| 1 | Mitochondria-targeting drug conjugates for cytotoxic, anti-oxidizing and sensing purposes:current strategies and future perspectives显示文摘mitochondrial-targeting moieties to anticancer drugs, antioxidants and sensor molecules. Among them, the most widely applied mitochondrial targeting moiety is triphenylphosphonium(TPP), which is a delocalized cationic lipid that readily accumulates and penetrates through the mitochondrial membrane due to the highly negative mitochondrial membrane potential. Other moieties, including short peptides,dequalinium, guanidine, rhodamine, and F16, are also known to be promising mitochondrial targeting agents. Direct conjugation of mitochondrial targeting moieties to anticancer drugs, antioxidants and sensors results in increased cytotoxicity, anti-oxidizing activity and sensing activity, respectively,compared with their non-targeting counterparts, especially in drug-resistant cells. Although many mitochondria-targeted anticancer drug conjugates have been investigated in vitro and in vivo, further clinical studies are still needed. On the other hand, several mitochondria-targeting antioxidants have been analyzed in clinical phases I, II and III trials, and one conjugate has been approved for treating eye disease in Russia. | 8 | Inverse correlation between gastroesophageal reflux disease and atrophic gastritis assessed by endoscopy and serology显示文摘BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection is known to prevent the occurrence of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)by inducing gastric mucosal atrophy.However,little is known about the relationship between atrophic gastritis(AG)and GERD.AIM To confirm the inverse correlation between AG and the occurrence and severity of GERD.METHODS Individuals receiving health checkups who underwent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy at Seoul National University Healthcare System Gangnam Center were included.The grade of reflux esophagitis was evaluated according to the Los Angeles classification.Endoscopic AG(EAG)was categorized into six grades.Serologic AG(SAG)was defined as pepsinogen I≤70 ng/m L and pepsinogen I/II ratio≤3.0.The association between the extent of EAG and SAG and the occurrence and severity of GERD was evaluated using multivariate logistic regression analysis.RESULTS In total,4684 individuals with GERD were compared with 21901 healthy controls.In multivariate logistic regression analysis,advanced age,male sex,body mass index>23 kg/m2,presence of metabolic syndrome,current smoking,and alcohol consumption were associated with an increased risk of GERD.Seropositivity for H.pylori immunoglobulin G antibodies was associated with a decreased risk of GERD.There was an inverse correlation between the extent of EAG and occurrence of GERD:Odds ratio(OR),1.01[95%confidence interval(CI):0.90-1.14]in C1,0.87(0.78-0.97)in C2,0.71(0.62-0.80)in C3,0.52(0.44-0.61)in O1,0.37(0.29-0.48)in O2,and 0.28(0.18-0.43)in O3.Additionally,the extent of EAG showed an inverse correlation with the severity of GERD.The presence of SAG was correlated with a reduced risk of GERD(OR=0.49,95%CI:0.28-0.87,P=0.014).CONCLUSION The extent of EAG and SAG exhibited strong inverse relationships with the occurrence and severity of GERD.AG followed by H.pylori infection may be independently protect against GERD. | Yoo Min Han Su Jin Chung Seokha Yoo Jong In Yang Ji Min Choi Jooyoung Lee Joo Sung Kim | 2022 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2022,28,8: | 3 |
| 9 | A Novel Artificial Neuron-Like Gas Sensor Constructed from CuS Quantum Dots/Bi2S3 Nanosheets显示文摘Real-time rapid detection of toxic gases at room temperature is particularly important for public health and environmental monitoring.Gas sensors based on conventional bulk materials often suffer from their poor surface-sensitive sites,leading to a very low gas adsorption ability.Moreover,the charge transportation efficiency is usually inhibited by the low defect density of surface-sensitive area than that in the interior.In this work,a gas sensing structure model based on CuS quantum dots/Bi_(2)S_(3) nanosheets(CuS QDs/Bi_(2)S_(3) NSs)inspired by artificial neuron network is constructed.Simulation analysis by density functional calculation revealed that CuS QDs and Bi_(2)S_(3) NSs can be used as the main adsorption sites and charge transport pathways,respectively.Thus,the high-sensitivity sensing of NO_(2) can be realized by designing the artificial neuron-like sensor.The experimental results showed that the CuS QDs with a size of about 8 nm are highly adsorbable,which can enhance the NO_(2) sensitivity due to the rich sensitive sites and quantum size effect.The Bi_(2)S_(3) NSs can be used as a charge transfer network channel to achieve efficient charge collection and transmission.The neuron-like sensor that simulates biological smell shows a significantly enhanced response value(3.4),excellent responsiveness(18 s)and recovery rate(338 s),low theoretical detection limit of 78 ppb,and excellent selectivity for NO_(2).Furthermore,the developed wearable device can also realize the visual detection of NO2 through real-time signal changes. | Xinwei Chen Tao Wang Jia Shi Wen Lv Yutong Han Min Zeng Jianhua Yang Nantao Hu Yanjie Su Hao Wei Zhihua Zhou Zhi Yang Yafei Zhang | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,1: | 3 |
