requirements of ultra-low emissions in industrial sectors. | Xuecheng Wu Yanping Yang Yue Gong Zhiwen Deng Ying Wang Weihong Wu Chenghang Zheng Yongxin Zhang | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,1: | 0
Highly pathogenic coronavirus N protein aggravates inflammation by MASP-2-mediated lectin complement pathway overactivation显示文摘Excessive inflammatory responses contribute to the pathogenesis and lethality of highly pathogenic human coronaviruses, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. In this study, the N proteins of highly pathogenic human coronaviruses, including severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV),middle east respiratory syndrome coronavirus(MERS-CoV)and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),were found to bind MASP-2,a key serine protease in the lectin pathway of complement activation, resulting in excessive complement activation by potentiating MBL-dependent MASP-2 activation, and the deposition of MASP-2,C4b,activated C3 and C5b-9.Aggravated inflammatory lung injury was observed in mice infected with adenovirus expressing the N protein.Complement hyperactivation was also observed in SARS-CoV-2-infected patients.Either blocking the N protein:MASP-2 interaction,MASP-2 depletion or suppressing complement activation can significantly alleviate N protein-induced complement hyperactivation and lung injury in vitro and in vivo.Altogether, these data suggested that complement suppression may represent a novel therapeutic approach for pneumonia induced by these highly pathogenic coronaviruses. | Ting Gao Lin Zhu Hainan Liu Xiaopeng Zhang Tingting Wang Yangbo Fu Hongzhen Li Qincai Dong Yong Hu Zhang Zhang Jing Jin Zijing Liu Weihong Yang Yaoning Liu Yanwen Jin Kaitong Li Yongjiu Xiao Junli Liu Huailong Zhao Yue Liu Ping Li Jibo Song Lu Zhang Yuwei Gao Sisi Kang Shoudeng Chen Qingjun Ma Xiuwu Bian Wei Chen Xuan Liu Qing Mao Cheng Cao | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,10: | 0

Thermal-annealing-regulated plasmonic enhanced fluorescence platform enables accurate detection of antigen/antibody against infectious diseases显示文摘Plasmonic enhanced fluorescence(PEF)technology is a powerful strategy to improve the sensitivity of immunofluorescence microarrays(IFMA),however, current approaches to constructing PEF platforms are either expensive/time-consuming or reliant on specialized instruments. Here,we develop a completely alternative approach relying on a two-step protocol that includes the self-assembly of gold nanoparticles(GNPs)at the water–oil interface and subsequent annealing-assisted regulation of gold nanogap. Our optimized thermal-annealing GNPs(TA-GNP)platform generates adequate hot spots, and thus produces high-density electromagnetic coupling, eventually enabling 240-fold fluorescence enhancement of probed dyes in the near-infrared region. For clinical detection of human samples,TA-GNP provides super-high sensitivity and low detection limits for both hepatitis B surface antigen and SARS-CoV-2 binding antibody, coupled with a much-improved detection dynamic range up to six orders of magnitude. With fast detection, high sensitivity, and low detection limit,TA-GNP could not only substantially improve the outcomes of IFMA-based precision medicine but also find applications in fields of proteomic research and clinical pathology. | Ying Yue Jingjie Nan Yuanyuan Che Hongqin Xu Weihong Sun Feiran Zhang Lei Wang Wei Xu Junqi Niu Shoujun Zhu Junhu Zhang Bai Yang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,2: | 0
