| 1 | Plant-derived phosphocholine facilitates cellular uptake of anti-pulmonary fibrotic HJT-sRNA-m7显示文摘Pulmonary fibrosis, a progressive chronic disease with a high mortality rate, has limited treatment options. Currently, lung transplantation remains the only effective treatment. Here we report that a small RNA, HJT-sRNA-m7, from a Chinese herbal medicine Hong Jing Tian(HJT, RHODIOHAE CRENULATAE RADIX ET RHIZOMA, Rhodiola crenulata) can effectively reduce the expressions of fibrotic hallmark genes and proteins both in alveolar in vitro and in mouse lung tissues in vivo. We also discovered over one hundred oil-soluble chemicals from HJT decoctions, most of which are found in lipid extracts from other Chinese herbals decoctions, including Pu Gong Ying(PGY, TARAXACI HERBA, Taraxacum mongolicum), Chuan Xin Lian(CXL, changed to 'ANDROGRAPHIS HERBA, Andrographis paniculata'), and Jin Yin Hua(JYH, lonicera japonica or Honeysuckle). We identified the active component in these decoctions as two forms of phosphocholines, PC(18:0/18:2) and PC(16:0/18:2). These PCs potentially could form liposomes with small RNAs to enter human alveolar and gastric cells. On this basis, the host protection mobile agent protection technology is selected, and a method to enhance the security protection of mobile agents (referred to as IEOP method) is proposed. The method first encrypts the mobile agent code using the encryption function, and then encapsulates the encrypted mobile agent with the improved EOP protocol IEOP, and then traces the suspicious execution result. | 5 | Dynamical decoupling of electron spins in phosphorus-doped silicon显示文摘Quantum coherence is an important enabling feature underpinning quantum computation. However, because of couplings with its noisy surrounding environment, qubits suffer from the decoherence effects. The dynamical decoupling (DD) technique uses pulse-induced qubit flips to effectively mitigate couplings between qubits and environment. Optimal DD eliminates dephasing up to a given order with the minimum number of pulses. In this paper, we first introduce our recent work on prolonging electron spin coherence in γ-irradiated malonic acid crystals and analyze different decoherence mechanisms in this solid system. Then we focus on electron spin relaxation properties in another system, phosphorous-doped silicon (Si:P) crystals. These properties have been investigated by pulse electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). We also investigate the performance of the dynamical decoupling technique on this system. | 6 | Effect of cold deformation on corrosion fatigue behavior of nickel-free high nitrogen austenitic stainless steel for coronary stent application显示文摘Due to the excellent mechanical properties, good corrosion resistance, high biocompatibility and nickelfree character, the high nitrogen nickel-free austenitic stainless steel(HNASS) becomes an ideally alternative material for coronary stents. Stent implantation works in harsh blood environment after a balloon dilatation, i.e., the material is used in a corrosive environment with a permanent deformation. The present study attempts to investigate effects of pre-straining on high-cycle fatigue behavior and corrosion fatigue behavior of HNASS in Hank's solution and the relevant mechanism for coronary stents application. It is found that higher pre-straining on HNASS results in higher strength and maintains almost same corrosion resistance. Fatigue limit of 0% HNASS is 550 MPa, while corrosion fatigue limit is 475 MPa. And improvement in fatigue limit of 20% and 35% pre-strained HNASS is in comparison with the 0% HNASS, while corrosion would undermine the fatigue behavior of HNASS. In a suitable range, the prestraining had a beneficial effect on corrosion fatigue strength of HNASS, such as nearly 300 MPa improved with 20% cold deformation. | 7 | In vitro and in vivo studies on the biodegradable behavior and bone response of Mg69Zn27Ca4 metal glass for treatment of bone defect显示文摘In the present work, the biodegradable behavior, cytocompatibility and osteogenesis activity of a Mg69Zn27Ca4 metal glass were investigated. Electrochemical test, immersion test, cytotoxicity test and histopathological evaluation were carried out. The results showed that there was a dense protective layer formed on the surface of Mg69Zn27Ca4 metal glass which could inhibit the degradation process in the Hank’s solution. In vitro cytotoxicity test showed that Mg69Zn27Ca4 metal glass had good biocompatibility. Histopathological evaluation showed that the degradation of Mg69Zn27Ca4 metal glass could promote the new bone formation with no obvious inflammatory reactions. After 2 months implantation, the diameter of the bone defect was reduced from the original φ6 mm to φ3.35 ± 0.40 mm with the degradation of Mg69Zn27Ca4 metal glass. As of now,a total of 24 TLPs have been installed worldwide with 3 more to be installed in the near future and 5 more under design. Most of these installations are in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM). Water depths for these TLP installations range from 150 m to 1 600 m. It is highly expected that China will have her first TLP designed,fabricated,and installed in the very near future. | 9 | TiO_2-doped Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles as high-performance Fenton-like catalyst for dye decoloration显示文摘Fenton reaction based on Fe2+-H2O2 system has been widely applied in water remediation, but the obvious drawbacks largely hinder its practical uses. Alternatively, heterogeneous nanomaterials with proper surface modification could be used as Fenton-like catalysts. Surface doping of Ti O2 could concentrate the pollutants surrounding the Fe3O4 catalyst, which might benefit the catalytic performance of Fe3O4. Herein, we reported that Ti O2-doped Fe3O4 nanoparticles(NPs) could be used as high-performance Fenton-like catalyst for dye decoloration in near neutral environment, where the doping of Ti O2 on Fe3O4 surface dramatically improved the catalytic activity of Fe3O4 in Fenton-like reaction. Ti O2-doped Fe3O4 NPs catalyzed the decomposition of H2O2 to oxidize methylene blue without external energy supply, resulting in effective decoloration. Ti O2-doped Fe3O4 NPs showed high catalytic activity under various p H values and even in the presence of radical scavenger. More catalysts and H2O2 would facilitate the decoloration. At higher temperature, the decoloration became faster and more effective. | 11 | Tranexamic acid for acute intracerebral haemorrhage growth based on imaging assessment (TRAIGE): a multicentre, randomised, placebo- controlled trial显示文摘Background Studies show tranexamic acid can reduce the risk of death and early neurological deterioration after intracranial haemorrhage.We aimed to assess whether tranexamic acid reduces haematoma expansion and improves outcome in intracerebral haemorrhage patients susceptible to haemorrhage expansion.Methods We did a prospective,double-blind,randomised,placebo-controlled trial at 10 stroke centres in China.Acute supratentorial intracerebral haemorrhage patients were eligible if they had indication of haemorrhage expansion on admission imaging(eg,spot sign,black hole sign or blend sign),and were treatable within 8 hours of symptom onset.Patients were randomly assigned(1:1)to receive either tranexamic acid or a matching placebo.The primary outcome was intracerebral haematoma growth(>33% relative or>6 mL absolute)at 24 hours.Clinical outcomes were assessed at 90 days.Results Of the 171 included patients,124(72.5%)were male,and the mean age was 55.9±11.6 years.89 patients received tranexamic acid and 82 received placebo.The primary outcome did not differ significantly between the groups:36(40.4%)patients in the tranexamic acid group and 34(41.5%)patients in the placebo group had intracranial haemorrhage growth(OR 0.96,95% CI 0.52 to 1.77,p=0.89).The proportion of death was lower in the tranexamic acid treatment group than placebo group(8.1%vs 10.0%),but there were no significant differences in secondary outcomes including absolute intracranial haemorrhage growth,death and dependency.Conclusions Among patients susceptible to haemorrhage expansion treated within 8 hours of stroke onset,tranexamic acid did not significantly prevent intracerebral haemorrhage growth.Larger studies are needed to assess safety and efficacy of tranexamic acid in intracerebral haemorrhage patients. | Jingyi Liu Ximing Nie Hongqiu Gu Qi Zhou Haixin Sun Ying Tan Dacheng Liu Lina Zheng Jiahui Zhao Yan Wang Yibin Cao Haomeng Zhu Yunpeng Zhang Lijin Yi Yuehua Pu Miao Wen Zhonghua Yang Shengjun Sun Wenzhi Wang Xingquan Zhao Liping Liu Yongjun Wang | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,2: | 3 |

| 13 | Human activities and elevational constraints restrict ranging patterns of snub-nosed monkeys in a mountainous refuge显示文摘Both natural conditions and anthropogenic factors affect the survivability,distribution,and population density of wildlife.To understand the extent and how these factors drive species distributions,a detailed description of animal movement patterns in natural habitats is needed.In this study,we used satellite telemetry to monitor elevational ranges favored by endangered golden snub-nosed monkeys(Rhinopithecus roxellana),in the Qinling Mountains,central China.We investigated the abundance and distribution of food resources through sampling vegetation quadrats at different elevations and sampled anthropogenic activities using field surveys.Our results indicated that although there was no significant variation in food resources between low-(<1500 m)and middle-elevations(1500–2200 m),monkeys were found most often in areas above 1500 m,where there was less anthropogenic development(e.g.houses and roads);however,monkeys rarely ranged above 2200 m and had limited food availability at this altitude.There was limited human disturbance at this elevation.We suggest that both human activity and ecological constraints(i.e.food resources)have considerable effects on elevational use of R.roxellana in the Qinling Mountains.This study highlights the critical roles these factors can play in shaping the vertical distribution of high-altitude primates.This research provides useful insights for habitat-based conservation plans in which human disturbance management and habitat restoration should be prioritized. | Pengzhen HUANG Kun BIAN Zhipang HUANG Qi Li Derek WDUNN Gu FANG Jiahui LIU Mengyao WANG Xianfeng YANG Ruliang PAN Cunlao GAO Kaichuang SI Baoguo LI Xiaoguang QI | 2021 | Integrative Zoology2021,16,2: | 3 |
| 14 | Targeted Ptpn11 deletion in mice reveals the essential role of SHP2 in osteoblast differentiation and skeletal homeostasis显示文摘The maturation and function of osteoblasts(OBs)rely heavily on the reversible phosphorylation of signaling proteins.To date,most of the work in OBs has focused on phosphorylation by tyrosyl kinases,but little has been revealed about dephosphorylation by protein tyrosine phosphatases(PTPases).SHP2(encoded by PTPN11)is a ubiquitously expressed PTPase.PTPN11 mutations are associated with both bone and cartilage manifestations in patients with Noonan syndrome(NS)and metachondromatosis(MC),although the underlying mechanisms remain elusive.Here,we report that SHP2 deletion in bone gamma-carboxyglutamate protein-expressing(Bglap+)bone cells leads to massive osteopenia in both trabecular and cortical bones due to the failure of bone cell maturation and enhanced osteoclast activity,and its deletion in Bglap+chondrocytes results in the onset of enchondroma and osteochondroma in aged mice with increased tubular bone length.Mechanistically,SHP2 was found to be required for osteoblastic differentiation by promoting RUNX2/OSTERIX signaling and for the suppression of osteoclastogenesis by inhibiting STAT3-mediated RANKL production by osteoblasts and osteocytes.These findings are likely to explain the compromised skeletal system in NS and MC patients and to inform the development of novel therapeutics to combat skeletal disorders. | Lijun Wang Huiliang Yang Jiahui Huang Shaopeng Pei Liyun Wang Jian Q.Feng Dian Jing Hu Zhao Henry M.Kronenberg Douglas C.Moore Wentian Yang | 2021 | Bone Research2021,9,1: | 3 |

| 16 | Efficacy analysis of Cheng's GIRAFFE reconstruction after proximal gastrectomy for adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction显示文摘Objective:Reconstruction of the digestive tract for adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction(AEG)is in dispute.This study evaluated Cheng’s gastric tube interposition esophagogastrostomy with reconstruction of His angle and fundus(Cheng’s GIRAFFE anastomosis)in laparoscopic/open proximal gastrectomy for Siewert typeⅡAEG,which was performed at Zhejiang Cancer Hospital and the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University.Here,we discuss the preliminary results of gastric emptying and anti-reflux.Methods:From a retrospective database,74 patients with advanced Siewert typeⅡAEG underwent curative proximal gastrectomy with GIRAFFE anastomosis,and their gastric emptying and anti-reflux outcomes were evaluated by the Reflux Disease Questionnaire(RDQ)score,nuclide gastric emptying,24-h impedance-pH monitoring and gastroscopy.Results:Seventy-four patients successfully completed proximal partial gastrectomy with Cheng’s GIRAFFE esophagogastric anastomosis.RDQ score six months after the operation was 2.2±2.5.Results of nuclide gastric emptying examinations showed that the gastric half-emptying time was 67.0±21.5 min,the 1-h residual rate was(52.2±7.7)%,the 2-h residual rate was(36.4±5.1)%,and the 3-h residual rate was(28.8±3.6)%;24-h impedance-p H monitoring revealed that the mean De Meester score was 5.8±2.9.Reflux esophagitis was observed by gastroscopy in 7 patients six months after surgery.Conclusions:Cheng’s GIRAFFE anastomosis is safe and feasible for Siewert typeⅡAEG. | Zhiyuan Xu Can Hu Yanqiang Zhang Ling Huang Litao Yang Jianfa Yu Pengfei Yu Jiahui Chen Yian Du Xiangdong Cheng | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2022,34,3: | 3 |

| 19 | Porous silicon carbide coated with tantalum as potential material for bone implants显示文摘Porous silicon carbide(SiC)has a specific biomorphous microstructure similar to the trabecular microstructure of human bone.Compared with that of bioactive ceramics,such as calcium phosphate,SiC does not induce spontaneous interface bonding to living bone.In this study,bioactive tantalum(Ta)metal deposited on porous SiC scaffolds by chemical vapour deposition was investigated to accelerate osseointegration and improve the bonding to bones.Scanning electron microscopy indicated that the Ta coating evenly covered the entire scaffold structure.Energy-dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the coating consisted of Ta phases.The bonding strength between the Ta coating and the SiC substrate is 88.4MPa.The yield strength of porous SiC with a Ta coating(pTa)was 45.862.9MPa,the compressive strength was 61.463.2MPa and the elasticmodulus was4.8GPa.When MG-63 human osteoblasts were co-cultured with pTa,osteoblasts showed good adhesion and spreading on the surface of the pTa and its porous structure,which showed that it has excellent bioactivity and cyto-compatibility.To further study the osseointegration properties of pTa.PTa and porous titanium(pTi)were implanted into the femoral neck of goats for 12weeks,respectively.The Van-Gieson staining of histological sections results that the pTa group had better osseointegration than the pTi group.These results indicate that coating bioactive Ta metal on porous SiC scaffolds could be a potential material for bone substitutes. | Zhijie Ma Jingyu Li Fang Cao Jiahui Yang Rong Liu Dewei Zhao | 2020 | Regenerative Biomaterials2020,7,5: | 3 |
| 20 | Synergistic effect enhances the peroxidase-like activity in platinum nanoparticle-supported metal—organic framework hybrid nanozymes for ultrasensitive detection of glucose显示文摘The metal—organic frameworks(MOFs)are expected as ideal biomimetic enzymes for colorimetric glucose detection because of their large surface areas,well defined pore structures,tunable chemical composition,and multi-functional sites.However,the intrinsically chemical instability and low mimetic enzyme activity of MOFs hinder the application of them in imitating the enzyme reactions.In this work,we demonstrated a metal-MOF synergistic catalysis strategy,by loading Pt nanoparticles(Pt NPs)on MIL-88B-NH2(Fe-MOF)to increase peroxidase-like activity for the detection of glucose.The induced electrons transfer from Pt atom to Fe atom accelerated the redox cycling of Fe^(3+)/Fe^(2+),improved the overall efficiency of the peroxidase-like reaction,and enabled the efficient and robust colorimetric glucose detection,which was proved by both experiments and density functional theory(DFT)calculation.Additionally,the sensitivity and chemical stability of this synergistic effect strategy to detect the glucose are not affected by the complex external factors,which represented a great potential in fast,easy,sensitive,and specific recognition of clinical diabetes. | Jing Li Jie Zhao Shengqiang Li Yang Chen Weiqiang Lv Jiahui Zhang Libing Zhang Zhen Zhang Xiaoquan Lu | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,12: | 2 |
