| 3 | A Summary and Evaluation of Current Evidence for Myocardial Infarction with Chinese Medicine显示文摘Objective: To provide evidence-based recommendations for clinical application and provoke thoughts for future researchers by conducting a comprehensive summary and evaluation of the current evidence profile for the role of Chinese medicine(CM) in treating myocardial infarction(MI). Methods: Online databases including Pub Med, EMBase, Cochrane Library, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), Chinese Biomedical Medicine(CBM), VIP Journal Integration Platform, and Wanfang database were systematically searched for literatures on CM in treating MI. After screening, studies were categorized into 5 types, i.e. systematic review(SR), randomized controlled trial(RCT), observational study, case report and basic research. General information was abstracted, and the quality levels of these studies and their conclusions were summarized and assessed. Results: A total of 452 studies including 10 SRs, 123 RCTs, 47 observational studies, 28 case reports, and 244 basic researches were selected. Clinical studies centered primarily on herbal decoction and mostly were not rigorously performed. High-quality studies were predominantly on Chinese patent medicines(CPMs) such as Danshen Injection(丹参注射液), Shenmai Injection(参麦注射液), Shengmai Injection(生脉注射液) and Qishen Yiqi Dripping Pills(芪参益气滴丸). The most frequently observed pattern of drug combination was decoction plus injection. Results of SRs and clinical studies showed that CM may reduce mortality, decrease risk of complication, reduce myocardial injury, improve cardiac function and inhibit ventricular remodeling. Findings from basic researches also supported the positive role of CM in reducing infarct size and myocardial injury, promoting angiogenesis, preventing ventricular remodeling and improving cardiac function. According to the current evidence body, CM has proven effects in the prevention and treatment of MI. It is also found that the effects of CPMs vary with indications. For instance, Shenmai Injection has been found to be especially effective for reducing the incidence of acute clinical events, while CPMs with qi-nourishing and bloodcirculating properties have been proven to be effective in inhibiting ventricular remodeling. High quality evidence supports the use of CM injection for acute MI and CPM for secondary prevention. Reports on adverse events and other safety outcomes associated with CM for MI are scarce. Conclusions: Sufficient evidence supported the use of CM as an adjuvant to Western medicine for preventing and treating MI. The choice of drug use varies with disease stage and treatment objective. | 4 | miR-93-5p Transferred by Exosomes Promotes the Proliferation of Esophageal Cancer Cells via Intercellular Communication by Targeting PTEN显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationship between plasma miR-93-5p and the risk of esophageal cancer, as well as the influence of miR-93-5p on the biological function of esophageal cancer cells,exerted through exosomes.Methods The expression of plasma miR-93-5p in esophageal cancer patients and healthy controls was analysed by real-time quantitative PCR. The influence of miR-93-5p on the risk and prognosis of esophageal carcinoma was analyzed by conditional logistic regression and survival analysis. The effect of miR-93-5p on the biological function of recipient cells was investigated by establishing an in vitro donor cell co-culture model. | 5 | Permian integrative stratigraphy and timescale of China显示文摘A series of global major geological and biological events occurred during the Permian Period. Establishing a highresolution stratigraphic and temporal framework is essential to understand their cause-effect relationship. The official International timescale of the Permian System consists of three series(i.e., Cisuralian, Guadalupian and Lopingian in ascending order) and nine stages. In China, the Permian System is composed of three series(Chuanshanian, Yansingian and Lopingian) and eight stages, of which the subdivisions and definitions of the Chuanshanian and Yangsingian series are very different from the Cisuralian and Guadalupian series. The Permian Period spanned ~47 Myr. Its base is defined by the First Appearance Datum(FAD) of the conodont Streptognathodus isolatus at Aidaralash, Kazakhstan with an interpolated absolute age 298.9±0.15 Ma at Usolka, southern Urals, Russia. Its top equals the base of the Triassic System and is defined by the FAD of the conodont Hindeodus parvus at Meishan D section, southeast China with an interpolated absolute age 251.902±0.024 Ma. Thirty-five conodont, 23 fusulinid, 17 radiolarian and 20 ammonoid zones are established for the Permian in China, of which the Guadalupian and Lopingian conodont zones have been served as the standard for international correlation. The Permian δ13 Ccarbtrend indicates that it is characterized by a rapid negative shift of 3–5‰ at the end of the Changhsingian, which can be used for global correlation of the end-Permian mass extinction interval, but δ13 Ccarbrecords from all other intervals may have more or less suffered subsequent diagenetic alteration or represented regional or local signatures only. Permian δ18 Oapatitestudies suggest that an icehouse stage dominated the time interval from the late Carboniferous to Kungurian(late Cisuralian). However, paleoclimate began to ameriolate during the late Kungurian and gradually shifted into a greenhouse-dominated stage during the Guadalupian.The Changhsingian was a relatively cool stage, followed by a globally-recognizable rapid temperature rise of 8–10°C at the very end of the Changhsingian. The87 Sr/86 Sr ratio trend shows that their values at the beginning of the Permian were between 0.70800,then gradually decreased to the late Capitanian minimum 0.70680–0.70690, followed by a persistent increase until the end of the Permian with the value 0.70708. Magenetostratigraphy suggests two distinct stages separated by the Illawarra Reversal in the middle Wordian, of which the lower is the reverse polarity Kiaman Superchron and the upper is the mixed-polarity Illawarra Superchron. The end-Guadalupian(or pre-Lopingian) biological crisis occurred during the late Capitanian, when faunal changeovers of different fossil groups had different paces, but generally experienced a relatively long time from the Jinogondolella altudensis Zone until the earliest Wuchiapingian. The end-Permian mass extinction was a catastrophic event that is best constrained at the Meishan section, which occurred at 251.941±0.037 Ma and persisted no more than 61±48 kyr. After the major pulse at Bed 25, the extinction patterns are displayed differently in different sections. The global end-Guadalupian regression is manifested between the conodont Jinogondolella xuanhanensis and Clarkina dukouensis zones and the endChanghsingian transgression began in the Hindeodus changxingensis-Clarkina zhejiangensis Zone. | 6 | Characterization of peach tree crown by using high-resolution images from an unmanned aerial vehicle显示文摘In orchards, measuring crown characteristics is essential for monitoring the dynamics of tree growth and optimizing farm management. However, it lacks a rapid and reliable method of extracting the features of trees with an irregular crown shape such as trained peach trees. Here, we propose an efficient method of segmenting the individual trees and measuring the crown width and crown projection area (CPA) of peach trees with time-series information, based on gathered images. The images of peach trees were collected by unmanned aerial vehicles in an orchard in Okayama, Japan, and then the digital surface model was generated by using a Structure from Motion (SfM) and Multi-View Stereo (MVS) based software. After individual trees were identified through the use of an adaptive threshold and marker-controlled watershed segmentation in the digital surface model, the crown widths and CPA were calculated, and the accuracy was evaluated against manual delineation and field measurement, respectively. Taking manual delineation of 12 trees as reference, the root-mean-square errors of the proposed method were 0.08 m (R^(2) = 0.99) and 0.15 m (R^(2) = 0.93) for the two orthogonal crown widths, and 3.87 m2 for CPA (R^(2) = 0.89), while those taking field measurement of 44 trees as reference were 0.47 m (R^(2) = 0.91), 0.51 m (R^(2) = 0.74), and 4.96 m2 (R^(2) = 0.88). The change of growth rate of CPA showed that the peach trees grew faster from May to July than from July to September, with a wide variation in relative growth rates among trees. | 7 | Synthesis and thermal properties of poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile)-graft-polyethylene glycol copolymers as novel solid–solid phase change materials for thermal energy storage显示文摘A novel poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile)-graft-polyethylene glycol(SAN-g-PEG) copolymer was synthesized as new solid–solid phase change materials(SSPCMs) by grafting PEG to the main chain of poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile). The chemical structure of the SAN-g-PEG was confirmed by the Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance(1H NMR) spectroscopy techniques. The thermal energy storage properties and the storage durability of the SAN-g-PEG were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). The SAN-g-PEG was endowed with the solid–solid phase transition temperatures within the range of 23–36 8C and the latent heat enthalpy ranged from 66.8 k J/kg to 68.3 k J/kg. Thermal cycling tests revealed that the SAN-g-PEG kept great heat storage durability after 1000 thermal cycles. | 12 | Quality prediction of freshly-harvested wheat using Gluto Peak during postharvest maturation显示文摘Much recent researches have demonstrated that the quality of freshly-harvested wheat could be improved during postharvest maturation by determinating the rheological properties.However,this process is time-consuming and complex.This study aimed to provide a rapid and convenient method for predicting wheat quality during postharvest maturation by use of Gluto Peak device.Farinograph and Extensograph were used to determine the rheological properties of four wheat samples(WT1,WT2,WT3,WT4)stored under different conditions(WT1:15℃,50%RH;WT2:20℃65%RH;WT3:28℃75%RH;WT4:35℃85%RH)for a total of 10 weeks,and Gluto Peak test was used to determine the gluten aggregation properties of the four samples.Correlation analysis was also conducted between the rheological properties and the gluten aggregation properties.Results of rheological properties showed that all Extensographic properties(dough extensibility,resistance,maximum resistance and area)of the four samples increased along with the storage time,and the Farinographic properties(water absorption,dough development time,dough stability time,and farinograph quality number(FQN))had the same tendency,indicating that the rheological properties were improved considerably with storage time extending.The Gluto Peak curves revealed that Peak Maximum Time(PMT),Brabender Equivalents Maximum(BEM)and Energy to Maximum Torque(En MT)of wheat flour of the four samples varied greatly,particularly the PMT and En MT of the samples WT3 and WT4 increased remarkably.Results of correlation analysis showed that En MT had significant correlation with water absorption and area(P<0.05)for sample WT1,and also showed significant correlation with dough development time(P<0.05)for sample WT2.For sample WT3,PMT was significantly correlated with the dough development time,extensibility,area(P<0.05),and FQN(P<0.01);and En MT was in significant correction with water absorption(P<0.01),and dough stability time,FQN,extensibility,maximum resistance and area(P<0.05).For sample WT4,both PMT and En MT had significant correction with area(P<0.05).The study indicated that the Gluto Peak test is effective in quality prediction for the freshly-harvested wheat during postharvest maturation,making it possible to realize rapid wheat quality detection and evaluation in storage period. | Mengyu Mu Ruidie Geng Yuanyuan Yue Feng Jia Xia Zhang Jinshui Wang | 2021 | Grain & Oil Science and Technology2021,4,4: | 5 |

| 15 | Effect of calcium citrate on bone integration in a rabbit femur defect model显示文摘Objective:To explore effect of calcium citrate on bone integration in a rabbit femur defect model, and to compare the bone formation with different sizes by radiological and histological study. | 16 | Expression of interleukin 6 in brain and colon of rats with TNBS-induced colitis显示文摘AIM:To characterise expression of interleukin 6(IL-6),a potent proinflammatory cytokine,in the occurrence and development of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) and investigate its effect on neuroimmunomodulation and immune homeostasis regulation.METHODS:In this study,rats with colitis induced by trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS) were sacrificed on days 3,7,14,21 and 28 after induction.In the controls,the TNBS was just replaced by equivalent amount of phosphate buffered solution(PBS,0.01 mol/L).IL-6 mRNA expression in brain and colon tissues in each phase was evaluated by real-time reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction,and cellular localisation and protein level of IL-6 was determined by immunohistochemistry.RESULTS:At day 7,mRNA expression of IL-6 was significantly higher in the colon and brain of IBD rats than that of the controls.The protein level was also significantly higher in colon,hypothalamus and cerebral cortex of IBD rats compared with the controls.So there are similar temporal trends in IL-6 mRNA expression and protein levels in all positions with a persistent increase to a peak at day 7,followed by a decline and gradual return to normal levels.CONCLUSION:These results revealed that changes in IL-6 expression in brain and colon tissues occur in different phases of IBD.Therefore,we propose that the nerve centre regulates and controls the occurrence and development of IBD via IL-6. | Wang, Kai Yuan, Chuan-Ping Wang, Wei Yang, Zhan-Qing Cui, Wei Mu, Lian-Zhi Yue, Zhan-Peng Yin, Xiu-Ling Hu, Zhong-Ming Liu, Ju-Xiong | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,18: | 3 |
| 17 | An Experimental Study on the Conductivity Changes in Coal during Methane Adsorption-Desorption and their Influencing Factors显示文摘During the processes of methane adsorption and desorption,the internal structure of coal changes,accordingly leading to changes in electrical conductivity.In this paper,using low rank coal seams of the Yan'an Formation in the Dafbsi field as the research subject,the relationship between coal resistivity,methane adsorption quantity,and equilibrium pressure is analyzed through proximate analysis,mercury injection tests,low temperature liquid nitrogen adsorption tests,and coal resistivity measurements during methane adsorption and desorption.The results show that during the process of pressure rise and methane adsorption,the conductivity of coal increases,resulting from heat release from methane adsorption,coal matrix swelling and adsorbed water molecules replaced by methane,but the resistivity reduction gradually decreases.The relationship between coal resistivity and methane adsorption quantity and equilibrium pressure can be described by a quadratic function.During the processes of depressurization and desorption,the resistivity of coal rebounds slightly,due to decalescence of methane desorption,coal matrix shrinkage and water-gas displacement,and the relationship coincides with a linear function.Methane adsorption leads to irreversible changes in coal internal structure and enhances the coal conductivity,and resistivity can not be restored to the initial level even after methane desorption.The resistivity and reduction rate of durain are higher than those of vitrain,with relatively greater homogeneous pore throat structure and fewer charged particles in the double electric layer.In addition,moisture can enhance the conductivity of coal and makes it change more complexly during methane adsorption and desorption. | CHEN Yue MA Dongmin GUO Chen YANG Fu MU Tian GAO Zheng | 2019 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,3: | 3 |
| 18 | A new cell death program regulated by toll-like receptor 9 through p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway in a neonatal rat model with sepsis associated encephalopathy显示文摘Background:Sepsis,a serious condition with high mortality,usually causes sepsis associated encephalopathy(SAE)that involves neuronal cell death.However,the cell death programs involved and their underlying mechanisms are not clear.This study aimed to explore the regulatory mechanisms of different cell death programs in SAE.Methods:A neonatal rat model of SAE was established by cecal ligation and perforation.Survival rate and vital signs(mean arterial pressure and heart rate)were monitored,nerve reflexes were evaluated,and cortical pathological changes were observed by hematoxylin and eosin staining.The expression of pyroptosis,apoptosis,and necroptosis(PANoptosis)-related proteins,mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK),and its upstream regulator toll-like receptor 9(TLR9)were detected.The expression of TLR9 in neurons was observed by immunofluorescence staining.The ultrastructure of neurons was observed by transmission electron microscope.Results:First,PANoptosis was found in cortical nerve cells of the SAE rats.Meanwhile,the subunits of MAPKs,p38 MAPK,Jun N-terminal kinase,and extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)were activated.After pharmacologically inhibiting each of the subunits,only p38 MAPK was found to be associated with PANoptosis.Furthermore,blocking the p38 MAPK signaling pathway activated necroptosis but inhibited apoptosis and pyroptosis.When necroptosis was pharmacologically inhibited,apoptosis and pyroptosis were reactivated.Finally,we found that the expression of TLR9,a regulator of MAPKs,was significantly increased in this model.After down-regulation of TLR9,p38 MAPK,and ERK signaling pathways were inhibited,which led to the inhibition of PANoptosis.Further analysis found that down-regulation of TLR9 improved the survival rate and reduced the pathological changes in SAE rats.Conclusions:Our study showed that the programs comprising PANoptosis are activated simultaneously in SAE rats.TLR9 activated PANoptosis through the p38 MAPK signaling pathway.TLR9 may work as a potential target for SAE treatment. | Ruixi Zhou Junjie Ying Xia Qiu Luting Yu Yan Yue Qian Liu Jing Shi Xihong Li Yi Qu Dezhi Mu | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,12: | 3 |

| 20 | Late Mesozoic rifting and its deep dynamic mechanisms in the central Sulu orogenic belt: Records from Lingshan Island显示文摘The Lingshan Island scientific drill confirms that two episodes(Laiyang period and Qingshan period) of rifting developed in the central Sulu orogenic belt(SOB) in Late Mesozoic. With a set of methods including fieldwork, drilling, core logging, zircon U-Pb dating and whole rock geochemistry applied, the age, the depositional sequence and the deep dynamic mechanisms of rift evolution were unraveled. The stratigraphic sequence of the Laiyang-Qingshan Groups on Lingshan Island was composed of two different rifting sequences:(1) Laiyang Group(147–125 Ma), which consists of deep-water gravity flow deposits with interlayers of intermediate volcanic rocks;and(2) Lower Qingshan Group(125–119 Ma), which unconformably overlies the former sequence and contains subaerial volcanic deposits and terrestrial deposits. The tectonic environment changed during the evolution of these two episodes of rifting: the rift was in a NNW-SSE extensional environment in the Laiyang period and showed the typical passive rifting character that “lithospheric extension and rifting preceded volcanism”. The passive rifting period was ended by a short WNW-ESE compression at about 125 Ma. After that, the tectonic environment transferred to a strong NW-SE extensional environment and the rifting evolved into a volcanic arc basin in the Qingshan period. The igneous rocks are shoshonitic to high-K calc-alkaline trachyandesites to trachytes with a few intercalated lamprophyres and a rhyolite.The geochemical characteristics of the igneous rocks indicate that they are mantle-derived melts with a metasomatized mantle source and/or crustal contamination. In addition, an increased thinning of the lithosphere happened during the rifting episodes.The low-angle subduction of the Paleo-Pacific plate in the Jurassic weakened the thickened SOB lithospheric mantle. The rollback of the subducting plate started in late Jurassic to early Cretaceous, and the SOB lithospheric mantle was delaminated synchronously because of the gravity collapse. Thus, this caused passive rifting in the Laiyang period. Thereafter, the rollback and trench retreat of the high-angle subducting Paleo-Pacific plate would have achieved its climax, resulting in the strong regional extension. Passive rifting was ended by the crustal uplift caused by asthenospheric upwelling beneath the rift. The lower crust was heated by the upwelling asthenosphere and partially melted to form felsic melts, which were emplaced upwards and erupted explosively. The rift evolved into a volcanic arc basin in the Qingshan period and showed some characteristics of active rifting. Above all, a passive rifting in the Laiyang period and a volcanic arc basin in the Qingshan period developed successively in the Lingshan Island area(the central SOB). This records the transfer of the study area from the Paleo-Tethys tectonic domain to the circum-Pacific tectonic domain. The delamination of SOB lithospheric mantle and the upwelling of asthenospheric material were the deep dynamic mechanisms driving the development and evolution of two rift episodes.
