| 3 | Comparative genomic and transcriptomic analyses uncover the molecular basis of high nitrogen-use efficiency in the wheat cultivar Kenong 9204显示文摘Studying the regulatory mechanisms that drive nitrogen-use efficiency(NUE)in crops is important for sustainable agriculture and environmental protection.In this study,we generated a high-quality genome assembly for the high-NUE wheat cultivar Kenong 9204 and systematically analyzed genes related to nitrogen uptake and metabolism.By comparative analyses,we found that the high-affinity nitrate transporter gene family had expanded in Triticeae.Further studies showed that subsequent functional differentiation endowed the expanded family members with saline inducibility,providing a genetic basis for improving the adaptability of wheat to nitrogen deficiency in various habitats.To explore the genetic and molecular mechanisms of high NUE,we compared genomic and transcriptomic data from the high-NUE cultivar Kenong 9204(KN9204)and the low-NUE cultivar Jing 411 and quantified their nitrogen accumulation under high-and low-nitrogen conditions.Compared with Jing 411,KN9204 absorbed significantly more nitrogen at the reproductive stage after shooting and accumulated it in the shoots and seeds.Transcriptome data analysis revealed that nitrogen deficiency clearly suppressed the expression of genes related to cell division in the young spike of Jing 411,whereas this suppression of gene expression was much lower in KN9204.In addition,KN9204 maintained relatively high expression of NPF genes for a longer time than Jing 411 during seed maturity.Physiological and transcriptome data revealed that KN9204 was more tolerant of nitrogen deficiency than Jing 411,especially at the reproductive stage.The high NUE of KN9204 is an integrated effect controlled at different levels.Taken together,our data provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of NUE and important gene resources for improving wheat cultivars with a higher NUE trait. | Xiaoli Shi Fa Cui Xinyin Han Yilin He Long Zhao Na Zhang Hao Zhang Haidong Zhu Zhexin Liu Bin Ma Shusong Zheng Wei Zhang Jiajia Liu Xiaoli Fan Yaoqi Si Shuiquan Tian Jianqing Niu Huilan Wu Xuemei Liu Zhuo Chen Deyuan Meng Xiaoyan Wang Liqiang Song Lijing Sun Jie Han Hui Zhao Jun Ji Zhiguo Wang Xiaoyu He Ruilin Li Xuebin Chi Chengzhi Liang Beifang Niu Jun Xiao Junming Li Hong-Qing Ling | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,9: | 6 |
| 4 | A flow cytometer based protocol for quantitative analysis of bloom-forming cyanobacteria(Microcystis) in lake sediments显示文摘A quantitative protocol for the rapid analysis of Microcystis cells and colonies in lake sediment was developed using a modified flow cytometer,the CytoSense.For cell enumeration,diluted sediment samples containing Microcystis were processed with sonication to disintegrate colonies into single cells.An optimized procedure suggested that 5 mg dw(dry weight)/mL dilution combined with 200 W × 2 min sonication yielded the highest counting efficiency.Under the optimized determination conditions,the quantification limit of this protocol was 3.3×10 4 cells/g dw.For colony analysis,Microcystis were isolated from the sediment by filtration.Colony lengths measured by flow cytometry were similar to those measured by microscopy for the size range of one single cell to almost 400 μm in length.Moreover,the relationship between colony size and cell number was determined for three Microcystis species,including Microcystis flos-aquae,M.aeruginosa and M.wessenbergii.Regression formulas were used to calculate the cell numbers in differentsized colonies.The developed protocol was applied to field sediment samples from Lake Taihu.The results indicated the potential and applicability of flow cytometry as a tool for the rapid analysis of benthic Microcystis.This study provided a new capability for the high frequency monitoring of benthic overwintering and population dynamics of this bloom-forming cyanobacterium. | Quan Zhou Wei Chen Huiyong Zhang Liang Peng Liming Liu Zhiguo Han Neng Wan Lin Li Lirong Song | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,9: | 5 |
| 5 | Effects of Airflow Field on Droplets Diameter inside the Corrugated Packing of a Rotating Packed Bed显示文摘Rotating packing bed(RPB) has a better mixing performance than traditional mixers and shows potential application in the petroleum industry. However, acquisition of information about the mixing process directly through experiments is difficult because of the compact structure and complex multiphase flow pattern in RPB. To study the mixing characteristic, Fluent, the computational fluid dynamics(CFD) software, was used to explore the effect of airflow field on droplet diameter. For conducting calculations, the gas-liquid two-phase flow inside the packing was simulated with the RNG k-ε turbulence model and the Lagrange Discrete Phase Model(DPM), respectively. | 6 | High-Throughput Rice Density Estimation from Transplantation to Tillering Stages Using Deep Networks显示文摘Rice density is closely related to yield estimation,growth diagnosis,cultivated area statistics,and management and damage evaluation.Currently,rice density estimation heavily relies on manual sampling and counting,which is inefficient and inaccurate.With the prevalence of digital imagery,computer vision(CV)technology emerges as a promising alternative to automate this task.However,challenges of an in-field environment,such as illumination,scale,and appearance variations,render gaps for deploying CV methods.To fill these gaps towards accurate rice density estimation,we propose a deep learningbased approach called the Scale-Fusion Counting Classification Network(SFC^(2)Net)that integrates several state-of-the-art computer vision ideas.In particular,SFC^(2)Net addresses appearance and illumination changes by employing a multicolumn pretrained network and multilayer feature fusion to enhance feature representation.To ameliorate sample imbalance engendered by scale,SFC^(2)Net follows a recent blockwise classification idea.We validate SFC^(2)Net on a new rice plant counting(RPC)dataset collected from two field sites in China from 2010 to 2013.Experimental results show that SFC^(2)Net achieves highly accurate counting performance on the RPC dataset with a mean absolute error(MAE)of 25.51,a root mean square error(MSE)of 38.06,a relative MAE of 3.82%,and a R^(2) of 0.98,which exhibits a relative improvement of 48.2%w.r.t.MAE over the conventional counting approach CSRNet.Further,SFC^(2)Net provides high-throughput processing capability,with 16.7 frames per second on 1024×1024 images.Our results suggest that manual rice counting can be safely replaced by SFC^(2)Net at early growth stages.Code and models are available online at http://gffzzb7e65fbbf9234179skwk55q6w9vfq6qqc.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/sfc2net. | Liang Liu Hao Lu Yanan Li Zhiguo Cao | 2020 | Plant Phenomics2020,2,1: | 2 |

| 20 | One-step synthesis of carbon-coated monocrystal molybdenum oxides nanocomposite as high-capacity anode materials for lithiumion batteries显示文摘Benefitting from higher specific capacities,acceptable cost,nontoxicity and unique crystal structures,the molybdenum oxides have been studied as the anode materials for lithium ion batteries(LIBs).Herein,a direct current(DC)arc-discharge plasma technique has been developed to in-situ synthesize carboncoated monocrystal molybdenum oxides((MoO3NRs/MoO2NPs)@C)nanocomposites,using coarse MoO_(3) bulk as the raw material and methane(CH4)gas as the carbon source.It is indicated that crystallographic traits of MoO_(3) and MoO2 nuclei give rise to an anisotropic growth of monocrystal MoO3 nanorods(NRs)along<100>direction and an isotropic growth of monocrystal MoO_(2) nanoparticles(NPs).The carbon shells on MoO3/MoO2 nanostructures are generated from the absorption of carbon atoms in surrounding atmosphere or the release of supersaturated carbon atoms in MoeOeC solid solution.Unique constitution and pseudo-capacitive behavior of(MoO3NRs/MoO2NPs)@C bring merits to excellent cycling performance and rate capability,i.e.a remarkable specific capacity of 840 mAh·g^(-1) after 100 cycles at a current density of 0.1 Ag^(-1) and a retained capacity of 210 mAh·g^(-1) at 6.4 A g^(-1).This work has offered a simple and efficient approach to fabricate the carbon-coated molybdenum oxides nanostructures for promising anode materials of LIBs。 | Zhiguo Rong Canfeng Fang Zhongyuan Zhang Wenfang Miao Xiyang Li Jingshuang Liang Wenfei Yang Yinong Wang Xiane Guo Youngguan Jung Xinglong Dong | 2021 | Journal of Materiomics2021,7,3: | 1 |
