1East Asian monsoon change for the 21st century: Results of CMIP3 and CMIP5 models显示文摘Forty-two climate models participating in the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phases 3 and 5 were first evaluated in terms of their ability to simulate the present climatology of the East Asian winter (December-February) and summer (June-August) monsoons. The East Asian winter and summer monsoon changes over the 21st century were then projected using the results of 31 and 29 reliable climate models under the Special Report on Emissions Scenarios (SRES) mid-range A1B scenario or the Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) mid-low-range RCP4.5 scenario, respectively. Results showed that the East Asian winter monsoon changes little over time as a whole relative to the reference period 1980-1999. Regionally, it weakens (strengthens) north (south) of about 25°N in East Asia, which results from atmospheric circulation changes over the western North Pacific and Northeast Asia owing to the weakening and northward shift of the Aleutian Low, and from decreased north- west-southeast thermal and sea level pressure differences across Northeast Asia. In summer, monsoon strengthens slightly in East China over the 21st century as a consequence of an increased land-sea thermal contrast between the East Asian continent and the adjacent western North Pacific and South China Sea.JIANG DaBang TIAN ZhiPing 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,12:35
2Differences between CMIP6 and CMIP5 Models in Simulating Climate over China and the East Asian Monsoon显示文摘We compare the ability of coupled global climate models from the phases 5 and 6 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CMIP5 and CMIP6,respectively)in simulating the temperature and precipitation climatology and interannual variability over China for the period 1961–2005 and the climatological East Asian monsoon for the period 1979–2005.All 92 models are able to simulate the geographical distribution of the above variables reasonably well.Compared with earlier CMIP5 models,current CMIP6 models have nationally weaker cold biases,a similar nationwide overestimation of precipitation and a weaker underestimation of the southeast–northwest precipitation gradient,a comparable overestimation of the spatial variability of the interannual variability,and a similar underestimation of the strength of winter monsoon over northern Asia.Pairwise comparison indicates that models have improved from CMIP5 to CMIP6 for climatological temperature and precipitation and winter monsoon but display little improvement for the interannual temperature and precipitation variability and summer monsoon.The ability of models relates to their horizontal resolutions in certain aspects.Both the multi-model arithmetic mean and median display similar skills and outperform most of the individual models in all considered aspects.Dabang JIANG Dan HU Zhiping TIAN and Xianmei LANG 2020Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,10:28

5Corrosion mechanism investigation of TiN/Ti coating and TC4 alloy for aircraft compressor application显示文摘It is imperative to develop multifunctional erosion and corrosion resistant coatings for compressor blades of aircraft engines in harsh environment.PVD(Physical Vapor Deposition)technology has the advances in processing erosion-resistant coatings;however,the performance of PVD coatings to combat corrosion depends on various coating defects.Determining and comparing the corrosion performances of PVD TiN/Ti coating and uncoated TC4 alloy was the main objective of present work.The 960 h salt spray corrosion and 116 h hot corrosion tests were conducted to simulate the grounding and working environments of the aircraft compressors.The corrosion mechanisms due to the coating defects such as pinhole,columnar boundary and large grain were analyzed based on the OM,Confocal microscope,electrochemical measurements,SEM,XRD and EDS results.Owing to the disordered state associated with the columnar boundary and the coating defect,nitrogen could be easily replaced by oxygen in the hot corrosion process,these structures were channels for fast diffusion of oxygen.Moreover,the Gibbs energy changes of Ti oxidation and TiN oxidation were thermodynamically calculated according to the working condition of aircraft compressors,and considerable research effort was focused on mapping out the phase diagram of Ti,TiN and high pressure gases.The findings of this research can provide insights into developing multifunctional coatings for future aircraft engines.Zhiping SUN Guangyu HE Qingjie MENG Yuqin LI Xiaodong TIAN 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,6:11

7Long-term effect of stenting in unprotected left main coronary artery disease in the elderly显示文摘To evaluate the feasibility, safety and efficacy of percutaneous stent implantation for treating left main coronary artery (LMCA) stenosis. Methods Consecutive patients with unprotected left main coronary artery disease treated by stent-based percutaneous intervention (PCI) at 6 medical centers in China were enrolled. Procedural data and clinical outcomes were obtained from all patients. Results From January 2001 to December 2004, 138 patients (79 males and 59 females; mean age: 69.7±5.8 years)underwent PCI for LMCA stenosis. Bare metal stents (BMS) were implanted in 51 patients with non-bifurcational lesions and in 5 patients with bifurcational lesions from January of 2001 to June of 2003 (BMS group);. Drug eluting stents (DES) were used unselectively to cover both bifurcational and non-bifurcational lesions in 86 patients from July of 2003 to December of 2004 (DES group). Procedural success rate of the 138 cases was 98% (135/138). One patient (0.7%) with bifurcation lesion who was treated with DES died from severe heart failure 2 weeks after the procedure. During a mean follow up period of 21.3 ± 5.6 months, one patient died from renal failure, one from sudden cardiac death, 4 underwent target lesion revascularization (TLR) in the BMS group, which all occurred in patients with bifurcational lesions; whereas in the DES group no deaths occurred and only one patient with bifurcational lesion had TLR. Conclusions (1) PCI is feasible and relatively safe to treat unprotected left main coronary artery disease in elderly patients at medical centers with experienced professionals. (2) BMS and DES have similar immediate and long-term efficacy in the treatment of ostium and shaft lesions of the LMCA. 12A novel stochastic collocation method for uncertainty propagation in complex mechanical systems显示文摘This paper presents a novel stochastic collocation method based on the equivalent weak form of multivariate function integral to quantify and manage uncertainties in complex mechanical systems. The proposed method, which combines the advantages of the response surface method and the traditional stochastic collocation method, only sets integral points at the guide lines of the response surface. The statistics, in an engineering problem with many uncertain parameters, are then transformed into a linear combination of simple functions' statistics. Furthermore, the issue of determining a simple method to solve the weight-factor sets is discussed in detail. The weight-factor sets of two commonly used probabilistic distribution types are given in table form. Studies on the computational accuracy and efforts show that a good balance in computer capacity is achieved at present. It should be noted that it's a non-gradient and non-intrusive algorithm with strong portability. 15Green heating:Theory and practice显示文摘Energy conservation in heating systems has great influence on overall sustainable development strategy. Heating technology, especially combined heat and power(CHP, cogeneration), has been attracting increased interest and rapidly developing in recent years. However, the theoretical potential of heating from the perspective of thermodynamics has not been clearly illustrated. This paper presents a theoretical analysis of heating systems based on the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics using the specific fuel consumption(SFC) analysis method, clarifies the theoretical potential limitation of heating systems and illustrates the process of reversible heating on the basis of the total energy system. A novel concept(green heating, GH) and a new indicator(green-heating index, GH Index) are scientifically defined to characterise different options for heating and to quantitatively evaluate their fuel consumption levels. Thereafter, the fuel consumptions of four typical space heating modes are compared and discussed to present the application of GH theory and validate the power of the proposed concept and index. 19Luminescence Properties of Red Emitting Phosphor KMgLa(PO_4)_2:Sm^(3+) for White LEDs显示文摘A series of Sm^(3+) doped KMgLa(PO_4)_2 have been prepared via a high-temperature solid-state method.The phase of the phosphor was characterized by X-ray diffraction,and the spectra of phosphors were measured by the fluorescence spectrophotometer.Under 402 nm near-ultraviolet excitation,KMgLa(PPO_4)_2:Sm^(3+) shows orange-red emission,and the emission peak locates at 600 nm,which is associated to the ~4G_(2/5)→~6H_(9/2) transition of Sm^(3+).The emission intensity of phosphors can be tuned by changing the Sm^(3+) concentration,and the optimal Sm^(3+) doping concentration is about0.01.The concentration quenching phenomenon was observed in KMgLa(PO_4)_2:Sm^(3+),and the critical distance is calculated to be about 3.082 nm.The CIE chromaticity coordinates of phosphors shift from red to pink with the Sm^(3+) concentration increasing.All the results suggest that it could be a potential application in white LEDs manufacture.LI Ting LI Yue SHI Xian TIAN Yinghe BAI Qiongyu Yuan Xiaoxian WANG Zhijun LI Panlai YANG Zhiping 2016Journal of the Chinese Ceramic Society2016,,3:0
20De novo engineering of nanoformulation from traditional Chinese medicine mixtures for psoriasis显示文摘Nanotechnology has been widely applied in the development of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Interestingly,we found that nanostructures intrinsically existed in 12 clinically applied TCM mixtures(TCMMs).However,the role of these nanostructures in TCMMs and their potential value in improving the development of TCMMs remain unknown.Taking Qingxuechushi mixture as an example,we demonstrated that nanoparticles could be the most efficient part through the pharmacodynamics study on psoriasis model.By imitating the physical properties and chemical composition of isolated nanoparticles in Qingxuechushi mixture,a novel nanoformulation with definite components and good therapeutic effect was developed,which not only mimicked the prescription composition rules in the original TCMMs but also possessed the advantage of nanotechnology.This novel nanoformulation could notably alleviate the psoriasis-like manifestations and reduce the levels of pro-inflammatory factors in serum in the psoriasis mouse model.This work organically integrates the advantages of TCMMs and nanotechnology,which may provide a new approach and inspiration for the development of TCM.Yang Li Dan Zhang Tianzi Shi Yulin Yu Yinmei Tian Qi Xie Jingyu Shi Li Kong Conglian Yang Zhiping Zhang 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0
