| 1 | ACE2/Ang-(1-7) signaling and vascular remodeling显示文摘The renin-angiotensin system(RAS)regulates vascular tone and plays a critical role in vascular remodeling,which is the result of a complex interplay of alterations in vascular tone and structure.Inhibition of the RAS has led to important pharmacological tools to prevent and treat vascular diseases such as hypertension,diabetic vasculopathy and atherosclerosis.Angiotensin converting enzyme 2(ACE2)was recently identified as a multifunctional monocarboxypeptidase responsible for the conversion of angiotensin(Ang)II to Ang-(1-7).The ACE2/Ang-(1-7)signaling has been shown to prevent cellular proliferation,pathological hypertrophy,oxidative stress and vascular fibrosis.Thus,the ACE2/Ang-(1-7)signaling is deemed to be beneficial to the cardiovascular system as a negative regulator of the RAS.The addition of the ACE2/Ang-(1-7)signaling to the complexities of the RAS may lead to the development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of hypertension and other vascular diseases.The present review considers recent findings regarding the ACE2/Ang-(1-7)signaling and focuses on its regulatory roles in processes related to proliferation,inflammation,vascular fibrosis and remodeling,providing proof of principle for the potential use of ACE2 as a novel therapy for vascular disorders related to vascular remodeling. | ZHANG ZhenZhou CHEN LaiJiang ZHONG JiuChang GAO PingJin OUDIT Gavin Y. | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014，57，8： | 14 |
| 2 | A STUDY OF STRUCTURE AND PROPERTY CHANGES OF BIODEGRADABLE POLYGLYCOLIDE AND POLY(GLYCOLIDE-co-LACTIDE)FIBERS DURING PROCESSING AND IN VITRO DEGRADATION显示文摘Structure and properties of bioabsorbable polyglycolide (PGA) and poly(glycolide-co-lactide) (PGA-co-PLA)fibers were investigated during several industrial processing stages and in vitro degradation by means of wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and mechanical property tests. In the orientation stage, the PGA fibers were found to have higher degrees of crystallinity than corresponding PGA-co-PLA samples produced under similar conditions. In the hot-stretching and post-annealing stages, after fibers were braided, PGA samples were found to gain more crystallinity and higher Tg than PGA-co-PLA samples. The higher crystallinity in PGA fibers resulted in a slower rate of degradation. DMA results showed that a great deal of internal stress that was built during orientation and hot-stretching stages was released in the post-annealing stage for all PGA and PGA-co-PLA samples. During earlier stages ofin vitro degradation, both PGA and PGA-co-PLA samples exhibited the typical cleavage-induced crystallization mechanism. | 3 | Integration of meta-QTL discovery with omics: Towards a molecular breeding platform for improving wheat resistance to Fusarium head blight显示文摘Fusarium head blight(FHB) is a global wheat disease that devastates wheat production. Resistance to FHB spread within a wheat spike(type Ⅱ resistance) and to mycotoxin accumulation in infected kernel(type Ⅲ resistance) are the two main types of resistance. Of hundreds of QTL that have been reported, only a few can be used in wheat breeding because most show minor and/or inconsistent effects in different genetic backgrounds. We describe a new strategy for identifying robust and reliable meta-QTL(mQTL)that can be used for improvement of wheat FHB resistance. It involves integration of mQTL analysis with mQTL physical mapping and identification of single-copy markers and candidate genes. Using metaanalysis, we consolidated 625 original QTL from 113 publications into 118 genetic map-based mQTL(gmQTL). These gmQTL were further located on the Chinese Spring reference sequence map. Finally, 77 high-confidence mQTL(hcmQTL) were selected from the reference sequence-based mQTL(smQTL).Locus-specific single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) and simple sequence repeat(SSR) markers and17 genes responsive to FHB were then identified in the hcmQTL intervals by combined analysis of transcriptomic and proteomic data.
