| 1 | Association between coexisting intracranial artery and extracranial carotid artery atherosclerotic diseases and ipsilateral cerebral infarction: a Chinese Atherosclerosis Risk Evaluation (CARE- II) study显示文摘Background To evaluate the association between coexisting intracranial and extracranial carotid artery atherosclerotic diseases and ipsilateral acute cerebral infarct(ACI)in symptomatic patients by using magnetic resonance(MR)vessel wall imaging.Methods Symptomatic patients were recruited from a cross-sectional,multicentre study of Chinese Atherosclerosis Risk Evaluation(CARE-II).All patients underwent MR imaging for extracranial carotid arterial wall,intracranial artery and brain.Coexisting intracranial stenosis≥50%and extracranial carotid artery mean wall thickness(MWT)≥1 mm and plaque compositions at the same side were evaluated and the ipsilateral ACI was identified.The association between coexisting atherosclerotic diseases and ACI was evaluated using logistic regression.Results 351 patients were recruited.Patients with ipsilateral ACI had significantly greater prevalence of coexisting intracranial stenosis≥50%and carotid MWT≥1 mm(20.5%vs 4.9%,p<0.001),calcification(15.1%vs 4.4%,p=0.001)and lipid-rich necrotic core(LRNC)(19.2%vs 7.8%,p=0.002)compared with those without.Coexisting intracranial artery stenosis≥50%and carotid MWT≥1 mm(OR 5.043,95%CI 2.378 to 10.694;p<0.001),calcification(OR 3.864,95%CI 1.723 to 8.664;p=0.001)and LRNC(OR 2.803,95%CI 1.455 to 5.401;p=0.002)were significantly associated with ipsilateral ACI.After adjusting for confounding factors,the aforementioned associations remained statistically significant(intracranial stenosis≥50%coexisting with carotid MWT≥1 mm:OR 4.313,95%CI 1.937 to 9.601,p<0.001;calcification:OR 3.606,95%CI 1.513 to 8.593,p=0.004;LRNC:OR 2.358,95%CI 1.166 to 4.769,p=0.017).Conclusions Coexistence of intracranial artery severe stenosis and extracranial carotid artery large burden and intraplaque components of calcification and LRNC are independently associated with ipsilateral ACI.Trial registration number http://gffzz1caf53c915c04334sokook0oobwuw6wwc.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/.Unique identifier:NCT02017756. | Chunxiu Jiang Jing Zhang Jianbin Zhu Xianlong Wang Zhibo Wen Xihai Zhao Chun Yuan On behalf of CARE-II Investigators | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4: | 11 |

| 3 | Hepatic encephalopathy complicated with hyponatremia and acid-base disturbance and its prognosis显示文摘Objective:To improve the diagnosis and therapeutic effect of occurrence and development of hyponatremia and disorder of acid-base balance among patients with hepatic encephalopathy(HE) by elucidating the regularity and mechanism,as well as its influence on prognosis.Methods:327 HE patients admitted to our hospital from January 1990 to June 2010 were enrolled.Meanwhile 316 patients hospitalized in the medical department of the same hospital were chosen as the control group.Patients in both groups were given the same methods to measure arterial blood gas parameters(pH value,PaCO2,[HCO3-],TCO2,BE and SaO2),blood biochemistry([Na+],[K+],[Cl-]),liver function,kidney function and blood glucose,serum sodium,and thereupon tocalculate the anion gap(AG) and the potential [HCO3-],and acid-base balance disorder.Results:Among the 327 HE patients,hyponatremia was found in 188 cases(57.4%),of whom 132 patients died(70.2%).While among the 316 patients in control group,68 presented with hyponatremia(21.5%),and 19 died(27.9%).The incidence and mortality were significantly different between the two groups(P<0.001).All the 327 patients presented with different degrees of acid-base balance disorder and 178 died(54.4%),in whom 164(50.2%) belonged to simple acid-base balance disorder and 74(45.1%) died,136(41.6%) were dual acid-base balance disorder and 80(58.8%) died,27(8.2%) were triple acid-base disturbance and 24(88.9%) died.Whereas in the control group only 83 patients(26.2%) were recognized as simple and dual acid-base balance disorder,and 18(21.7%) died.There was higher incidence of acid-base balance disorder and mortality rate in HE group than control one(P<0.001).Conclusion:Hyponatremia is valuable to judge HE patients' prognosis.The key parameters in the judgment and evaluation on acid-base balance disorder among HE patients are the change of pH values and serum electrolyte values.When pH value ≤ 7.30 or > 7.55,it generally suggests a poor prognosis. | Ren Chengshan Wang Lei Zhao Xiaoyan Yang Shiming Zhang Yanqi Wang Xiwen Bo Jianying Zhang Pengbin Guo Hong Ling Xianlong Li Yihui Da Siping Xie Xia Ren Wei Li Chunhua Qian Guisheng | 2012 | Journal of Medical Colleges of PLA(China)2012,27,3: | 3 |
| 4 | PM_(2.5)and water-soluble inorganic ion concentrations decreased faster in urban than rural areas in China显示文摘We investigated variations of PM_(2.5)and water-soluble inorganic ions chemical characteristics at nine urban and rural sites in China using ground-based observations.From 2015 to 2019,mean PM_(2.5)concentration across all sites decreased by 41.9μg/m~3with a decline of 46%at urban sites and 28%at rural sites,where secondary inorganic aerosol(SIAs)contributed to 21%(urban sites)and 17%(rural sites)of the decreased PM_(2.5).SIAs concentrations underwent a decline at urban locations,while sulfate(SO_(4)^(2–)),nitrate(NO_(3)^(–)),and ammonium(NH_(4)^(+))decreased by 49.5%,31.3%and 31.6%,respectively.However,only SO_(4)^(2–)decreased at rural sites,NO_(3)^(–)increased by 21%and NH_(4)^(+)decreased slightly.Those changes contributed to an overall SIAs increase in 2019.Higher molar ratios of NO_(3)^(–)to SO_(4)^(2–)and NH_(4)^(+)to SO_(4)^(2–)were observed at urban sites than rural sites,being highest in the heavily polluted days.Mean molar ratios of NH_(3)/NH_xwere higher in 2019 than 2015 at both urban and rural sites,implying increasing NH_xremained as free NH_(3).Our observations indicated a slower transition from sulfate-driven to nitrate-driven aerosol pollution and less efficient control of NO_(x)than SO_(2)related aerosol formation in rural regions than urban regions.Moreover,the common factor at urban and rural sites appears to be a combination of lower SO_(4)^(2–)levels and an increasing fraction of NO_(3)^(–)to PM_(2.5)under NH_(4)^(+)-rich conditions.Our findings imply that synchronous reduction in NO_(x)and NH_(3)emissions especially rural areas would be effective to mitigate NO_(3)^(–)-driven aerosol pollution. | Yangyang Zhang Aohan Tang Chen Wang Xin Ma Yunzhe Li Wen Xu Xiaoping Xia Aihua Zheng Wenqing Li Zengguo Fang Xiufen Zhao Xianlong Peng Yuping Zhang Jian Han Lijuan Zhang Jeffrey L.Collett Jr Xuejun Liu | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,12: | 2 |

| 6 | Review on partially coherent vortex beams显示文摘Ever since vortex beams were proposed, they are known for owning phase singularity and carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM). In the past decades, coherent optics developed rapidly. Vortex beams have been extended from fully coherent light to partially coherent light, from scalar light to vector light, from integral topological charge (TC) to fractional TC. Partially coherent vortex beams have attracted tremendous interest due to their hidden correlation singularity and unique propagation properties (e.g., beam shaping, beam rotation and self-reconstruction). Based on the sufficient condition for devising a genuine correlation function of partially coherent beam, partially coherent vortex beams with nonconventional correlation functions (i.e., non-Gaussian correlated Schell-model functions) were introduced recently. As a strong candidate to be used for the traffic-load prediction, the echo state network(ESN) may face the pseudo-regression problem and need to be improved for the better traffic-load prediction. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes an ESN based traffic-load prediction scheme using Bayesian theory in 10G-EPON for future-proof. In this proposed approach, Bayesian probability is introduced into the ESN and is used to improve the performance of ESN. According to the architecture between optical line terminal(OLT) and optical network units(ONU) in 10G-EPON, an ESN based on the Bayesian theory(B-ESN) is realized and the B-ESN based traffic load prediction scheme is also developed in OLT. | 19 | Clinical features of 162 fatal cases of COVID-19:a multi-center retrospective study显示文摘Background:The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has affected approximately 2 million individuals worldwide;however,data regarding fatal cases have been limited.Objective:To report the clinical features of 162 fatal cases of COVID-19 from 5 hospitals in Wuhan between December 30,2019 and March 12,2020.Methods:The demographic data,signs and symptoms,clinical course,comorbidities,laboratory findings,computed tomographic(CT)scans,treatments,and complications of the patients with fatal cases were retrieved from electronic medical records.Results:The median patient age was 69.5(interquartile range:63.0–77.25)years,and 80%of the patients were over 61 years.A total of 112(69.1%)patients were men.Hypertension(45.1%)was the most common comorbidity,while 59(36.4%)patients had no comorbidity.At admission,131(81.9%)patients had severe or critical COVID-19,whereas 39(18.1%)patients with hypertension or chronic lung disease had moderate COVID-19.In total,126(77.8%)patients received antiviral treatment,while 132(81.5%)patients received glucocorticoid treatment.A total of 116(71.6%)patients were admitted to the intensive care unit(ICU),and 137(85.1%)patients received mechanical ventilation.Most patients received mechanical ventilation before ICU admission.Approximately 93.2%of the patients developed respiratory failure or acute respiratory distress syndrome.There were no significant differences in the inhospital survival time among the hospitals(P=0.14).Conclusion:Young patients with moderate COVID-19 without comorbidity at admission could also develop fatal outcomes.The in-hospital survival time of the fatal cases was similar among the hospitals of different levels in Wuhan. | Xianlong Zhou Guoyong Ding Qing Fang Jun Guo Luyu Yang Ping Wang Shou-Zhi Fu Ang Li Jian Xia Jiangtao Yu Jianyou Xia Min Ma Zhuanzhuan Hu Lei Huang Ruining Liu Cheng Jiang Shaoping Li Mingxia Yu Xizhu Xu Yan Zhao Quan Hu Weijia Xing Zhigang Zhao | 2022 | Emergency and Critical Care Medicine2022,2,3: | 0 |
