| 1 | Surrogate-Assisted Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm With Pareto Active Learning for Expensive Multi-Objective Optimization显示文摘For multi-objective optimization problems, particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm generally needs a large number of fitness evaluations to obtain the Pareto optimal solutions. However, it will become substantially time-consuming when handling computationally expensive fitness functions. In order to save the computational cost, a surrogate-assisted PSO with Pareto active learning is proposed. In real physical space(the objective functions are computationally expensive), PSO is used as an optimizer, and its optimization results are used to construct the surrogate models. In virtual space, objective functions are replaced by the cheaper surrogate models, PSO is viewed as a sampler to produce the candidate solutions. To enhance the quality of candidate solutions, a hybrid mutation sampling method based on the simulated evolution is proposed, which combines the advantage of fast convergence of PSO and implements mutation to increase diversity. Furthermore, ε-Pareto active learning(ε-PAL)method is employed to pre-select candidate solutions to guide PSO in the real physical space. However, little work has considered the method of determining parameter ε. Therefore, a greedy search method is presented to determine the value ofεwhere the number of active sampling is employed as the evaluation criteria of classification cost. | 2 | The net primary productivity of Mid-Jurassic peatland and its control factors: Evidenced by the Ordos Basin显示文摘Using the large-scale thick 4# coal seam from the Mid-Jurassic in the southern Ordos Basin as an example, this paper studied the net primary productivity(NPP) level of the Mid-Jurassic peatland, and discussed its control factors. Geophysical logging signals were used for a spectrum analysis to obtain the Milankovitch cycle parameters in coal seam. These were then used to calculate the accumulation rate of the residual carbon in 4# coal seam. The carbon loss can be calculated according to the density and residual carbon content of 4# coal seam. Then, the total carbon accumulation rate of the peatland was further derived, and the NPP of peatland was determined. The results show that the NPP of MidJurassic peatland is higher than that of Holocene at the same latitude. | 10 | Tunable piezoelectric and ferroelectric responses of Al1-xScxN:The role of atomic arrangement显示文摘In this study,we present first-principles investigations of the atomic structure of Al_(1-x)Sc_(x)N and its influence on its piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties.The unbiased structure searching revealed that Al_(1-x)Sc_(x)N with phase separation feature,where Al N and Sc N form a layered structure with different symmetries,is more stable than the corresponding wurtzite structure.The piezoelectric response of Al_(1-x)Sc_(x)N is strongly dependent on the atomic arrangements;in particular,Al_(0.5)Sc_(0.5)N with a wurtzite structure exhibits a large positive e33of 4.79 C/m^(2),whereas Al_(0.5)Sc_(0.5)N with a phase separation structure exhibits a negative e33of-0.67 C/m^(2).Moreover,the ferroelectric switching of Al_(1-x)Sc_(x)N demonstrated two distinct pathways for the wurtzite and phase separation structures,and the spontaneous polarization thus calculated exhibits entirely different values.Accordingly,we demonstrated that Al_(1-x)Sc_(x)N with a phase separation structure exhibits a low polarization switching barrier of 0.15 e V/f.u.and a large spontaneous polarization of-0.77 C/m^(2);thus,it can serve as a novel Al_(1-x)Sc_(x)N-based ferroelectric material.As the dipoles in Al_(1-x)Sc_(x)N with a phase separation structure are localized in the AlN region,they are individually switchable at no domain wall energy cost and are stable against extrinsic effects. | Hang Zang Zhiming Shi Mingrui Liu Yuping Jia Ke Jiang Jianwei Ben Yang Chen Shunpeng Lv Xiaojuan Sun Dabing Li | 2023 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,7: | 0 |

| 15 | A specific assay for JmjC domain-containing lysine demethylase and its application to inhibitor screening显示文摘Dear Editor, Chromatin is the macromolecular complex of DNA and histone proteins, which provides the scaffold for the packaging of our entire genome. In the basic unit of chromatin, the nucleosomes contain 147 base pairs of DNA, which is wrapped around a histone octamer, with two each of histones H2A, H2B, H3, and H4. Several types of post-translational modifications, including acetylation, phosphorylation, ubiquitination, and methylation, are possible on the tails of histones (Zhang et al., 2015). Combinations of these modifications determine the chromatin structure and transcriptional regulation of genes. Histone methylation is highlighted because of the specific dynamics related to gene regulation. Aberrant histone methylation has been observed in many types of tumors (Albert and Helin, 2010) and may contribute to the neoplastic transformation of cells (Chi et al., 2010). Histone lysine methylation is regulated by two classes of enzymes that have opposing activities: histone lysine methyltransferases (KMTs) and histone lysine demethylases (KDMs). | 16 | The deep background of large-scale,Mesozoic Cu-Au-W metallogenesis in northeastern South China:Constraints from Yingshan-Changshan wide-angle seismic reflection/refraction data显示文摘To investigate the geodynamic processes of Mesozoic large-scale mineralization in South China,we deployed a 350-km-long,wide-angle seismic reflection/refraction sounding profile between Yingshan in Hubei and Changshan in Zhejiang.This profile traverses the Cu-Au metallogenic belt in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River(YMB),the Jiangnan W-polymetal metallogenic belt(JNMB),and the Qinhang Cu-polymetal metallogenic belt(QHMB).Our imaging results reveal various interesting velocity features along the profile.(1)The velocity structure is characterized by vertical layering and horizontal blocking;(2)the YMB is marked by high velocity and high V_(p)/V_(s) ratios in general with a significantly uplifted Moho interface and a thin crust of~31 km,and the lower crust contains high-velocity anomalies and has the characteristics of a crustmantle transition zone;(3)the JNMB is bounded by the Jiangnan fault and Jingdezhen-Huangshan fault and has low-velocity anomalies and low V_(p)/V_(s) ratios;and(4)the QHMB is characterized by high-velocity anomalies and high V_(p)/V_(s) ratios.The highvelocity anomalies in the YMB and QHMB represent relatively Cu-Au-rich mafic juvenile lower crust.The formation of this kind of crust is considered to be related to mantle-derived magma underplating or residues of Neoproterozoic oceanic crustal materials,and it also provided sources for large-scale Cu-Au mineralization in the Mesozoic.The JNMB has features similar to those of ancient crusts enriched in W-Sn,the partial melting of which played a leading role in the formation of the superlarge W deposits in this belt.Considering these results and other regional geological data,we propose that a large-scale oblique upwelling of the asthenosphere along the collisional belt of the Yangtze and Cathaysia blocks during the Mesozoic was the deep driving mechanism for the explosive mineralization of Cu,Au,and W in northeastern South China.The boundaries of the blocks or terrains and discontinuities of the lithosphere were the main channels for deep heat and magmas and therefore controlled the spatial distribution of the metallogenic belt. | Jue HOU Tao XU Qingtian LV Zhiming BAI Yongqian ZHANG Zhiyu ZHANG Dan YANG | 2022 | Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,11: | 0 |
