| 1 | Focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 regulates bone homeostasis in mice显示文摘Our recent studies demonstrate that the focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 is critical for chondrogenesis and early skeletal development. Here, we show that deleting Kindlin-2 from osteoblasts using the 2.3-kb mouse Col1 a1-Cre transgene minimally impacts bone mass in mice, but deleting Kindlin-2 using the 10-kb mouse Dmp1-Cre transgene, which targets osteocytes and mature osteoblasts, results in striking osteopenia in mice. Kindlin-2 loss reduces the osteoblastic population but increases the osteoclastic and adipocytic populations in the bone microenvironment. Kindlin-2 loss upregulates sclerostin in osteocytes,downregulates β-catenin in osteoblasts, and inhibits osteoblast formation and differentiation in vitro and in vivo. Upregulation ofβ-catenin in the mutant cells reverses the osteopenia induced by Kindlin-2 deficiency. Kindlin-2 loss additionally increases the expression of RANKL in osteocytes and increases osteoclast formation and bone resorption. Kindlin-2 deletion in osteocytes promotes osteoclast formation in osteocyte/bone marrow monocyte cocultures, which is significantly blocked by an anti-RANKLneutralizing antibody. | 3 | Compositional and structural study of ash deposits spatially distributed in superheaters of a large biomass-fired CFB boiler显示文摘Recognizing the nature and formation progress of the ash deposits is essential to resolve the deposition problem hindering the wide application of large-scale biomass-fired boilers.Therefore,the ash deposits in the superheaters of a 220 t/h biomass-fired CFB boiler were studied,including the platen(PS),the high-temperature(HTS),the upper and the lower low-temperature superheaters(LTS).The results showed that the deposits in the PSs and HTSs were thin(several millimeters)and compact,consisting of a yellow outer layer and snow-white inner layer near the tube surface.The deposits in the upper LTS appeared to be toughly sintered ceramic,while those in the lower LTS were composed of dispersive coarse ash particles with an unsintered surface.Detailed characterization of the cross-section and the initial layers in the deposits revealed that the dominating compositions in both the PSs and the HTSs were Cl and K(approximately 70%)in the form of KCl.Interestingly,the cross-section of the deposition in the upper LTS exhibited a unique lamellar structure with a major composition of Ca and S.The contents of Ca and Si increased from approximately 10%to approximately 60%in the deposits from the high temperature surfaces to the low temperature ones.It was concluded that the vaporized mineral matter such as KCl played the most important role in the deposition progress in the PS and the HTS.In addition,although the condensation of KCl in the LTSs also happened,the deposition of ash particles played a more important role. | Yishu XU Xiaowei LIU Jiuxin QI Tianpeng ZHANG Minghou XU Fangfang FEI Dingqing LI | 2021 | Frontiers in Energy2021,15,2: | 3 |
| 4 | Much enhanced electromagnetic wave absorbing properties from the synergistic effect of graphene/γ-graphyne heterostructure in both gigahertz and terahertz band ranges显示文摘Exploring advanced electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorbers is one of the most feasible ways to solve the increasing electromagnetic pollution in both military and civil fields.In this work,γ-graphyne(γ-GY)is synthesized by a mechanochemical route using CaC2 and hexabromobenzene(PhBr6).Then three-dimensional(3D)reduced graphene oxide/γ-GY(RGO/GY)heterostructures are prepared through facile solvothermal self-assembly and subsequent thermal reduction.The influences of calcination temperature and the content ofγ-GY of the composite on EMW absorption performance are fully investigated.The minimum reflection loss(RL)value of the RGO/GY composite foam is−71.73 dB at 10.48 GHz with the matching thickness of 3.54 mm,and the effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)less than−10 dB is 7.36 GHz.Moreover,excellent terahertz(THz)absorption property is also obtained at 0.2–1.6 THz.The RL of 84.08 dB is acquired,and the EAB covers 100%of the entire measured bandwidth.In addition,the composite is also a promising anticorrosive EMW absorber.This work provides encouraging findings,which are also instructive for the potential advantages of graphyne-based materials as highly efficient EMW absorbers in both gigahertz and terahertz band ranges. | Zhiwei Zhang Zhuo Li Lun Xia Ruofeng Wang Yishu Cao Zheng Cheng Yi Huang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,1: | 2 |
| 5 | Effect of Rapeseed Straw on Growth and Slaughter Performance of Sichuan White Goose显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to study the effects of rapeseed straw on growth and slaughter performance of Sichuan white goose.[Method]Totally 4003-day-old Sichuan white geese were randomly divided into four groups; geese in control group were fed with the fundamental diet; geese in group 1,group 2 and group 3 were fed with the fundamental diet containing 5%,10% and 10% rapeseed straw instead of equal amount of wheat bran,respectively.The body weight and slaughter performance of Sichuan white geese in control group,group 1 and group 2 were determined at 10 weeks of age,while those in group 3 were determined at14 weeks of age.[Result] There was no significant difference in gross weight,slaughter weight,eviscerated weight with giblet,head weight,sole weight,wing weight,neck weight,muscular stomach weight and intestine indexes of 10-week-old white geese between group 1 and control group,and between group 2 and control group( P > 0.05); the live weight slightly decreased.The growth and slaughter performance of 14-week-old Sichuan white geese were significantly higher than that of 10-week-old geese( P < 0.05),with better meat and flavor,but relatively low average daily gain( P < 0.05); there was no significant impact on muscular stomach p H and intestinal p H( P > 0.05).[Conclusion]Substituting partial wheat bran with rapeseed straw can satisfy the diet requirement of Sichuan white geese,but has no significant impact on its growth and slaughter performance( P > 0.05). | Yang Ting Lei Zhengda Zhang Yishu Yu Zhiqiang Wang Dayi | 2017 | Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2017,9,6: | 1 |

| 7 | Identifi cation of targets and mechanisms for Eleutheroside E in the treatment of cancer显示文摘Eleutheroside E(EE)is a monomer compound isolated from Acanthopanax senticosus,which has functions of antifatigue,antioxidation,and immune regulation.However,the function of EE in inhibiting cancer has rarely been reported.In this study,we used bioinformatics to determine the role and mechanisms of EE in inhibiting breast cancer(BRCA),prostate cancer(PRAD),lung cancer(LUAD),and bladder cancer(BLCA).Finally,the MTT method was used to evaluate the inhibitory effect of EE on breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells,and the target genes were determined by qRT-PCR.The results showed that the survival rate of MDA-MB-231 cells was reduced by 27.33%after 400μg/mL EE treatment.The results of qRT-PCR showed that EE down-regulated target genes in breast cancer cells,which was consistent with our predicted results.Moreover,our results indicated that EE may have impact on the transcription and translation of BLCA cells by targeting ADCY2,ADCY5 and JUN.In BRCA,we identified three targets for EE.In addition,EE affected DNA repair and the development of BRCA by affecting the expression of RAD51.In LUAD,we identified 9 targets for EE,8 of which were related to DNA repair.EE inhibited PRAD by targeting ADCY8.Our research was the first report on the targets and mechanisms of EE for suppressing cancer combined with clinical data.Our research also provides theoretical support for using EE to suppress cancer. | Deyong Zeng Yi Xiong Yishu Yin Shan Shan Fangyuan Duan Xin Gao Chen Song Mengyao Liu Yingchun Zhang Weihong Lu | 2022 | Journal of Future Foods2022,2,1: | 0 |

| 11 | Effects of Space Flight on Expression of Key Proteins in Rice Leaves显示文摘As a unique form of abiotic stress, the environmental conditions of outer space are expected to induce changes in plant genomes, proteomes and metabolic pathways. However, the effect of outer space conditions on the overall physiology of plants at the protein level has yet to be reported. To investigate the effects of outer space conditions on the growth-and development-related physiological processes and metabolic pathways of rice different stages, the seeds of rice variety DN423 were sent into orbit for 12.5 d aboard the SJ-10 Returning Satellite, and then the seedlings of both treated and control rice were compared at the three-leaf stage(TLS) and tillering stage(TS). In addition to comparing plant growth and reactive oxygen species(ROS) levels, seedling proteomes were also compared using isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation(i TRAQ). Space flight increased TLS plant height by 20%, reduced and increased ROS levels of the TLS and TS seedlings, respectively, and affected the expression of 36 and 323 proteins in TLS and TS leaves, respectively. Furthermore, the functions of the differentially abundant proteins were mainly associated with metabolism, energy, and protein synthesis and degradation. These results suggested that the exposure of seeds to outer space conditions affects the subsequent abundance of key signaling proteins, gene expression, and the processes of protein synthesis and degradation, thereby affecting metabolic processes and promoting adaptation to the abiotic stress of outer space.
