| 5 | Characteristic absorption peak of the human blood measured with differential photoacoustic spectroscopy显示文摘A new highly sensitive spectroscopy technique-differential photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) is presented in this paper. The blood samples from 3 healthy persons, patients with leukemia, patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH), and 40 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma were measured by the PAS technique. The normalized, the first order, and the second order differential photo-acoustic spectroscopy of the blood were gained. The results show that ( i) weak absorption peaks or shoulder peaks, which could not be found using conventional photoacoustic spectroscopy, were determined by the first order and the second order differential photoacoustic spectroscopy which significantly improve the sensitivity of detection; and (ii) that two characteristic absorption peaks were found at the wavelength of 637 and 664 nm in all persons’ blood samples by the differential photoacoustic spectroscopy technique. | 7 | SCUBE2 mediates bone metastasis of luminal breast cancer by modulating immune-suppressive osteoblastic niches显示文摘Estrogen receptor (ER)-positive luminal breast cancer is a subtype with generally lower risk of metastasis to most distant organs. However, bone recurrence occurs preferentially in luminal breast cancer. The mechanisms of this subtype-specific organotropism remain elusive. Here we show that an ER-regulated secretory protein SCUBE2 contributes to bone tropism of luminal breast cancer. Single-cell RNA sequencing analysis reveals osteoblastic enrichment by SCUBE2 in early bone-metastatic niches. SCUBE2 facilitates release of tumor membrane-anchored SHH to activate Hedgehog signaling in mesenchymal stem cells, thus promoting osteoblast differentiation. Osteoblasts deposit collagens to suppress NK cells via the inhibitory LAIR1 signaling and promote tumor colonization. SCUBE2 expression and secretion are associated with osteoblast differentiation and bone metastasis in human tumors. Targeting Hedgehog signaling with Sonidegib and targeting SCUBE2 with a neutralizing antibody both effectively suppress bone metastasis in multiple metastasis models. | 9 | Molecular game theory for a toxin-dominant food chain model显示文摘Animal toxins that are used to subdue prey and deter predators act as the key drivers in natural food chains and ecosystems.However,the predators of venomous animals may exploit feeding adaptation strategies to overcome toxins their prey produce.Much remains unknown about the genetic and molecular game process in the toxin-dominant food chain model.Here,we show an evolutionary strategy in different trophic levels of scorpion-eating amphibians,scorpions and insects,representing each predation relationship in habitats dominated by the paralytic toxins of scorpions.For scorpions preying on insects,we found that the scorpion a-toxins irreversibly activate the skeletal muscle sodium channel of their prey(insect,BgNayl)through a membrane delivery mechanism and an efficient binding with the Asp/Lys-Tyr motif of BgNayl.However,in the predatory game between frogs and scorpions,with a single point mutation(Lys to Glu)in this motif of the frog's skeletal muscle sodium channel(fNay 1.4);fNay 1.4 breaks this interaction and diminishes muscular toxicity to the frog;thus,frogs can regularly prey on scorpions without showing paralysis.Interestingly,this molecular strategy also has been employed by some other scorpion-eating amphibians,especially anurans.In contrast to these amphibians;the Asp/Lys-Tyr motifs are structurally and functionally conserved in other animals that do not prey on scorpions.Together,our findings elucidate the protein-protein interacting mechanism of a toxin-dominant predator-prey system,implying the evolutionary game theory at a molecular level. | Bowen Li Jonathan R.Silva Xiancui Lu Lei Luo t Yunfei Wang Lizhen Xu Aerziguli Aierken Zhanserik Shynykul Peter Muiruri Kamau Anna Luo Jian Yang Deyuan Su Fan Yang Jianmin Cui Shilong Yang Ren Lai | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,6: | 1 |

| 11 | Interannual evolution of the chemical composition,sources and processes of PM_(2.5)in Chengdu,China:Insights from observations in four winters显示文摘The air quality in China has improved significantly in the last decade and,correspondingly,the characteristics of PM_(2.5)have also changed.We studied the interannual variation of PM_(2.5)in Chengdu,one of the most heavily polluted megacities in southwest China,during the most polluted season(winter).Our results show that the mass concentrations of PM_(2.5)decreased significantly year-by-year,from 195.8±91.0μg/m~3in winter 2016 to 96.1±39.3μg/m^(3)in winter 2020.The mass concentrations of organic matter(OM),SO_()4^(2-),NH_(4)^(+)and NO_(3)^(-)decreased by 49.6%,57.1%,49.7% and 28.7%,respectively.The differential reduction in the concentrations of chemical components increased the contributions from secondary organic carbon and NO_(3)^(-)and there was a larger contribution from mobile sources.The contribution of OM and NO_(3)^(-)not only increased with increasing levels of pollution,but also increased year-by-year at the same level of pollution.Four sources of PM_(2.5)were identified:combustion sources,vehicular emissions,dust and secondary aerosols.Secondary aerosols made the highest contribution and increased year-by-year,from 40.6%in winter 2016 to 46.3% in winter 2020.By contrast,the contribution from combustion sources decreased from 14.4% to 8.7%.Our results show the effectiveness of earlier pollution reduction policies and emphasizes that priority should be given to key pollutants(e.g.,OM and NO_(3)^(-))and sources(secondary aerosols and vehicular emissions)in future policies for the reduction of pollution in Chengdu during the winter months. | Junke Zhang Jiaqi Li Yunfei Su Chunying Chen Luyao Chen Xiaojuan Huang Fangzheng Wang Yawen Huang Gehui Wang | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,4: | 0 |

| 13 | Preparation of CIP@TiO_(2) composite with broadband electromagnetic wave absorption properties显示文摘Scholars aim for the improved impedance matching (Z) of materials while maintaining their excellent wave absorption properties. Based on the hydrolysis characteristics of isopropyl titanate, a simple preparation process for the coating of carbonyl iron powder(CIP) with TiO_(2) was designed. Given the TiO2coating, the Z of the CIP@TiO_(2) composite was adjusted well by decreasing the dielectric constant. Moreover, the interfacial polarization of CIP@TiO_(2) was enhanced. Ultimately, the electromagnetic-wave (EMW) absorption property of the CIP@TiO_(2)composite was improved substantially, the minimum reflection loss reached-46.07 dB, and the effective absorption bandwidth can reach 8 GHz at the composite thickness of 1.5 mm. Moreover, compared with CIP, the oxidation resistance of CIP@TiO_(2)showed remarkable improvement. The results revealed that the oxidation starting temperature of CIP@TiO_(2) as about 400℃,whereas the uncoated CIP had an oxidation starting temperature of approximately 250℃. Moreover, the largest oxidation rate temperature of CIP@TiO_(2) increased to around 550℃. | 17 | Facile fabrication of graphene/g-C_(3)N_(4) for electromagnetic wave absorption显示文摘With the development of the miniaturization of electronic equipment and lightweight weapon equipment,there are new requirements for electromagnetic wave absorption material(EMWAM).EMWAM has outstanding electromagnetic wave absorption properties and lightweight characteristics become an important direction of research.In this study,graphene/g-C_(3)N_(4)(GGCN)EMWAM was first synthesized in situ by simple heat treatment,in which the g-C_(3)N_(4) had a porous structure and dispersed on the surface of graphene.The impedance matching of the GGCN was well adjusted by decreasing the dielectric constant and attenuation constant due to the g-C_(3)N_(4) semiconductor property and the graphite-like structure.The EMW loss mechanism of GGCN was also analyzed by simulating GGCN’s electric field mode distribution and resistance loss power density.The analysis result shows that the distribution of g-C_(3)N_(4) among GGCN sheets can produce more polarization effects and relaxation effects by increasing the lamellar spacing.Furthermore,the polarization loss of GGCN could be increased successfully by porous g-C_(3)N_(4).Ultimately,the EMW absorption property of GGCN is optimized significantly,and GGCN exhibits excellent EMW absorption performance.When the thickness is 2 mm,the effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)can reach 4.6 GHz,and when the thickness is 4.5 mm,the minimum reflection loss(RLmin)at 4.56 GHz can reach-34.69 dB.Moreover,the practical application of EMWAM was studied by radar cross-section(RCS)simulation,showing that GGCN has a good application prospect. | Qiang Su Yunfei He Dongdong Liu Daguang Li Long Xia Xiaoxiao Huang Bo Zhong | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,3: | 0 |

| 20 | Pusher:an augmented fuzzer based on the connection between input and comparison operand显示文摘Coverage based fuzzing is a widespread vulnerability detection technique,and it has exposed many bugs in many real-world programs.However,its attention is to eliminate the testing on the repeated paths,yet it still employs random mutation to generate inputs,which is blind to penetrate complex comparisons in the program.As a result,the testing coverage is limited.Despite some solution proposals are presented,this problem is still partially solved.This paper argues that random mutation is mainly limited by two challenges,the sizable search space and the lack of a useful feedback to direct the search.Then we present an augmented fuzzing technique by addressing these two challenges.First of all,we point out a black relationship between input contents and comparison operands,which is dubbed connection.Second,we present a novel method to collect the comparison operands during execution,which is leveraged to infer the connections.Based on the connections,the fuzzer can learn about which input byte affects on which comparison instruction to establish a smaller search space.Third,the connection provides a useful feedback to direct the search.We resort to a modern metaheuristic algorithm to satisfy this searching requirement.We developed a prototype Pusher and evaluated its performance on several benchmarks and four real-world programs.The experimental results demonstrate that Pusher works better than some other state-of-the-art fuzzers on bug detection,and can achieve a higher testing coverage.Moreover,we take a detailed statistic about the execution overhead in Pusher,and the results indicate that the execution overhead introduced by our approach is within an acceptable scope. | Bin Zhang Jiaxi Ye Ruilin Li Chao Feng Yunfei Su Chaojing Tang | 2022 | Frontiers of Computer Science2022,16,4: | 0 |
