| 1 | Plasma exchange-centered artificial liver support system in hepatitis B virus-related acute-onchronic liver failure:a nationwide prospective multicenter study in China显示文摘BACKGROUND:Plasma exchange(PE)-centered artificial liver support system reduced the high mortality rate of hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF).But the data were diverse in different medical centers.The present prospective nationwide study was to evaluate the effects of PE on patients with HBV-ACLF at different stages.METHODS:From December 2009 to December 2011,we evaluated 250 patients at different stages of HBV-ACLF from 10 major medical centers in China.All the laboratory parameters were collected at admission,before and after PE.RESULTS:Among the 250 patients who underwent 661 rounds of PE,one-month survival rate was 61.6%; 141(56.4%) showed improvement after PE.Variables such as age(P=0.000),levels of total bilirubin(TB,P=0.000),direct bilirubin(P=0.000),total triglycerides(P=0.000),low-density lipoprotein(P=0.022),Na+(P=0.014),Cl–(P=0.038),creatinine(Cr,P=0.007),fibrinogen(P=0.000),prothrombin time(PT,P=0.000),white blood cell(P=0.000),platelet(P=0.003) and MELD(P=0.000) were significantly related to prognosis.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age,disease stage,TB,Cr and PT levels were independent risk factors of mortality among HBV-ACLF patients.CONCLUSIONS:PE can improve the clinical outcome of patients with HBV-ACLF.Levels of TB,Cr and PT,age and disease stage help to predict prognosis. | Jia-Jia Chen Jian-Rong Huang Qian Yang Xiao-Wei Xu Xiao-Li Liu Shao-Rui Hao Hui-Fen Wang Tao Han Jing Zhang Jian-He Gan Zhi-Liang Gao Yu-Ming Wang Shu-Mei Lin Qing Xie Chen Pan Lan-Juan Li | 2016 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2016,15,3: | 48 |
| 2 | Molecular hydrogen regulates the expression of miR-9,miR-21 and miR-199 in LPS-activated retinal microglia cells显示文摘AIM: To explore the potential mechanism of molecular hydrogen in the regulation of miRNA expression and signal-modulating activities. ·METHODS: Retinal microglia cells were activated by Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) and then treated with hydrogen -saturated medium or normal medium without hydrogen. qRT -PCR was used to detect the expression difference in miR-9, miR-21 and miR-199 between these two groups. | 3 | Chemical and optical properties of aerosols and their interrelationship in winter in the megacity Shanghai of China显示文摘A field campaign on air quality was carried out in Shanghai in winter of 2012. The concentrations of NO, NO2, NOx, SO2, CO, and PM2.5increased during haze formation. The average masses of SO42-, NO3-and NH4+were 10.3, 11.7 and 6.7 μg/m3 during the haze episodes, which exceeded the average(9.2, 7.9, and 3.4 μg/m3) of these components in the non-haze days. The mean values for the aerosol scattering coefficient(b sp), aerosol absorption coefficient(b ap) and single scattering albedo(SSA) were 288.7, 27.7 and0.91 Mm-1, respectively. A bi-peak distribution was observed for the mass concentrations of CO, NO, NO2, and NOx. More sulfate was produced during daytime than that in the evening due to photochemical reactions. The mass concentration of NH4+achieved a small peak at noontime. NO3-showed lower concentrations in the afternoon and higher concentrations in the early morning. There were obvious bi-peak diurnal patterns for b sp and b ap as well as SSA. b sp and b ap showed a positive correlation with PM2.5mass concentration.(NH4)2SO4, NH4NO3, organic mass, elemental carbon and coarse mass accounted for 21.7%, 19.3%, 31.0%, 9.3% and 12.3% of the total extinction coefficient during non-haze days, and 25.6%, 24.3%, 30.1%, 8.1% and 8.2% during hazy days. Organic matter was the largest contributor to light extinction. | 5 | QTG-Seq Accelerates QTL Fine Mapping through QTL Partitioning and Whole-Genome Sequencing of Bulked Segregant Samples显示文摘Deciphering the genetic mechanisms underlying agronomic traits is of great importance for crop improvement. Most of these traits are controlled by multiple quantitative trait loci (QTLs), and identifying the underlying genes by conventional QTL fine-mapping is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Here, we devised a new method, named quantitative trait gene sequencing (QTG-seq), to accelerate QTL fine-mapping. QTGseq combines QTL partitioning to convert a quantitative trait into a near-qualitative trait, sequencing of bulked segregant pools from a large segregating population, and the use of a robust new algorithm for identifying candidate genes. Using QTG-seq, we fine-mapped a plant-height QTL in maize (Zea mays L.), qPH7, to a 300-kb genomic interval and verified that a gene encoding an NF-YC transcription factor was the functional gene. Functional analysis suggested that qPH7-encoding protein might influence plant height by interacting with a CO-like protein and an AP2 domain-containing protein. Selection footprint ana卜 ysis indicated that qPH7 was subject to strong selection during maize improvement. | 9 | Effect of Wuziyanzong Pill on sperm quality and calcium ion content in oligoasthenospermia rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of Wuziyanzong treatment on the sperm quality and content of calcium ions(Ca 2+) in oligoasthenospermia rats.METHODS:A model of oligoasthenospermia was induced in 50 Sprague Dawley rats by treatment with tripterygium glycosides at 30 mg/kg per day for 8 weeks.They were divided randomly into a model group,a positive group(Huangjingzanyu capsule,3.01 g/kg),and low,medium and high dose Wuziyanzong treatment groups(2.30,4.60,9.20 g/kg crude drug respectively) with 10 in each group.Another 10 rats were used as a control group.The rats in the control and model groups were administered distilled water,while the rats in the remaining groups were administered Wuziyanzong for 30 d.The epididymides were removed,spermatozoa recovered and the sperm density and viability were measured.The spermatozoa were purified and the contents of Ca 2+ in the cytoplasm and mitochondria were detected by flow cytometry and atomic absorption spectrometry,respectively.RESULTS:After 8 weeks of treatment with tripterygium glycosides,the sperm density,sperm activity and the Ca 2 + content of spermatozoa in the model rats were all significantly decreased compared with the control group(all P<0.05).After 30 d treatment,the sperm density and activity improved and the Ca 2 + content of sperm were increased significantly in the medium and high dose Wuziyanzong treatment groups in comparison with the model group(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The Wuziyanzong treatment increased sperm density,improved sperm viability and enhanced the content of Ca 2+ in the sperm cytoplasm and mitochondria in this rat model of oligoasthenospermia. | Tongsheng Wang Jinling Huang Deling Wu Qing Li Xiangguo Liu Han Chen Lei Qiao Dongdong Li Jun Li | 2012 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4: | 11 |

| 12 | Phylogenetic and genetic characterization of a 2017 clinical isolate of H7N9 virus in Guangzhou,China during the fifth epidemic wave显示文摘Pathogenic H7N9 influenza viruses continue to pose a public health concern. The H7N9 virus has caused five outbreak waves of human infections in China since 2013. In the present study, a novel H7N9 strain(A/Guangdong/8 H324/2017) was isolated from a female patient with severe respiratory illness during the fifth wave of the 2017 H7N9 epidemic. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the H7N9 viruses collected during the fifth wave belong to two different lineages: the Pearl River Delta lineage and the Yangtze River Delta lineage. The novel isolate is closely related to the Pearl River Delta H7N9 viruses, which were isolated from patients in Guangdong Province. The novel H7N9 isolate has an insertion of three basic amino acids in the cleavage site of hemagglutinin(HA), which may enhance virulence in poultry. The 2017 isolate also possesses an R292 K substitution in the neuraminidase(NA)protein, which confers oseltamivir resistance. | 14 | Primary site and regional lymph nodeinvolvement are independent prognosticfactors for early?stage extranodal nasal?typenatural killer/T cell lymphoma显示文摘Background:Nasal-type extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma(ENKTCL) originates primarily in the nasal cavity or extra-nasal sites within the upper aerodigestive tract.However,it is unclear whether the primary site can serve as an independent prognostic factor or whether the varying clinical outcomes observed with different primary sites can be attributed merely to their propensities of regional lymph node involvement.The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic implications of the primary site and regional lymph node involvement in patients with early-stage nasal-type ENKTCL.Methods:To develop a nomogram,we reviewed the clinical data of 215 consecutively diagnosed patients with early-stage nasal-type ENKTCL who were treated in Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center with chemotherapy and radiotherapy between 2000 and 2011.The predictive accuracy and discriminative ability of the nomogram were determined using a concordance index(C-index) and calibration curve.Results:The 5-year overall survival(OS) and progression-free survival(PFS) rates of patients with nasal ENKTCL were higher than those of patients with extra-nasal ENKTCL(OS:68.2%vs.46.0%,P = 0.030;PFS:53.4%vs.26.6%,P = 0.010).The 5-year OS and PFS rates of patients with Ann Arbor stage IE ENKTCL were higher than those of patients with Ann Arbor stage HE ENKTCL(OS:66.3%vs.59.2%,P = 0.003;PFS:51.4%vs.40.3%,P = 0.009).Multivariate analysis showed that age >60 years,ECOG performance status score >2,elevated lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) level,extranasal primary site,and regional lymph node involvement were significantly associated with lower 5-year OS rate;age >60 years,elevated LDH level,extra-nasal primary site,and regional lymph node involvement were significantly associated with lower 5-year PFS rate.The nomogram included the primary site and regional lymph node involvement based on multivariate analysis.The calibration curve showed good agreement between the predicted and actual 5-year OS and PFS rates,and the C-indexes of the nomogram for the OS and PFS rates were 0.697 and 0.634,respectively.Conclusions:The primary site and regional lymph node involvement are independent prognostic factors for earlystage ENKTCL treated with chemotherapy followed by definitive radiotherapy. | Shao‑Qing Niu Yong Yang Yi‑Yang Li Ge Wen Liang Wang Zhi‑Ming Li Han‑Yu Wang Lu‑Lu Zhang Yun‑Fei Xia Yu‑Jing Zhang | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Cancer2016,35,5: | 8 |

| 16 | Long-term trends in fog and boundary layer characteristics in Tianjin,China显示文摘Long-term trends in fog episodes,vertical variations of atmospheric boundary structure,and air pollutant concentrations during two different heavy fog events in the Tianjin area were analyzed.The total amount of fog has increased since 1980 due to the stability of the boundary layer and an increase of pollutant emissions.The variation in the characteristics of the boundary layer and air pollutant concentrations were significantly different between the two fog processes(fog 1 and fog II).The onset of fog I was accompanied by a temperature inversion in the low atmosphere,and the average kinetic energy showed a clear diurnal trend and vertical variation,which increased with height.The dissipation of fog I was mainly due to turbulence.However,the atmospheric stratification was not stable in the lower layer before the onset of fog II.The diurnal and vertical changes in kinetic energy were very small,in which turbulent momentum at each measurement height tended to be zero.In the dissipation process of fog II,wind speed increased significantly.Surface PM_(2.)5 concentrations decreased,but the ratio of PM_(2.5) to PM_(10)increased from 0.66 to 0.82 until fog I dissipated.However,the concentration of PM2.5 did not decrease at the early stage of fog II,but the ratio of PM_(2.5) to PM_(10) PM_(2.5)/PM_(10) decreased to 0.21 when fog II dissipated.This study showed that there was a clear difference in the evolution of pollutant concentration for different pollutants and in different developing stages during the fog events.PM2.5 concentration accumulated faster than those of SO_2 and NO_x,and the PM_(2.5) cumulative rate was greater in the mid-term of the fog process. | Suqin Han Ziying Cai Yufen Zhang Jiao Wang Qing Yao Peiyan Li Xiangjin Li | 2015 | Particuology2015,13,3: | 7 |
| 17 | A 14-year multi-institutional collaborative study of Chinese pelvic floor surgical procedures related to pelvic organ prolapse显示文摘Background:It has been a global trend that increasing complications related to pelvic floor surgeries have been reported over time.The current study aimed to outline the development of Chinese pelvic floor surgeries related to pelvic organ prolapse(POP)over the past 14 years and investigate the potential influence of enhanced monitoring conducted by the Chinese Association of Urogynecology since 2011.Methods:A total of 44,594 women with POP who underwent pelvic floor surgeries between October 1,2004 and September 30,2018 were included from 22 tertiary academic medical centers.The data were reported voluntarily and obtained from a database.We compared the proportion of each procedure in the 7 years before and 7 years after September 30,2011.The data were analyzed by performing Z test(one-sided).Results:The number of different procedures during October 1,2011-September 30,2018 was more than twice that during October 1,2004-September 30,2011.Regarding pelvic floor surgeries related to POP,the rate of synthetic mesh procedures increased from 38.1%(5298/13,906)during October 1,2004-September 30,2011 to 46.0%(14,107/30,688)during October 1,2011-September 30,2018,whereas the rate of non-mesh procedures decreased from 61.9%(8608/13,906)to 54.0%(16,581/30,688)(Z=15.53,P<0.001).Regarding synthetic mesh surgeries related to POP,the rates of transvaginal placement of surgical mesh(TVM)procedures decreased from 94.1%(4983/5298)to 82.2%(11,603/14,107)(Z=20.79,P<0.001),but the rate of laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy(LSC)procedures increased from 5.9%(315/5298)to 17.8%(2504/14,107).Conclusions:The rate of synthetic mesh procedures increased while that of non-mesh procedures decreased significantly.The rate of TVM procedures decreased while the rate of LSC procedures increased significantly.Trial registration number:NCT03620565,http://gffzz111276e5ed644ca6sv06vb9koob9565kn.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn. | Zhi-Jing Sun Xiu-Qi Wang Jing-He Lang Tao Xu Yong-Xian Lu Ke-Qin Hua Jin-Song Han Huai-Fang Li Xiao-Wen Tong Ping Wang Jian-Liu Wang Xin Yang Xiang-Hua Huang Pei-Shu Liu Yan-Feng Song Hang-Mei Jin Jing-Yan Xie Lu-Wen Wang Qing-Kai Wu Jian Gong Yan Wang Li-Qun Wang Zhao-Ai Li Hui-Cheng Xu Zhi-Jun Xia Li-Na Gu Qing Liu Lan Zhu | 2021 | Chinese Medical Journal2021,,2: | 7 |

| 19 | Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Lung Cancer Patients显示文摘The prevalence of malnutrition is high among oncology patients in China. Although the Patient- Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is widely recognized as an important nutritional assessment tool, it has not been validated for Chinese cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to conduct an analysis of nutrition screening and assessment data to validate the Chinese version of the PG-SGA in Chinese patients with lung cancer. This was an observational, cross-sectional study of 2,000 consecutive adult patients with lung cancer treated at several tertiary hospitals in China. Anthropometric and patient descriptive data were collected. The PG-SGA generated a score for the nutritional risk and a global rating for the nutritional status. The internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity were evaluated, and a known-groups comparison and principal component analyses were conducted to evaluate the reliability and validity of the PG-SGA. The known-groups comparison demonstrated the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate lung cancer patients of different nutritional and body mass index (BMI) groups. A confirmatory factor analysis supported the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. In terms of the internal and external consistency, the PG-SGA demonstrated intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) up to 0.987. Alternative form validity was also demonstrated between Box 4 of the PG-SGA and the Karnofsky Performance Status score, with excellent external consistency (r = 0.972, P < 0.001). The construct validity was supported, and selected questionnaire dimensions were evident in the principal component analysis. Significant Spearman correlations (P < 0.001) were demonstrated. The Chinese version of the PG-SGA demonstrated significant reliability and sufficient exploratory properties to support its validity. It seems to be a valid tool that can be used to access the nutritional status of Chinese lung cancer patients. | 20 | Convenient fabrication of BiOBr ultrathin nanosheets with rich oxygen vacancies for photocatalytic selective oxidation of secondary amines显示文摘Photocatalytic oxidation has been widely employed in organic synthesis,by virtue of the green,mild and simple reaction conditions as well as high selectivity.Introducing oxygen vacancies (OVs) with proper concentrations into the photocatalysts has been proven as an effective strategy to boost the catalytic performances.However,the currently used treatment method under high temperature at reducing atmosphere inevitably introduces a large number of OVs at the interior of the catalyst and serving as the recombination centers of carriers.To address this issue,here we develop a facile solvothermal process to prepare ultrathin BiOBr nanosheets with rich surface OVs.This method effectively decreases the bulk of the material and the ratio of interior OVs,rendering most of the OVs exposed on the surfaces which act as exposed catalytic sites and enhance the separation of carriers,therefore significantly elevates the photocatalytic performances.For the photo-oxidation reaction of secondary amines,under the conditions of visible light,ambient temperature and atmosphere,the BiOBr nanosheets featuring rich surface OVs deliver a doubled conversion compared to those with low OV concentrations,and a high selectivity of 99%,a high stability as the performance shows no reduction after 5 times of circular reaction. | Xuanjue Tong Xing Cao Tong Han Weng-Chon Cheong Rui Lin Zheng Chen Dingsheng Wang Chen Chen Qing Peng Yadong Li | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,7: | 7 |
