A laboratory test of the electrification phenomenon in wind-blown sand flux显示文摘The measured data in the wind-tunnel tests show that the wind-blown sand particles acquired a negative charge when their diameters are smaller than 250 μm and positive charge when their diameters are larger than 500 μm, which confirms Latham’s assumption that the large particles in wind-blown sand flux acquired positive charge while negative charge developed on small ones. In the meanwhile, the measured data also show that the average charge-to-mass ratio for wind-blown sand particles decreases with the increase of the particle diameter and the wind velocity, and increases with the rise of height. The electric field in wind-blown sand flux is mainly formed by the moving charged sand particles. Its direction is vertical to the Earth’s surface and upward, which is opposite to that of the fair-weather field. The electric field increases with wind velocity and height increasing. These experimental results will lay the foundation for developing the theoretical analysis of the electrification phenomenon inNing Huang Xiaojing Zheng 2001Chinese Science Bulletin2001,46,5:16
Diversity characterization and association analysis of agronomic traits in a Chinese peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) mini-core collection显示文摘Association mapping is a powerful approach for exploring the molecular basis of phenotypic variations in plants.A peanut(Arachis hypogaea L.)mini-core collection in China comprising 298 accessions was genotyped using 109 simple sequence repeat(SSR)markers, which identified 554 SSR alleles and phenotyped for 15 agronomic traits in three different environments, exhibiting abundant genetic and phenotypic diversity within the panel.A model-based structure analysis assigned all accessions to three groups. Most of the accessions had the relative kinship of less than 0.05,indicating that there were no or weak relationships between accessions of the mini-core collection. For 15 agronomic traits in the peanut panel, generally the Q t K model exhibited the best performance to eliminate the false associated positives compared to the Q model and the general linear model-simple model. In total,89SSR alleles were identified to be associated with 15 agronomic traits of three environments by the Q t K model-based association analysis.Of these, eight alleles were repeatedly detected in two or three environments, and 15 alleles were commonly detected to be associated with multiple agronomic traits.Simple sequence repeat allelic effects confirmed significant differences between different genotypes of these repeatedly detected markers. Our results demonstrate the great potential of integrating the association analysis and marker-assisted breeding by utilizing the peanut mini-core collection.Huifang Jiang Li Huang Xiaoping Ren Yuning Chen Xiaojing Zhou Youlin Xia Jiaquan Huang Yong Lei Liying Yan Liyun Wan Boshou Liao 2014Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2014,56,2:14
Effect of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells on lung damage in severe COVID-19 patients:a randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled phase 2 trial显示文摘Treatment of severe Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19)is challenging. We performed a phase 2 trial to assess the efficacy andsafety of human umbilical cord-mesenchymal stem cells(UC-MScs)to treat severe coViD-19 patients with lung damage, based onour phase 1 data.In this randomized,double-blind,and placebo-controlled trial,we recruited 101 severe coVID-19 patients withlung damage. They were randomly assigned at a 2:1 ratio to receive either UC-MSCs(4×10^(7)cells per infusion)or placebo on day 0,3,and 6.The primary endpoint was an altered proportion of whole lung lesion volumes from baseline to day 28.Other imagingoutcomes,6-minute walk test(6-MWT),maximum vital capacity, diffusing capacity, and adverse events were recorded and analyzed. In all,100 COVID-19 patients were finally received either UC-MSCs in=65)or placebo(n=35).UC-MSCs administrationexerted numerical improvement in whole lung lesion volume from baseline to day 28 compared with the placebo(the mediandifference was-13.31%,95%Cl-29.14%,2.13%,P=0.08).UC-MSCs significanty reduced the proportions of solid componentlesion volume compared with the placebo(median difference:-15.45%;95%CI-30.82%,-0.39%;P=0.043).The 6-MWT showedan increased distance in patients treated with UC-MSCs(difference:27.00 m;95%CI 0.00,57.00;P=0.057).The incidence of adverseevents was similar in the two groups. These results suggest that UC-MSCs treatment is a safe and potentially effective therapeuticapproach for COVID-19 patients with lung damage.A phase 3 trial is required to evaluate effects on reducing mortality andpreventing long-term pulmonary disability.Lei Shi Hai Huang Xuechun Lu Xiaoyan Yan Xiaojing Jiang Ruonan Xu Siyu Wang Chao Zhang Xin Yuan Zhe Xu Lei Huang Jun-Liang Fu Yuanyuan Li Yu Zhang Wei-Qi Yao Tianyi Liu Jinwen Song Liangliang Sun Fan Yang Xin Zhang Bo Zhang Ming Shi Fanping Meng Yanning Song Yongpei Yu Jiqiu Wen Qi Li Qing Mao Markus Maeurer Alimuddin Zumla Chen Yao Wei-Fen Xie Fu-Sheng Wang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,3:13
Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. Therefore the observation of Insight-HXMT constitutes an important chapter in the full context of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger observation of this historical GW event.TiPei Li ShaoLin Xiong ShuangNan Zhang FangJun Lu LiMing Song XueLei Cao Zhi Chang Gang Chen Li Chen TianXiang Chen Yong Chen YiBao Chen YuPeng Chen Wei Cui WeiWei Cui JingKang Deng YongWei Dong YuanYuan Du MinXue Fu GuanHua Gao He Gao Min Gao MingYu Ge YuDong Gu Ju Guan ChengCheng Guo DaWei Han Wei Hu Yue Huang Jia Huo ShuMei Jia LuHua Jiang WeiChun Jiang Jing Jin YongJie Jin Bing Li ChengKui Li Gang Li MaoShun Li Wei Li Xian Li XiaoBo Li XuFang Li YanGuo Li ZiJian Li ZhengWei Li XiaoHua Liang JinYuan Liao CongZhan Liu GuoQing Liu HongWei Liu ShaoZhen Liu XiaoJing Liu Yuan Liu YiNong Liu Bo Lu XueFeng Lu Tao Luo Xiang Ma Bin Meng Yi Nang JianYin Nie Ge OU JinLu Qu Na Sai Liang Sun Yin Tan Lian Tao WenHui Tao YouLi Tuo GuoFeng Wang HuanYu Wang Juan Wang WenShuai Wang YuSa Wang XiangYang Wen BoBing WU Mei Wu GuangCheng Xiao He Xu YuPeng Xu LinLi Yan JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang AiMei Zhang ChunLei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang HongMei Zhang Juan Zhang Qiang Zhang Shu Zhang Tong Zhang Wei Zhang WanChang Zhang WenZhao Zhang Yi Zhang Yue Zhang YiFei Zhang YongJie Zhang Zhao Zhang ZiLiang Zhang HaiSheng Zhao JianLing Zhao XiaoFan Zhao ShiJie Zheng Yue Zhu YuXuan Zhu ChangLin Zou 2018Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,3:12

GABAergic Abnormalities Associated with Sensorimotor Corticostriatal Community Structural Deficits in ErbB4 Knockout Mice and First-Episode Treatment-Naive Patients with Schizophrenia显示文摘The current study was designed to explore how disruption of specific molecular circuits in the cerebral cortex may cause sensorimotor cortico-striatal community structure deficits in both a mouse model and patients with schizophrenia. We used prepulse inhibition(PPI)and brain structural and diffusion MRI scans in 23 mice with conditional ErbB4 knockout in parvalbumin interneurons and 27 matched controls.Quantitative real-time PCR was used to assess the differential levels of GABA-related transcripts in brain regions.Concurrently,we measured structural and diffusion MRI and the cumulative contribution of risk alleles in the GABA pathway genes in firstepisode treatment-naı¨ve schizophrenic patients(n=117)and in age-and sex-matched healthy controls(n=86).We present the first evidence of gray and white matter impairment of right sensorimotor cortico-striatal networks and reproduced the sensorimotor gating deficit in a mouse model of schizophrenia.Significant correlations between gray matter volumes(GMVs)in the somatosensory cortex and PPI as well as glutamate decarboxylase 1 mRNA expression were found in controls but not in knockout mice.Furthermore, these findings were confirmed in a human sample in which we found significantly decreased gray and white matter in sensorimotor cortico-striatal networks in schizophrenic patients. The psychiatric risk alleles of the GABA pathway also displayed a significant negative correlation with the GMVs of the somatosensory cortex in patients. Our study identified that ErbB4 ablation in parvalbumin interneurons induced GABAergic dysregulation, providing valuable mechanistic insights into the sensorimotor cortico-striatal community structure deficits associated with schizophrenia.Chengcheng Zhang Peiyan Ni Yikang Liu Yang Tian Jinxue Wei Bo Xiang Liansheng Zhao Xiaojing Li Xiaohong Ma Wei Deng Wanjun Guo Rongjun Ni Yamin Zhang Qiang Wang Hailiang Huang Nanyin Zhang Tao Li 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,2:9

Efficient and stable planar all-inorganic perovskite solar cells based on high-quality CsPbBr3 films with controllable morphology显示文摘All-inorganic cesium lead bromide(CsPbBr3)perovskite is attracting growing interest as functional materials in photovoltaics and other optoelectronic devices due to its superb stability. However, the fabrication of high-quality CsPbBr3 films still remains a big challenge by solution-process because of the low solubility of the cesium precursor in common solvents.Herein,we report a facile solution-processed approach to prepare high-quality CsPbBr3 perovskite films via a two-step spin-coating method,in which the Cs Br methanol/H2 O mixed solvent solution is spin-coated onto the lead bromide films, followed by an isopropanol-assisted post-treatment to regulate the crystallization process and to control the film morphology. In this fashion, dense and uniform CsPbBr3 films are obtained consisting of large crystalline domains with sizes up to microns and low defect density. The effectiveness of the resulting CsPbBr3 films is further examined in perovskite solar cells(PSCs)with a simplified planar architecture of fluorine–doped tin oxide/compact Ti O2/CsPbBr3/carbon,which deliver a maximum power conversion efficiency of 8.11%together with excellent thermal and humidity stability. The present work offers a simple and effective strategy in fabrication of high-quality CsPbBr3 films for efficient and stable PSCs as well as other optoelectronic devices.Xiaojing Wan Ze Yu Wenming Tian Fuzhi Huang Shengye Jin Xichuan Yang Yi-Bing Cheng Anders Hagfeldt Licheng Sun 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,7:6
Expert consensus on early childhood caries management显示文摘Early childhood caries(ECC)is a significant chronic disease of childhood and a rising public health burden worldwide.ECC may cause a higher risk of new caries lesions in both primary and permanent dentition, affecting lifelong oral health. The occurrence of ECC has been closely related to the core microbiome change in the oral cavity, which may be influenced by diet habits, oral health management, fluoride use,and dental manipulations. So,it is essential to improve parental oral health and awareness of health care,to establish a dental home at the early stage of childhood, and make an individualized caries management plan.Dental interventions according to the minimally invasive concept should be carried out to treat dental caries. This expert consensus mainly discusses the etiology of ECC,caries-risk assessment of children, prevention and treatment plan of ECC,aiming to achieve lifelong oral health.Jing Zou Qin Du Lihong Ge Jun Wang Xiaojing Wang Yuqing Li Guangtai Song Wei Zhao Xu Chen Beizhan Jiang Yufeng Mei Yang Huang Shuli Deng Hongmei Zhang Yanhong Li Xuedong Zhou 2022International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,3:5
Tribological and anti-corrosion performance of epoxy resin composite coatings reinforced with differently sized cubic boron nitride(CBN)particles显示文摘A series of high solid content(30 wt%)epoxy resin(EP)composite coatings reinforced with differently sized cubic boron nitride(CBN)particles were fabricated successfully on 304 L stainless steel.Polydopamine(PDA)was used to improve the dispersibility of CBN particles in EP.The structural and morphological features of the CBN particles and the composite coatings were characterized by Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Moreover,a UMT-3 tribometer and surface profiler were used to investigate the tribological behaviors of the as-prepared composite coatings.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and Tafel analysis were used to investigate the coatings'anti-corrosion performance. The results demonstrated that the CBN fillers could effectively enhance the tribological and anti-corrosion properties of the EP composite coatings. In addition, when the additive proportion of the microsized(5μm)and nanosized(550 nm)CBN particles was 1:1,the tribological property of the EP composite coatings was optimal for dry sliding, which was attributed to the load carrying capability of the microsized CBN particles and the toughening effect of the nanosized CBN particles. However, when the additive proportion of the microsized and nanosized CBN particles was 2:1,the tribology and corrosion resistance performance were optimal in seawater conditions. We ascribed this to the load-carrying capacity of the microparticles, which played a more important role under the seawater lubrication condition, and the more compact structure, which improved the electrolyte barrier ability for the composite coatings.Zhiping HUANG Wenjie ZHAO Wenchao ZHAO Xiaojing CI Wentao LI 2021Friction2021,9,1:5
Single-cell RNA sequencing reveals a high-resolution cell atlas of xylem in Populus显示文摘High-throughputsingle-cellRNAsequencing(sc RNA-seq) has advantages over traditional RNA-seq to explore spatiotemporal information on gene dynamic expressions in heterogenous tissues. We performed Drop-seq, a method for the dropwise sequestration of single cells for sequencing, on protoplasts from the differentiating xylem of Populus alba × Populus glandulosa. The sc RNA-seq profiled9,798 cells, which were grouped into 12 clusters.Through characterization of differentially expressed genes in each cluster and RNA in situ hybridizations,we identified vessel cells, fiber cells, ray parenchyma cells and xylem precursor cells. Diffusion pseudotime analyses revealed the differentiating trajectory of vessels, fiber cells and ray parenchyma cells and indicated a different differentiation process between vessels and fiber cells, and a similar differentiation process between fiber cells and ray parenchyma cells. We identified marker genes for each cell type(cluster) and key candidate regulators during developmental stages of xylem cell differentiation. Our study generates a high-resolution expression atlas of wood formation at the single cell level and provides valuable information on wood formation.Hui Li Xinren Dai Xiong Huang Mengxuan Xu Qiao Wang Xiaojing Yan Ronald R.Sederoff Quanzi Li 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,11:4
Puerarin, an isoflavone compound extracted from Gegen (Radix Puerariae Lobatae), modulates sclera remodeling caused by extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the protective effect of puerarin [an isoflavone compound extracted from Gegen(Radix Puerariae Lobatae)] in scleral remodeling induced by extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields(ELF-EMFs).METHODS: Human fetal scleral fibroblasts(HFSFs)were divided into 5 groups:(a) untreated controls;(b) cells treated with ELF-EMFs;(c) cells treated with ELF-EMFs and puerarin 0.1 μM;(d) cells treated with ELF-EMFs and puerarin 1 μM;(e) cells treated with ELF-EMFs and puerarin 10 μM. Cell proliferation activity was measured by the cell-counting kit-8 assay. It might be a potential agent for the treatment of extracellular matrix degradation of sclera associated with ocular conditions.Tian Tian Cai Xiaojing Zhu Huang 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,5:4
An aptamer-based shear horizontal surface acoustic wave biosensor with a CVD-grown single- layered graphene film for high-sensitivity detection of a label-free endotoxin显示文摘The thickness of the sensitive layer has an important influence on the sensitivity of a shear horizontal surface acoustic wave(SH-SAW)biosensor with a delay-line structure and lower layer numbers of graphene produce better sensitivity for biological detection. Therefore,a label-free and highly sensitive SH-SAW biosensor with chemical vapor deposition(CVD-)-grown single-layered graphene(SLG)for endotoxin detection was developed in this study. With this methodology,SH-SAW biosensors were fabricated on a 36°Y-90°X quartz substrate with a base frequency of 246.2MHz,and an effective detection cell was fabricated using acrylic material. To increase the surface hydrophilicity, chitosan was applied to the surface of the SLG film.Additionally, the aptamer was immobilized on the surface of the SLG film by cross-linking with glutaraldehyde. Finally, the sensitivity was verified by endotoxin detection with a linear detection ranging from 0 to 100 ng/mL,and the detection limit(LOD)was as low as 3.53 ng/mL.In addition, the stability of this type of SH-SAW biosensor from the air phase to the liquid phase proved to be excellent and the specificity was tested and verified by detecting the endotoxin obtained from Escherichia coli(E.coli),the endotoxin obtained from Pseudomonas aeruginosa(P.aeruginosa),and aflatoxin. Therefore, this type of SH-SAW biosensor with a CVD-grown SLG film may offer a promising approach to endotoxin detection, and it may have great potential in clinical applications.Junwang Ji Yiquan Pang Dongxiao Li Zheng Huang Zuwei Zhang Ning Xue Yi Xu Xiaojing Mu 2020Microsystems & Nanoengineering2020,6,1:3

Effect of puerarin on matrix metalloproteinase-2 in human fetal scleral fibroblasts treated with low frequency electromagnetic fields显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of puerarin on matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)gene and protein expression in human fetal scleral fibroblasts(HFSFs)exposed to extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields(ELF-EMF).METHODS:Cultured HFSFs were exposed to 0.2mT ELF-EMF for 24 h.The experimental groups were divided into subgroups treated with 0,0.1,1and 10μM puerarin respectively. The expression of MMP-2 mRNA and protein were detected with real-time polymerase chain reaction and western-blot analysis respectively.RESULTS:MMP-2 mRNA and protein expression increased by 0.793 and 1.130 folds respectively under the exposure of ELF-EMFs at 0.2 mT flux density for24 h.Puerarin at the concentration of 0.1μM reversed this effect by 8.53%in mRNA and by 17.97%in protein expression(P<0.05).The effect was more prominent at higher concentrations(1 and 10μM,P<0.01).CONCLUSION:Exposure to ELF-EMFs increased the expression of MMP-2 mRNA and protein in HFSF cells.Puerarin reversed the action to some extent in a specific concentration range. Our results implied that the puerarin might protect scleral tissue from increased expression induced by exposure to ELF-EMFs.Huang Zhu Xiaojing Cai Xianqun Fan 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,5:3
Impact of clinical research on public health policy of neonatal screening for congenital heart disease in China显示文摘Congenital heart disease(CHD)is one of the most common congenital malformations, with a prevalence of approximately 1%in live births.[1,2]Among them,1/4 to 1/3 are major CHD,including critical CHD(CCHD)and serious CHD,which require surgical or catheter intervention before 1 year of age.[3]Major CHD,if left untreated, may cause serious outcomes, such as heart failure, cardiogenic shock, acidosis, and hypoxic-ischemic brain damage, and is one of the leading causes of infant death and childhood disability.[4]The missed diagnosis rate of CCHD in four nurseries ranges from 13%to 48%in developed countries,[4,5]but in China,is>71%before serious symptoms occur after birth.[6]Therefore,screening for CHD is useful for early detection, diagnosis, and treatment and helps to improve prognosis and reduces the medical, economic, and mental burden to both the family and the society.[5,7]Miao Yang Youping Tian Pin Jia Xiaojing Ma Xiaoling Ge Xiaojing Hu Quming Zhao Fang Liu Bing Jia Weili Yan Qing Gu Guoying Huang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,11:3
The genome of the recretohalophyte Limonium bicolor provides insights into salt gland development and salinity adaptation during terrestrial evolution显示文摘Halophytes have evolved specialized strategies to cope with high salinity. The extreme halophyte sea lavender(Limonium bicolor)lacks trichomes but possesses salt glands on its epidermis that can excrete harmful ions, such as sodium,to avoid salt damage. Here,we report a high-quality,2.92-Gb,chromosome-scale L.bicolor genome assembly based on a combination of Illumina short reads,single-molecule,real-time long reads, chromosome conformation capture(Hi-C)data,and Bionano genome maps, greatly enriching the genomic information on recretohalophytes with multicellular salt glands.Although the L.bicolor genome contains genes that show similarity to trichome fate genes from Arabidopsis thaliana,it lacks homologs of the decision fate genes GLABRA3,ENHANCER OF GLABRA3,GLABRA2,TRANSPARENT TESTA GLABRA2,and SIAMESE,providing a molecular explanation for the absence of trichomes in this species. We identified key genes(LbHLH and LbTTG1)controlling salt gland development among classical trichome homologous genes and confirmed their roles by showing that their mutations markedly disrupted salt gland initiation, salt secretion, and salt tolerance, thus offering genetic support for the long-standing hypothesis that salt glands and trichomes may share a common origin. In addition,a whole-genome duplication event occurred in the L.bicolor genome after its divergence from Tartary buckwheat and may have contributed to its adaptation to high salinity. The L.bicolor genome resource and genetic evidence reported in this study provide profound insights into plant salt tolerance mechanisms that may facilitate the engineering of salt-tolerant crops.Fang Yuan Xi Wang Boqing Zhao Xiaojing Xu Miao Shi Bingying Leng Xinxiu Dong Chaoxia Lu Zhongtao Feng Jianrong Guo Guoliang Han Haikuan Zhang Jianwei Huang Min Chen Bao-Shan Wang 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,6:3

Effects of the mid-air collision on sand saltation显示文摘As to the fact that the effects of saltating particles’ mid-air collision on the sand transport rate are often neglected in the current theoretical models describing sand saltation movement, expressions to calculate velocity diversity of saltating parti-cles after mid-air collision are presented through collision theory of hard ball in this paper. Then, the theoretical model of the wind blown sand movement at the steady state, taking account of coupled interaction between saltation particles and wind,is combined with the model of the mid-air collision probability to calculate the sal-tating particles’ mass flux at heights, the sand transport rate, and further, their changing rules. The comparison of the results with those when the mid-air collision is not considered suggests that the mass flux at heights and the sand transport rate in this paper are less, and much closer, respectively,to the corresponding experi-mental values. The difference between the sand mass fluxes without and with con-sideration of mid-air collision increases at first, and then decreases as the height increases, exhibiting the stratified characteristics.HUANG Ning REN Shan ZHENG XiaoJing 2008Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2008,51,9:3
