Design, modeling and experiments of broadband tristable galloping piezoelectric energy harvester显示文摘Galloping based piezoelectric energy harvester is a kind of micro-environmental energy harvesting device based on flowinduced vibrations.A novel tristable galloping-based piezoelectric energy harvester is constructed by introducing a nonlinear magnetic force on the traditional galloping-based piezoelectric energy harvester.Based on Euler-Bernoulli beam theory and Kirchhoff’s law,the corresponding aero-electromechanical model is proposed and validated by a series of wind tunnel experiments. The parametric study is performed to analyse the response of the tristable galloping-based piezoelectric energy harvester.Numerical results show that comparing with the galloping-based piezoelectric energy harvester, the mechanism of the tristable galloping-based piezoelectric energy harvester is more complex. With the increase of a wind speed, the vibration of the bluff body passes through three branches:intra-well oscillations, chaotic oscillations, and inter-well oscillations. The threshold wind speed of the presented harvester for efficiently harvesting energy is 1.0 m/s,which is decreased by 33% compared with the galloping-based piezoelectric energy harvester. The maximum output power of the presented harvester is 0.73 mW at 7.0 m/s wind speed, which is increased by 35.3%.Compared with the traditional galloping-based piezoelectric energy harvester, the presented tristable galloping-based piezoelectric energy harvester has a better energy harvesting performance from flow-induced vibrations.Junlei Wang Linfeng Geng Shengxi Zhou Zhien Zhang Zhihui Lai Daniil Yurchenko 2020Acta Mechanica Sinica2020,36,3:9
Response regimes of nonlinear energy harvesters with a resistorinductor resonant circuit by complexification-averaging method显示文摘In this paper, the steady-state response regimes of nonlinear energy harvesters with a resistor-inductor resonant circuit are theoretically investigated. The complexification averaging(CA) method is used to theoretically analyze the energy harvesting performance and reduce the motion equations into a set of first-order differential equations. The amplitudes and phases of both the response displacement and the output voltage are derived, and the corresponding stability conditions are determined. The response regimes are studied with the variation of nonlinear stiffness coefficients and coupling parameters, which are verified by the time domain analysis. The frequency island phenomenon is found and analyzed. Additionally, the backbone curve for deducing the extreme vibration frequency and amplitude is derived. Simultaneously, the analytical expressions of the switching points(critical amplitude and frequency) to identify the hardening and softening properties are established. Accordingly, a criterion is given to determine the occurrence of the jump phenomenon, and its effectiveness is verified. Overall, this paper presents an in-depth theoretical analysis of nonlinear energy harvesters with a resistor-inductor resonant circuit. It presents the theoretical framework and guidance for more extensive evaluations and understanding the theoretical analysis of nonlinear energy harvesters with external circuits.HUANG DongMei CHEN JiaYi ZHOU ShengXi FANG XueLai LI Wei 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,6:6
On the stochastic response regimes of a tristable viscoelastic isolation system under delayed feedback control显示文摘In this paper,a tristable viscoelastic isolation system with stochastic excitation under both displacement and velocity delayed feedback control is considered.Firstly, the theoretical expressions of the mean first-passage time(MFPT)to measure the activated escape between different potential wells are derived.Induced nonlinear transition dynamics due to the noise and time delays are mainly discussed. It is found that the delay-induced behaviours affect the transitions between the equilibrium points of the system, the corresponding phenomenon of the delay-enhanced stability is observed. In this respect, the existence of the maxima of the MFPT1 and the MFPT2 is found in one period.Meanwhile, the MFPT1 and the MFPT2 show the monotonic behaviour with the increase of the noise intensity.Additionally, the stationary probability density of the amplitude and the stationary mean amplitude are derived. The influence regimes of the system parameters on both stationary probability density of the amplitude and the stationary mean amplitude are explored. This paper establishes the relationship between system parameters and dynamical properties of the tristable viscoelastic isolation system. This provides a fundamental guidance for the optimization of the viscoelastic isolation by utilizing the technique of delayed feedback control.HUANG DongMei ZHOU ShengXi LI Wei LITAK Grzegorz 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,4:3
Improving the off-resonance energy harvesting performance using dynamic magnetic preloading显示文摘Piezoelectric stack transducers in d33 mode have a much higher mechanical-to-electric energy conversion efficiency compared with d3l mode piezoelectric harvesters. However, multilayered piezoelectric stacks usually operate in off-resonance due to the higher stiffness and thereby have a lower power output under low-frequency excitations. This paper proposes to apply the dynamic magnetic pre-loading to a piezoelectric stack transducer to significantly increase the power output. The energy harvesting system consists of a multilayered piezoelectric stack with a compliant force amplification frame,a proof mass, and two magnets configured in attraction. The static force-displacement relationship of the magnets is identified from experiments and extended to a dynamic model capable of characterizing the dynamic magnetic interaction. An electromechanical model is developed based on the theoretical derivation and the experimentally identified parameters to predict the voltage outputs under different resistive loads.Approximate analytical solutions are derived by using the harmonic balance method and show good agreements with the numerical and experimental results. The performance of the system is examined and compared with that of the harvester without magnetic pre-loading.The influences of the distance between the two magnets and the electrical resistive loads on the power output are investigated. Results indicate the energy harvesting system with magnetic pre-loading can produce over thousand times more power than the system without magnetic pre-loading at the base excitation of 3 Hz and 0.5 m/s……2,far below the resonance at 243 Hz.Feng Qian Shengxi Zhou Lei Zuo 2020Acta Mechanica Sinica2020,36,3:2

Multistage oscillators for ultra-low frequency vibration isolation and energy harvesting显示文摘Limited by the mass, stiffness, barrier height and natural frequency of the oscillator, the existing structure or mechanism is still difficult to achieve vibration suppression and effective utilization under ultra-low frequency excitation. In particular,it is difficult to break through the technical bottleneck of the integration and intelligence of vibration isolation and energy harvesting(VIEH).The introduction of nonlinearity is usually used to solve the problem of ultra-low frequency, and the integration problem can be overcome through electromechanical coupling. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to reveal and deeply explore the geometric nonlinearity and electromechanical coupling of multistage oscillators for ultra-low frequency VIEH.This kind of multifunctional oscillators can be realized by combining mechanical multistage coupling and electromechanical conversion technologies. The experimental results confirm the development of multistage theory, and the results show that, especially in the case of multicoupling structures, the multistage oscillators with high-order quasi-zero stiffness can effectively reduce the initial frequencies of vibration isolation and the frequencies corresponding to the maximum output power. The theoretical and experimental results in this paper show that the multistage oscillators are suitable for VIEH of ultra-low frequency sources.YANG Tao ZHANG YongQi ZHOU ShengXi 2022Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,3:1
Fused-ring induced end-on orientation in conjugated molecular dyads toward efficient single-component organic solar cells显示文摘The molecular orientations of conjugated materials on the substrate mainly include edge-on,face-on,and end-on.Edge-on and face-on orientations have been widely observed, while end-on orientation has been rarely reported.Since in organic solar cells(OSCs)charge transport is along the vertical direction,end-on orientation with conjugated backbones perpendicular to the substrate is recognized as the ideal microstructure for OSCs.In this work,we for the first time obtained the preferential end-on orientation in a conjugated molecular dyad that contains a conjugated backbone as donor and perylene bisimide side units as acceptor. This was realized by introducing a fused-ring structure to replace linear terthiophenes with conjugated backbones, yielding F-MDPBI and L-MDPBI respectively.Surprisingly,a shifting trend of the molecular orientation from dominating edge-on in L-MDPBI to preferential end-on in F-MDPBI was observed. As a consequence, vertical charge carrier mobilities in F-MDPBI are one order of magnitude higher than those with preferential edge-on orientation,so single-component OSCs based on this molecular dyad as a single photoactive layer provided a power conversion efficiency of 4.89% compared to 1.70% based on L-MDPBI with preferential edge-on orientation.Dongdong Xia Shengxi Zhou Wen Liang Tan Safakath Karuthedath Chengyi Xiao Chaowei Zhao Frédéric Laquai Christopher R.McNeill Weiwei Li 2023Aggregate2023,4,2:0
Integration of genetic virtual screening patterns and latent multivariate modeling techniques for QSAR optimization based on combinations and/or interactions between peptides and proteins显示文摘Both the concept and the model of snug quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) were pro-posed and developed for molecular design through constructing QSAR based on some known mode of receptor/ligand interactions. Many disadvantages of traditional models can be avoided by using the proposed method because the traditional models only determined upon molecular structural features in sample sets themselves. A genetic virtual screening of peptide/protein combinations (GVSPPC) is proposed for the first time by utilizing this idea to examine peptide/protein affinity activities. A genetic algorithm (GA) was developed for screening combinative targets with an interaction mode for virtual receptors. GVSPPC succeeds in disposing difficulties in rational QSAR,in order to search for the ligand/receptor interactions on conditions of unknown structures. Some bioactive oligo-/poly-peptide systems covering 58 angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and 18 double site mutation residues in camel antibody protein cAb-Lys3 were investigated by GVSPPC with satisfactory results (R 2 cu>0.91,Q 2 cv > 0.86,ERMS=0.19-0.95),respectively,which demonstrates that GVSPPC is more inter-pretable in the ligand-receptor interaction than the traditional QSAR method.LI ZhiLiang TIAN FeiFei WU ShiRong YANG ShanBin YANG ShengXi ZHOU Yuan ZHANG QiaoXia QIN RenHui MEI Hu CHEN Gang LI GenRong 2008Science China Chemistry2008,51,5:0
A dual-beam piezo-magneto-elastic wake-induced vibration energy harvesting system for high-performance wind energy harvesting显示文摘Wind-induced vibration energy harvesting has a great potential for utilizing wind energy to supply power for low-powered devices. To improve the working performance of energy harvesters effectively,a suitable structural design is crucial. This paper proposes a dual-beam piezo-magneto-elastic wake-induced vibration energy harvesting system to enhance the functional performance of aeroelastic energy harvesters in environments with variable wind speeds. The system contains two piezoelectric beams coupled by magnets(forming upstream and downstream energy harvesters),and each beam is attached with a foam cylinder.A corresponding dynamic model is provided, and output characteristics are obtained at different wind speeds. Results and experimental verification indicate that both upstream and downstream energy harvesters can realize efficient energy harvesting. When the wind speed exceeds a certain critical value, the amplitudes of the system’s displacement and voltage are high. The wind speed threshold value is approximately 1.25 m/s.When the wind speed and magnet spacing are 10.2 m/s and 20 mm,respectively, the output power of the system reaches 4.9×10^(−4)W.Moreover,the wind speed threshold value of the proposed system can be adjusted by an equivalent nonlinear restoring force.MA XiaoQing ZHANG Hang MARGIELEWICZ Jerzy GĄSKA Damian WOLSZCZAK Piotr LITAK Grzegorz ZHOU ShengXi 2024Science China(Technological Sciences)2024,67,1:0
Recognition for avian influenza virus proteins based on support vector machine and linear discriminant analysis显示文摘Total 200 properties related to structural characteristics were employed to represent structures of 400 HA coded proteins of influenza virus as training samples. Some recognition models for HA proteins of avian influenza virus (AIV) were developed using support vector machine (SVM) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA). The results obtained from LDA are as follows: the identification accuracy (Ria) for training samples is 99.8% and Ria by leave one out cross validation is 99.5%. Both Ria of 99.8% for training samples and Ria of 99.3% by leave one out cross validation are obtained using SVM model, respectively. External 200 HA proteins of influenza virus were used to validate the external predictive power of the resulting model. The external Ria for them is 95.5% by LDA and 96.5% by SVM, respectively, which shows that HA proteins of AIVs are preferably recognized by SVM and LDA, and the performances by SVM are superior to those by LDA.LIANG GuiZhao CHEN ZeCong YANG ShanBin MEI Hu ZHOU Yuan YANG Li ZHOU Peng YANG ShengXi SHU Mao LIAO ChunYang WU ShiRong LI GenRong HE Liu GAO JianKun Gan MengYu LI DeJing CHEN GuoPing WANG GuiXue LONG Sha JING JuHua ZHENG XiaoLin ZENG Hui ZHANG QiaoXia ZHANG MengJun YANG Qi TIAN FeiFei TONG JianBo WANG JiaoNa LIU YongHong LI Bo QIU LiangJia CAI ShaoXi ZHAO Na YANG Yan SU XiaLi SONG Jian CHEN MeiXia ZHANG XueJiao SUN JiaYing LI JingWei CHEN GuoHua CHEN Gang DENG Jie PENG ChuanYou ZHU WanPing XU LuoNan WU YuQuan LIAO LiMin LI Zhi LI Jun LU DaJun SU QinLiang HUANG ZhengHu ZHOU Ping LI ZhiLiang 2008Science China Chemistry2008,51,2:0
